Pop up windows (eg alert box) has no borders and no "X" in top corner to close it

when a pop up window opens when running a javascript program, the window has no borders. Can I post a screenshot to show you? the same progrem runs fine in IE.

I have reverted to FF 3.16.6 and the window works fine again so definitely a FF4 issue.In FF4 I also found that if two window.prompt() boxes are in the same javascript program the second one shows a message asking if the user wants to prevent further scripts running as if there is an infinite loop. Any help appreciated.

Sorry, but I have already tried this too and verified that the web addresses are listed as Allow, rather than Block. After restart there was no difference, I still get the disappearing pop-up windows.

Have you heard of any issues like this occurring based on the number of tabs that are open in Firefox?
Just a thought, even though I have not heard of this as an issue before. I keep about 80 tabs open regularly, because of research that I am always conducting (I am a blogger, a writer/author, a technophile-especially Green Tech.,), email, work, etc.?
I do have a check in the box for Firefox to let me know if the number of open tabs is causing slow down or other issues.

How do I dis-able the pop-up blocker when the box is not checked and yet, pop ups are being blocked?

I want to totally disable Mozilla's pop-up blocker. I went to the tools/options page and found that the pop up blocker box is not checked but it is still blocking pop-ups. I see that others are having the same problem. How do we fix it, or, is this a programming issue and if so, is Firefox fixing it? It is quite annoying.

Could you click the Exceptions button to the right of "Block pop-up windows" and make sure none of those sites is specifically blocked?
If you have unchecked the box and there is no site-specific setting, that usually does it...
Is it possible that an add-on is doing the blocking? A standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."
Check the Options dialog > Content to make sure the pop-up blocker is turned off.
If popups now work correctly, this points to one of your extensions as the most likely culprit. If you restart in normal mode, you can try disabling (or adjusting the options of) any that seem possibly popup-related (e.g., security related) here:

Please help! A very annoying pop up window called "Mac Keeper" keeps popping up.

There are two possibilities: either the router has been hacked to direct DNS queries to a malicious server, or it's using the right DNS servers, but those servers have been hacked. The first possibility is more likely.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions to reset the router to the default state. Usually that involves inserting the end of a straightened paper clip or a similar tool into a pinhole somewhere in the back of the device, and pressing a switch inside for about 15 seconds. The pinhole may be marked "RESET."
Repeat the initial setup process. Make sure the router does not allow remote setup from the Internet (WAN port), if it has that feature—most do. The DNS servers should be set automatically by your ISP. If you still have trouble with those servers selected, contact your ISP.
Another option, if your ISP fails to secure its servers promptly, is to use an alternative DNS service such as Google DNS or OpenDNS. I don't recommend either one. Don't believe the marketing hype about OpenDNS, in particular. There are no advantages to using it if your ISP is delivering the service you pay for.
If you have a wireless network, it must be secured with WPA 2 encryption. The passwords for the network and the router must each be a string of at least 10 random upper- and lower-case letters and digits, and they should be different. Any password that you can remember is weak.

TS1717 What can be done if Windows keeps saying iTune has a problem and shuts down.

2. turn off firewall
3.run virus scan
4.open new account

# afterwards go to the firefox menu [[Image:New Fx Menu]] > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.

CR2011 - Subreport has no borders and should

In CR2011, I have a report that has a subreport as part of it. The subreport "frame" in the parent report is defined as having a border on all 4 sides, but when the report comes u, there is no border. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Edit: That's not exactly the case. It has a border in CR, but when I export to Excel, that field has no border. All the other fields on the report DO have borders, but they're not subreports. The subreport itself doesn't have borders set for the field I display on the parent.
Edit2: I need to have the borders around the field in Excel even if the data is null. I do NOT have Suppress if Null set.

Yes that is true. Borders are not drawn for fields with no value.
As a workaround you can create a formula instead and apply the border on this field:
if isnull({database_field}) or not({database_field} > 0) or not({database_field} = "") then
space(1) else totext({Sheet1_.Eid})
What this does is, if the field is null or if it's a number field with value less than or equal to zero or if it's a blank string field then it inserts a space character. This space character is what enables the border to be drawn.

[CS5/JS/ScriptUI]: All contents is removed from tabbedpanel when showing alert box or other Window.

When I open a new window (an alert box, another scriptUI window, or an old style InDesign dialog) from my non modal ScriptUI interface, the contents inside all tabs on the tabbedpanel of the window disappear completely, and the last tab is selected.
Other controls, outside the tabbed panel (but in the same window) are left untouched.
I suspect the error has to do with the tab control. I have been able to recreate the error in an extremely simple window, and I attach the code below.

The interface works well in CS4, and also if I make the window modal (by creating it as a "dialog").
In CS5, the result is this:
Calling layout.layout() or layout.resize() doesn't do anything.
If someone else would like to try my code, do you get the same effect?
Is the behaviour known?
Is there a way to prevent this from happening for non modal ScriptUI windows?

Thanks Marijan, for testing and letting me know!
I filed a bug report now. We would perhaps have to "force" a couple of our clients to an upgrade from CS5 to CS5.5 in order to beat this bug and get it working, unless Adobe acknowledges it quickly, which I don't count on.
No good news then... I took for granted that the interface would work in CS5 if I made it in CS4.
(The thing that I was mostly concerned about was a tree view which I tested in Mac/PC and on CS4/CS5. Not the "tabbed panel"...)
