Pop up Safari

Hi, in my ipad4 always pops up this message "www.facebook.com WARNING! Your flash player may be out of date. Please update to continue. " What can be? Thank you.

Hello abdurazzaq,
You can install the free Safari Ad Block Extension :
http://safariadblock.com/
It's not 100% perfect but it should help you.
Also, blocking pop-up windows stops only those windows that appear when you open or close a page. It does not block pop-up windows that open when you click a link. ( Blocking popup windows Safari 5.0 for Mac : http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Safari/5.0/en/9275.html ).

  • "Java Runtime Environment" pop up +  "Safari web Content" within force quit menu - two issues that won't go away and might be related?

    Hello Guys.
I have this Java pop up for several weeks now and no amount of restarting my Mac will make it go away. Also, when I go to my force quit menu, it insists I have this "safari web content" running, and I have no idea what it is. They might be related, I"m not sure,  but how do I make them both go away?
The java pop up prompts me to install java (and I already have installed it, multiple times, so no use there).

Oh my gosh. okay here we go.  I do see the "Facebook video calling" plug in you spoke about. I know what the silverlight plugin is (that's for an exam I needed a while back but I don't think that's the problem). What should I do now? I can't thank you enough.

  • Audio clicks and pops using Safari, no problems using Firefox

    iMac 27 inches , late 2012, Processor 3,4 GHz Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 Mo, OS X Mavericks 10.9.1
Digidesign MBOX2 PRO Firewre 400 audio interface to a  thunderbolt adaptor through a firewire 800/400 cable.
I’m on Apple.com via Safari  7.0.1 (latest version) watching the christmas add. (http://www.apple.com/#video-tv-spot)
    All is ok.
I launch Garageband 10.0.1, (latest version) the ad’s audio is full ok clicks and pops.
I quit Garageband and tthe ad’s audio  plays correctly.
I launch Logic Pro 9.1.8  (latest Logic 9 version) ,the ad’s audio  is full ok clicks and pops.
I quit Logic Pro and the ad’s audio  plays correctly.
I launch Reason 6.5 , the ad’s audio  is full ok clicks and pops.
I quit Reason and the ad’s audio  plays correctly.
I launch Quicktime 10.3 (latest version) ,  the ad’s audio AND the Quicktime audio is full of clicks and pops.
I quit Quicktime  and the ad’s audio  plays correctly.
I relaunch Quicktime the ad’s audio  is full ok clicks and pops.
I quit Safari and the Quicktime audio is ok.
NONE OF THE ABOVE IF I USE FIREFOX (latest version)
NONE OF THE ABOVE TOO IF Safari runs with the Firefox agent selected!
So, it is not a MBOX2 PRO issue or a firewire cable issue or a thunderbolt adaptor issue.
So it's Safari or Mavericks or ...

Strange. Now the problem is inverted. If Quicktime is running alone, now I get some audio glitches no matter if I choose the aggregate device or the Saffire Le as audio interface. If I launch Logic, the audio is clean.
(As usual all is fine if I use the built-in audio no matter waht sofwares are running)
    The problem is really inverted.
The only way to get clean audio with Quicktime alone is to destroy the aggregate device!
The good thing is that I have the control now. I can get rid of the audio glitches while running Logic.
Oh an btw my firefox is 15.0.1.Latest version. Under Activity Monitor/Disk/Kind, it show Firefox 32 bits.

  • What's up with the new Safari? I've done all the "tips". Still slow!

I've tried all these prophylactic measures and read an hour's worth of articles about the new Safari (Version 5.0, 5533.16 apparently). But it gets stuck on even the most basic of Internet pages.
Safari used to load eBay, Associated Content, TED, YouTube, Craigslist, StumbleUpon, etc. in mere SECONDS. Now all I see is a loading bar that gets stuck about 1/16 (just past the www....) in the loading process.
Yeah, I've cleared the cookies and cache and all the whatnots. I'm not a computer genius but I can tell something is going on. Is Apple keeping a secret record of everything I do or what? Seriously, this is frustrating!
    To summarize:
I used to pop open Safari and get my homepage, www.google.com, in less than one second. Now I get a blank page that gets stuck, takes about thirty seconds, and then finally finds its way.
What can I REALLY do to make my new Safari work like it used to?
Or, how can I get the old version of Safari back?
And I've tried Firefox and other browsers, but they're messy and not as clean as my ol' Safari used to be. What's happening here?
I'm not impatient, I just can tell that something wrong is going on. And I'd like to fix it.

    Hi there!
Thanks for heads up. My Macbook says I'm running 10.5.8 right now.
    The steps I've taken:
I deleted the weird web icons document (I think it was a .dlb or .lb or something in the Library folder for Safrari in my hardrive) which didn't seem to do much, and I've went to my Safari preferences and deleted all ma' cookies, changes my cookie preferences to "only accept from sites I visit" and I've done the "delete cache" option from the Safari menu as well as the "reset Safari" option (which I regularly do anyway 'cause it seems to keep things moving quickly). I've also restarted my computer a couple of times, usually after completing one of these suggestions.
I'm using my computer from home on a wireless router thing from Netgear with super-high-speed way-too-expensive broadband Internet from our local provider, Charter. It's called a Negear Wireless Rangemax Router. I've never had a problem with it before, and 3-4 people use the Internet here at my home, often simultaneously, without difficulty.
I'm gonna' try pluggin' in the ethernet cable now. Thanks! I appreciate it!
--- I will say, after climbing up on a wobbly chair and plugging my laptop into the cable directly, that it worked a bit faster, but it still got "stuck" (which is what I'm now officially calling this phenomenon). For example, Google loaded in about five seconds instead of ten, and Safari generally responded better to random clicking around on links, but this page got "stuck" at "http://disc..." for quite a while (well, longer than your average modern day computer, I'd say; it still felt like I was on my old Powerbook) and then diddled around a while, until I refreshed the page and it loaded almost instantly.
I noticed, too, that the biggest problem it seems to have is loading new web pages that I don't visit frequently. For example, I'll search "Leo Tolstoy" on Google, click on the Wikipedia page, and it just stops! The blue loading bar gets to about "http://en.wiki..." and then it just plain stops. Just a few days ago, it would breeze along with super fast speed.
Thanks again. I appreciate your feedback!
Something fishy is going on, for sure.

  • I am having issues with trying to update safari.  It keeps saying, "Safari can't open the file "Safari_Updater-2.exe" because no available application can open it.

I am having problems with trying to update safari and this keeps popping up, Safari can’t open the file “Safari_Updater-2.exe” because no available application can open it.  Also, I have a bunch of pops and I have my pop up blocker on but I keep having pop ups.

The info below should help with your pop-up issue.

  • Safari/facebook help

    Hi
when ever i chat with a friend on facebook i get this pop up safari can't find internet plug-in. some content on the page facebook home can't be shown because its mime type is unspecified. does anyone know if there will be fixes to this any time soon?
    i have safari 4.0.4 {531.31.10}
    thank you

Excellent news, Kevin. Glad to have finally been of help with something for you!
i just wonder why that it has to be uncheck for it to work ok with out know mime types message.
Taken literally, the message is saying that Safari doesn't know what application to use to play the pop-up sound. Unfortunately, sometimes the literal meanings of error messages on a PC don't match up well with what is actually causing them.
If you've got time, you could send a bug report to Apple about the issue. If you bring up your Menu bar in Safari, go "Help > Report Bugs to Apple" to send a bug report. If you do it while you're at Facebook and getting the error message, you can also send a screenshot of the page (with the error message on it), and can also attach the source code of the page to the bug report.

  • Getting WMP plug-in to work

I installed Windows Media Player on my newly-purchased iMac Intel Core Duo to be able to view multimedia clips from CNN/Pipeline and listen to audio online from XM and Sirius. When I go those websites and start to try to run the clips I get the following pop-up: "Safari can't display content on this page. Some content on this page requires an Internet plug-in that Safari doesn't support. The application "Windows Media Player" may be able to display this content. Would you like to try" When I click to continue, with CNN WMP will come up in a separate window and nothing happens. Eventually another pop-up comes saying "Cannot open the file. Verify that the path and filename are correct and try again." I can successfully play the sample .wmv file that came with the player application. Any suggestions as to what I need to do?? My version of Safari is 2.0.3.
    20" iMac Dual Core   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   512MB RAM/128 VRAM 250G HDD

Windows Media Player is not a Universal binary, only
PPC based. Hence, unless you are running Safari in
Rosetta mode, you will not be able to play WMP
    content through Safari.
    Flip4Mac
    is soon
to be Universal, which will allow you to play
    WMP content natively through Safari.
After doing some additional research I came to the same conclusion you mentioned. I'm resolved to having to wait for Flip4Mac to come out in Universal. WMP works great on my son's eMac running Panther, so I have another computer I can use for viewing WMP-based content.

  • Launch a specific app from the iBook?

I'd like to launch an application from a different developer from the iBooks Author document. Is this possible without popping up safari or itunes, if the user already has the app?

There's no way to associate a file with a specific app then....even across apple products (iBook>pages?) Well, that's a bummer.  I have found a work around (linking to a specific web page) but if that page moves, or goes away, the book becomes less relevant.
    Thanks for the answer KT.

  • Radio /itunes

Itunes has a list of radio stations pre-programmed.....I would like to
know if we can add our local radio stations to itunes, and how we do it ?
    Thank you
    E-mac   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   iTunes 6.0.4

I was trying to add a npr station that has streaming on their website today. Maybe this is a workaround for anybody that wants to go this route.
I thnk whether this solution is applicable to you depends COMPLETELY on what capabilities the radio's web site provides.
I went to an npr radio station web site (http://www.kpcc.org) and clicked on their "Listen Live" link and received this Safari pop-up:
"Safari cannot find the Internet plug-in.
The page “KPCC-FM Live Broadcast” has content of MIME type “audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page:
    http://www.real.com/products/player/
Do you want to open the page?"
Since I didn't want to subscribe to Real Player SuperPass for $14.95 a month, I clicked Cancel. That revealed the Listen Live pop-up with 2 Links:
    1) Listen with your own MP3-streaming audio application
    2) Windows Media Player users read this
Clicking on #1 opened iTunes and began streaming the audio from this site within my Library. All well and good. Then I found there's no way to place this file (with the radiating radio wave icon like all the other radio stations under Source->Radio collection.)
So I simply added a Source Playlist (collection) called More Radio Stations and from the Library window into the More Radio Stations playlist where I can add as many other radio stations as I wish for further recall.
Again, not all radio stations will offer the choice to allow a locally resident audio application on your Mac to stream the audio through iTunes in this manner.

  • Cannot browse web on ipod touch even though it says i am connected ??

ok so i got the ipod touch 4th gen 8gb for christmas and it was perfect for like 2 days, i was connecting to my cousins wifi home internet with no problems and going on safari and app store, now i am back home and the only internet i have is a laptop with a pay as you go modem which is fine and works perfect on the laptop.
so i tried setting up a ad hoc network on my laptop so i could connect my ipod to the internet and it actually worked pretty good at first !
but now i am connecting to the network on the ipod and it says i have full signal yet when i go on safari or app store an error pops up "safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet"
hope som1 can PLEASE help ??
    thanks

**I have had my iPod Touch 3rd Generation 64gb for about a year. I went to stay at a hotel and I connected to their Wifi just fine. But, when I came back home the next day, my home Wifi wouldnt work. Previously, I had been connecting to my home Wifi, which it Linksys, just fine. When I came home, I "connected" to it again like normal, but then I went to Safari and it said*: +"Safari cannot open page because it is not connected to the Internet."+ *What really confused me is that up in the top left corner next to where it says "iPod" it shows the Wifi connected with full signal. My brothers have 3rd generation iPod Touches, also both 64 gb, and they are connecting to the home Wifi perfectly. I don't know if it was the hotel Wifi that somehow messed up my iPod, but it certainly isn't working at my house. I have restored my iPod, but i haven't yet "forgotten" the network or restarted my router. I have read other messages and that is what it seems like I should do. They have an apple store in my town and I am wondering if I should take my iPod there to see if I could get it fixed or replaced. I am just very glad that it seems like this is a common problem.*
*Thanks for reading and possibly trying to help in the future,*

Just about every other culture is listed in the BC admin but Russian seems to be missing...or am I missing something?

This is a long shot (since I've not had troubles posting with Safari), but I would tell Safari to allow pop-ups (Safari > Preferences > Security > (uncheck) Block pop-up windows), and then log in to eBay.

  • Downloaded file from internet and now I can't find it

So my dumb ***  downloaded a file from the internet today from an untrusted source and now I can't find it anywhere except for when I click on the downloads button on the safari web browser (i.e. )
I clicked on the file it shows that I downloaded and this pops up
"Safari can’t show the file “4-More-PeopleAreUsingCellPhonestoListentoOnlineRadioinTheirCars.xlsx” in the Finder because “4-More-PeopleAreUsingCellPhonestoListentoOnlineRadioinTheirCars.xlsx” has moved since you downloaded it."
I looked for it in the finder window under the "downloads" folder, looked under "All my files" sorted it by the date added, clicked on the magnifying glass next to the only place I can see it and the file still didnt show up in finder.
    help, anyone?

I have no idea why it disappeared from your Mac. But I trust this reassures you there does not seem to be anything malicious about the file.
You might want to search on your Mac using some of the key words in the file.
Not that I am denying the results but out of curiousity how did you manage to download and locate the file when I didn't provide you with the website from which I downloaded it from?
The thing is, what I supposedly downloaded wasn't supposed to be an xlsx file nor any type of text file for that matter. I got it from a website called ryushare.com.
I also tried to search for it with the use of the key words in the file you found and no luck. Any way to know for a fact it's not going to affect my computer? Also, any way I can look for the file and delete it through terminal?
    Thanks again Eustace

  • Apple Software Doesn't Connect to Internet

None of my Apple software seems to be able to access the Internet. Scratch that, Mail can download and upload mail, though it can't non-attached images. Safari just instantly pops up, "Safari can’t open the page ... because it could not connect to the server ..." iTunes cannot access the iTunes store (it instantly pops up a message asking me to make sure my network connection is active) nor can it access radio stations. Dashboard cannot make any connections either.
Firefox works perfectly fine (I'm using it to post this message), as do other third-party applications that access the Internet. I've done nothing special that I can think of that would cause this strange behavior. Everything was working perfectly fine in Apple apps land a few hours ago, and then I watched _Ghost in the Shell 2_ and when I was done with that discovered that the Apple apps don't work. Maybe the Major has hijacked my machine? Or is there something else that anyone can think of? Thanks for any help folks might be able to give.
