Pop up installer screen

I've been using my computer for 6 months with no problem
until last week. I was in AOL email and a sidebar video froze my
screen with a script error. Ever since then I'm constantly getting
flash player installer pop up screens. I've uninstalled and
reinstalled several times using Adobe's recommended procedure and
the same thing keeps happening. I've run every diagnostic, spyware,
etc known to mankind. I've thoroughly cleaned the system, cookies,
etc. It''s driving me nuts HELP!

Hi Arejfour-
Sounds like your browser settings got the smackdown.
What's your OS? Browser?
AOL email via AOL Dialup/AOL browser/AOL email (I hope not)?
OR IE/webmail.aol.com/email?
Both the AOLs have gotten so bloated they're hard to use and
cause these probs! Yeah, I'm gripin'....
Anyway, via IE, check your FP version to make sure it's
correctly installed
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about
Then, verify that your javascript is STILL enabled.
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom, scroll down to
"Scripting", "Active Scripting" tick Enable.
Then, verify that Java is STILL enabled. IE/Tools/Internet
Options/programs/Manage Add-ons (or IE/Tools/Manage Add-ons/Enable
or Disable Add-ons). Enable all the Java (Sun Micro) stuff.
While at the Internet Options screen, verify your Security
(Zone) settings. If ya don't have any reason to customize, you can
just reset the zones to Default settings.
If all else fails, (last resort) you can reset your IE7
browser.
Let me know if you're on AOL Dialup. DON'T uninstall AOL!
It'll take hours to reload!

I have tried EVERY suggestion Adobe has made and no matter what, I get the black "Adobe Reader Installer" screen EVERY TIME!!  Any suggestions to help me overcome this problem would be appreciated.  BTW:  I have a Windows 7 Home OS.  I prefer FireFox.  I have successfully downloaded Adobe Reader using all the major browsers, however it does NOT matter, I am NOT able to actually install Adobe Reader, every time all I get is the black pop-up "Adobe Reader Installer" screen!!!

PS.... I had a previous version on my computer that needed to be updated.... so I uninstalled it because I was having trouble installing the new version.... so even that did not help!!

As always with that same question, use the offline installer http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Installing flash on new pc, but only getting a blank installation screene

Trying to install in new pc, but when I click on the download, the setup runs - but the installation screen pops up but stays blank. Nothing happens thereafter.
I've tried IE, Chrome, and Firefox. Lost.

    Hello,
We have received numerous reports of this behaviour, but have been unable to reproduce.  You can bypass the online installers by using the offline installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page.
    @taco1085,
You indicate the problem began for you after installing a critical update.  Do you recall which update this was?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Purpose of database port on installation screen?

What is the purpose of the database port on the ZR5 installation screen?
It seems to come up before you pick whether you're using ZCM or config file, which I find odd.
The docs seem to indicate that if you select ZCM config, it'll know about whatever database ZCM is using (ie: external MS SQL or Oracle, etc.)
But by then you've already set a database port?
So what should we use for the Database port? Is that the port that our Oracle database is (for ZCM?)
Or does ZR5 use some other database as well as whatever ZCM is using?
If the latter, WHERE does this database get installed and what is it used for?
(this is obviously different than ZRS)

    yes, see above

on "this" server, and where do you think the reports get stored?

Thanks Shaun. I was hoping that it would use the External Database, rather than me now having to maintain two separate databases, including one we don't "officially" support from an Enterprise standpoint (our official database we are to use is Oracle 11g R2, and in some cases, MS SQL when necessary).

  • Trying to repair Bootcamp but keyboard not working at installation screen?

Okay so I was a happy little camper, had windows 7 running on bootcamp perfectly and had yosemite installed recently.
Bootcamp was running out of space so I created an exFat partition and that's when the past 24 hours of my life have turned into ****.
Bootcamp would show in system preferences but when I restarted the computer and held alt, it would not show at start up neither directly restarting into bootcamp worked. Finally found a solution for that, did the whole fdisk stuff and fixed the MBPR etc etc. Now bootcamp is present at start up via alt option but once I start I only get a black screen with a blinking cursor. The solution to that I discovered is to repair bootcamp using a bootable usb/cd. Since I'm using a MBP retina 2014, I had to create a bootable usb via bootcamp. Now, when I go to the start up screen and select the win 7 bootable drive, I get to the installation screen to select language but my trackpad/mouse and keyboard are not responding!!! *takes a gun and shoots himself* How do I fix this ? I've been trying to find a solid solution but no luck! please someone help me out

Please, is there any workaround to this problem? I would wish to install arch on my PC.
Maybe installing an older version CD could work, but i am not sure if older versions of arch offer support for ext4...
EDIT: Ok I solved it, it was a very strange option in Bios, called "Installer OS Select", where the options to choose were Windows or Others, and I choose others and voilà!, Keyboard working.
    Strange, right?

I have just bought a Humax 7500T PVR and a Humax W-Lan dongle to connect to my Airport Extreme.
I have put the mac address into the AE. The installation screen on my TV is picking up the network name but once appied it won't connect to the internet.
I've a few other things connected to the AE such as computers, ipad, itouch, etc, and have never had a problem connecting these once I've entered the mac address into the AE. Can anyone help me with this please?

have you made sure that the network setting in the system preferences is set up to use dhcp? if not i would try changing it so that it shows that it is getting its address by dhcp

  • Adobe flash player installer screen won't close

I was going to install it and found it was going to install Google chrome, and I didn't want that. So, I cancelled it and now I can't get the installer screen off my computer! Any help?

    Reboot.
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Nothing in those but the Flash Player plugin.

  • Adobe flash player installer screen blank.

Every time I try to install the latest Flash player the "Adobe Flash Player Installer" screen goes blank. I'm on mac by the way (Yosemite) "Getting installation" and the bar shows up for a split second and then dissapears. The rest of the screen is completely blank, no matter what I do. I have shut down browsers and all other relevant programs before attempting the install, so it's not that. Also, I have uninstalled flash to do a clean install, but it made no difference.
Please help me fix this problem. I have found no help for it.. I can't believe adobes installation software is bugged like this.

    Try the offline installer:

  • Wrong language installation screens

I'm in Hong Kong using English Windows etc. However every time I try to upgrade iTunes, the installation screens appear in Chinese. Any hints on changing PC settings so iTunes will provide English instructions for a computer located in China?

Acrobat XI is an MUI installer.  That means that multiple languages are available. The default installer language is English.  However, if you have an OS that is Spanish and serial number that allows Spanish then Acrobat will install in that language.  You should be able to go to Edit>Preferences>Language>Application Language and set it there.

  • Bill document & print document number disapear from installation screen.

    Hi ,
After archiving the following objects bill document & invoice document disapear from installation screen.
    Print line item: ISU_PRDOCL
    Print header: ISU_PRDOCH
    Bill line item: ISU_BILLZ
    Bill header: ISU_BILL
To get the details of those document we need the documnet number.
Is there any SAP note for this scenario (issue) or any work around/transaction from where we can get the document number.
If there will need any Z development from where we can get that document ..please suggest.
    Regards,
    Sudip

    Thanks Ravi,
But my concern is that wher can we get the document number. If we have the doc number then only we can get the details from EA22 & Ea40 transaction.
In certain scenario if multiple document is archived then it is bit difficult to find the doc number.
Is there any stnadrd SAP transaction or development where we can get the doc number. (in FPL9 this provision is alredy there).

  • What are little transparent notices that pop onto the screen?

There are little transparent notices that pop onto the screen whenever the computer congratulates itself for doing something like a download or finding an infected email and eliminating it.  What are those called and how can I turn them off?

    Thanks for replying MacJack,
It turns out that it was Growl, not an anti-virus program that was being the nuisance.
I found out how to disable those distracting pop-ups by following the directions on Growl's website.
