My hard drive has failed, how do I re-install Lightroom 5.7 and Photoshop 10 onto a new drive marked as a first install?

With Lightroom it doesn't matter. Adobe doesn't track the number of installations for Lightroom. As far as Photoshop is concerned, you'll probably have to contact Adobe.

  • Usb Audio Card - Popps and Cracking Sound.

    Greetings,
My name is Boyan and I am from Bulgaria and about an year ago I've bought a satellite laptop from the l500 series ( i can not state which exactly is the model at the moment because my computer is not currently with me and on my user manual the only thing which is stated is that it is for L500/L505/ L500D / L505D . But by memory I think it was the Satellite L500D-ST5506 which is currently not at my dispossal because I gave it for repair for the same problem which I will state down below)
The problem with my laptop is that when I plug a Usb Audio card in my laptop I have a cracking sound when live sound is played trough the speakers/headphones from the external card. I've tried numerous audio cards and speakers/headpohnes which work perfectly fine with other computer, including laptops but the same problem keeps on showing up in the headphones/speakers of my laptop when I am using an external audio card to connect them to the laptop.
The problem is prominent only when the sound signal passes trough an external audio card and it is very annyoing since I use my laptop to create music and i've bought an expenssive audio card and speakers which can not be used with the laptop. I've tried 3 models of audio cards:
    M-Audio Fast Track Pro
    Behringer uca 222
and a simple external 3d sound usb audio card and the problem still appears.
At first I thought that the problem should be software and I should install new drivers although windows 7 automaticaly recognizes and intalls the drivers for the devices and I have sound in them (but with cracks and popps) so i tried using the official drivers sold to me with the audio cards but with no luck: The problem was still there. I tried finding new drivers of the audio cards on the official distributors websited and i've downloaded them but the problem was still there. Then i tried to delete every audio driver on my computer and just use the external audio card for sound but this dint help eighter. I've updated my drivers for my build-in audio card as well but again - no luck.
After that.the frist thing I did when (2 weeks after i bought the laptop) was to contact the store from which i bought my audio card and they stated that the problem may be eighter latency or high voltage from the laptop so they adviced me to try to lower the latency from the settings or to try and see if the problem remains if my laptop is only running on battery. I've tried both things and they didn't help. The audio cards worked without a problem on every other computer I've tried them on except mine. So they said to me that the problem couldnt possibly be from the audio cards .
What I did next was I gave my laptop to the official distributor of toshiba in my country so they can fix my problem. What they said to me was that the problem is caused from the version of windows which was pre-installed on my laptop and that it wasnt compitable with the audio cards (which was bizzar sounding because I've tried them on the same windows and they've worked, just on other computers). So I got back my laptop and changed my operating sistem from Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit to Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64bit to Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 32bit and on all of those versions the problem was there: whenever I activate a Usb Audio Card and audio signal passes trough it I heard cracks and popps. I even tried isntalling Windows XP but the laptop wants spesific SATA drivers for the installation of Windows XP which although i did find - they didnt help me install XP and I didn't want to go in to the BIOS of the computer to try to put a new one and so on because I am not so sure about that and I could lose my warranty so I said to the official repair store for Toshiba in my town to put XP on my computer to fix the problem but they can't because they are not liscened to operate with software which doesn't have a recipt for its purchase ( which i didnt because i bought my windows xp long ago and i've lost the recipt)
I gave it for repair for the second time telling them that the change of my operating system did not solve my problem and what they did was they changed the whole motherboard on my computer, stating that the build in realtek audio device on my computer is not good enough to support an usb audio card or it maybe broken and they have to change the whole motherboard because the build in card is glued to it, so they did that but my problem wasn't solved. They told me that although I am using and external usb audio card the signal still passes trough my internal one and I have to disable it so i tried disabling it trough the control panel but this did not solve the problem and i do not have an option from BIOS to disable my build-in audio card. Another thing which I thought maybe causing the problem is that the two audio cards aren't working on the same bit rate and Hertz so I set both cards to 16 bit 48000hz DVD Quality (Also tried other options on the 3 cards i have) but...the same thing happend.
They told me that this is just my luck and that the build in audio card doesn't support this external audio cards and I should had been more careful when choosing my laptop at first.
I couldn't accept this awnser for several reasons:
    1) This audio cards work on lower version of windows and are supported by much older models of Realtek and much older computers (one of them was bought 2000!!!!! and my laptop is from 2010!!)
    2) The guys who were fixing the problem apperantley didn't go in so deep in to my problem because they didn't know what actually the problem was they just knew that there is a problem with the audio card and the computer interacting with eachother, they didnt know that there is cracking during live play from the external audio card.
    3) I can not accept the fact that Toshiba is manufacturing models with chipset audio cards which can not support a simple external Usb Audio Card. This is totally unacceptable for me and I truly hope this is not the case!
4)They didn't try my audiocards on an other laptop from the same series stating that they do not have one at their dispossal at the moment so I will go tomorrow to a local store and try the audio cards by my self on the same computer in the store.
What I did now was I gave back my laptop for repair asking for a statement of the problem in wrtting with all details of the problem so I can go to court or ask for a new laptop but I will be charged with some money because according to them there is no problem in the laptop and the problem is that my external audio cards arent compitable with the build in internal chipset audio card. If I give my laptop for repair and there is no hardware problem I will have to pay some money. I will do this but I am now mad, since this will not solve my problem and I am loosing time and money.
What I am asking here is, if you can not help me solve my problem and advice me what to do to fix it, please provide me the details of the chipset build in audiocard on my motherboard, so i can investigate if it is compitable with my external audio cards and contact the audio card dealers to ask them for their opinion. Or if you can tell me with what it is compitable with and with what not, it would be great. I personally think that this laptop should have no problems at all with running a simple external usb audio card but I am asking you, if you know something more about that.
If the problem is from the build in chipset then Toshiba is manufacturing (or at least selling) audiocards which aren't at a normal standart but sadly I cant do nothing about it except complain to Toshiba and never deal whith such productgs anymore. In the other case if this is not true, then my laptop has a problem which is different and I will have to go to court with the repair mans for not fixing my laptop or not giving a new one when I have warranty which will not be Toshiba's fault and It will in a way solve my problem.
I hope you understand how Important this is for me and I hope I resolve the problem as soon as possible.
    P.S
I would like to state that I am well aware of the grammar mistakes I have made in the text below and I would like to ask for your apologies as I am not a native English language speaker.

hi i just like to say i had a similar fault though i would be surprised if it causing yours, but you never know,my fault was my laptop lid, [9 months old] it contains the mic ,and when the lid was in a certain angle crackles could be heard worse when i had my external sound card in, it was a faulty membrane [ lid to body] easily missed by engineer because it was the same angle all the time it happened, good luck, PS you English is very good

  • DE-popper in Logic?

One of those things.  Recorded a whole bunch of good voice-over at a good studio.  Mmmm.  But their speakers and mine, two different things.  I suddenly discover I've got a number of popped P's.  And there is no chance to re-do the voice-over.
I'm wondering if there is a filter in Logic that handles popped P's?  I've used the DE-esser before.  But can't find a DE-popper.  Or, if there isn't anything, does anyone have a suggestion about how to clean up popped P's after-the-fact?  Besides just dipping the level.
    All ears,
    Ben

    Hi Ben,
The best way I personally haave found to do this is to actually go into the waveform, highlight the plosive, and drop it down in level. I have found anywhere from 6 to 12 dB will do the trick. The "p" will still be audible, but the blast of air will have come down enough in volume to go basically unnoticed.
Make a copy of the voice over audio file (always work from a copy), then open the sample editor, zoom in on the waveform of the offending word, and look at the beginning of the waveform. As you zoom in, you'll see the plosive. Highlight it. With it selected, hit the speaker icon in the sample editor. this will play only the highlighted section. You'll instantly recognize that you have found the plosive.
Now select the "Change Gain" function under the sample editor's function menu, and drop the gain. As I said, I have found anywhere from 6 to 12 dB to be the range that works best, depending on the source material.
Yes, depending on how many plosives there are, this can be time consuming, but there really isn't a quick fix. This works significant better and less noticable than automation a low pass filter.

  • Circle popper

I downloaded the freeware game called Circle Popper. I tried playing the game and found that the controls were terrible. When I tried exiting the game my BB completely shut down. The LED indicator was a solid red. After a few minutes I was able to restart the device. It started up as if I had taken the battery out. Thinking that this was a isolated problem I downloaded the game on another BB Curve. Same problem. Is there a glitch in the game? Is the game not compatible with the curve? This is software that is offered on the BB games site.

Sounds like it, I wouldn't install it again ;p

  • USB Live! Sound Blaster 24bit with poppi

Hi. A month or two ago I purchased my usb connected Li've! Sound Blaster 24bit from CompUSA. It has worked fine with my logitech 5. speakers. Yesterday, I bought a 60gig Maxtor harddri've from compusa, also USB. Since I installed that, my sound has been having loud pop sounds once in a while, especially when data is being transfered to the harddri've. I have a 400watt powersuply, amd athlon single core processor, gig ram, onboard harddri've, a geforce nvida 7800gt graphics card. The video card has a printed requirement of 350watts. The harddri've has its own powercord, and the usb that connects it to my PC, and so do the logitech speakers I have both the sound blaster and the harddri've plugged into the rear of my PC.
The poping sound happens about twice, then the sound blaster box makes a click sound and turns off. When I unplug, then plug it back in or press the mute button on it, it comes back on, but I have to restart whatever application that was playing the sound because it no longer works. For instance, if I'm listening to music on iTunes, and the card turns off, I have to close iTunes and reopen it or no sound will come from that application, same goes for media players, web based sound i.e. youtube. When the card turns off, the green and blue light on the front turn off, while I can still see a red glow from the 'optical output' slot.
The only change I made with my PC is plugging in the harddri've. The popping/shutting off of the card happens both when I play sound thats stored on the external dri've, and stuff like my iTunes which is on my internal. The model number of my card is 580490 and the box had a sticker that said '5. home theater audio for your PC' plus another sticker that said '64 bit, Windows XP Pro x64'. I downloaded the drivers for this, but when I tried to apply them, it said they didn't need to be updated. I don't know how to uninstall them.
    Thanks, asukar

    AmusedToDeath,
It's not referring to the cable. That information is referring to your computer USB controller. If your computer USB controller is only USB . then you will face the limitation.

  • My Sound Is Cracking and Popp

Is there something wrong with the audigy2 ZS soundcard? It's not my speakers, and I haven't added any new hardware. About 3 weeks ago it started popping, and crackling. I've been using this computer to do songwriting and recording with a 'Sonar5 Producer' for over a year now with no problem of anything like this noise I'm getting now. The only new software I've?added is 2 games, they are 'Blitzkreig' and 'Pool Of Raidiance'. I did update my bios through Dell, whom?I purchased the computer from. One of their Tech people had me turn off my intergraded sound in order to fix the problem when I called them about it, which it did stop the noise only for about 20 minutes or so, then it started back up again. So I've turn that back on. Does anyone know what is causing this to suddenly flare up?Message Edited by tommy63 on 04--2007:5 AM

This problem is usually due to either the headphones, or the headphone jack itself.
I have had 2 or 3 headphones do this in the past and this was due to the phones themselves.
But my friend had an mp3 player that lost the right half of the sound altogether.
It doesn't matter whether he uses headphones, an FM transmitter or AV stereo cord.
I think this is due to an error in the jack.
I'm afraid I don't know how to fix it myself, but Apple will probably replace it since it is technical not physical.

  • This might get rid of your crackling and popp

I know many of you have tried this so just ingnore, this thread. I went to bios and changed my pci latency. I couldnt believe I didnt think of that a long time ago. I was so fixed on believing it was the drivers (which I still do) that I didnt think of my settings in the bios. My card isnt working like it should but its a whole lot better than it was. I can play cod 2 with eax3 with no prob. Before I couldnt even have 2d sound with the lowest frequency. Now all Im waiting on is the new drivers which will probably come out after they release a new card. This thread is just for someone who doesnt know about bios settings or someone who just forgot.

No matter what supplier you go to they use outsourced call centres also by the nature of forums they carry complaints and problems because those that are happy do not bother to post you can go and look at any isps forum and you will the same complaints

  • Clicks and Popps in FCE

    Hello,
I just started with FCE 3.5. My first project is a iMovie project I started in iMovie and now imported into FCE.
Here is my problem. After adding clips from the browser to the timeline and rendering it the audio makes clicks and pops (I don't now how to explain it best). I don't have the problem with the same clips in iMovie.
    Any advice?
    Thanks and regards

    Hi,
I have no mp3 in the project. The files with the problems are the movie clips. And you are right. iMovie is just great. I get the feeling much better then FCE. Its much more difficult to only achieve the same results then in iMovie. If I just look at the great themes I have in iMovie. I have only switched to FCE because my project last around 90 minutes and iMovie wasn't able to handle it (not this project - the one before) FCE very poorly imports iMovie projects. It doesn't import any transitions and "forgets" half of the timeline.
    Thanks for your feedback

You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.

This trojan is distributed on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect much worse to happen in the future.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that this Internet criminal has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.

I have a selectonechoice with a list of the week number all throughout the year.

Is there a way to achieve this..
    Please guide me
    Regards
    Lutchumaya

    Lutchumaya,
The only way I know of to do this would be to set the value of the selectInputDate to some date in the week you are interested in, but that's probably not what you want to do.

  • Interesting finds on Audigy 2 Clicking and popp

Hi, I thought my card was bad but I see I'm not the only one. I was playing FEAR and noticed the clicking and popping sound. So I saved at the exact point where it was and decided to investigate why. I tried every driver release Creative had for the card. No luck. No IRQ sharing, disabled firewire, cleaned registry, relocated to 3 different PCi slots. Still clicking and popping. Turned off Cool and Quiet and still clicks. So changed the latency settings and still clicks. All that was left to do was mess around with game settings. Sound settings did nothing, EAX nothing, changing hardware excelleration did nothing, and then I finally stopped it. I turned AA off. I had it at 4x, clicked really bad. Put it at 2x and clicking downgraded. Put it at 0 and clicking was gone. Now remember I saved it at a spot that clicked everytime I reloaded the save so this was an experiment with every setting and change I could do to find out what it was. With AA enabled,if I turned the slightest to the left and right, it would click. If I stopped just right it would do a clicking loop. Click, click, click, and wouldn't stop. Just the slightest turn and it would stop. So it has to do with either a driver conflict or conflicts with certain cards. I had it to in HL2. The question is why would aa effect the sound output of the card? Another person here found out the same thing I did but his was in HL2. Turned the settings to what the game wanted and the clicking went away. So now we have to figure out why and some of us will have the problem solved. I know not everyone will be fixed but alot of us will. Here are my system specs:

well, i installed this in a completely different device with minimal hardware and the same problem occurs. seems like the card could have been built with some better shielding. anyways, you would think that if you spend $200 on a piece of hardware, you wouldn't have to spend 0 hours trying to get it to work properly.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum popp

i bought an audigy 2 platinum last night and installed it. as soon as the drivers load, my speakers start crackling. The crackle so loudly that i can barely hear any sound out of them.
    my system specs:
    -abit sr7-8x motherboard
    -p4 2.53 ghz cpu
    -bfg geforce 6800 gt oc
    -2x 52 mb pc 2700crucial ram
    -2x 80 gb maxtor hdd
    -firewire card
-cambridge soundworks csw4300 5. desktop theater speakers
-windows xp pro sp2 with latest security patches
i have done everything suggested on this site:
-pci latency up to the max of 248
    -swapped pci slots
-removed the software, and installed the drivers only.
-removed all related devices and softare in safe mode and reinstalled hardware
-updated to each revision of the audigy 2 drivers
-updated my ide, agp, & lan drivers
-verified that my bios was at the latest revision
-changed my agp aperture size to 256m
-disabled my serial ports in bios
-disabled my onboard sound in bios
-set pnp os to no in bios
-tried a clean boot of windows xp
-turned down video acceleration as recommended
after doing all of that, the speakers are still crackling...if i uninstall the drivers, the noise stops immediately. i am afraid that the audigy 2 zs platinum is going to ruin my speakers if i keep them on.
i was previously running a li've! 5. platinum with no problems from the speakers, and will have to go back to that sound card if i cannot resolve this crackling issue.
    any suggestions/ideas?
