Pop-Up Text Box on Hover of Text

I've been looking for a solution on how to make a box of text pop-out (but not into a seperate window, just to sort of appear) when someone hovers/puts their mouse on a line of text.
The box would disappear when they move their mouse off the text... or is their a way to make it appear in it's own box if they do actually click on it too?
I know there is the rollover image function but I can't figure out how to manipulate it to do what I need.

Text box not showing full text

Hi everyone
I have a text box which i am using to display the path of a
perticular file. but if the path is long then is doent get
displayed on the text box which is of specific dimension. I cannot
change the dimensions of the text box coz it will give a bad effect
on existing UI.
Also i tried using "Scroll", " Adjust to fit" and " fixed"
options for the text box but that even didn't work . If I put the
Wrap property to ture then the size of the text box is changed
which again coz the UI to look bad.
Plz tell if we have something wherein we have cursor to move
till the end of line...
So i want your quick help on this..

The properties that i have tried and applied are as follows:
Field Properties: Framing - "Adjust to fit "
editable = "true"
Wrap = " False "
Tab = "False"
the problem is the cursor is not moving forward..
I tried all other permutation and combinations but it's not
working...
Any other tip might be useful...

The text box with place holder text in my master is uneducable in my template. How can I fix it?

I'm very new to InDesign.
I just created a master based on a page design I liked by drawing its page icon in the layers panel up to the master icon at the top of the panel. Later I applied the master to a blank page in the same document by selecting the page in the layer panel and option clicking on the master page icon. It worked and I can fill the photo frames but the text areas are uneducable. When I go to the layers panel and open the layer with the text it's blank, however when I open the same file in the master, it's filled with text boxes.
How can I add text boxes with placeholder text that is editable?

Master pages themselves can't be a template, but any file in which the master page is used can be a template, just by saving as such. Templates can contain much more information, though, than just master object placement, including styles (very important), color swatches, and multiple pages. You can even have content on the document pages in a template file, and if you are doing placeholder text, it might make more sense to put it on the live document page than it does to put it on a master page.
Master pages are best suited to content that will appear on multiple document pages.

Is there a way to automatically resize the text box to fit the text inside, without using the selection tool to resize the corners in Illustrator and Photoshop?

I'm wondering if there is a way where I can quickly resize a text box to fit exactly around the text inside, so pretty much the smallest the text box can go without being too small to fit the text? I know you can do this manually with the selection tool, but is there a button/command that automatically does this in one go?

Try this script. Save the page as .jsx the the "Presets>Scripts" AI folder. When you restart AI it will appear in the "Scripts" menu. Select the text block and run the script.

in my ssrs table i encountered a situation where i need to computing for the two text box values and i have to show that value in page header.
for example i have to add the textbox9 value and textbox12 value then i have to show that value in the page header.

According to your description, you want to sum the value of two textboxes, then display it in a page header textbox.
Just PrajapatiNeta said, an expression in a page header or footer can refer to only one report item. So we can create a hidden textbox named textbox20 with the expression below in the report body:
=reportitems!textbox9.Value + reportitems!textbox12.Value
Then use the expression below in a page header textbox:
=reportitems!textbox20.Value
Besides, please note that in a page header or page footer section, only text boxes on the current page are available as a member of the ReportItems collection. For example, if ReportItems!textbox20.Value refers to a text box that only appears on the first
page for a multipage data region, you can see a value only for the first page.

Is it possible to make a text box cycle/rotate through text, like a slide show does?

Is it possible to make a text box cycle through 3 or 4 separate pieces/groups of text, like a slide show does with photos? So that when I open my site a text area says "Statement 1", then 10 seconds later it changes to "Statement 2", then 10 seconds later it chagnes to "Statement 3", etc.
Its that possible with a text box? My desire is to have 3 or 4 testimonials that change every 10 seconds.

Right. Some plugins have zip file downloads while others are just copy & paste.
In DW, go to File > New > Blank page > JavaScript.
Copy & paste the Cycle plugin code into your new JS page.
SaveAs cycle.2.9.81.js in whichever site folder you normally keep scripts.
Link your HTML page to your new cycle script:
Insert > Script > Script (browse to folder containing your cycle script). Hit OK.
Don't forget to add a link to the jQuery core library, too. Plugins don't work without it.

My Word for Mac 2011 repeatedly fails to display certain text boxes if I apply text changes. How can I view the invisible text?

I have Mac OS X 10.6.8. I recently had to download Office for Mac 2011, as my company mandated this over my objections. On the first 20-page Word file I received, the file looked fine until I applied track changes and made the first edit. At that point, 2 pages of text disappeared (the entire file was Calibri 11 size). The disappearing text was all in a couple of text boxes separate from the rest of the file. If I did a search, it would point to the white screen, but I could not view it except in Web layout, which is unsuitable for track changes. Unfortunately, all my supervisors say they can see the text that I cannot see.
I know that Word 2011 is notorious for not reading fonts, but this file is all in the same font/size. How can I see the hidden text before I lose my job?

Have you tried Word for Mac?

Tagging text boxes so that they are read in a particular order

I created a one page MSWord 2007 document that contains a screen image in the middle with numbered text boxes around it explaining the various features found in the image. The numbered boxes go clockwise around the image. How can I set this up so that when it's converted to PDF, the PDF screen reader will read the items in the proper order? Is it even possible to do this??

Thank you for your quick response to my question! I am not an experienced Adobe user, so I had to search for the functions you suggested.
I could not find the "Acrobat Tags pane". Is this in MSWord or in Acrobat? I figured out how to add 'text' tags in Acrobat, because the option to add 'paragraph' tags was not there. I also figured out how to change the reading order of the tags and confirmed the order was correct with the 'read out loud' tool. However, I can't figure out how to retrieve the "Page Thumbnails pane". Adobe sure likes to make things complicated!!
One other question, when I created the 'text' tags for each of my text boxes, the number image I used within the text box was not captured. I guess that makes sense since the text box is tagged as 'text and the number image is an image'. I suppose the order in which the content is read aloud is important, but hearing the numbers isn't. The numbers correspond to numbers on the image, which they may not be able to see. I used the pop-up text from various buttons/tabs/icons from the web page (which is the image I am explaining in this document) and used that text in the text boxes, where applicable. I think this makes the document as accessible as possible....

Working with images – Resizing, Add arrow & text boxes etc

I am using RH HTML for updating our Web application Help from
RoboHelp V3 to V6. It involves lot of images. I found the picture
quality good only using Word in the combination of
RoboScreenCapture.
I need to confirm that the method and steps for capturing
images using Word & RoboScreenCapture will work reliably for
both WebHelp and Printable output in Word. Please review my
detailed steps as listed below and give me your suggestions.
Here are the detailed steps I took for each method:
Starting with Resize & RoboScreenCapture:
1. From our Web application I took the screenshot.
2. I pasted the screenshot in Resize tool and resized it.
3. Opened the RoboScreenCapture, went back to the Resize tool
and by using the Screen Capture Hot key - Cntrl+Shift+R, I captured
the region. The captured screen popped up in the RoboScreenCapture
tool.
4. I drew an arrow on the image and the text box and also
entered the text in the text box. Then I saved the image in the
RoboScreenCapture.
5. Opened up the RH Html. Opened up the Web Help project file
which I am updating and pasted an image in wysiwyg.
Result
The image was not very clear looking in wysiwyg.
In Paint:
1. From our Web application I took the screenshot.
2. I pasted the screenshot in Paint, stretch the image form
100% to 80%. The quality of the image reduced dramatically.
3. Opened the RoboScreenCapture, went back to the Paint and
by using the Screen Capture Hot key - Cntrl+Shift+R, I captured the
region. The captured screen popped up in the RoboScreenCapture
tool.
4. I drew an arrow on the image and the text box and entered
the text in the text box. Then I saved the image in
RoboScreenCapture.
5. Opened up RH Html. Opened up the Web Help project file
which I am updating and pasted an image in wysiwyg.
Result
The image was not very clear looking in wysiwyg.
Finally, with Word:
1. From our Web application I took the screenshot.
2. I pasted the screenshot in Word, resized it. While in Word

I recently tried the Microsoft Fax and Image viewer (the
freebie with XP) and reduced the window size dramatically. With a
photographic image it was very good. A quick test suggests it might
be good with text as well.

Move from one text box to another w/o using tool box

I'm constantly needing to move from one editable text box to another editable text box -- or to a vector graphic and back to a text box. I'd love a keyboard shortcut to move around if there is one. Having to constantly click the cursor in the tool box to activate a text box is so tiresome.

As I (mis)understand it, from other tools to the Type Tool, you can just press the T key.
Unfortunately, you cannot press the relevant other key with any kind of Type object selected because that will just add that letter somewhere.
You can see the keystrokes for the different tools when you hover over them.

How do you keep text box formatting data after saving and closing a PDF? (Acrobat XI)

I love that Acrobat XI has the feature "Edit Text & Images". It saves me and my company time when modifying PDFs for our clients. Though I am having some formatting woes...
When I insert a new text box into the document, I can span the entire text box from top to bottom of the page. I can type whatever I want in it and it makes it simple for editing later. Though, when I save the document, close it, and reopen it, all the text that was in one huge text box is broken out into multiple text boxes (per line of text). This makes it a pain to do any edits to the document because the text overlaps and does not wrap (different text boxes over one another). How can I stop this from happening? Is there a way to combine multiple text boxes maybe? What is the best solution to this issue? (running trial version of Acrobat XI on Win7 64-bit)

Why we have chosen not to use comments is due to the how jumbled they become on a page. We are basically going back and putting detailed annotations/footnotes (with numbered markers) to identify what portion of the page the functionality lives/exist. Comments also sometimes close so you cannot find them very easily...
I have just figured out with this form text field solution, I can't use underlined text...sigh...

Issue with 'text box' in rtf sub template for peoplesoft XMLP

In my Sub template i have a text box ( i am using text box bcoz i want to justify the text not to the page margin but starting from a specific column.not sure if there is any other way with which i can do the same !!) . It works fine when i remove the text box from my sub template. I tried to put the text box directly in the main template and it worked fine !! it is erroring out only when i use the text box in sub template !!

i got the below error when i tried to 'preview' the report from my report definition.
Error generating the report output: During calling method PTFOProcessor.generateOutput, the XDO engine throws an exception:NULL. (235,3101) (235,2309)
Error occurred during the process of generating the output file from template file, XML file, and the translation XLIFF file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Something like XAE or "K" after PAY Value in the xml tag and continued the text value. (Tag value is not getting copied exactly here - i am sorry for that )

How do you edit text that is in a text box? I just want to change the font color of the text. Solution in the Help files recommends selecting the text and then selecting Optional) To make further changes to the text box:
   Using the Select tool or the Text Box tool, click an edge of the text box to select it, and then drag a corner to resize it. Use the Properties toolbar to change the border and fill options.
   Double-click the text box to edit the text or change the text attributes. Drag across text to select it, and then select options from the Properties toolbar.
This is what the help files recommend

When I try the above solution I don't have a "Options" in the "Properties" toolbar.
Why would they change a process that was so simple in previous editions to such a hidden awkward process?

Try with a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer and/or changing the blending mode.
If the effect is too much for the rest of the bulb, you may be able to mask it out.
It would help if you post a representative picture here on the forum page for us to look at.
