Popup (hyperlink) closes when using scroll bar

Robohelp (RH8). The popup (hyperlink) closes when I use the scroll bar. However, if I use the mouse wheel to scroll the popup does not close. I am sure this is normal behavior however I would like it the stay open when using the scroll bar. Is there a way to do this?

Hi pajamaham and welcome to the RH community.
To be honest I don't think you can do this with the method you are using. Popups were never designed to work that way. Perhaps a workaround would be to display the popup information in a new window. Not exactly elegant but it would do what you want.

The Code Capture Tool also includes an example of this in its source code (the preview of the capture can be panned), which also demonstrates one way of handling only some of the mouse move events (which is important, because usually there are too many events and you want to discard some of them).

From the top of my head, install Thinkpad Communications Utility
and within it is an option called "Optimize my microphone for". Try
switching it to "Normal use" instead "Only my voice". Also, in Windows
Control Panel there should be an icon for "Realtek HD Sound Effect
Manager". Fire it up and goto "Microphone" and try switching between
the two options. Maybe that'll help too, but am not sure.

Return to initial position when dragging scroll bar

There is a function in Windows that when using mouse cursor to drag the scroll bar, moving the cursor away from the scroll bar makes the bar go back to its initial position. Does OS X have a similar function? It is useful when looking figures during reading a large document.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

What happens when the scroll bar moves to the bottom by itself?

When I am browsing, the scroll bar moves downward all of sudden to the bottom of the arrow. When you click on the scroll bar to move the page back to the top, it automatically moves back the scroll bar back to the bottom of the page. I have tried reloading the page, going forwards and backwards, and refreshing the page but it still does this problem. The only way to fix this problem is you have to close Firefox and reopen the browser. Is there a solution?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

View a image in a web app using scroll bars.

I am using Dashcode to make a web app and i will be displaying images. How to i display the width of the image I can see the image by scrolling up and down but cannot see the width of the image as i cannot scroll left and right.
I need a horizontal scroll bar so i can scroll along the width of the image.
soz its kinda confusing.
Basically i need to put an image in a scroll area but don't know how.

Not sure if that's relevant but does the display of the slide change if you make sure that hardware acceleration is enabled? The checkbox is here:
Firefox menu > Prefences > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
Note that any changes take effect after you exit and restart Firefox.
To see whether Firefox actually is using hardware acceleration, you can check the troubleshooting information. Either:
* Help > Troubleshooting Information
* type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
Toward the end, in the Graphics section, look for this row:
GPU Accelerated Windows
The number will show a ratio of accelerated to non-accelerated window. If hardware acceleration is disabled, the first number will always be zero.
By the way, is the SharePoint PPT viewer using Flash, or Silverlight, or another plugin? Typically Firefox will display an icon that looks a bit like a "Lego" block in the address bar showing what plugins are in use in the page.

Crashes using scroll bar in Photos

I bought a new MB Pro and used the setup assistant to migrate over my files. Neither iPhoto 09 or iTunes worked.
I deleted and reinstalled iPhoto 09 and it worked, but not with my existing library. I tried to rebuild it both manually and using the Command Option keys, but it crashed as soon as it starts on thumbnails. I also tried iPhoto Library Manager and got the same result.
I powered off the machine, ran a disk and permissions repair and tried again. This time I was able to open iPhoto and my original library is there, but it crashes every time I attempt to use the scroll bar in Photos or attempt to use Faces at all.
Any suggestions? This is maddening. I looked, but was unable to locate any crash logs.

While I agree that they are not Apple apps they are representative of the fact that the user community needs and wants tools that Apple has not provided. The fact is that all of the apps peacefully coexisted until I migrated to my new MB Pro. Why is it that they got along famously on the previous MB Pro?
Any changes made were made by Apple as part of its programs to migrate the applications. The other non-Apple apps did not cause the problem, Apple created it.
Just like the Snow Leopard fiasco, Apple failed to give due consideration to the impact of its programs on the other key programs that its customers use on their platform. Apple is the company that chose to build their business model this way with other people doing the development on their platform.
Sorry, but I disagree with you. The vast majority of problems on the OS/X platform are caused by OS/X changes and updates that have not been provided to developers with enough time to determine the compatability and rebuild the program if necessary.
All most of us are asking for is better communication. Instead I have to spend countless hours hunting down the information in various forums. It is no wonder that the majority of business owners are petrified to upgrade their systems.

How do I make the hyperlink underlined when I scroll over it?

Never mind, I figured it out. It's the underlined "U" next to the color in the inspector, duh!

CP 8 crashes and closes when using the web object.

Adobe Captivate 8 is crashing when using the web object, give me a box which says I need to close the program. How can I fix this issue?

Can you please confirm your operating system ? Do you have the full administrative rights ? Are you getting any error when trying to insert Web Object interaction ?
Would like to inform you Captivate 6 onwards interactions have been uploaded on server. Captivate pings this server on a regular basis, If there is any firewall or strict network policy then it might take some time to check the URL or might be result in crash or freeze.

Reader 11.0.9 crashes when using side bar (tools, forms & sign)

I recently updated my company's Adobe reader to 11.0.9 via GPO. I followed instructions here: http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/37467-how-to-create-a-slipstreamed-adobe-acrob at-reader-msi-for-gpo-deployment
I downloaded the MSI for the 11.0.9 MUI. I patched it over a copy of my 11.0.7 MUI MSI file. then I released it through GPO
Now when any of my users open a pdf with the "tools" or "Form and Sign" side bar open, Reader crashes. it goes to not responding, then a popup for "check for solutions" or "close program"
I have tried to uninstall Reader 11.0.9, then allow GPO to install it. but I still have the same issue (it crashes)
Has anyone experienced this? With this release? any other suggestions?

Try disabling the 'Protected Mode' in Reader and check the performance.
What happens if you install Reader on a test machine without GPO but directly from Adobe.com?

Can't get iTunes to close when using my iPod

I have the original Touch, works just fine so why replace it. However, lately when I download from iTunes, sync the new songs and then click the button to disconnect, I can't get itunes to close. It keeps opening and finally in dispair, I resort to going to the Windows Task manager and close it that way which sometimes doesn't work until I've done it several times. At the same time I get the new Apple rules and regs, I always click accept and it still opens and opens and opens. Does anyone else have this difficulty? Not thrilled with Apple taking over my computer.

I have not heard of that problem before. You can try:
- ANother cable and USB port
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

XFCE's mixer plugin stops at 90% when using scroll wheel over icon

Yeah, title says it. By putting the cursor over the icon and using the scroll wheel, the volume goes up to 90%. But when I open the mixer and drag the master slider, it goes to 100%. How do I fix this?

Had the same Problem, was really annoying me. Probably a baaad baad bad workaround:

changed xfce-volume-button.c, line 204 & 205:

I've been searching for a while for the real problem, but I'm no programmer. Looks as if somewhere someone perhaps startet counting at 1% instead of 0% or something, but I've got no idea where.
(useless EDIT: Seems as if someone already fixed it in the newest version available in ABS since I changed it on my machine. Wait, trying...
EDIT: Nope, still only works up to 90% in current ABS version I think - might have just forgotten to re-extract the source of the panel after update. Redoing the "bad fix" got it to 100% again though.)

Safari crash in Acrord32 when use scroll wheel while PDF loading

Whenever I download a PDF (in browser), Safari 4 crashes in Acrord32 if I use the scroll wheel on my mouse while the PDF is still loading.
This seems to often happen to me as I impatiently want to start browsing the PDF without waiting for it to finish loading completely.
This happens for me on two completely different systems - one XP, one Vista.
Using latest version of Acrobat Reader (9), and in both 4 and 4.02 of Safari for Windows.
Mostly I get a "this program needs to close" type message from Windows, and clicking on details show Acrord32 as the problem. However sometimes Safari just freezes using 95% CPU, or occasionally the program just disappears.
Anyone else seen this behaviour?

Yes, I see it too with the same exact combination of Safari and Adobe Reader.

IPhone "E" ...mail ap closes when using ! Boo

Upon receiving emailto iPhone ...*further action to view, read or delete causes iPhone Mail ap to close .... phone goes to icon screen.*
*No go around on this .. this concern requires Apple Engineers attention ASAP. Restore does not improve ap use*.

Have never had the Mail app crash on me, personally. Note that this is a user-to-user technical support forum - if you want Apple's attention, this is not the place to get it.
