Porsche HD via Time Capsule
I'm trying to set up a new Porsche HD via my Time Capsule, and the LaCie software setup won't work, nor will Disk Utility recognize the new HD. Any ideas? Perhaps first setting up the HD directly to my Macbook via USB and then, once it's formatted, moving it to the Time Capsule ?

Yes.. sir.. cannot be done any other way.
Use HFS+ format on the hard disk.. if not already formatted as that.
If it is already Mac formatted you might need a powered hub on the TC. They are renowned as having power / chipset issues and failing to read even powered drives.

LaCie doesnt make ANYTHING. It contains a Seagate 3.5" 5400RPM HD.
Check the HD on another computer, if nothing, your SATA bridge is fried, or the HD (very unlikely since its a Seagate inside)
Youd have to crack open the HD, remove the SATA bridge cart thats plugged into the HD and put the HD into an enclosure or a HD dock to get the data
those external HD use a 50 cent SATA bridge famous for failing. The curse of all the good HD externals is the junk 3rd party SATA bridges attached to them that crash and burn.

Just had a new hard drive for my iMac and reloaded all my stuff via time capsule, all works fine apart from Safari which won't connect to internet. Airport is connected but each time Safari comes back saying there is no connection....any help gratefully recieved.

What is the IP ? > if its 169.254.xx.xx > its a self assigned
Try power cycling the Internet source for up to 1 mintue and make sure all the lights turn off.

Edit > network > rotuer mode : Should be DHCP and NAT unless you use PPPoE to conecnt to the internet then this is automatically invoked. -
HP Laserjet 1020 Print Wirelessly Via Time Capsule?
Is it possible to set up an HP Laserjet 1020 to print wirelessly via time capsule? I already know I have to use the 1022 driver, and my printer works perfectly when the usb is plugged into my Macbook air. I plugged it into the new time capsule I just bought and added it on my Macbook as a network printer, but it wont print. Any tips or suggestions would be extremely helpful! Thanks in advance!

anyone have this problem before?I have just purchased the latest Time Capsule and have exactly the same problem with my HP F2280 when printing from my iMac. Very odd. So started surfing the web and it appears we are not alone and there is no easy fix. Anyway it appears the scanner will not work via the TC either, never crossed my mind when I purchased it that I would have such problems. Two thumbs down for TC

VNC remote my computer from Internet via time capsule
I have several computers connected with Airport via time capsule to Internet.
When I am out of office, how can I remote one of the computers from the Ipad? I use Mocha VNC
I´ve been trying but impossible to find the complete IP or DNS name, my IPAD do not find any of the computers if connected via Time Capsule
I have no prob when connecting one computer to modem directly , It works fine If I write the IP on my IPAD.
Back to my mac and VNC password settings seems correct.Try locking the wireless channels for 2.4ghz.. instead of auto use 1, 6 or 11. Test each in turn.
I would also suggest using a SMB name.. ie short, no spaces.. pure alphanumeric.
Did you happen to upgrade to latest iOS?? People are experiencing some bugs.. which is no real suprise.
Has the phone worked before and stopped working after some change you made.. or have you never been able to connect using this phone. -
Certain pages won't open via Time Capsule - why?
First of all, my internet works fine via Time Capsule - except 2 internet pages I cannot open. I tried with my HP Laptop (not via Time Capsule), they work. So it's to the pages fault.
Does anybody have an idea why? Here are the pages

Already tried: Reset Time Capsule, Delete Cookies, Reset Safari, Google Chrome/Firefox (exactly the same pages won't work there either), Restart Computer, Update Flash Player - nothing helped.1. Checked with ISP, everything is fine (Pages worked when i used my old HP laptop wirth the same ethernet cable...)

I though I could print from iPhone/iPad to Canon via Time Capsule, or?Not sure what the time capsule has to do with it.
If your printer is an airprint enable printer, then you can use it with airprint. If it is not airprint enabled then you cannot.
You can look for apps that provide printing.

Windows XP won't connect to Internet via Time Capsule AE
I've got a MacBook Pro and MacBook using Airport Extreme via Time Capsule. I recently partitioned MacBook Pro and added Windows XP via Boot Camp. The XP sees the Airport but cannot connect. I've added the same key to XP as used for Mac access, but it still doesn't connect.
Its a WPA2 Personal Key. XP allows WEP, WPA, and WPA-??? (there are three other letters there that are NOT "2" or "Personal"). It allows one of two "types" that are TKIP or AS? (Three letters that I can't remember.) I'm completely lost.
I also tried changing channels, but that's frustrating unless I just change from the PC end. I had been changing them on the Mac, then rebooting to XP to see what happens. (Nothing, so far.)
Has anyone successfully gotten XP on the Wireless?XP wireless to a Time Capsule works fine. Problem is, as you've found, choosing the right wireless security, then entering the key in the right format.
Because of this problem in mixed OS X / XP networks, I've stuck with WEP. It's less secure, but it works!
I live in a rural area, so wireless security isn't really an issue.
Try reconfiguring your TC to use WEP. Once you've got it working, investigate the other security options. -
Can't connect my new iPhone 4 with internet via Time Capsule. IP4 recognized TC but will not connect with it. (Password etc. is ok)
Do the usual wireless things.
Change the wireless name to simple name with only alphanumerics and no spaces.
Set to manual and use channels 1, 6, 11 in turn.
For testing take off the security altogether.
The iphone only works on 2.4ghz so only that band is relevant. -

Hey mate I had this same problem exept instead of my recording disappearing my Chorus that went for 8 bars extended out to 20 bars lol and I used auto tune on it and it sounds like t-pain on a very bad day so it sounds like it does a few things when it comes up that error

How to retrieve files on external HDD via Time Capsule?
I have external HDDs connected to Time Capsule but when I access those HDDs, they don't show the files that were stored in them. However, when I check the "Get Info" on those HDDs, it shows how much capacity is used and how much is available. How can I retrieve my files on those external HDDs via Time Capsule? How is the drive formatted?
Does it show up in the airport utility?
TC has very restricted ability to read HFS+ (ie standard Mac format) or Fat32. -

I've searched and come across various topics about connecting the DirecTV DVR to the internet via Time Capsule, but none of them seem to provide a solution for wireless connectivity.
Can anyone point me to a topic where it describes the steps and any issues related to getting my DirecTV DVR connected to the internet via the Time Capsule wirelessly.
I have gone through the setup and I get connected to my network, but I get the error when it tries to connect to the internet.
Do I have to do any port forwarding or anything special?
I use to have my Netgear supporting this configuration, just purchased the Time Capsule and now I cannot get my DVR connected.

Jeff...The Direct TV DVR has an Ethernet connection on the back, which is strongly recommended if you intend to download movies or any kind of high definition material.
If you are trying to use the new Whole Home feature, wireless is not supported by Direct TV for this service.
If you are trying to connect to the DVR using wireless from the Time Capsule, you must be using some sort of wireless to Ethernet bridge device.
What device are you trying to use?
Have you verified that this device is compatible with the Time Capsule?
As a test, connect the adapter/bridge to your laptop and turn the wireless off on the laptop. Open your browser to see if you can get an Internet connection.
If you can, you know the network connection is good and the focus shifts to the DVR as the source of the problem.
If you can't, we'll need to figure out if the adapter you are using will work the Time Capsule. -

Is it cable modem? If so did you power cycle the modem for the required time.. it might be 30min or just 5min or many hours depending on the ISP.
Tell us more.
For mavericks please ensure your network connections have ipv6 set correctly.. ie link-local.
