Pop ups not popping up

I use my Mac to print postal labels. When you do this from USPS website, the label will open up in a PDF file (I believe) so I can and review and print. I tried this yesterday several times and it just wouldn't work. My pop up blocker is turned off, I have cleared cache, history and it does say printer is ready. I printed some priority labels just a week and half go with no problem. I did have an issue at Paypal trying to do the same and called for support and found out my pop up was on but I ended up canceling the transaction anyway. I have no problem printing a document or an article off the web. I have updated my Adobe reader which the USPS recommend. Nothing. My guess is there is somthing preventing this pop up (if that's you want to call it) from opening up.

There is a workaround that I always use, because I hate being blocked. Just go into Menu>Window>Activity. It shows everything that has happened recently with your computer. You should see one that says USPS or something like that. Click on the little triangle that brings down everything you did with that website. There should be one that says .pdf or something like that. It's usually the largest file (it lists the size, usually in KB on the right). Just double click, it will open up in a new window. Print. Done.
This should work.

Images inside pop-ups not displaying correctly

I am generating a CHM using RoboHelp 10. I have certain pop-ups in some topics. These pop-ups contain screen shots. After generating the CHM, when I click the pop-ups to view the screen shots, they are not displayed correctly. That is, half of the image does not appear and there are no horizontal scroll bars either to scroll. This happens for pop-ups that are appear on the left side of a topic.The images inside pop-ups that appear to the right side of a topic appear fine when clicked.

Thank you for the response. Alas, updating the DHTML effects doesn't help. In the project that am working, I have used hyperlinks that are marked to be displayed as auto-sizing pop-ups.
I also tried editing the eHlpDhtm.js file as mentioned in the thread here, https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1297423#expires_in=86399993&token_type=bearer&access_token =eyJhbGciOiJSUzI1NiIsIng1dSI6I…. But that was of no avail either.
Do you have any other insights here?

Allowed pop ups not showing

I have allowed certain sites to display pop ups. For some reason they will not display in either a new tab or new window. No message shows at all.
I'm using Vista with FF 3.6

Bex WebAnalyzer pop ups not allowing

When I execute a query, in the web analyzer the output tables are displayed but I couldnt select dynamically the variables pop ups are not allowing.

In the end of this string, add the following statement: "&variable_screen=x"
This will solve the issue.

New breed of pop-ups not being blocked?

Websites are using some sort of pop-up that doesn't get blocked like the normal ad type pop-up? Usually the pop-up ask some sort of question when you first visit the site(i.e. would you like to sign up for our news letter, etc..) . These pop-ups are annoying because you have to close them before you can see the page contents you are visiting. Yahoo mail uses one of theses pop-ups when you log out of your email asking you to make yahoo.com your home page.
I've noticed that these pop-ups are becoming more frequent and more websites are using them. BigFishgames.com just popped one at me about a new game they've added.
I am getting tired of having to close these pop-ups all the time!
Does any one know how to stop them?

Pop-Ups and Pop-Unders

Why am I still getting pop-ups when I've checked "Block Pop-Up Windows". I'm tired of time wasting ads!
While I'm at it, is there any way I can block pop-under ads? I leave sites and see 1, 2, 3, 4 ads all piled up under where my Safari window was.

I add some "block sites" filters in my router; cruise the web with java and javascript off most of the time, and same for plug-ins.
Salon was giving me some pop-unders until I added a rule and marked it as "unsafe."
I think Safari has played loose with what it blocks or allows, or how adservers get around that. And adservers and sites relying on SQL can be infected "SQL-Injection" is still popular.
Delete your history cache and cookies when you exit or login... don't leave any "crumbs" of who or where you travel.
No java/javascript disables most. And doesn't affect most of what I need to do.
Maybe use 3 browsers depending on what you do. Most browser now but not Safari, allow launching in Private Browsing Mode.

PDF Pop-ups Not Opening In Browser

For someone here at work, when they're in the campus web-based HR reporting system and they run a report, instead of popping the PDF up into a browser window/tab, she gets a download dialog box (save or cancel, etc).
I have reset the 'open PDF in browser' internet setting for her within Adobe Reader (i.e. deselected it, closed, reopened and reselected that option).
IE's pop-up blocker is off.
Still the problem persists.
To check on whether it may be something not getting through from a GPO in the AD, we had her log onto another like computer in the same office, and everything works fine on that one.
System details:
Win7 Ent. 64
Adobe Reader X
IE 8 (required for this site I think)
Latest Java
I have even completely uninstalled/cleaned out everything Adobe and Java and reinstalled after reboot and check disk.
Any ideas what's going on here?

The Adobe Reader plugin may not work properly on Mac and the recommendation in the past was to disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) and use the external Adobe Reader application or Preview application.
Note that there are other things that may need attention.
Your System Details list shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: "Open with"; do not double-click).
The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
You can delete the user.js file if you didn't create this file yourself.

Calendar pop-ups not available in portal but appearing in BAB

Hi,
When I execute Sales Order transaction through BAB, certain fields with Date values are having pop up icon through which calender opens up, but same thing when executed through protal does not show such icon through which calendar can be opened, only the text field appears.
What could be the problem ? same thing I am executing
through BAB, it goes fine and in Portal its not showing

Vishal, can you check the data type of the fields that do not show the date picker pop-up. I think these fields are not of type 'DATS' which prevents the trigger the actual pop-up. EIther you have to add the date picker functionality ourself (not easy), for more information on the actual date picker fuctionality have a look at the BSP Application: "HTMLB_samples". Some Internet hypertext links or pop-ups not reacting

Please, please I really need some help. I am about to throw Windows Vista and my Toshiba out the window!!
For whatever reason some internet links that I try and click on - from trusted sights just don't work - I get absolutely no reaction from my PC - it does not even say not-responding, it is almost as if it has ignored my action of clicking on the link. When I try the same exercise on another machine using Windows XP it works fine.
Similarly Ithe pop-up to allow me to load photographs at blogspot.com just ignores the fact that I have clicked on it.
I have trawled through all the security options. Changed each one and tried again, unfortunately I have not had any success. Has anyone out there got any ideas? I would be most grateful.

This issue is understandable and there is definitely not a kind of magic solution. If you wrote about some pages how we should understand your problem.
Can you please send the link of those famous pages? I would like to test it with my notebooks (Vista and WXP).

On this excel spreadsheet, there is a section where you input a value by choosing a menu that pops up. Does Numbers not support this feature at all?

Given the extension name, I assume that the sheet is an Excel 11 one.

Is there a keyboard shortcut to close all unselected windows (background windows). This is for pop ups not blocked by the safari block pop up preference. This would be different to [cmd q] as it would leave the selected window with her tabs active...

None that I know of - Option clicking a tab 'x' closes all others, but doesn't work for windows, here.
Between Ghostery & Adblock Safari extensions, you'd rarely see a pop-up at all.

How to block new generation of pop ups and "pop ins."

There seems to have been a sea change in website design lately. In particular there appears to be a new generation of pop up windows that appear after a certain amount of time has elapsed or when one scrolls far enough down on the page. Many are designed to "pop in" from the sides; these ones usually slide into view almost as an animation.
I have pop up blocking enabled in FF and I have tried a couple of add-ons but I am not able to defeat these "features." Any advice is appreciated.

They are actively driving me off of some sites. I can't believe anyone would re-implement this "feature" after so many people opted out by using popup blockers in the past. Thanks for the info though. Cheers.

Since I uploaded Firefox 4.0 on my iMac, I get a lot more pop-ups. Pop-up blocker is enabled and the pop-ups are coming from Firefox (that is, there is a star in the location bar). Any ideas how to get rid of this nuisance? Thanks!

Yes, I'm using the default theme.
I've only installed some add-ons. Everything else is as it is upon initial installation of FF4.0.
Apart from the "Status-4-Evar" add-on, I'm using the same set of add-ons as I had in Firefox 3.6, again just the default theme, and had no issues with stretched icons.
I've tried turning "hardware acceleration" on and off, but it makes no difference, the stretching will occur either way.
