Popup screen it is updating the master data

hi all,
when I open sales order and open header information part or Partner tab and if I am double clicking on payer I get an popup screen in this I can see the address details but if I am changing the Name of payer in that popup screen it is updating the master data. I am not able to get how It is happening.
Is there any problem with the customer creation ? or is it an SAP bug .
Need you advice .

Hi mayank,
Option of changing the data in the customer details at the partnertab is a standard functionality.
But that will be limited to that particular document only.
It shouldn't impact the customer master. Kindly check again.

If you want to extract master data from PRD in order to load in DEV, i suggest to do this (its a tricky thing):
For example, you want to download 0EMPLOYEE
1-In PRD, transaction RSD1
2-Enter 0EMPLOYEE
3-Copy the Master table for 0EMPLOYEE (/BI0/MEMPLOYEE)
4-transaction SE16
5-Enter the table name /BI0/MEMPLOYEE
6-in the selection screen, go to "Options" Menu and select "User parameters", and now select "Standard List SE16"
7-Execute
8-Now its show's up the 0employee data, go to "System" menu - List - Save - Local File
9-After you have the flat file, only rest create Infopackae in DEV Env. and load it from the flat file.

Updating the Master data Infoobjects attributes from the Portal

Dear All,
There is a requirement where through portal i want to retrive the master data infoobject ( based on the value seleceted for that infoobject by the user ) and its attributes in the portal , edit them and save them back so that the updated values goes back to BW master data infoobject data base tables and updates the value.
Eg . I have Natural Account master data infoobject in the BW with attributes fucntional area and expense center.Based on the user selection of any values for the Natural account lets say 01110 , then for 01110 natural account the portal should display the correspoding attributes values of fucntional area and expense center.Lets take this values as 10 , 20 respectively for fucntional area and expense center . What I want to do now is to change these attrbute values to 30 and 40 and I would like to save it back as the changed attribute values for that natural account for 01110 with new attribute values 30 & 40 respectively for fucntional area and expense center .
Is this possible through portal and BW?
Any idea on this would be appriciated.

Hi Ankit,
this is a quite tough but not impossible requirement. Maintaining Master data is possible with Visual Composer and some function modules (at least that's one way I know). However it could be a bit complicated maintaining attributes Master data depending on your data model. This How might help getting familiar with this topic:

Update the master data by not using RSA1

I am planning to use shortcut of the SAP GUI and pass the tcode with field values.
This is the syntax

Example code

For our project I need to pass the field values for tcode RSDMD so that we can skip the first screen which is asking for the infoobject name.
Please let me know how to find the field value for the transaction code RSDMD.

Data load error during updation of master data

Dear all,
While updating the master data from the PSA , the following error is appearing and the load fails.
"The time interval ['20050313'/'20050313'] & (from/to) for the data
records 1 & and 2 & overlaps in characteristic 0EQUIPMENT &."
What could be the reason for this error and how to correct the same.
I am able to understand that the valid from and the valid to date are same. in R/3 whenever a change record is created for the equipment the valid from and the valid to date will be the same as shown below.
Creation of record (for example today) valid from :- 02.06.2008 and valid to 31.12.9999.
Change of record (for example tommorrow) Valid from :- 03.06.2008 and valid to 31.12.9999
In the above case the valid to date of the creation data will automatically change from 31.12.9999 to 03.06.2008.
How could this be solved.

Hi Magesh,
Please look at /BIC/*Equipment table in SE16.
Find the record with a key = ********* and notice what values have Date_from and Date_to fields. The interval they determine, overlap with ur date_to and date_from.
You need to supply correct date_to & date_from values.

Note: this is a common scenario in time dependendent master data.....it happens because you have two records for the same values of master data and also they have overlapping time interval.....you cannot have two values of master data at the same time.

Problem updating infoobject master data from a dso.

Hi all,
i'm updating the master data of an infoobject from another ods, the two table have the same key.
When i update the infoobject with full repair i get errors about duplicate records and the data load stops, when i delete the request and launch the infopackage again all goes well but it seems it doesn't insert any new record in the master data, what could be the problem?

i checked the master data table and it seems it has been updated, i check some order number with recordmode N added today in the dso and the entries were in the infoobject, though i don't know why in the request tab it shows 0 added records.
To be completely sure tomorrow i will check again the number of entries in the 'p' table of the infoobject.
Anyway this is the exact error message i get:
7 duplicate record found. 6478 recordings usedin table /BIC/XZDOCDSO
7 duplicate record found. 6478 recordings usedin table /BIC/PZDOCDSO
After that i run the change run for the IO and when i launch again tha data load it goes well.

Taking into account the options from F4 Help, select the relevant data.
You get to the list header for the selection. The list header is also displayed if no hits have been found for your selection, so that you can enter new master records for particular criteria.
Make your changes with the help of the relevant maintenance function.
3)Creating new master records
Choose Create to add new master records. New records are tagged onto the end of the list.
Changing single records
4)A double-click on a data record takes you to the individual maintenance. Make the relevant changes in the following Change dialog box.
5)Choose Save.

Hi,
In SPRO, change the field status for the customer account group to optional. Then you can change the reconciliation account of the customer.
The Path -
SPRO>>Financial Accounting (New)>>Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable>>Customer Accounts>>Master Data>> Preparations for Creating Customer Master Data>>Define Account Groups with Screen Layout (Customers). Here select the account group for the customer and double click on the line. In this screen, double click on Company code data. Then change the field status in Account management for Reconciliation account.

Getting the error while loading the master data

i have tried to delete the master data using right click and delete master data, but still there are data.
Now i am trying to load this master data again then i am getting the message "0 from 50033 records"
and data load got failed with error message "master data/text of 0vendor already deleted "
and due to this i could not able to load my other infoprovider (which have 0 vendor).
can any body help me, it very urgent...

Hi Raju,
I assume there are no routines written in the update rules and also you ae directly loading the data from R/3 ( not from any ODS). If that is the case then it could be that, the data maintained in R/3 has overlapping time intervals (since time dependency of attributes is involved). Check your PSA if the same profit center has time intervals which over lap. In that case, you need to get this fixed in R/3. If there are no overlapping time intervals, you can simply increase the error tolerance limit in your info-package and repeat the load.

We are on ECC 50 and have a need to update vendor master data through a programatic interface ( non-dialog ) with ABAP. What is a good function module that can be used to create/update vendor master data - I looked at BAPI_VENDOR_CREATE and did not find any input interfaces that can be passed to this BAPI.

where and when does it get updated in the master table.

I Know that from the where used list one can find the corresponding table but most of the time it wont suffice

The problem occurs during data load from R/3. It was not occuring before. When I go to check the PSA contents I get a runtime error - GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED.
Error analysis
    You attempted to access an unassigned field symbol
    (data segment 32821).
This error may occur if
    - You address a typed field symbol before it has been set with
      ASSIGN
    - You address a field symbol that pointed to the line of an
      internal table that was deleted
    - You address a field symbol that was previously reset using
      UNASSIGN or that pointed to a local field that no
      longer exists
    - You address a global function interface, although the
      respective function module is not active - that is, is
      not in the list of active calls. The list of active calls
      can be taken from this short dump.

Crystal reports 2011 failure to pull the master data for AP Items

I am using businessobjects 4.0 and i am also running crystal report 2011.I am connecting to a sap erp ecc 6.0 ehp4 without any issue.The challenge comes when trying to input or pick the master data for example company code .The crystal report does not populate the company code field with master data.Any suggestions?

uploding screen shots, below mentioned screens are captured when I was creating a new report on CR2011, usning SAP standard table "T001", there is no parameters, it is simple report but I didnot get data, if i browse the field through Cystal report is says Data Size is 0.
I also would like to inform you that If i use crystal report 2008 SP3 for same ERP, Same table and same fields, then i get proper data/report.

Item descriptions update on master data does not get read into existing sales orders and subsequently when delivery dockets and invoice are generated, they are all not updated. Could the SAP programmer analysts please fix this bug? thanks.
Similarly if item's GL account is set by item group and the item group is changed after an item is processed on sales order, the change in GL posting is not reflected when invoice is subsequently processed. Please also fix this bug, thanks.

for both issue nothing to do from SAP MDM side, You need to take help of SAP Technical Consultant(Programmer) which analyst the problem and fix it for e.g. SAP Notes updation for program or assign/change SAP standard program for message type etc.
