Last night I turned my iPod touch 4g off randomly and then when I went to turn it back on and went to unlock the screen it froze up right there and will not unlock to the home screen to where all my apps and all that are. I have also seen it get a white screen to show a few times , which i assume means the white screen of death. I have never seen that screen before this happened.
I know this is not making any sense whatsoever but this is very hard to put into words in explaining. I have searched the internet but i can't find a single problem that sounds like this one in solving to fix it. The iPod is on right now as i'm typing this. I haven't attemtped to push the buttons down again to fix as i would assume maybe to just leave it alone as i sleep through the night in hopes of it maybe working or even dying. I've only had this iPod for 4 months now and i just don't understand why it won't let me turn it off completely or work properly for me to restore it.

My iPod has music and apps from my apple ID that I downloaded to my iPod via iCloud and some apps that I got free from the store, straight onto my iPod, but my laptop has some music on it aswell, separate from my other library. Here is an example: we go on vacation, she takes 250 photos, edits twenty of the best shots, and uploads three to facebook. I want to make an album including some of the edited shots and some of the less perfect but still fun shots - so I need all 250 photos - uploading that many photos to a photosharing site takes forever even if she did it - but she won't. I used to just hijack her computer for a day, but I'd like to be able to hijack her iphoto library without stealing her computer...if possible!

I want to sync my iPod to the Apple ID I am currently using but I want to know if the songs on my iPod from the previous Apple ID will disappear off of the iPod or go all grey so that I cant select them? I know that Apple says that it will delete the songs from my old Apple ID but what I noticed is that when I've deleted songs from my iPod using iTunes in the past is that they don't disappear from the iPod, they stay there but the names go grey so that I cant select them. Basically I want to know which will happen. Sorry if this is a bit confusing...

Not unless it was found to be defective, and that would not reset the warranty on the original serial number.

Sometimes it's just wrong. Perhaps the reseller entered in the sales date incorrectly. Call Apple support and discuss the problem with them. They may ask you to fax them a copy of your receipt.

You'll probably have difficulty convincing them that the scratch wasn't there when you brought it in, but you can go back to the store and talk to them about it.
