POP3 email settings on 6303

I have set up the appropriate server addresses etc on my 6303 for access to my Easyspace POP3 mailbox, but when trying to connect I get the error message "Server does not support authentication value. Check settings". I've checked the settings with Easyspace who say they are OK and my network provider (Vodafone UK) says it's up to Easyspace. Anyone know what generates this particular error message? If I can fine it down to a particular setting I can experiment with that but I've not had any success varying settings so far.
Jan

The conclusion, after no useful help from Nokia, Vodafone or easyspace was that the email software version on this phone type is quite old and just not compatible with the settings on the iomart pop server to let me login, as it works with other web email accounts with no problem. And my easyspace/iomart email works fine on an existing SonyEriksson phone.
I know easyspace use some settings to block email from servers without reverse DNS to reduce spam. As i have to use an alternate web account to communicate with some of my customers. So i presume something similar may be blocking the login from thie nokia handset software.
I will probably never know but I ended up having to sell the phone instead of changing hosting provider and have started looking for a new phone!

  • Casio Commando - No POP3 email settings

My personal POP3 email account stopped working on my Casio Commando about 3 weeks ago. I have since deleted the account from the phone and when I went to add it back on, there are no POP3 email account settings. When I open Settings/Accounts, then "Add account", my choices are only, Corporate, Facebook, Backup Assistant, Cloud and Google. I have already force closed the email app, and when I click on it, the choices are Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo, Windows Live Hotmail, AOL, Gmail, Verizon.net, and Other. When I open "Other", it is asking for a user name and password, but there is no place for the account settings. Am I missing something, or is my phone?

More like the application on the phone. http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/information/mobile-email-app-discontinued.html

Does anyone have the correct pop3 mail settings for "google mail" i've set up my yahoo account via the nokia site but it does not have the google details, and have been told they need to be manual entered,my service provider is Vodafone

Gmail has its own application you can install on some handsets to access your Gmail account - it's really good, and will let you view by inbox/starred/labels etc.
    Well worth getting:

  • LG Ally - deleting pop3 emails from trash folder

I have three pop3 email accounts set up on my LG Ally. All work great - however, deleting the all the emails in the trash folder is cumbersome. Is there a way to delete all the emails in the "trash folder" at one?  I can only seem to delete them by tapping each email individually and then tapping delete. This is a really slow process.
Also, is there a way to adjust my pop3 email settings so that the trash folder is deleted automatically every so often?
    Thank you!

There is not a delete all option to delete all the emails at once for  the default email application.   You also can not set a schedule to delete the trash folder.   There are other email applications with more customization options on the Android Market Place.

  • Email Settings Wiped Out on Regular Basis - Phone Network Issue?

Not sure where to post, but the CEO of our company has had an ongoing issue with his Droid X, and actually I suspect it being a phone network problem.  On a consistent basis when he travels from our office to his weekend home about 100 miles from us, his phone loses the POP3 email settings for our company email which is setup on his phone.  The account settings appear normal, yet we have to re-enter them and then turn the phone off and on again in order to get the email to go through.  VERY FRUSTRATING.  Anyone else have this issue?  Specifically we are traveling from Birmingham, AL to Selma, AL.  There is nothing he is doing to his phone causing the issue and it is not the email account as we have other users on the Verizon network in the area that do not have the problem, though they do not travel that route.
I would GREATLY appreciate hearing from anyone as Verizon customer service at the local store claims they have never heard of the issue.

  • HT1430 Hello, email settings correct, can not send emails from the ipad,

****, I HAVE ENTERED ALL MY EMAIL SETTINGS CORECTLY INTO MY IPAD FROM MY EMAIL ACCOUNT ON MY PC AND I CANNOT SEND EMAILS FROM IPAD  , WHAT AM I DOING WRONG CAN YOU HELP PLEASE

it could be one of many reasons, is it giving you a reason why it is not sending emails?
I know you said everything is the same as your PC email settings, but I would double check, also the iPad will tend to default to IMAP, so if you are using POP3 for your email, you may need to change the settings on the mail server. For example Gmail default to POP3 and needs IMAP turning on.
What email account are you using? Who is it with?

  • Is there a workaround app for syncing shared POP3 email?

    Hello,
I wonder if a lot of families have this problem. I have a POP3 email ,verizon.net, that is our family email shared between my wife and I. I am tired of deleting the same emails from my iPad and my iPhone over and over so I am looking to find a way to set it up like this:
verizon.net email goes to my wife's devices and my devices
when I delete an email, it deletes from all of my devices and none of hers (i have an iPad, macbook, and iPhone)
when she deletes an email it deletes from all of hers and none of mine. (she has an iPhone and macbook)
So its kind of like a POP3 server splitting to two separate IMAP servers;  my wife's and mine.
I have tried automatic forwarding on verizon's end but I can only forward to one address and it causes issues with return addresses not matching when I reply so emails get identified as spam more often. In addition, when I do forward email automatically on verizon's server side (not on the client) it is no longer delivered to the original email account.
We want to avoid changing email addresses and verizon only offers POP3.
    Any ideas everyone?

Nope, its a POP server acting like a pop server where the settings on each device have it so email is left on the server and only deleted from the devices.
This means all devices can download the email from the server, but its never really removed from the server, only from the devices upon deletion, unless one of the devices is set to have it deleted from the server when its deleted from the device.
Basically, what you want is not possible, as you want an IMAP functionality on only specific devices. IMAP is designed to sync actions across all devices using the account.  Because basically what happens is actions take place on the server, and then trickle down to the devices.
On POP accounts its the opposite. Actions take place on the Devices and then if configured as such may move up to the server.

  • Iphone and Outlook pop3 email

    Hello,
I know there's a known issue with having outlook open and the iphone on at the same time with pop3 email accounts. is there another way around this issue besides creating an additional email account and forwarding those emails to the iphone?
the reason i am asking this is, when you respond to a message from the iphone, it responds from the additional email account which confuses users sometimes. or is there a workaround for fix for this problem? i don't have the exact message in front of me but i believe it says something like this 'another program is managing your email...'.
with my hotmail account i don't have this issue. this is because hotmail is imap not pop3? please correct me if i'm wrong.
any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    have a great day!

It sounds like Outlook is set to remove messages from the server when retrieving email.
Try clicking on File-->Account Settings-->Select your account and click change-->click More Settings-->click the Advanced Tab and check the box to leave a copy of the emails on the server.
You can then also choose to have the emails removed from the server after x number of days or when the email is deleted from the Deleted Items box

Yes, the message is legitimate, and yes, you must eventually change server settings as described.  You may find this onerous, and you're not the first person to face this issue, but eventually it must be done.
This topic has really been beaten to death in the forums.  I'd say your best bet is to type "thunderbird" into the "Ask the Community" search box at the top of the page and start reading.  There's a vast amount of detail there.
My impression is that just about everyone eventually gets the settings right, after which the system works as desired.  Still it may take some doing.  Good luck.

  • Can I back & restore up my pop3 emails???

I have a iphone 4 using pop3 email (GMX) which is good, no problems there. However if I want to back up and restore these emails from my iphone 4 to my new iphone 4s this is apparently not possible. Accoring to Apple support today when you do a back up the emails are NOT backed up, I mean, what is that all about, I thought that a backup was a backup, apparently not and I find this very, very dissapointing and it may be enough to send the 4s phone back.
Anyone have any ideas if this is possible?
    Thanks,
    Ally

You can backup and restore all your email settings, but not the emails themselves. (except for some web-based email systems like yahoo.com)

  • Can I sync my talktalk/Pop3 emails using iCloud?

I do not want to change from using my talktalk / pop3 email address to my icloud address. Is there a way that I can sync these emails across my iPad and PC? I have icloud up and running on both devises and use Outlook 2010 on th PC.

No, iCloud does not (and technically can not) 'sync' external POP3 email accounts.
If you want your email to be 'in sync' across multiple computers and devices, it just needs to be setup as IMAP (not POP3) on every device. You do not need iCloud to do this, and if you don't want to use an iCloud supplied email address then it couldn't help you with this anyway.
Contact your email provider and ask them for the IMAP email settings. Not all email providers offer IMAP, although most modern ones do. If they don't offer IMAP, then you are stuck. POP3 does not allow 'syncing' of email across multiple devices.
