Pop up won't go away... Can't access safari

I opened a web page, same one I do several times a week to watch a tv show ( have been using the same site for the past 4+ Years), and a pop up popped up with an additional pop up box with an "okay" to click and it just keeps coming back. It says malware detected call this number. Yea, those pop ups come up all the time as spam scam and I can cancel out of them. But this one just won't go away. I can't cancel out or access safari preferences to delete history. I Did a reboot at and all previous pages came right back, same thing when I force quit. How do I fix this. Please help!

Force Quit .
Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time. Wait.
When Force Quit window appears, select the Safari if not already.

    What OS?
What screen display settings do you have?
Try changing the screen display settings in Windows or OSX to increase the resolution?

Which OS X is installed on your Mac ?
Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac. The version is noted there.
Troubleshooting advice can depend on that information.

Force close the App Store app and reset the iPad. No data will be lost when you reset the device.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • I can't access safari after exchanging faulty phone for a new one today

I have just had my first iphone exchanged today at the apple store for a new one - faulty microphone.  They started it all up for me, and I came home and synced all my apps etc.  But i found that they weren't downloading and I couldn't access safari and therefore couldn't open up gmail etc.  So I decided to restore my iphone to original settings.  That has helped with being able to download all my apps but I still can't access safari.  I'm not sure what to do now.  And feel that I will have to return to town and get it sorted out, unless someone can help me here.

Is the Safari icon there? If it isn't, check your Restrictions in Settings<General<Restrictions. Safari may have been turned off.
If it is there, what is happening when you connect to the internet? You may want to reset your network settings in Settings<General<Reset<Network Settings

  • I can't access Safari any longer. Each time I click on icon it states "not a valid address". Deleted Safari and reloaded it, but that didn't help. The same message keeps coming back, "not a valid address". Any ideas?

I can't access Safari any longer. Each time I click on the icon, it states that "the address is not valid".
I've even deleted the Safari and downloaded it again, but the same message persists. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

address bar wasn't accessible, so I did the Toolbar drag back. The invalid address is set as home page in Safari - Preferences - General.
Tried opening safari again holding the shift key, but made no difference Andy.
Can I just type in a new address in "home page in Safari - Preferences - General"?

  • Pop Up won't go away!!!

Yesterday I was having Facebook issues. So I searched online for tips. I heard about FourSquare and how people seemed to like it better. So I downloaded it to my phone. When it was finished, I got this pop-up that filled the screen that says "The application FourSquare has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy." Which, fine ... but the pop-up WILL NOT go away. I can't fix it. I can't go to the normal screen. On the popup there's a little red "ok" button that won't let me click it to go away. I've tried turning my phone off and on a few times. I've tried pulling the battery a few times. Is there a re-set button somewhere I don't know about? Is there anything else I can do?? Please, I can't use my phone at all.
    HELP!

Just so you know ... my problem is fixed. I downloaded the latest Desktop Manager and connected my phone to my computer. I opened Apploader and deleted Foursquare from my phone. It rebooted itself and when it turned back on, the pop-up was gone!!!

  • Sstem preferences - Network - this message pop up won't go away

This is an Airport card I installed in the iMac G4, so I'm not sure if it's called Airport Express per se.
    Here's my issue:
I just connected to the internet via Airport Card. So when I go into System preferences, click 'Network', this drop down message that reads 'Your network settings have been changed by another application' keeps popping down. Even after I click 'OK', it just keeps coming & coming. So I can't get it to go away.
Here's what happened. Airport card is installed. Then, I turned on airport by clicking on the grey Airport icon on tool bar right hand side. Got it turned on. I also click 'Open Internet Connect' to check status. Does this have anything to do with the annoying pop down message? Now I can't get into System preferences, Network pane at all.
Also, how do I go about setting a password to prevent something from using my wireless connection. I noticed that when I click the Airport icon, other wireless networks also show up.
I could get on some other network, but for others, a window pops up with 'Wireless Security: WPA Personal, and asks for password. How do I get my wireless network to do the same?
    Thanks.

    This Web page
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=576199
suggests going from the top level of your main disk to /Library/Preferences, then moving the folder SystemComfiguration out of there (perhaps to the Desktop for temporary storage until you want to delete it). Reboot your Mac, then redeclare your network preferences and see if things work better.

  • Have WIFI connection but can't access Safari or App store, nothing.  Can anyone help??

I have just bought a iPad 2 WI-FI 16G today.  I have a full WI-FI connection but can't access the App store or Safari for any webpages, can anyone help?
    Thanks!!!!

Despite what you call, "a full WiFi connection", you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid local network IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power to the router for 30 seconds and then  restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • I have an older iMac desktop with OSX 10.6.8 on it. I mistakenly added a Safari update for OSX 10.9 and now I can't access Safari at all.  Is there anyway to uninstall the .0.9 update and keep my old bookmarks, etc. or do I have to delete it ?

I have an iMac with OSX 10.6.8 & I mistakenly added Safari for OSX 10.9 on it and now I can't use Safari.  Is there any way to uninstall the newer Safari and leave my older version with its bookmarks, etc. or do I have to delete it and reinstall the proper update ?

Let it go... these DL's take forever, depending on the spped of your connection and the traffic on the servers.
If by morning it is still sitting there restart and the DL should pick up from where it left off.

  • My iPad shows Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding. How can I access Safari?

I cannot acces Safari (for the past three days) A message shows 'Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding. How can I rectify this?

Well, you are accessing Safari.  It's just that there's a page it's trying to access on the web, one that you last used, and that website is not available.  When looking at the dead page in Safari, tap the lower right icon to shrink down the page and then tap the "x" to get rid of it.  You can then try going to another site.

I have an apple2 for about 3 months and everything was fine, but now when I try to access safari it doesn't open what can I do

Have you tried a "hard reset"? If so, I would take the phone to an Apple store. If not,
    1. Make sure the phone is OFF
    2. Hold the HOME button and then press the power button and HOLD IT.
    3. Hold both buttons until the phone comes ON, goes OFF and come ON again (about 45 seconds)
    4. Re-sync with iTunes.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT4651 Malware pop-ups won't go away!

Help - a couple of pop-ups appeared when I typed in Facebook address wrong, now I can't get rid of them, Safari won't let me close it down, and Shutdown doesn't work, saying Safari hasn't allowed it to, until I quit Safari, which I can't. What to do?!

Thanks - no force-quit seems to come up from Safari icon, just a Quit, which doesn't do anything.
If all you saw was QUIT in the menu, you probably did not have the OPTION key held when you clicked on the option.  That is, press the OPT (option) key when you click.
If you're at 10.7.2, your system is down-revision.  Please run software update.  Click on the Apple menu in the upper left, and select Software Update.
Beyond Java (which is not installed on Lion and later, by default), another common target for security attacks is Adobe Flash.  I've removed that from most of the that systems that I deal with.  Visit the Adobe web site and use their deinstaller to get rid of the Flash Player tool.  (If you don't remove it, you'll find you're updating that tool fairly regularly, and OS X will automatically disable a down-revision Flash Player in recent versions, pending the update or the removal.)

  • Pop-ups won't go away

I keep getting pop-ups when I get on safari. It get a pop-up on the top of my browser but I can't exit out of it and on the side. Sometimes, when I click on link, it redirects me to a website that I didn't intend to go to. I went to safari-preferences-extensions, and turned it off. I still keep getting these pop-ups. How do I get rid of all this?

This can happen if adware is installed without your knowledge.
    1. Use  free  AdwareMedic to remove adware
        http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php
Install , open,  and run it by clicking “Scan for Adware” button   to remove adware.
       Once done, quit AdwareMedic.
                 or
Remove the adware manually by following the “HowTo” from Apple.
       http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203987
    2. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Turn those off and relaunch Safari.
Turn those on one by one and test.
