Pop Up info

I want to use a pop up that gets it's information from a table. For example I have 6 sheets with the same pop up and I don't want to have to edit all 6 sheets, just one table and all pop up's have the new value from the table below. A list of text where I can delete and enter new text.

Unfortunately, Numbers pop-ups do not get their values from tables.
Fortunately someone came up with an Applescript that will let you create/edit pop-ups from a table. However, changing the table will not automatically change any pop-ups; you have to run the script again to apply the changes.

I really need to know how you create the 'cream pop-up info text boxes' that appear when you hover your mouse over an object on a webpage (and often in any program e.g. Photoshop) for more than a second. I need to know because the logo on my website is the navigation tool used to return to the homepage. It is always found in the top left so the user can always click it to return.
The only problem is im the only one who knows that when you click my logo, you return to the homepage. I need one of these 'cream info boxes' (forgive my lack of knowledge) to appear so the user will figure it out.

Pop up info window for links

Hello all it's the rookie again.... I have a lot of "image"
links on my page. it is an online portfolio so all my links are
thumbnails and I would love if when a visitor moused over a link it
would then triger a little pop up info that gives a quick one
sentence description of what that link is about. ANY HELP WILL BE
MUCH APPRECIATED.

How do get rid of the Pop Up Info Tags?

This might sound Stupid, but how do get rid of the Pop Up Info Tags? that keep coming up on the Mac when in an Application that says what this item is for. This drives me crazy, and at times gets in the way of what I'm looking at. There must be some Pref to turn this off and on, I Hope.

Simply move your cursor off the control displaying the tool tip: the tip will vanish.

Minor error in Viewer Builder pop-up info

Hi,
I noticed a minor error in the Viewer Builder pop-up information. When you create a viewer for the iPad and choose "multi issue with iTunes subscription", you get to complete the Newsstand information. The iPad 1 & 2 Landscape Subscription Tile info popup states that the PNG graphic must be 468x135, but in fact this should be 463x135 (see help file PDF). It's not a big deal, but it can be confusing for some users I think.
Can someone please confirm this?

I'm able to get out this problem.
I'd one month old installation of designer and workbench. During generating formguide, this set up created mxml with following component for Optional paragraph:
Then I uninstalled the workbench and designer and installed latest 8.2.1_GM version of those and run the formguide again. This time, the produced mxml has the following entry
(Notice the difference from cm.* to cm.controls.*)
As I guess (just a guess),I think earlier it searched CmOptionalParagraph in cm root
(it gave error that referenced component cm.CmOptionalParagraph not found as it was in cm.controls location.)
Now it is able to find that as it searches correct location.

Overquota pop notification (Info sent to MUA)

Hi all,
I would like to know if it is possible to alter in some way the manner in which overquota notifications are hanndled. I'm not referring to the email message sent out to the users but rather the "command" sent to the MUA that causes it to show a popup alerting the user he/she is overquota.
Netscape clients (Thunderbird...) handle this better showing info in the status bar so it's not so much of an issue there, however most users have Outlook and this shows an obtrusive popup informing that the person is overquota. Any action done on the imap "folder" causes the popup to display again so even the simples action of cleaning out the imap mailbox becomes dificult. (Imagine... delete one email... popup, delete another... popup...)
What I would like to know is if it is possible to handle this serverside, either disable or change the interval or manner that this is handled.

The reason Thunderbird produces less over-quota pop-ups is it tends to keep mailboxes/IMAP connections open so you get less over-quota pop-ups when selecting the same mailbox.
The IMAP append operation must be rejected everytime (with an appropriate error message) otherwise there is no point enforcing quotas.

Cursor drag pop up info-nothing comes up without clicking

Okay, so my problem is not major, but annoying and I don't know how to take care of it. Hopefully someone can help.
When I drag the cursor over something, for example the hidden dock, it doesn't do anything unless you click, the dock doesn't pop up, or if you move the cursor over something where text would normally appear, it doesn't unless you left click. Or when you drag the cursor over the options in a drop down menu, such as "file" the different selections in the menu don't highlight as you drag the cursor over them.
This happens not only on the desktop but on the internet too. Nothing ever pops up like it should when you hold the cursor over it.
This problem has me baffled, I'm sure it's a simple fix, but I have no idea how to fix it and I haven't found anything posted for the same problem.

Depending on your model G5 iMac, some came w/Mighty Mouse & some came with just the regular Apple Mouse. Which one do you have? Or are you using a 3rd party mouse?

Hovering/Pop-up Info Icons for Desktop

I'm talking about the big Windows 8 kind, like when one toggles Capslock, or Keyboard Language, or Insert. I've searched around but couldn't find anything, if someone is using something of the like I'd appreciate it if they pointed me in the right direction. Running OpenBox with tint2 atm pretty basic.

A wrapper script bound to those keys that triggers notify-send would be one way to accomplish it...

Info bar popping up

Good morning all,
I have had my BT vision box for about 3 weeks now but when I am watching some channels (happened on Comedy Central, Fox and BBC One HD), the information banner keeps popping up every minute or two.... so annoying!
Anyone else having this issue and can I do anything to stop it!?

Actually it's the channel bar rather than the program info bar but same annoyance)
BT please fix this quickly it's incredibly annoying currently the TV service is NOT fit for the purpose. I can't concentrate on a program as I miss half the details and have to keep removing this pop up info bar. Try watching football with random info bar popping up. Nuts. In fact right now just watching Manu v Palace match now been looking forward to, there is a penatly claim and just as they show the replay to see if it's a penalty or not up pops the bar right over it and I can't see. Nice one.
[edit: during Van Persie's penatly it popped up over 6 times from the award to the shot] totally useless.

Suppress pop-up messages on SUBMIT

I created a program that calls and passes values to 6 standard transactions (IDOCS related) using SUBMIT. How can I suppress the pop-up info msgs on those called transactions? I tried using the additions TO SAP-SPOOL and EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY (sample below) but the msgs still display.

How to set up POP accts

OK, finally got my iphone. I have three email accts on my apple mail. I thought iphone would sync with apple and transfer my three pop acct info. No?
I tried manually set up my pop but it keeps asking me if I want to set up without SSL. I say OK this and it still does not work. How can I fix this? thanks.

Use the same settings for the incoming mail server that you are using on your computer. Outgoing mail is another story. Depending on the service provider, you may not be able to send email when away from home, particularly if you are on a wifi network. AT&T has a solution for outgoing mail where they allow it to be routed through their servers but it only works when the phone is not receiving a wifi signal. The absolute best thing to do is to sign up for a Gmail account. Google Mail has a feature that allows you to send mail through their servers. The person who receives the mail will not see your Google Mail address, they will only see the address of the account the mail was sent from. In this way, you can use the Google mail as your outgoing server for all accounts. The Host Name will be smtp.gmail.com:587. Enter the username and password of your Gmail account. Good luck.

GMAIL ON APPLE MAIL AND IPHONE - IMAP VS. POP

I used to have an email with my internet service provider. I switched to Verizon FiOs and needed to switch every website and contact to the new email. Its a pain. I decided to just get a Gmail account so I don't ever have to switch again.
Anyway, with the Cox account, I used to check my email on the iPhone or on my iMac. I could get an email, delete it, and then check my email on the computer hours later and it downloaded again (for editing word documents, etc.).
When I switched to Gmail, I configured Apple Mail by letting it automatically configure the account. On the iPhone, I used the Gmail automatic setup in Settings>Mail. I sent a couple of emails to the address to test it. Most all of them came to the iPhone but only some were there later on the iMac. I read online about the IMAP and POP settings but I don't really understand the differences or benefits.
Basically, in the end I want to be able to check my email on the go and delete them on my iPhone but later go home and check again to have them all there. Which settings do I need to have on the gmail server, the phone, and the computer to make this happen?
Also, is there any way to delete the annoying extra folders and "All Mail" system on the Gmail server and just use the inbox.

Use "recent mode" on Gmail for both devices. That solves the problem. Only issue is that will cause all the emails of the past month to re-download to all your devices, so you'll end up re-deleting a huge pile of mail. But once that's done-with, all your devices can all access the mail fresh from now on.
Look for instructions in Gmail help. Basically it means adding the text "recent:" to your POP login info, as in recent:[email protected] instead of just [email protected]

Pop account problems

I live in Hawaii. I use to live on Oahu. There I used TimeWarner's Roadrunner for cable access. But since moving to Puna, Hawaii,Big Island, I no longer have "roadrunner", as my pop account as they are no longer my ISP.
When I try to get into mail it is asking me for my pop account password, which is no longer valid. So this morning I went into mail prefrences and deleted my pop account info. Now it appears that my Mac mail isn't coming through at all to my computer? What can I do to solve my problem with mail???

actually Allan what I'm trying to convey is this. Since changing islands I no longer use 'Roadrunner' as my ISP, only because it not where my house is being built. So, since changing islands I cancelled 'Roadrunner', and now use DSL from Hawaiian Telcomm. As I opened the mail app. I get a small window asking for password for pop account. That password was with 'Roadrunner', and now since I don't use them anymore I can't access that account using their password...so I deleted my pop account from mail prefrences. Now when I open mail....there is nothing from my inbox? Shouldn't my .Mac mail appear there as it did before?

Email accts/ Do I need I.E. PoP3, IMAP etc. info for set up?

I want to get a secure email service that has encryption. This is my fist time using a smart phone (still in the mail) and would like to know if I need any information typical of a PC account as in POP-3 info or IMAP info etc., or can I just contact my email provider?

In my old iPhone3 I had these accounts set up so that I could send and receive email from both accounts. I did this using the following settings:

I’ve tried using the same settings in my new iPhone5, but it doesn’t work. I can receive mail to both accounts, and can send from the Yahoo account, but I cannot send mail from the alias account. When I try, it displays the message: “Cannot send mail. A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The recipient ‘[email protected]’ was rejected by the server”.
I’ve tried to configure the POP alias account using combinations of ‘pop.mail.yahoo.com’, ‘pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk’, ‘apple.pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk’ and ‘apple.pop.mail.yahoo.com’, for the incoming host, and ‘smtp.o2.co.uk’, ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.com’, ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk’, ‘apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com’ and ‘apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk’ for the outgoing mail server. None of these have worked.
I’ve also tried setting it up using IMAP instead of POP without success. I tried configuring it using combinations of ‘imap.mail.yahoo.com’, ‘apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com’, ‘imap.mail.yahoo.co.uk’ and ‘apple.imap.mail.yahoo.co.uk’ for the incoming mail server and ‘smtp.o2.co.uk’, ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.com’, ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk’, ‘apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com’ and ‘apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk’ for the outgoing mail server.
Yahoo say that if I can't send Yahoo! Mail from my mail program, I may be accessing the Internet through an ISP that is blocking the SMTP port, and that if this is the case, I should try setting the SMTP port number to 587 when sending email via Yahoo!'s SMTP server. I don't think that this is the problem, but I tried it just to make sure - without success.
I’ve also heard that the problem might have something to do with the SPF settings of my alias domain provider. I’m not too sure exactly what SPF settings are, or how to change them, but from what I can gather it seems unlikely that this is the problem given that I was able to send mail from my alias account on my old iPhone3.
Any help much appreciated: how can I get my alias account to send emails in iPhone5 mail?

A new development: I've tried sending emails from the alias several times over the past 24 hours, but in general I've deleted them if they haven't sent within about half an hour.
However, one of the messages I left sitting in the outbox did send successfully in the end, but this took about an hour.
So: perhaps my problem is not in fact that I am completely unable to send mail from my alias, but that I can only do so intermittently and extremely slowly, and by ignoring the "cannot send" message.
Any help appreciated.
