Port 25 Blocked?

Hello,
I have family members and guests who come over to our house and can't send outgoing email becuase port 25 seems to be blocked on the verizon network. I see the need to reduce spam, however blocking port 25 across the board and not letting indivual customers call in to unblock the port is _VERY_ annoying. Please unblock port 25 verizon!

Port 25 is only blocked for people using non-Verizon outbound servers on a Verizon connection. You can configure their outbound server to use some port other than 25, or you can configure their account to use Verizon's outbound server until they leave.
Allowing customers to call in and unblock the port would make the whole system ineffective. "Excuse me, I'd like to send some email, please. I promise it's not spam." - Which is exactly what every spammer would say, too. If you really want it unblocked, you can sign up for a static IP address. At that point they can hold you accountable for messages sent from your IP.

  • DIO Port Config & DIO Port Write Block Diagram Errors (Call Library Function Node:library not found or failed to load)

Hi Guys, need help on this.
I have this LabVIEW program that used to work on the old computer.
The old computer crashes most of the time, so I upgraded the computer
and used its Hard Drive as slave to the new computer.
I have no idea where are its installers since the guy that made the program
is not in my department anymore.
I downloaded all the drivers needed from NI: NIDAQ9.0, NIVISA,NI488.2,
and drivers of some instruments needed in the setup. I'm using LabVIEW8.2.
Everything's fine until I open the LabVIEW program for our testing.
    Here goes the error:
       DIO Port Config
       DIO Port Write
    Block Diagram Errors
Call Library Function Node: library not found or failed to load

    ErrorList.JPG ‏200 KB

Honestly, I'm a newbie on Labview. I just want this old program to run on the new computer.
The guys that installed the drivers on the old computer are no longer here in my department.
And I have no idea where the drivers are. So I just downloaded the drivers needed for my hardware and instruments.
    Here's my hardware: (cards: PCI-DIO-96, PCI-GPIB), (instruments: SCB100,E4407B, HP83623, HP3458, HP8657)
    OS: Windows XP Pro
By the way, I have unzipped the TraditionalDAQ drivers. First I tried the 7.4.1, but installation error appeared.
I thought maybe the installer is corrupted, so I downloaded the 7.4.4 and unzipped it.
But, still same installation error appears. I don't understand, both TraditionalDAQ drivers have same installation error.
Now I have tried the DAQmx8.7.2 driver, bu still the DIO Port Config and DIO Port Write have errors.

  • What incoming public TCP ports are blocked?

I just setup my 890L to forward incoming public TCP ports to to a couple of my LAN devices.  Unfortunately, it looks like VZB is purposefully blocking common incoming TCP ports.
I tried searching on google.com for what ports are blocked; but, just found a bunch of posts like this one.  Some people actually tried contacting 1st and 2nd tied VZB tech support about this; but, it's clear they don't have this information available to them.
Has anyone verified what incoming public TCP ports are not blocked?  There's no easy way for me to test this using my 890L.

You can find out for yourself which ports are being blocked by using a Port Query utility.  Depending on the OS of your computer there should be multiple utilties available for free floating around.
As we have seen numerous times before, devices on VZW's new SIM card/4G LTE network are blocked from many of the public facing services and features we have previously been dependant on.  Public IP Addresses, Public Ports, Webcams, VOIP phones, etc. all suffer under the same umbrella of limitations on the new network.  The list is too long to publish everything that is blocked or not working as it previously did.  Much easier for you to post the requirements of your application and have us confirm if its working or not.
If you have not already experimented with VPN's I'd suggest checking them out.  VPN's are one of the easiest ways around these new limitations.  With a VPN enabled your device will tunnel all of its communications out an allowed port to a VPN server where your traffic is free to act normally before returning to you.

  • OfficeJet 6500A Printer appears to have ethernet disabled - port is blocked with yellow plug.

Hi, I bought an OfficeJet 6500A Plus around a year ago and have been using it with variable success using wireless internet. I thought it might help to connect it using wired ethernet, but I've just discovered that the ethernet port is blocked by a yellow plug.
From the documentation I've found online, this ought to be enabled, so I can't understand why it is not - can anybody explain what's going on?
    This question was solved.

That is a shipping plug, just remove the plug and you will be able to attach the ethernet cable.

  • What ports are blocked with Homefusion

I am trying to figure out what ports are blocked on the homefusion service.

There is no official list of blocked ports for HomeFusion or any of the other VZW products.  All products are treated the same way.  The NAT firewall on VZWs new LTE network is responsible for blocking internet communication as well as hiding public IP Addresses. No manual configuration of the devices themselves will allow you to work around the issue.  In truth it would be easier to create a list of the allowed ports but we don't have one of those either.
A rule of thumb is that you should assume any custom or unusual ports are blocked.  Even the less popular mainstream ports are blocked some times.  Only the major mainstream public ports are normally available.  You have to test out your applications to know for sure if they work.  If you have a laptop then stop by a VZW store and use one of their devices to test if it works before you buy.
Also, anything depending on Public IP Addresses is broken on the new LTE network.  Some common examples are VOIP phones, Xbox hosting, IP security cameras, etc.  If you need remote access to your local network then forget about it.
The work around to blocked ports and Public IPs are as follows:
    1. Setup a VPN to connect to a network where the ports are open
    2. Purchase a static IP Address from VZW for $500.00
    3. Use a different ISP
VZW does not make exceptions for port blocking.  You have to work around them or get by without them.

  • SMTP Port 25 blocked to my own relay server?

    Hi all,
I am a noob to this forum. So dont smake me to hard.
I have the Verizon Wireless/router/modem I was looking around in there to allow me to use my hp scanner to connect to a smtp server across the wan. The firewall on the other side is allowing my traffic in so I should be able to hit the relay server (NOT VERIZON'S) but I have my own in a remote location but I cannot get it to work communicate on port 25.
If I open port 27 ESMTP on the destination and change the smtp server to use it then I can telnet ipaddress 27 and I would get the HELO response but not the case with port 25. Of course you maybe thinking "Why dont you set your scanner for 27"? Well I wish I could or I would not be in this forum
Its an HP 4100MFP scanner and there is an option of "SMTP" i enter the SMTP gateway address and thats it no other option.
So I will assume its blocked even though I want to hit my own smtp relay server ip ? I suppose my only other option is to put a firewall in and just vpn to the destination and be done with it. Anyhow I wanted to ask the group in this forum.
I have seen a few things on SMTP before I posted but not exactly what I wanted, it seems folks want access to smtp period but I just want access to my own SMTP server in a remote location.. So is it possible on port 25 or am I over looking something in my verizon mia424wr.
I assure you its NOT the destination.
    thanks for reading.

What about Port 80 - is it blocked?
What ports are blocked using Verizon FiOS?
No ports are blocked on business accounts with static IP addresses.
or port 80 info, see: »Verizon Online FiOS FAQ »What about Port 80 - is it blocked?
Outbound port 25 has been blocked on and off in the past, most recently blocked again effective 6/1/10. Inbound port 25 is currently open. Even if port 25 is not blocked, Verizon's dynamic IP addresses are listed in both the Spamhaus Policy Block List (PBL) and MAPS DUL. The PBL is/can be used by mail exchange servers (MX's) to reject connections from these addresses. Thus, for the purpose of running a mail exchange server port 25 is effectively blocked. However, a mail server can be run that utilizes Verizon's authenticated SMTP just like your mail client would do.
As always, YMMV. It has been reported that sometimes a port which should be blocked by standard Verizon policy has instead been left open. Which ports are blocked may change in the future.

  • Is port 80 blocked on FIOS Internet?

    Hi there,
I just bought HP home server, and I tried to do Port Forwarding on the router. If I set incoming port to 8080, it works, but if incoming port to 80, it doesn't. Even the router doesn't work with Remote Administrator on port 80. Do you guys have the similar problem? Is port 80 blocked by FIOS?
    Thank you.

  • I recently upgraded to Fios Quantum and have a new ActionTech router. As a result my PC is no longer communicating with my APPLE TV.It must have a firewall or ports beegin blocked preventing the homesharing and communication even though the APPLE TV is on

I recently upgraded to Verizon Fios Quantum high speed internet and was given an ActionTec router. I sucessfully installed all and connected wth my Apple TV. Although it worked initially it no longer does.  Something appears to be blocking  the Homesharing between my PC and the AppleTV even though the Apple TV is successfully connected to my home network. I spoke with an Apple Support Tech who was unable to help me becuase I have a PC! He admitted this is a common problem with FIOS and PCS. There must be a port that needs to be opened in the router. I do not beleive it is anything to do with my antivirus software or Windows Defender as i uninstalled all and still not communication. Must be a port within the routter that is blocking tis communication. On my Itunes you can see that it does not see the Apple TV. Please advise.

I'd have to agree. I set my vms and two clients on Saturday in one hour. I think the picture is better I did not see an issue with the brightness. For the heck of it I recorded five channels at once to test it. I've also noticed when playing a recorded show on the client everything responds a lot quicker. So I am impressed and curious to see what new features come later.
    Kudos to verizon.

  • Port 6667is blocked by my firewall, before there was no problem using this how do i fix it

hi.i have been using a site for a while now and my firewall has been on ,today i went to that site and the chat feature and it say's port 6667 is blocked by the fire wall, how do i repair this

This is a typical response from the manufacturer. Did you try the fix that Lawrence mentioned. When Apple or any other phone manufacturer update phone software, they have the latest Bluetooth installed. It is usually the problem with the radio manufacturer that they devices are using the older Bluetooth protocols. You can try this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3581 and see if anything there helps, but generally it requires the radio manufacturer to update their firmware.

  • Dreaded "port 3689 blocked" message when trying to sync Apple TV

    I have a suggestion that MIGHT help others . . .
I, too, received the infamous "3689 blocked" message when syncing my ATV (1st gen) to iTunes.  Never had the issue before, maybe the latest update to iTunes had something to do with it?
Anyway, I tried everything . . . turning off firewall, adding access to port 3689 (TCP protocol) for the Apple TV in my router software, etc.  All to no avail.  Same error.  Then, I came across a reference online to adding access to port 5353 (UDP protocal) . . . that was the trick (at least for me).  So, include both in your firewall access and/or router port forwarding access and see if that does the trick for you.

You don't need to, just check your firewall settings and ensure that access is allowed to iTunes.
Are you running any other security software on your Mac.

  • Can a port be blocked if Firewall is turned off?

I'm trying to configure a Retrospect Server running on a OS X 10.3.9 Server, and for some reason the server is not connecting to clients outside it's same subnet. I'm able to connect directly to the client using their IP, but Retrospect's subnet broadcasting is not working. One possible problem suggested by Dantz is that my Firewall is blocking port 497. My Firewall Service is not runnin, but I was just wanted to know if the port could still be blocked even if the Service is turned off. The other problem may be our Switch not set to multicast, but I wanted to verify this possible problem first.
    Thank you in advance.
    G4s, G5s   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

If the firewall isn't on, the port isn't blocked. It may be that no application is listening on port 497, but it isn't blocked.

  • PC videocam/MAC AIRPORT wireless interconnection; ports apparently blocked

We connect a PC (Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2) wirelessly to the Internet with Airport Extreme.
    All connections work fine.
However, when we wish to (let's call it) video-conference with partners across the country, certain of our ports seem to be blocked. While we can dial out (using PolyCom software package) and connect. the far site can see us, but we can neither hear nor see them.
The far site (none of several) cannot connect us -- message: "No Network Service available." -- or the equivalent.
We have tried to forward the ports within the LAN: no soap.
We have connected directly to the modem vie Ethernet cable: nope.
Two firewalls have been turned off: "Windows XP Fireweall" and the firewall with Semantec AntiVirus.
To no avail. We have been told that there is an Apple firewall blocking some ports. Doesn't seem likely, as iChat/iSight connections work on the Apple computers on this network.
    Ideas?
    Thanks!!

Thanks for responding. I have now partially resolved the problem and will probably repost a new question for the remaing of my troubleshooting issues. To answer your question and help anyone else who may benefit from the information here is what I found out. My network consists of 5 computers; 2 wired MAC G4 desktops, a MAC iBook G4 laptop and 2 PC laptops. The AirPort Express is in client mode (i.e. meaning that it conects to a router via an Ethernet cable.) The router then connects to a cable modem and then to the internet. All the laptops use the AirPort Express to connect to the internet. The wired MAC laptops simply use the AirPort Express to stream AirTunes to a Bose Wave Station. I am not able to run either the Airport Step Utility or the Airport Admin Utility on the wired MACs (most likely because they don't have Airport Cards), but I can run those utility programs on the MAC and PC laptops. I used the MAC laptop to reconfigure the AirPort Express the way that I wanted and I am able to stream AirTunes to the AirPort Express. Everything works fine now except I can't use AirTunes with the wired MACs which I could do with the old router.
I have read the forums regarding issues with iTunes 7 and AirTunes and tried those solutions but nothing has worked so far. I guess that will be my next posted troubleshooting question.

  • Strange ARD port 3283 block

My ARD worked fine to two XServes ("tulip" and "video") on the same subnet.
I accidentally turned off ARD on tulip (Server 10.6.2) FROM the client ARD. DUH!
Anyhow, I restarted it following the guidelines here
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2342445&tstart=15
    and here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2370
However, I can't log in any more with ARD on tulip. A port scan shows that port 3283 is blocked.
The firewall service is off. Changing ethernet switch ports with "video" does no good, "video" still works with ARD but tulip does not, so it's not a switch issue. sudo ipfw list shows this
00001 allow udp from any 626 to any dst-port 626
01000 allow ip from any to any via lo0
01010 deny ip from any to 127.0.0.0/8
01020 deny ip from 224.0.0.0/4 to any in
01030 deny tcp from any to 224.0.0.0/4 in
12300 allow tcp from any to any established
12301 allow tcp from any to any out
12302 allow tcp from any to any dst-port 22

12304 allow tcp from any to any dst-port 53 out keep-state
12304 allow udp from any to any dst-port 53 out keep-state
12305 allow udp from any to any in frag
12306 allow tcp from any to any dst-port 311
12307 allow tcp from any to any dst-port 625
12308 allow icmp from any to any icmptypes 8
12309 allow icmp from any to any icmptypes 0
12310 allow igmp from any to any
12311 allow tcp from any to any dst-port 23
12311 allow udp from any to any dst-port 23

12313 allow udp from any to any dst-port 3283,5900
65534 deny ip from any to any
65535 allow ip from any to any
ARD needs open TCP and UDP port 3283 and TCP and UDP port 5900. And for encrypted file transfer TCP port 22. 5900 and 22 are open.
Is there any rule that would be blocking port 3283 on tulip?
The ARD Discussion sent me here! Thanking anyone for info.

    foilpan, thanks for the response.
I ran kickstart combination, as I mentioned above, many times with no luck, and also manually turned ARD on and off, with full admin privileges.
Port 3283 is closed and stays that way, even though the Firewall service is off and System Preferences>Sharing>Apple Remote Desktop is On.
You need both 5900 and 3283 TCP/UDP for full ARD functionality. Port 22 is used for file transfers.
This is not so much an ARD question as how do I open port 3283 on the server?
Is there a command line or ipfw parameter I can change?
Is the syntax correct in the above ipfw list for 3283?
    Thanks

  • Firewall Port 3689 blocks sync?

    Hi there,
I have an apple TV and an iMac and when i want to sync them i usually get the error message "sync not possible...check if a firewall blocks port 3869" (or so, message comes of course in my native language german).
However, i dont have a firewall, the firewall is not activated in system settings and when i change something in the apple TV s<nc options and try again it will sync
    any ideas?
same problem with airport AND ethernet
    thanks alex

I was having the same problem ...
Sync from iTunes (MAC G5 / OS X 1.5.2) to Apple TV (V 2.0.2) fails with "Apple TV is not responding.
And the suggestion to check the FIREWALL settings on the computer (running iTunes) for PORT 3689.
I found that I could resolve the issue by using the "SECURITY TOOL" of "Systems Preferences" and choosing the "FIREWALL" tab.
    (1) Choose the mode of operation "Set access for specific services and applications"... then
    (2) use "+" tool to add an entry for the iTunes application (Allow incoming connections) ... then
    (3) when you select the "+" tool, a dialog will open to allow you to navigate to application location, select iTunes, and a new rule entry will be created in your FIREWALL.
    (4) Restart iTunes ... and you should be able to SYNC from iTunes to Apple TV with the FIREWALL ON.
In the past, for most applications, Apple has usually added the required application access rule to the FIREWALL. Apparently there has been a revision in this practice.

Im using a site online to upload and donwload some files (www.uptobox.com), since they made maintennance on it i cannot do anything, i contact them and thy told me that i must have a firewall wich block my 8080 port, i try to find a way to unlock it but i really dont know how to do... Can somebody help me for this??? Please!!!
good day to all!!! and thanks in advance!!!

It is a setting on your router, Not on your computer, that May Be blocking port 8080. Or it could be your ISP that is blocking it.
Try Rebooting all your equipment, Modem, Router and computer.

  • Port 8989 blocked?

    Hi all!
I have andFTP app installed on my droid X. I connect via FTP on port 8989 (instead of the traditional port 21). It works fine when I am connected through wifi; however it does NOT work when I try it over 3G. Does anyone know if Verizon blocks port 21 or 8989? I attempted to call tech support however, that was the most unproductive call I have ever made. The guy could not understand my question and was not even sure what I meant by "port".
    CAN ANYONE HELP?!

What!!! We got a app for that? .   I am surprised my brain didnt think to check the market.. , I am going to have to check that one out myself, it may be handy to save.
