Pop Up message at shut down

Everyday I am about to leave office I need to sign out from a web portal that we use to capture time at office.
How do I get a pop up message each time I try to shut down windows which will as a question to the user "Did you sign out from the web portal?".
The message box should appear with a "Yes" and a "No" button. If the user would click "No" the system should take it to the portal to sign out and if the user would click "Yes", windows continues to shut down.
We are currently using Windows 7.
PLEASE HELP.
Thanks

While it is possible to create a script that runs at shut-down time, I do not think that this script can be interactive. You would need to create your own shut-down shortcut on the desktop. It would invoke a script consisting of two commands:
The prompt about the web portal.
The shut-down command.

  • Alerts - Text Message "To Shut Down the System"

    Hi Experts,
I want to set a Alert message to pop up for all the users of Business One.Lets say the message is "Shut down the system".Can we set this predefined Alert in B1? I tried ,but it asked to link the query.I don knw how .....pls help.

In order an alert to work, not only a message is needed, more important is the event to trigger this alert.  What is your condition to alert user? If this condition is not directly related to B1 itself, such as you want all user out of B1 system, then an email broadcasting to a distribution list would be a better tool to use.
    Thanks,

  • N97 mini text message editor shuts down by itself!

Whenever I try to write something in capital letters, the predictive text shuts down the whole messaging app! I just found this today trying to respond to my friend before I figured out what is wrong.
To answer his question where I am, I tried to write
    "I'm in DC right now"
However, I only got to "I'm in D", as when I pressed C (I was using qwerty keyboard), the whole thing closed. It happened several times, and I could only respond once I turned predictive text off. Now, every time I try to just type in "DC" in the message with predictive text on, the whole thing shuts down!
Since this is a NAM phone, it's still running old firmware (wonder why updates are only available to phones in some parts of the world and not other?). Did anyone else experience that? Does new firmware fix it? Or am I again the only unlucky one with the weirdest bug

    Hi,
I have version 12.2.110.232.01 on N97 mini and text editors (for SMS and email) delete the message and shut down the application whenever predictive text is enables and I type two consecutive capital letters....
Where you able to find a fix for this other than deactivating predictive text option?
    Thanks for your help

  • While using reliance netconnect getting message to shut down computer and restart

I have macbook pro os x 10.6.6. I am using reliance netconnect broadband+ with my mac but after 10 or 15 mins using internet i am getting message that i need to shut down and restart my computer. I am getting this message all the time. I find out that i need some drivers to fix this problem.
    any help
    Manohar

Hey Guys, I Had the same issue with a Reliance Broadband+ modem with model no. AC2736 while I was using it with my Macbook Pro containing OS X 10.6.7 (I recently updated the OS so its now 10.6.8) after using the modem for sometime I had a prompt in dark screen popped up in 5 different languages asking me to force restart the computer and I did it. The problem persisted after repeatative trials of resolving it by means told by Reliance customer support and also mentioned in different internet forums.
Then I went to the dealer and asked them to exchange the modem because its a problem with the modem (or software) and then to called Reliance customer support for a proper and effective solusion. After repeatative trial the modem manufacturer's athorised accociate in Calcutta comfirmed that ZTE does not have any update for Mac OS X 10.6.5 onwards so as of now, there is NO solution for this problem (confirmed first by ZTE and later Reliance). So if you guys are having any problem with this modem and the its still under warranty, call the customer support, they will take this modem back and refund your money as they promised to do in my case.

  • CS2 gives login error message and shuts down automatically

    Hi,
I hope someone can direct me to a quick fix for this because I just shot a wedding and need to be editing ASAP. I turned on PhotoShop CS2 and after loading it gives me the error message saying somehting to the effect of "Your username, login, organization, or serial key is missing or invalid. Photoshop must shut down". My copy is registered, and I have the loging info and serial , but I cannot do anything at all in the program. It doesn't give an option to re-enter my info. It just shuts itself down. I use it all the time and have had it on this computer since 06 so I have no idea why it's doing this now. Any help tonight would be great.
    Thanks in advance.

System specs, please. Is CS2 installed on a 64 bit operating system?

  • No Response messages & computer shutting down, plus adapter driver missing (HP Pavilion m9400t)

My desktop computer (HP Pavilion m9400t, Vista 64-bit, SP2) has slowed to a grind in recent months, and programs keep locking up, giving me a "No Response" message. This started with IE 9 tabs, then MS Outlook, and now it's every program. I often reboot to get it going again, but run into the same problem in a few minutes.
I leave the computer on overnight to run automatic back-ups, and now, the last two nights, it has shut down and won't start up by pushing the power button. The light stays on under the power cord. I followed the instructions on HP.com to get it going again, and it starts back up. How do I get the computer working smoothly again?
I just ran a registry cleanup and cut back on start-up processes. Virus definitions are up to date. I ran Malwarebytes and deleted one threat that was quarantined. I also ran hardware diagnostics, which detected a Toshiba RNDIS Adapter that is missing a driver, but I can't find the driver on the HP site. The details under Device Manager say the adapter is at Port_#0002. Hub_#0001. What is this adapter--a USB port?--and where can I find the driver?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hello lcafarel,
    Let's do this.
    1. Unhook everything from your computer but the bare minimum. This is just the keyboard and mouse
    2. Unhook the internet modem if you are connected to a modem, if you are wireless, disable your wireless adapter.
    3. Put the computer in a clean boot state, starting only the bare minimum services for the computer to run
    a. Click start and then type msconfig.exe
    b. Under General tab choose the option Selective Startup
    c. Uncheck Load startup items
    d. Navigate to the Services tab
    e. Check Hide all Microsoft Services
    f. Choose disable all
    4. Reboot
    5. Monitor for 24 hours.
I would assume in this amount of time you would be able to affectively reproduce the issue of the computer locking up and shutting down.
If it continues to lock up then we can start looking at the computer on an OS level.
If it doesn't continue we have to start ruling things out.
First try plugging the internet back in, does the problem persist. Then start adding other peripherals back to the computer, e.g printers.
Continue to turn items on and add items to the computer until the lock ups and freezes occur. It's the best way to effectively isolate the cause.
As for the Adapter that is missing, it's something connected to your computer. Is it possible that you have a Toshiba modem that you are connected to for the internet?

  • Error message when shutting down

I'm getting a message that says tss.exe is preventing your computer from shutting down. What do I do to fix this? I have to manually shut down.

    Hi Jerry,
You have helped me before and I'm trying to help my husband on his computer.  We have this same tss.exe error message.  I'm also having another problem and am wondering if this tss.exe could be causing it.  I was trying to download a program from Abbottdiabetescare.com so he can monitor his blood sugars.  When it is almost finished loading, it comes up with an error message that says "another installation is taking place, please finish that installation first" or something like that.  I got on the phone with their tech support but they couldn't help me at all.  They said it had to be some process on the computer causing it to not be able to finish.  Is it this tss.exe?  If so, can I just get rid of it?  I have no clue what a service station does, but it sounds fairly important?  Can you please advise me?  His computer is a Toshiba  Satellite L355-S7915.  It runs on Vista.  Thanks!  Judy

  • I am getting a "Waiting for Background Program to Close" message when shutting down since the installation of CC 2014

    Hi there
I know Microsoft support says this message can be neglected. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody has a solution.
Previous Adobe CC versions did not show this problem. As soon as I end the Adobe CC process in the task manager manually, I can shut down the PC without getting this message.
    Soft- and hardware used:
    Windows 7 64bit, service pack 1 installed
    Intel i7-2600k
    GPU Asus GTX 970 STRIX
    Thanks for any ideas.
    Cheers
    Juerg

That's most likely simply sloppy programming on one of the web extensions not correctly responding to system shutdown messages and closing their ports... Annoying, but not critical. If you don't use it, you can always turn off TypeKit and the sync features.

    Hi
Did the issue still occur when you close your antivirus software?
Try opening word or excel in safe mode.
Click Win+R, type winword /safe or
    excel /safe.
    Go to file>options>add-ins and select
    COM add-ins, uncheck the add-ins.
If it doesn’t work, we recommend you check the issue in clean-boot,

  • Cooling Fan Error Message & Computer Shut Down

    Hello,
I have a 2 1/2 Satellite running W7 and recently started having a problem, receiving a Cooling System error message which tells me to shut down the computer immediately.  I did and left it off to cool, then started it up again.  Less than 5 minutes later, same message and the computer shut itself down.  The fan starts normally, then becomes burdened, then stops.  Is this actually fan related or hard drive related?

    Hello Peter,
I already have the new BIOS you sent me.  The problem persists.  Toshiba has no Authorized Service for computers where I live (Brazil) as far as I can see on their site, which I can't understand since it is a global company.  So, I can not use my business computer now.  Apparently, I either have to ship it to the States (which will cost me more than the computer is worth, and I'm better off buying a new one of a brand that takes care of its customers globally), or I have to try and find someone here who thinks they might be able to discover the problem and fix it.  Any suggestions?

  • [Solved] Loud pop noise, then laptop shuts down

So, I heard a loud "pop" noise like what happens when the power goes out, my laptop shut down. When I turned it back on, it didn't show that it was charging. So, I plugged in another power supply, when I used another one, it showed that it was charging. So, did my power supply go bad, and will msi replace it?

I agree with this one. If AC adapter is from them too just like the laptop (some don't provide AC adapter mostly on used one) then they should replace it. It will be considered a factory defect.
    Quote from: Svnyster;109620
Sounds like it may be a blown capacitor. As long as you're still under warranty, MSI should replace the failed AC adapter. I'd say to just contact their support and see what they say.

  • Macintosh IIsi Rare Message at Shut Down

    Folks,
I turned on a Macintosh IIsi today, and when I was done, I went to Special>Shut Down. An abnormal message (for a II series) came on screen saying "It is now safe to switch off your Macintosh." This message never appeared before on this Mac, nor does this message ever appear on any 68K Mac that doesn't have a rocker power switch. I pulled the power plug, rather than trying to hold the power button. The only thing I could point the problem is that I stripped out the entire unit because of the built in speaker not working properly.

Thought I'd bump this thread to see if anyone else has experienced such odd run in with the IIsi.

  • Recurring Message "You Shut Down Your Computer Because of a Problem"

I had a computer crash and since then I get a prompt after login (administrator or any other account) stating: "You shut down your computer because of a problem" and even when I choose to open the apps that were open during the crash it still prompts me again after a reboot.
    Steps I have taken:
    1. Booted into recovery and performed a disk and permissions repair to no avail
    2. Attempted to login on other accounts and received same error.
    3. Used Onyx to clear the cache on boot, kernel as well as applications
    4. Used Oynx to rebuild the LaunchServices and dyld's shared cache.
Still have the problem even after booting into Safe Mode (prompt did not appear then, but reappeared when booting normally)
    Any ideas.
