Popup window disappears

Hi
I have a text box field:

when user types in correct answer and hits return key, it calls a function:

The popup window appears but only for a second and then it disappears
I use the same MM_showHideLayers('pop1','','show','pop2','','hide') function elsewhere and the pop up remains open
The pop up is a ap div, with default setting set to hidden. The function then shows the layer, by setting the visability to 'show'

A popup window appears when I try to post a comment on youtube now, but then disappears, and doesn't allow me to post. How do I fix this?

I can post comments no problem in IE, and this weird popup window never shows up. I ran firefox in safe mode, and that window still shows up and then disappears before I can do anything. I haven't seen anyone else mention this problem.

Message (of message manager) gets lost by opening a popup window

On behalf of a better error/exception handling, I would like to show the stacktrace in a popup window, that means, if the application reports an error message (through the message manager in the view controller), the user (administrator, developer) can optionally click a link (LinkToAction => opening a modal window) to see the stacktrace in a separat popup window.
Unfortunately if the popup window now gets displayed, the error message on the main view (background of the popup window) will be cleared, so this - for the common user more readable - information is not anymore displayed, also when the popup will be cleared.
Of course, I could backup the error message in a context value and redisplay it after closing the popup window, but I suppose that's not a very cool solution...
Other any good ideas?

Usually showing a stack-trace to the end-user of your application is not so helpful as might appear. My experience shows that the information is too technical for the end-user and does not help him/her to resolve the issue/problem. It's better to display error messages pointing him to some solution or directions that he might do in order to fix the error.
If you still want to show a stack-trace I'd advise the following. You have to prepare the UI control with the stack-trace in the same server response (round trip) which shows the message manager's messages. The messages will not disappear until a client sends a new request to the server. When you open the popup such request definitely takes place.
Maybe try to display the stack-trace in the bottom of the screen so user have to scroll down a little bit to show the trace.
Or maybe Tray control will help in the case. Try to put the trace in a text view and put the view in a tray. Then user has to expand the tray to see the trace. But do not assign any event handlers to the tray to avoid additional request to the server while it's expanding.

Popup windows on multiple windows is opened across both monitors.

I am using Firefox 6 the latest version on Windows 7 64 bit using 2 monitors.
I was on a website that wanted me to logon via facebook. So the browser opened a popup windows.
The window that opened covered both monitors. The left edge of the window stayed on the left most monitor (correct). The top edge of the window stayed on the top of both monitors (correct). The right edge of the monitor ended alittle beyond the right most side of the right monitor; I could see the minimized but not the maximized button (incorrect). The bottom edge of the window disappeared below the bottom of both monitors (incorrect). Neither the minimized nor maximized buttons worked.

Do they drag there and snap back, or do they not drag there at all?
If they don't drag there at all, check System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement to see how the system thinks the displays are related spatially. You may need to drag left or down instead of right.
Your profile says you are running Mountain Lion, but if you have upgraded to Mavericks, there's a setting that says whether displays are in one space or separate spaces. If it is set to use separate spaces, you may see a window snap to one of the other display.

Bex POPUP Window. How to Customise

Hi BW Experts,
Currently i am using the BEx Analyser for my reporting.I am entering the wrong values in Selection screen. By hitting the OK Button, the system throws an error message in the POPUP Window.After clicking the OK button, the POPUP disappears but the system shows the message as "BY PROCESSING" in the status bar of the Bex.
How can we control this scenario.And i would like to give own error message in the POPUP Window.

Go to transaction SMOD.
Enter RSR00001 in Enhancement field.
Select the Documentation radio button
Click Display button
This will show you all the information you need including the sample code.
CAUTION:
1) You should use CMOD (not SMOD) when you implement a solution.
2) Most people usually leave the standard popup box alone becuase it is too much work for a cosmetic change

      i have three input fields and one search button in my main window. when i click search button it should display popup window.whenever i click on selected row of the popup window table ,values should be visible in my main window input fields.(normal tables)

Hi Kranthi,
Every webdynpro component has a global controller called the component controller which is visible to all other controllers within the component.So whenever you want to share some data in between 2 different views you can just make it a point to use the component controller's context for the same. For your requirement (within your popups view context) you will have have to copy the component controllers context to your view. You then will have to (programmatically) fill this context with your desired data in this popup view. You can then be able to read this context from whichever view you want. I hope that this would have made it clear for you. Am also giving you an [example|http://****************/Tutorials/WebDynproABAP/Modalbox/page1.htm] which you can go through which would give you a perfect understanding of all this. In this example the user has an input field in the main view. The user enters a customer number & presses on a pushbutton. The corresponding sales orders are then displayed in a popup window for the user. The user can then select any sales order & press on a button in the popup. These values would then get copied to the table in the main view.

In a multiple monitor situation, how do I get popup windows to open on the same monitor as the parent application is displayed.

I have two monitors. I have an application that I run all day, displayed on my secondary monitor. Whenever a popup windows is launched form that application, it always opens on the primary monitor. Very annoying. Any way to get the popup to launch in on the same monitor as the parent application?

SSO UIDPW not working for external Popup Window but works with SAPLOGONTICK

Dear Experts,
I have an issue with SSO user mapping (UIDPW), but the same scenario is working with SAPLOGONTICKET.
Some list gets displayed in the Web Dynpro ABAP iView which has the hyperlinks where on click on the hyper link it opens a external popup window (another Web Dynpro Application) and display the summary some data.
This scenario works when I set the logon method to SAPLOGONTICKET, but when I set it as UIDPW it won't work when a new window opens on click on the hyperlink from Web Dynpro iView as stated above. It asks to login to R/3 system.
Can anyone please let me know what could be the reason it fails in External Popup window scenario when logon method as UIDPW.

You can use application integrator iView to integrate your ABAP application into the portal and you'll be able to pass the variables <MappedUser>, <MappedPassword>, etc. assuming you know about the security risks in passing mapped info.

Still, your ABAPers might need to handle the passed in variables in the first ABAP application and pass them onto the second one. Again, without knowing how you navigate between the 2 apps and other details about your system landscape, versions, etc. this remains as a guess. If you search SDN, you'll find many different solutions then you can choose one which is most suitable for your situation.

RE: Getting multiple values from more than one multiple select popup window

I have a button on a JSP of mine that when clicked creates a popup window (right now it is called popup.html) with a multiple select menu.
My question is how do I get all the values selected from the menu into my JSP (sample.jsp) so that I can set each of the values for my bean.
The other problem is that I have more than one select multiple menu.
Please help if you can. Any advice or suggestions here would be greatly appreciated!

I realize that I can use request.getParameterValues to get the values selected from my html because I am passing them to the hidden inputs I have and then using the request.getParameterValues to get each of the values.
MY PROBLEM IS WHAT IF I HAVE 4 MULTIPLE SELECTS??? How can I use the same html popup menu to get the values from the 4 different multiple selects????

Save and close popup window

I have a typical popup window launched using the builtin javascript:popupURL().
I would like a Save and Close button on this popup window that does
1. Submits the popup page so that changes are saved into session state
2. Close the popup window
3. Refresh the parent window so that updates in (1) are reflected
What is the recommended way of doing this? I was thinking of the following URL redirect on the Save & Close button

window.close();Do I need a same-page branch on the popup page? If so, why? If not, why? ;-)
