Popup LOV fails in firefox when using an outer join!!!

I have a popup lov which contains at least 2 outer joins in my query. The popup renders fine in IE but i get the error message:
"Popup List of Values query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different"
when launching the popup from Firefox (1.5.0.2)
Anyone got any idea why this works in IE but fails in Firefox?

Hello,
Duncan If you'll run your example code on SQL*Plus, you'll see that for department "OPERATIONS" there is no returned value. This could happen with outer join. The problem can be with the way FF is interpreting this non-value. I didn't try it my self, but maybe if you'll use display null value with your LOV, it will solve the problem. Another possible option is to use NVL() on the returned value.
Chris Some of the Apex team members, like Carl, are using FF as their main browser. There are some compatibility issues with the last version of FF, but from that, to your conclusion of Apex only support IE, there's a long road.

Using Left Outer Join

Hi SAP,
I have an access database with table called "Employee_ID". I am linking this table to a table called "Sales" in our main database and trying to report on January 2009.
There is one employee that is not appearing in my report. I know this employee has had no sales in Jan 2009. So, I tried linking the table using Left Outer Join and still this employee is not appearing in my report.
As a test, when I bring in Employee_ID table alone, the missing employee appears but when I try linking it INNER or LEFT OUTER join to table Sales, this employee does not appear.
Any help how I can bring the employee in from table Employee_ID?

Your suggestion led me to the finding my solution. Your suggestion brought back the missing employee but I needed all employees that had sales in January 2009 AND those that didn't. So I had to tweak your select expert formula as follows:
isnull({Sales.amt}) or
{Sales.period}="0109"
This brought back everything as needed! There was one negative about using this method. The performance was poor. It took a really long time to run.
To avoid having to wait for this to run and increase the performance, I had to go into the database and add a $0.00 sales amt for employee 2040 (or an empty sales amount record) in the month of January 2009. This brought back everyone also and it obviously increased the performance exponentially. Curious, why does it take forever to run using the above formula in select expert?

"use ODBC outer join syntax on limits" issues

I'm converting a series of BQY's from Brio 6.6 to Hyperion 9.3. I have some questions about the "use ODBC outer join syntax on limits" option in the OCE. I sort of understand this option's purpose, but I don't completely understand the SQL I'm seeing. For example Brio 6.6 is generating the following SQL statement:
SELECT * FROM tblA AL1 LEFT OUTER JOIN tblB AL38 ON (AL38.ParentID=AL1.ChildID AND
AL38.Data='SomeData') WHERE ((NOT AL38.Action IS NULL))
Now, Hyperion 9.3 generated the SQL statement as follows:
SELECT * FROM tblA AL1 LEFT OUTER JOIN tblB AL38 ON (AL38.ParentID=AL1.ChildID AND
AL38.Data='SomeData') AND (NOT AL38.Response IS NULL))
My questions are:
1) Why isn't the "NOT AL38.Action IS NULL" statement included in the outer join in Brio? I'm OK with the fact that it is not, but my limited understanding of the "use ODBC outer join syntax on limits" seems to indicate that it should end up there.
2) The Hyperion SQL is returning incorrect results. How can I get Hyperion to generate the same SQL as Brio? And still use the OCE with "use ODBC outer join syntax on limits" selected? This setting is working fine for other BQY's.

Crystal 2011 getting Logon failed IM004 error when using ODBC (RDO)

I just installed Crystal Reports 2011 on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. Sporadically, but way too often (I would estimate about 60% of the time), when I go to set up an ODBC (RDO) connection or refresh an existing report and enter the password, I get the following error:
Logon failed.
Details: IM004:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_Handle_ENV failed
Other times, it just works, with no changed made. It seems to work slightly more often when using the SQL Server driver (the one for SQL 2000) as opposed to the SQL Native Client or SQL Server Native Client 10.0 drivers. But not often enough for that to be the solution.
I have tested this with a locally installed SQL Server (on the same machine as Crystal Reports) and remote SQL Servers, with SQL 2000, 2005 and 2008. Same results.
I have Crystal Reports 2008 installed on the same machine and have not once had this problem. I have tried using the same ODBC connections I already had from Crystal 2008 with Crystal 2011 and also to create new ones, same results either way.
Is this a known issue, or is there a switch/setting I need to change to make this work consistently? I am especially puzzled by the fact that it seems random, I have not been able to find any pattern at all.

MS SQL Server 2008 has a client install now, the MDAC/WDAC doesn't install it as MS used to do with all of their OS's. CR also had to update the use of SQL Server 2008 to include the SQLNCLI10 client engine.
I suggest, if you have not already, install the Native 10 client from either the SQL Server CD or you can download the MSI from MS's site and only use the Native 10 driver.
MS kind of dropped ODBC and moved to OLE DB. The native client actually uses the OLE DB driver so using ODBC just puts another layer on top of OLE DB anyways. It's more convenient to use ODBC for deploying applications but it can affect performance.
Anyways, as noted, CR 2011 is still in Ramp up mode so this issue may have been tracked. If not though you can purchase a support case, if it's a bug then you'll get a refund, if it's a limitation in MS then no refund.

Background CSS images not loading in firefox when using a CDN

Hello,
I am having trouble getting CSS background images to load in Fire fox when using a CDN.
Here is a description of the problem:
- Everything works fine in Chrome
- Any images loaded through CSS do not load in Firefox (they load in chrome) when i have the CDN enabled.
- Other images / custom fonts appear to load fine with the CDN enabled
My setup:
- wordpress 3.8
- CDN - Rackspace Cloudfiles synced with w3 total cache plugin (using the 'origin push' configuration)
- using Cloudflare (mozilla appears to load the site fine while cloudflare is active)
More about the problem--
I suspect that the problem has something to do with the htaccess file redirecting some urls or something-- but im not quite sure what to do about this.
Has anyone encountered this problem before who can offer some insight?

E5-00 fails to deblock when used with paired bluet...

When using the E5 with the Toyota bluetooth carkit, it fails to deblock itself. Answering calls is not a problem as the E5 auto-deblocks upon receiving a call, but dailing via the carkit does not lift the block. As a result, I must first deblock it manually by entering the deblocking code which only solves the problem for a few minutes. Disabling auto-deblocking is not an option, as it would make the data on the phone vulnerable in case the phone would be lost/stolen. (This is about the code-block and not about the unprotected keypad block.) I have succesfully used HTC's and older Nokia's on the same carkit without this problem arising and my E5 software is up to date. Does anyone know how to arrange an auto-deblock when a bluetooth-paired device is being used like a carkit? Thanks!

Qosmio X770-11C - how to disable on board speakers when using Line Out?

Hi,
Is there any way to disable on board speakers when the line out is used.
Currently if I plug in a cable to the hadphone socket and choose lineout on the realtek control panel, the sound is output to the line out as expected but also through the internal speakers.
Is there any way to stop this, and only have sound going out through the line out?

If you want to hear sound on headset only you must choose Headphone option.
Disconnect cable and connect it again. When you see small window on the screen where you can choose between headphone and line out options choose headphone and you will hear sound on external device only.
In case you have disabled this popup dialog you can activate it manually. Open Realtek manager connect external device and when you see activated black point on the right side make double click there and change settings.

No Audio When using Video Out to Firewire

I do not get any audio when I use Firewire ntsc as my video out. When I set video out to canvas playback then I get audio. I want to use print to video but I cannot because the audio will not work with Firewire. I get the image on my external monitor but not the audio. I checked to make sure and the audio was not on the recorded dvd. I cannot not use print to video with canvas playback.
My Easy Setup is Format: NTSC, Use DV NTSC DV Converter. I tried using Firewire basic and got the same results.

The audio does not play at all from the timeline if video out is set to Firewire. To answer your question, no the audio does not play in the external monitor when playing back from the timeline when Canvas is used as the video out. However, I don't believe the converter box is the problem. The audio would play in the internal speakers when using firewire as video out but it does not.

Computer chatter when using direct out and splitter box

Hello
I have recently purchased a line6 bass amp and when using the direct out for recording I get computer chatter through the speakers.
I also get the same problem using a splitter box. One lead to the amp and the other into the interface. As soon as I plug into the interface the chatter comes back.
I also have the same problem using a splitter box to a guitar amp
I have a recording studio and use top quality leads
Presonus tube preamps and M Audio interface.
If I plug an instrument or mic in........... no chatter at all. Only with direct out and splitter box does the problem arise.
Previously I have recorded my amp and then a DI track separately but would like to record them simultaneously
Has anyone else had this problem and did they find a solution?

There are loads of posts in these discussions concerning the problems that people have when they upgrade. The gist of it seems to be to make sure you know which plug-ins, samples, devices, & drivers you have +in advance,+ so that when they don't work you will be prepared & will know what to do.
The shocking truth is that some items that we can become quite dependent on will one day very likely just stop working, & will never work again after that.
I hate it when that happens. OTOH, I have eight Akai S612 Samplers, & they all still work…

You it self told that <%! %> is a declarative statement then how you can give a output statement.
<%! %> It includes only declarative statements.
And also System.out.println can't be used in Jsp since it is a implicit object.out is already declared is jsp as implicit object.You can use it as out.println();in <%%>.
Try to avoid scriplets in jsp.

SQL Select using LEFT OUTER JOIN returning field values when I expect NULL

I am having problems with this select statement:
SELECT distinct pl.id, th.trip, pc.country, pph.location
FROM people_list pl, people_travelhistory th, people_country pc
LEFT OUTER JOIN people_info pph on pph.id=pl.id and pph.country=pc.country
where people_list.active='Y' and people_list.id=th.id and th.trip = pc.trip;
The criteria is that the pph table may not have no record for that id and country.
The problem is that the pph.location field is returned with data even when no matching record for that id or country exists.
If the record doesn't exist in the pph table, I want pph.location = NULL
What am I doing wrong?

In our project we are converting the Unix shell & SQL scripts into OWB mappings. We are facing problem converting left outer join in OWB. here is one of the example. i have just pasted the FROM and where condition.

We converts the same when we are putting it in OWB join Operator
INGRP1.branch_no = INGRP2.branch_no(+)

AND INGRP3.to_date between t2.tran_dt and t2.to_dt
AND INGRP2.to_dt >= INGRP2.start_images
But as you see in the OWB opreator we can put left join with INGRP1 with INGRP2.
We can not make same join with INGRP3 & INGRP4 , becoz it failed saying "you cannot left outer join on more than one table/source".
so overall this OWB code makes incomplete left outer join as per the above ANSI SQL join in Oracle.
Bcoz of the problem we are getting less number of rows...........

I know this topic is here for a while now, but I had the same problem today, searched for help and didn´t find anything.
Later I figured out how to do this.
You just have to put the (+) one time, and the OWB converts in an LEFT OUTER JOIN statement.
For this case, all you have to do is:

AND APTS.APTS_TASK.IFP_RCNTRL_NO = flight_procedure.amendment_number(+)
I want to get all the records from APTS_TASK table even if they do not exist in SIAP.FLIGHT_PROCEDURE. So I have created a outer join APTS_TASK table and flight_procedure table to get all the records from APTS. I get all the records if I use just the two tables APTS_TASK and FLIGHT_PROCEDURE. But when I include SIAP.PROC_AIRPORT in the query I loose some records from the query. So If I want to get all the records should I include all the outer join to SIAP. PROC_AIRPORT table too. I tried to make this clear but let me know if you have more questions.
