Hi !!
Im using a site online to upload and donwload some files (www.uptobox.com), since they made maintennance on it i cannot do anything, i contact them and thy told me that i must have a firewall wich block my 8080 port, i try to find a way to unlock it but i really dont know how to do... Can somebody help me for this??? Please!!!
good day to all!!! and thanks in advance!!!

It is a setting on your router, Not on your computer, that May Be blocking port 8080. Or it could be your ISP that is blocking it.
Try Rebooting all your equipment, Modem, Router and computer.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • Port 8080: I know this is simple, I just can't get it to work.

I'm trying something that I'm sure is relatively simple. But I just can't get it to work. I have OSX Server 10.4.10. I currently have my company site (www.example.com) hosted on it. But I'm trying to get another site hosted on it at port 8080. When I enter my company domain, www.example.com:8080, the page can't be displayed. But when I enter the IP address, such as 192.168.xxx.xxx:8080 from within my network, the correct site shows up. How can I get a website displayed at port 8080 from outside my network? I'm running DD-WRT on my router and have ports 80 and 8080 directed to the IP address of my server.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi WiFiNetGuy-
I am a tad confused, which isn't new, but I need to get a grasp on exactly what it is that you are trying to do.
Do you have both websites (i.e. www.example1.com and www.example2.com) both pointed at the same ip address? How many unique domain names and ip addresses are we talking about?
From what you describe it sounds like a routing issue but I need more info (:>)
    Luck-

Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
There may be third-party software that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause these errors. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance or follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.
Verify that communication to albert.apple.com or photos.apple.com is not blocked by a firewall, or other Internet security setting.
Discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. See the steps underAdvanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations.
Restore your device while connected to a different network.
    Restore using a different computer.

  • What incoming public TCP ports are blocked?

I just setup my 890L to forward incoming public TCP ports to to a couple of my LAN devices.  Unfortunately, it looks like VZB is purposefully blocking common incoming TCP ports.
I tried searching on google.com for what ports are blocked; but, just found a bunch of posts like this one.  Some people actually tried contacting 1st and 2nd tied VZB tech support about this; but, it's clear they don't have this information available to them.
Has anyone verified what incoming public TCP ports are not blocked?  There's no easy way for me to test this using my 890L.

You can find out for yourself which ports are being blocked by using a Port Query utility.  Depending on the OS of your computer there should be multiple utilties available for free floating around.
As we have seen numerous times before, devices on VZW's new SIM card/4G LTE network are blocked from many of the public facing services and features we have previously been dependant on.  Public IP Addresses, Public Ports, Webcams, VOIP phones, etc. all suffer under the same umbrella of limitations on the new network.  The list is too long to publish everything that is blocked or not working as it previously did.  Much easier for you to post the requirements of your application and have us confirm if its working or not.
If you have not already experimented with VPN's I'd suggest checking them out.  VPN's are one of the easiest ways around these new limitations.  With a VPN enabled your device will tunnel all of its communications out an allowed port to a VPN server where your traffic is free to act normally before returning to you.

  • Port 25 blocked; can't send mail

I didn't keep track when the problem started a couple of weeks ago, as I thought it was with my ISP: about mid-afternoon I would stop being able to send outgoing mail, although incoming mail would still get through and I had no trouble browsing the web. In the early evening I would finally be able to get through again. This didn't happen every day, but it always took the same pattern when it did. Then yesterday the problem began about 11:30 am, and it was 10:30 pm before I could send mail again; and this morning I lost the ability to send mail out about 9:15.
So I phoned my ISP, and found the problem did not lie in their server as I had expected (Entourage was giving me the standard message "An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic.//Mail could not be sent.//Error: -3259"). The fault is not in Entourage itself, either; Mail is blocked the same way, and the timeout also occurs when I telnet to the SMTP server in Terminal (I can telnet to the POP server just fine). The problem remains when I disable Norton Personal Firewall, NAV, and Snort.
The trouble seems to be confined to my machine. I am cabled to an AirPort Extreme base station; our network includes another two eMacs and a PC, all connected wirelessly. I tried to telnet from one of the other Macs and had no trouble.
So what can I do to discover what's blocking port 25, and how to unblock it? What haven't I thought of? (Probably something obvious...)
    TIA, Jeff

That's good advice, but I'm stymied: whenever I try to run Norton Uninstaller, it gives me a nasty message "UNKNWON_ERROR" [sic] many times repeated, and nothing has been removed. I'm hesitant to remove files manually without knowing what support files to get rid of besides the application(s).
But having tried again before replying, I can now add to the characterization of the problem. When Norton Uninstaller asked me to restart, I booted in Single User mode and ran fsck. A sh*tload of orphaned temp files showed up and had to be cleared. When I got back into normal mode, the fault had cleared (no surprise, really).
So the question becomes this: What process running on my machine is breaking down so as to block me from sending SMTP?
A further symptom turns out to be that, although my machine was properly connected to the internet through the AirPort Extreme base station, and was getting a good DHCP lease, the base station itself was inaccessible from AirPort Admin Utility. (I looked because I wanted to see whether there could be anything blocking my machine alone from that end.) That too now works.
Anyway, I now know how to recover when the SMTP problem arises. But that's only half the issue -- I really want to know what's going wrong in the first place, so I can prevent it happening in the future.

  • TS1368 When I am looking at iTunes on my PC, running Windows 7 (updates are complete), and click on the iTunes Store block in the upper left hand corner, I get the message that "iTunes has stopped working".  What can you suggest?

iTunes crashes when I click the iTunes Store block.  What can I do to get the iTunes Store to open on my computer running Window 7 (all updates installed)?  It used to work last fall but some update must have reset something or the newer version of iTunes omitted something that would allow access to the Store from a PC.

    Look here.
