Popup window with javascript in flash

Hi everyone ;)
I wonder if there´s available some code/tutorial which
would make a "javascript call" and pop up what could bring some
content into a new window in actionscript 3. I have a actionscript
2 code for popup window but obviously it´s not working on my
website project because of the wrong flash type :| So do you know
how to make these kinds of pop up windows in as3?
http://flashden.net/files/42875/index.html

i am now down to only 1 error. How the script looks and the
only error generated are below.
on (release) {
getURL("javascript:newWindow=
window.open('
http://websitemedia.net/playground/ferrioni/sandbox/ferrioniaddress.html','popper1',
'width=425,height=300,scrollbars,resizable');
newWindow.focus(); void(0);");
error below:
**Error** Symbol=contact, layer=Layer 1, frame=1:Line 5:
String literal was not properly terminated
newWindow.focus(); void(0);");

    if(mark==1){
         create popup window, display some message, there is a
    button and click it to close this window.
    } else {
         display error message.

    Hi, bdtjdc,
    Thank you for your help and kindness.
    You know, I am a new one in javascript. So,

    need to pass some datas from current jsp page to next one.
    2, when I use the code you gave me as follows, there is no popup window and button:
    if(mark==1){
    %>
    <script language="JavaScript">
    message=message+'enter your message here...<br>';
    message=message+'<form name="form1"><input type="button" name="close" value="close window"
    onClick="window.close()"></form>';
    message='enter your message here...<br>';
    var actwin=window.open("","","menubar=0,width=300,height=300");
    actwin.document.write(message);
    actwin.document.close();
    actwin.focus();
    </script>
    <%
    } else {
    error message;
    if I use the code like this, We have the window and message on it, but there is no button on the window.
    if(mark==1){

    <script language="JavaScript">

    actwin.document.close();
    actwin.focus();
    </script>
    <%
    } else {
         error message;

  • Links that open a new window with javascript:void(null); do not work in 3.1

    I've been noticing that any site I go to that opens content in a new window with "javascript:void(null);" will be ignored by Safari 3.1. The links work in Firefox and used to work in Safari as well. Any suggestions?

    General rule of thumb in the Mac universe...
    When Safari is updated most if not all third party add-ons break. That's because most don't play by the rules. The developer thinks they know how to do it better than Apple so they just do it their way. So the first rule of survival is to KNOW what you have installed on your machine at all times. Use something like textedit to create a document listing all of the third party stuff you have installed and religiously update the list. Second rule is to wait a few days before applying an update. Third rule is to visit your third party developers' sites and make sure their little gadget is compatible with the new Safari update.
    Being aware of things will make life much easier for you in the long run.

    JSF is not so relevant in this question. It's all about how the generated client side code look like. Which is usually a bunch of HTML/CSS/JS (open page in browser, rightclick and view source). If you know HTML, you should know that using target="_blank" in a <form> or <a> element would open a new window. If you know JS, you should know that using window.open() would open a new window.
    Apply this so in the JSF source code so that the generated HTML/JS output is exactly what you want.

  • Popup windows with annotation

    When I click on an annotation, a litle popup windows is coming in the middle of the screen. Does it exit a way (preferences) to make this popup window to fit the entire screen (easier to read the text inside the popup windows with th vertical scroll bar).

    There is really no way to expand this popup ?
    Because on a PC, Adobe Reader is taking care of the dimensions I gave to this popup.
    I use QuickPdf library to do that. The command is :
    int QuickPDFAddNoteAnnotation(int InstanceID, double Left, double Top,
    int AnnotType, double PopupLeft, double PopupTop,
    double PopupWidth, double PopupHeight, wchar_t * Title,
    wchar_t * Contents, double Red, double Green, double Blue,
    int Open)
    Parameters
    Left The horizontal co-ordinate of the anchor for the annotation
    Top The vertical co-ordinate of the anchor for the annotation
    AnnotType The annotation type:
    0 = Note
    1 = Comment
    2 = Help
    3 = Insert
    4 = Key
    5 = New paragraph
    6 = Paragraph
    Add 100 to any of the above values to suppress the date shown in the popup
    annotation's title
    PopupLeft The horizontal co-ordinate of the left edge of the popup window
    PopupTop The vertical co-ordinate of the left edge of the popup window
    PopupWidth The width of the popup window
    PopupHeight The height of the popup window
    Title The title of the annotation
    Contents The body of the popup annotation
    Red The red component of the color of the annotation
    Green The green component of the color of the annotation
    Blue The blue component of the color of the annotation
    Open Specifies whether to show the annotation when the document is opened:
    0 = hide
    1 = show
    Unfortunatly the Android Adobe reader doesn't take care of theses values and put the popup windows in the middle of the screen
    It's very difficult to read the text on an galaxy SII : too small

  • New browser window with javascript

    Hello,
    I'm trying to accomplish something similar to what has been
    discussed in other threads (Jess Learnin, 9/30/2008, and another
    thread from back in '07). I've tried the advice given in these
    threads and have had no luck. I would like to create a button to
    call a new browser window that displays a URL of my choosing. I'd
    like to specify the size and attributes of the new window. I've
    created a small dummy tutorial in order to work on this feature.
    I'm using the "Execute Javascript" option when configuring
    the button. I include the following javascript:
    window.open('
    http://lib.berkeley.edu/BIOS/index.html',
    'myWindow','height=400, width=700, toolbar=no');
    I have the Captivate button context set to "Current". I have
    deselected "Continue Playing Project" (though I've tried it with
    that option selected as well).
    I've tried prefacing the script w/
    "javascript:window.open...", but no luck.
    I'm testing the file on a development server, rather than
    from a local copy. When I test in Firefox, my movie simply stops
    when I click the button, without opening a new window or loading a
    web page. When I test in IE7, the movie stops and I get a message,
    "Error on page"; still no new window.
    I do notice that I'm currently running Flash Player 10. I'm
    using Captivate 3. When I publish my file, my options only go up to
    Flash Player 9, which is what I have chosen. I don't know if this
    would make a difference.
    I have also tried altering the standard.js file in the manner
    that jbradley88 suggested in the 9/30/08 thread, and using the
    corresponding javascript in the button properties window, with
    similar unsuccessful results.
    I have tried running the movie on a different computer, in
    case some local setting was somehow mucking things up. I get
    nothing.
    Any suggestions? If anyone's willing to take a look, I can
    send along my small dummy .cp file that I've been working on.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Kelly

    Hi John,
    Here's the exact javascript that I currently have associated
    with the button:
    void(window.open('
    http://lib.berkeley.edu/BIOS/index.html',
    'myWindow','height=400, width=700, toolbar=no'));
    I've tried multiple permutations, including placing
    "javascript:" in front of the script, both with and without the
    void().
    The message in IE7 just says "Error on page". It's not a
    pop-up message; it's just the small message that appears at the
    bottom left of the browser window in IE7 when a page fails to load
    properly. The message doesn't appear until I click on the button
    that's supposed to call the javascript. There's a yellow
    exclamation point icon that appears next to the "Error on page"
    message. When I click on that I get:
    "Problems with this Web page might prevent it from being
    displayed properly or functioning properly. In the future, you can
    display this message by double-clicking the warning icon displayed
    in the status bar."
    It also displays a pointer to the error:
    Line: 1
    Char: 111
    Error: Syntax error
    Code: 0
    URL:
    http://library11.berkeley.edu/bios/kelly/Practice_demo.htm
    I looked at the source for the page as displayed by IE7 (have
    also looked at the .htm and .js files generated by Captivate) and
    haven't seen anything obvious, but I'm somewhat unschooled in such
    matters.
    If it would help to see what it does, you can view the demo
    at the URL above.
    Thx again,
    Kelly

  • Open page in popup window using javascript:popupURL

    Hi, call a page in a popup window works fine using javascript:popupURL, but my question is
    Is it possible to specify height, width, pos x and y for the popup window?
    Thx in advance,

    Derlis,
    sure, but I guess you will have to write your own javascript function to do so:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function myPopupURL(url)
      w = open(url,"winLov","Scrollbars=1,left=0,top=0,resizable=1,left=0,top=0,width=500,height=200");
      if (w.opener == null) w.opener = self;
      w.focus();
    </script>
    &lt;A href=&quot;javascript:myPopupURL('http://otn.oracle.com')&quot;&gt;OTN&lt;/A&gt;Best you put the javascript into the page header or page template header.
    You could even pass the parameters with each call to the javascript function as parameters.
    ~Dietmar.

  • Load page in popup window with different (from parent page) browser

    Hi,
    Environment: Windows XP or Windows 7, Visual Studio 2010, Internet Explorer 8 (IE)
    I have an application which opens page containing HTML editor.  Here you can edit a document (pooled from db). Next, btnPreview opens a new popup window and shows changes you made via Internet Explorer (IE - default browser).
    Here is original code - works OK when you run from both - VS 2010 (http://localhost:50827/NCSite/MenuEditor.aspx) or via browser IE (http://localhost/NCSite/MenuEditor.aspx).
    Please pay attention - with VS2010 was used a dynamic address (localhost:50827) created by VS2010
    Here is a code I used for that:
    URL = Request.Url.Scheme +
    "://" + Request.Url.Host + appPath + URL;
    ClientScriptManager cs = Page.ClientScript;
    cs.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(),
    "NewWindow",
    "<script>window.open('" + URL +
    "', 'New')</script>");
    Now I have a request to add two more buttons to preview in Google Chrome (GC) and Mozilla Firefox (FF).
    I used next code:
    using System.Diagnostics;
    //for btnIE:
    URL = Request.Url.Scheme +
    "://" + Request.Url.Host + appPath + URL;
    Process.Start("iexplore",
    URL);
    //for btnGC:
    URL = Request.Url.Scheme +
    "://" + Request.Url.Host + appPath + URL;
    Process.Start("chrome",
    URL);
    //for btnFF:
    URL = Request.Url.Scheme +
    "://" + Request.Url.Host + appPath + URL;
    Process.Start("firefox",
    URL);
    It works OK when you run from VS2010 (http://localhost:50827/NCSite/MenuEditor.aspx)
    but when you open application via default browser (IE) and after editing document press btnIE, btnGC, or btnFF it is not creating a new popup window and simply replacing existing window
    and shows updated document via IE.  Processes for GC and FF not even started (looked through Task Manager).
    Is it any way to solve that issue?
    Thanks,

  • ?? about popup window using javascript

    I am launching a popup window using the following script.
    locate.onRelease = function(){
    getURL("javascript:n_name=window.open('
    http://www.wesitename.com/webpage.cfm','name_name1','width=720,height=330,scrollbars=yes') ;void(0);");
    Right now all of my links load in the same popup window...
    but if that window isn't closed for (instance if it was minimized)
    by the user... and the user clicks another link for this popup...
    it stays behind the main page rather than coming to the front
    again..
    My question is... Is there anyway to assure that this browser
    window comes to the front when updated with a new click???
    Thank you in advance

    YOu could change the name_name1 for each link to name_2 name3
    and so on.
    By using same window name you load content into the same
    window, using new
    name makes automatically totally new request and new pop up.

    >Exit plugs do not work in a portal environment.
    This is a good point that I feel silly for not remembering...
    You can check if your application is running in the portal using the IF_WD_APPLICATION->GET_CLIENT_ENVIRONMENT method
      lo_api_componentcontroller = wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
      lo_api_application = lo_api_componentcontroller->get_application( ).
      l_client_environment = lo_ap_application->get_client_environment( ).
    if it is - then you can use the IF_WD_PORTAL_INTEGRATION interface
    lo_portal_integration = lo_api_componentcontroller->get_portal_manager( ).
    and the you can use the IF_WD_PORTAL_INTEGRATION methods to navigate eg - NAVIGATE_ABSOLUTE
    call method lo_portal_manager->navigate_absolute
        exporting
          navigation_target   = 'ROLES://portal_content/blah/test_URL'
          navigation_mode     = if_wd_portal_integration=>co_show_inplace
    If you're navigating in the portal you should probably have iViews set up for the apps you are calling, but it is possible to create a pass-through iView which will redirect to a URL passed as a parameter.
