This is definitely a possible solution, if it is acceptable
to download
all those JS arrays.
This greatly depends on how large they are and what type of
network
connections are being used. I.E. one can get away with more
for an
application running on a corporate intranet with high
capacity network
connections as apposed to a application that must work
acceptably for
the poor soul in the backwoods home that still relies on a
56K modem
over copper phone lines to access the internet.
Yes those people still exist, and sometime applications need
to be
written with them in mind.

  • Validating forms using check boxs

    hi i am trying to validate a form using check boxs where all of the elements have the same name. Using the code below it enables validation when only one check box is available, however with muliple check-boxs it goes into and eternal loop and never executes the code! Any help on this matter would be most appreciated.
    <SCRIPT language="javaScript">
    function validate()
    if (!document.myform.pkey.checked)
    alert("Please Select a Questionnaire to delete!!");
         return false;
    </SCRIPT>

    Hi,
    When you have multiple checkboxes with same name, it will form an array of check boxes. So you have to validate them as below.
    flag=0;
    if(chkcntr>1)
    for(i=0;i<frm.ch.length;i++)
         if(frm.ch.checked)
    flag=1;
    break;
    else
    if(frm.ch.checked)
    flag=1;
    if(flag==1)
    //checkbox selected,can give any action
    else
    // checkbox not selected,give alert

  • Populate two additional select boxes from main box...

    hey all -
    i am new at most of this, so please bare with me.
    I am trying to go from one box to the next (twice over), and am having difficulty getting to the third box.
    I have the original box "select1" and it populates "select two" just fine, but i do not have the third population....looking for help in getting a third box.
    I would like box one to populate box two, from the selection in box two, i would like to populate box three, and have that as a selection as well.
    here is what i have so far...
    <script>
    function dropDownChanged(dd)
         if(eval('typeof(' + dd.name.replace(/:/g, "_") + '_children) == \'undefined\'')) return;
         var thisDd;
         if(document.all)
              thisDd = document.all[eval(dd.name.replace(/:/g, "_") + '_childcontrol')];
         else
              thisDd = document.getElementById(eval(dd.name.replace(/:/g, "_") + '_childcontrol'));
         thisDd.options.length = 0;
         var childElements = eval(dd.name.replace(/:/g, "_") + '_children');
         for(var c=0 ; c < childElements.length ; c+=2)
              if(childElements[c] == dd.value)
                   for(var o=0 ; o < childElements[c+1].length ; o+=2)
                        thisDd.options[o/2] = new Option(childElements[c+1][o], childElements[c+1][o+1]);
         dropDownChanged(thisDd);
    </script>
    <script>var opp_childcontrol = 'opp';
    var opp_children = ['no',['------------Select first--------------------','no'],'Coffee Businesses',
    ['selction1','selection1'],'Direct Marketing',['selection2','selection2'],'Employment & Personnel',['selection3','selection3'],'Food-Related Businesses',['selection4','selection4','selection5','selection5','selection6','selection6'],'Printing Businesses',['selection7','selection7'],
    'Senior Care',['selection8','selection8']];
    </script>after the first box is selected, the second box populates great, now i am wanted the "selection1 - selection 8" to populate a third box with information determined by the second selection, that is also a selection that can be chosen by the end user....
    all of this information is sent via web form to a crm...
    can you help me to create this third dropdown list with the ability to select an option from there?
    I would greatly appreciate any and all help you can provide!
    ray

    that sounds good to me....but again, i am not the expert at this by any means...I am going off of what has been given to me in the first script.
    can you assist?
    thanks,

  • How do I correctly use Macro Builder to have a form auto select a TAB depending on a value selected in a combo box?

    I am working in access 2013 to update a database first created in Access 2003. It has been saved as an accdb but I have the same problem in earlier versions.
    I have a Tab Control subform in my MainDataEntry form which has 5 different tabs. Each Tab has its own set of text boxes and combo boxes for data entry. At the top of the MainDataEntry form there is a Text box [Text393], which has a drop down with
    the 5 TAB names, [Mobile Device],[Computer],[Loose Media],[Network] and [Original Device]. When I select one of these values in the Text box, I would like to automatically set focus on the first Textbox or ComboBox inside the corresponding TAB.
    I have tried to do this using the MacroBuilder inside the "After Update" Property for the Text or Combo box that is on the MainDataEntry Form using "If" and "Else If" statements for the "GoToControl" action, however
    I seem to be able to only get one Tab to work. I have tried several different variations of this, putting the If statement first and the action argument second...putting all arguments inside a group, or not grouped....nothing seems to work. What am I
    doing wrong?
    EXAMPLE:
    If [Text393]=[Mobile Device] Then
        GoToControl
             Control Name   Combo471
    Else If [Text393]=[Computer] Then
        GoToControl
    Control Name   Bios_Date
    Else If [Text393]=[Loose Media] Then
        GoToControl
             Control Name   Combo659
    Else If [Text393]=[Network] Then
        GoToControl
             Control Name   User Name
    Else If [Text393]=[Original Device] Then
        GoToControl
             Control Name   Combo814
    End If

    In the Macro Builder's AfterUpdate event for [Text393]:
    GoTo Control
      Control Name =Forms!MainDataEntry.Controls(Text393.Value).Name
    To ensure that the first control on each tab receives the focus, set that control's Tab Index property to zero (0).

    Yes, but you must first answer yourself, "Where does the data
    come from."
    From a user interface point of view you simply use
    JavaScript to access
    the various form control DOM elements and change their values
    on the
    desired events.
    But you have to know where the data can come from. To do it
    without a
    refresh, the client has to already have to data. If there is
    too much
    data do deliver all at once to the client, then you can *not*
    do it
    without some type of request to the server.
    But you can make such a request without refreshing the user
    interface by
    accessing it with other technologies such as asynchronous
    JavaScript and
    XML, popularly known as AJAX.
    Or you could go to a more advanced client interface then the
    HTTP
    browser. Adobes preferred tool is Flex, but that gets you
    back to
    Flash, and I do not know why you are trying to get away from
    Flash so
    that may not be that appealing to you.

  • How to populate values in List Box in Adobe form

    Hi,
    How to populate values in List box in adobe forms?
    Thanks
    RB

    if you want to display a fixed values in the dropdown you can use list box ui and can specify values there
    or if u want to display values from the context node of the webdynpro
    1. Drag and drop a Value Help Drop-down List element from the Web Dynpro Library tab to the Body Pages pane.
    2. Drag and drop your node from the Data View tab onto it. This action binds the layout element to the corresponding node.

  • How to Populate values dynamically in Select Box.

    Hi All,
    I have few select boxes in my webdynpro application. Right now I am populating them using Harcoded values in the Dictionary. But I dont want to harcode the values in the dictionary, i want pull the values from database tables or  text files of EP KM. Just let me know which is the better way to populate the select box without hardcoding & why ?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,

    Hi Aditya,
    Getting values from KM and database is possible
    It depends on your requirement
    ie if the dropdown should contain details of documents from KM or it should display the details in a table
    if it is oracle table see this link
    Webdynpro and Oracle
    if you want to get data from km see this tutorial

  • Add form fields dynamically onchange of a select box.

    I have a JSP page with a <h:form>:

         <h:commandButton id="submit" value="#{Resource.Submit}" />

    function submit() {
         document.forms[0].submit();
         return true;
    }Then the ValueChangeListener defined in a backing bean for the ageRange select box gets called:
    public void updateComponents(ValueChangeEvent e) {
         // Generate components automatically
    }What I want is, when the user changes the value of the ageRange select box, the valueChangeListener should generate a few new text fields in the form and the validator for the e-mail address field shouldn't get called. The validator for the email-address field should only get called once the user clicks on the Submit button.

  • Multiple Select boxes in one form

    Does anyone know if it is possible to have multiple select
    boxes inside one form? I have six different select boxes that are
    generated by six separate queries. The action page for all six
    select boxes is the same so I just want one submit button so users
    don't get confuse. I don't want to cluster up the page with submit
    buttons but I may resort to that option.
    My problem is the select boxes generate a number and when
    that number is submitted I want to pass two other variables with it
    to the action page. I tried putting a "Form" tag around the 6
    select boxes. Inside each select box I tried to add an "Input
    type="hidden"" and give thte name and values that I needed. That
    worked for the first select box but when I tried the second select
    box it used the hidden values for the first select box.

  • Using enums in a form with select elements

    Hi
    I am using an enum to define a discrete list of measurement units:
    public enum dUnits {
            METERS,
            FEETS,
            INCHES,
            CENTIMETERS
        }I also have a form with a list that takes the option values from the enum:
            <select size="1" name="E">
            <%
                for (Class.dUnits U : Class.dUnits.values()) {
                   %>
                     <option value="<%=U%>"  <%=U==bound_bean.value()?"selected=\"true\"":""%>>
                        <%=U%>
                     </option><%
            %>
            </select>E is the field on the bound_bean object. This works without problem, and when I run the JSP page, it works with the initialized values of bound_bean.E (the default value is METERS, the generated code is this:
                 <select size="1" name="E">
                     <option value="METERS" selected="true">
                        METERS
                     </option>
                     <option value="FEETS" >
                        FEETS
                     </option>
                     <option value="INCHES" >
                        INCHES
                     </option>
                     <option value="CENTIMETERS" >
                        CENTIMETERS
                     </option>
            </select>However, when I submit the page with different values on the select box, the values are never being sent to the bean, and it uses only the initialized value.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    The program is a little long to post, but If someone is interested in taking a look, please let me know.
    Best regards,

    I'm using UseBean SetProperties to set the values to the Bean, all the other fields are being populated as expected.
    I have getE and setE
    public void setE(Class.dUnits E) {
            this.E = E;
    public Class.dUnits getE() {
            return E;
        }If I call request.getParameter("E"), I get the value that is selected/expected as a String (i.e. "INCHES")... maybe that's the part where everything falls apart, I think the setE is not able to run due to the type differences. but I don't know what to do next. Overloading setE seems like a good idea, but I just tried that and didn't work.
        public void setE(String E) {
            this.E = Class.dUnits.valueOf(E);
        }

  • Use check box for report and form

    Hi Expert,
    I try to use check box to select multiple rows in a report and then click on a button to go to a form on another page to choose some values from the form and then do a mass update for records selected in reports.
    I read the "How to Work with Check Boxes" in 2 Day Developer guide, it works fine to select mutiple rows in report and do update with process in that report page.
    However, if I click on a button to go to another page which contains a form, seems the values stored in the package array are cleared and not passed to that page.
    Do you know how I could make this work?
    Thanks a lot,
    Jessie

    Hello Sakti,
    I am also in ECC6.0 & if i see the definition of the BAdI BADI_TAX1_XTXIT_SET, "Multiple Use" checkbox is checked! What are you trying to do - trying to create an implementation?
    @Prabhu: Although the BAdI is "multiple-use", but there is not filter applied to it. Next time do your checks properly before replying
