Popup asks me to sign into Icloud w/ wrong account name

I just recently did the update of IOS7 on my iphone 4.  Now my iphone 4 has a continuous, never ending pop saying "Sign in to iCloud", HOWEVER, it keeps asking me for the Apple ID password for the wrong account.  Everytime I put in my password, it doesn't match because I can't change the account to the correct account.
I've googled this and I've tried shutting off Imessage, I've tried shutting off Icloud, I've tried deleting the Icloud account, I've tried going to the App store to make sure there were no downloads pending, I've tried shutting off Face Time, and I've also tried changing the account back to the original/correct account but it won't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I use this phone for work and I CANNOT make calls, check emails, check messages, etc. w/ this continuous popup.  I need a fix yesterday!!!!!!!!!!

To fix this on IOS 7, in a web browser (I'd recommend one on another device) go to appleid.apple.com and log into your current Apple ID (not the one that continues to appear for iClould) by clicking on "Manage your Apple ID".  Once successfully in to your account, click on Edit your Apple ID & Primary email address.  Change the Apple ID to one appearing in your iCloud prompt.  It's okay if this is an e-mail address that you no longer have access to as this is a temporary step and does not actually have to be verified.
Once you've changed your Apple ID to the one appearing in the iCloud prompt reset the phone.
When prompted, enter what was your current Apple ID's password when prompted by iCloud.  This should allow you to get past the password loop and you will now want to delete the iCloud account.  I would suggest answering the prompt to Delete but keep data the data on the device.  Once you've done this go back to your web browser and log into appleid.apple.com.  Change the Apple ID & Primary email address we just changed back to the Apple ID that you would like to use for iTunes and iCloud and save it.  Now you must verify the Apple ID you would like to use going forward so make sure you are using a valid e-mail address.
At this point you can use it to log into iCloud with your new Apple ID on the IOS 7 device and you should be good to go.

  • Every ten seconds my iPhone 6 asks me to sign into iCloud with an old id...passwords no longer work.  Every 10 seconds!  Help

Every 10 seconds my iPhone 6 prompts me to sign into iCloud with an old id that I have updated.  Can't use old passwords...can't figure how to change settings to change to my new id.  Very annoying....can anyone help?

So, if you changed your Apple ID to a new email address, but did not sign out of iCloud before doing so, you need to do the following:
    1.     Go to Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the old email address. This is temporary. Do NOT verify it, do NOT change the password: Apple - My Apple ID
    2.     Go to Settings>iCloud on your device and scroll to the bottom, and click on Sign Out. When it asks for the password, type in your current Apple ID password
    3.     Go back to Manage your Apple ID, and sign in with the old ID and current password and EDIT your Apple ID back to the new email address. You may have to verify it again
    4.     Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID

  • My iPad keeps asking me to sign into iCloud

but when I go to sign out of the iCloud in settings it says my password is incorrect. How does that work? When it has allowed me to sign into iCloud on the same device using my actual password.
ANd how do I stop my iPad continually asking me to sign into it anyway? It comes up all the time, checking email, reading on here, using the Internet etc.
All i want to do is sign out of or delete my existing account on here and use another account, without habing to constantly sign into the iCloud

  • It keeps asking me to sign into icloud everytime i go into my music. it also says my account has been disabled but it hasnt, it keeps asking me to sign into icloud everytime i go into my music. it also says my account has been disabled but it hasnt

i always have to sign into icloud and they always say my account has been disabled so i cant download anything!

You might want to go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in.  For iCloud, try deleting the account and signing back in.  To do this, save your photo stream photos to your camera roll (unless already ther) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPhone and provide the password when prompted, then sign back in.  (Your iCloud data will reappear on your phone when you sign back in.)

  • HT5622 On my phone the icloud apple ID email is out of date and not the same as my apple ID email, so therefore passwords do not moatch up, and I keep getting abox coming up on the screen asking me to sign into Icloud but it has the wrong apple email.

Hi Since I have updated to IOS7 I keep getting a window coming up asking me to sign in to icloud. However the icloud icon is showing my old email address and doesn't match up to my Apple ID, so the passwards do not match, and this box keeps appearing all the time !"!!

I have this too it's driving me crazy!

  • Ipad keeps asking me to sign into iCloud.  The problem is, I can't connect to the internet to do this because it keeps popping up.  It's a 'catch 22'.

A pop up on my iPad keeps asking for my iCloud password, however, when I give it, it doesn't matter because I am not connected to the internet.  I CAN'T connect to the internet because of the popup.  How can I get rid of the pop up so I can connect?

You have bought the book but have you previously downloaded it to your iPad?  If you go to your books collection and there is a little cloud icon on the cover of the book with a down arrow that means it's not stored on your device and you would need an internet connection to read/download it.  If that's not the problem and Demo's suggestions don't work how about trying this desperate move:  Settings > Airplane Mode  (turn on)     And try again.   Do you have other downloaded books in your collection?  If so do they act the same way or do they open ok?  If they open then there is something corrupt about that particular book in which case I would delete it and re download it when you have access to the internet.

  • I'm using a Dell laptop.  A popup asked me to log into iCloud and when I did, it said my psw was incorrect.  And, that I would be getting an email to direct me to change my psw but, have not received email.  Have I been hack

I am using a Dell laptop.  An iCloud page appeared asking me for my password.  When I entered it, it said it was incorrect and said it would send me an email to change it.  However, I never received such email in my account of record (not in trash, either).  Question:  Have I been hacked?

    Hey itapetita,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you did not receive a reset email. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

  • MacBook Pro keeps asking to sign into iCloud, iMessage, and FaceTime

My wife's MacBookPro11,3 keeps asking her to sign into iCloud, iMessage, and FaceTime, non of which she uses.  She keeps clicking on cancel, but they just keep popping back up, one after the other.  She is using OS 10.9.3.  Any suggestions how to stop this non-stop cycle?  We've tried re-starting the computer, but that didn't help.  I didn't see anything in preferences that I could turn off.  She has just moved the pop-up window over to the edge of the screen so she can keep using the computer.  Thanks.

Do you mean logging in and out of the MacBook Pro, or in and out of iCloud, iMessage, and FaceTime?  I will have her try logging in and out of the MacBook Pro.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

  • I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used      to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5s.  I have an iphone 4.  It's asking me to sign in to confirm my details and change my password.  How do I know if this email is genuine?

I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5S.  I have an iphone 4.  It then asks that I 'click here' to confirm my details and change my password.  How do I tell if the email is genuine?

Apple will not ask you to click a link in an email. They may tell you to log in to your account to reset your password. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and log in if you ever want to change any information in your profile (or your password). And do not click the link I just posted; instead enter it into a browser.
You can verify the devices assigned to your account by going to https://icloud.com/find (again, don't click it), where you can see a list of devices registered to your Apple ID.
As a general rule, you should never click a link in an email or forum post without verifying it first. You can see where it goes without clicking it in most email programs and browsers by hovering your mouse pointer over it. On an iPhone you can check where it goes by holding your finger on the link (rather than just tapping it).

when i sign into icloud, a box appears asking me to verify the information in my email, but when i check my email inbox there is no email there. so how do i get onto icloud?
I need to deactive icloud to be able to repair my phone as it is damaged. however when signing into icloud it appears with a box asking me to verify the information in my email. When loging into my email inbox, there is no message there from icloud to verify. so how do I get onto icloud or how else can I deactivate it without using my device?

    Hi ryball89,
Happy Holidays!  If you are having issues with the verification email for your iCloud/Apple ID, follow the steps below:
If you didn't receive your verification or reset email - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201455
If you didn't receive your verification or reset email
Not sure where that email was sent? Here are some tips to help you find it.
When you make certain updates to your Apple ID, we’ll send you an email to help you complete the update. For example, you might have reset your password, reset your security questions, or added a new email address to your account. If you can't find the email after we send it, these steps can help.
    Search for the email
We'll send the email from "Apple," so you can quickly search for it. If it isn't in your inbox, check your folders. If a spam filter or email rule moved the email, it might be in the Spam, Junk, Trash, Deleted Items, or Archive folder.
Make sure you're checking the correct email account
If you're looking for a password reset email, make sure you're checking the correct email inbox. It will either be your primary Apple ID email address or a separate rescue email address that you added to your account.
If you're looking for a verification email, you can sign in to My Apple ID and review all the email addresses you have on file, including the one that you're trying to verify. If the email address is incorrect, you can update it and send another verification email.
    Resend the email
To resend a reset email, repeat the steps to reset your password or security questions, and we'll send an email to your rescue or primary Apple ID email address.
To resend the verification email, go to My Apple ID, select Manage your Apple ID, then sign in. Click Resend next to the email address that you want to verify, and we'll send an email to that address.
Make sure that you're getting email
If you're not getting any email, you might need to contact your email service provider for help. You can also use these steps to get help receiving email at OS X Mail or an iCloud email address.
    Contact us
Go to System Status and see if Apple ID is available. If you still can't find the reset email or verification email, contact Apple Support.
    Cheers,
    Judy

  • Why is my iphone asking me to sign into my previous iCloud account?

whenever I use my phone, I get a pop up saying sign into iCloud. this isn't using my new account. it doesn't give me the option to sign in with a different account.  when I try to say I forgot the password, i enter my birthday but it doesn't match apples records, so I can't continue from there. I can't use the send email option to get the password because I don't have access to that email anymore. when I click delete account, I need to be able to sign in... can somebody please help me

Because the apps that you have synced to your iphone were purchased using your husbands apple id.
Please sign out of your device with your apple id. Sign in with your husbands apple id. Update the apps. Once they are updated you are then free to sign back in to your device using your apple id and all will be well with the world!
    Good luck.

    Hi,
In the Finder use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears when you do this.
    Navigate to Containers/com.apple.soagent/Data/Library/Preferences
You will notice that many of the items are Aliases (to the Originals in ~/Library/Preferences).
    But there are exceptions.
Delete (Drag to Trash)  the com.apple.soagent.plist and com.apple.messageshelper.AccountInfoController.plist
Restart the Mac (I have not worked out is SOAgent launches when the Mac does).
    Restart Messages.
If this does not work navigate to ~/Library/Preferences
In here find and Delete com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist
This will need a Restart of the app.
You will be asked Again for your Apple ID

It should keep asking for the password, because it's trying to check for purchases... As soon as you login, it will see you have pending downloads and create the downloads section on the left below Purchases under the Store section. Then it will start the music downloads there, as they will be listed one below the other.
You could just try to check your account balance or view your account and that will trigger a password request too. You can just click on that and say that now iTunes keeps asking for the password and ask him to help you with that. Trick would be to interrupt him so that he carries on with another task after, so he doesn't notice the download. Or you carry on with email or browsing which you were "busy" with when iTunes interrupted you for the password (stupid iTunes)
