Port 8888 for MAMP-Apache vs. port 80 for OSX-Apache

I'm trying to set up MAMP and don't know whether to choose port 8888 for MAMP-Apache or port 80 for the OSX-Apache. I had read that you can't use port 80 if file sharing is turned on because you can't have two versions of Apache running at the same time.
Thanks for clarifying.
Ramone

I had read that you can't use port 80 if file sharing is turned on because you can't have two versions of Apache running at the same time.
Mac OS X's built-in File Sharing uses port 548(AFP) and doesn't have anything to do with Apache.

  • Choosing ports for MAMP

When setting up MAMP how do I determine which ports to use:
Apache Port: 8888 or 80 (default)
MySQL Port: 8889 or 3303 (default)
    Thanks.

    Not necesarily
    Remeber always this
    Apache need
    Listen and Port Directives.
Listen is like a hardport has to be open and unused
Port is like softport and it needs that some one else has it open and in use
Webcache Listen has to be the same for Port in Apache
So. if you are going to have in Apache something like this
    Listen 4444
    <Virtualhost *:4444>
    Servername myserver.com
    SSLEngine On
    SSL...
    Port 443
    </virtualHost>
In webcache you need to have a port 443 as listen.
And you may use same Certificate for both.
    Greetings.

  • How do I open the same ports on an Airport Extreme Base Station for multiple computers at the same time?

    As the title suggests...
I have a mix of five Mac and PC's at home using an Airport Extreme Base Station as the router.   I need many ports opened on the AEBS for all of the computers- not just one computer.  (for example: three people want to play TF2 on Steam at the same time; each machine needs the correct ports open on the router).   Port forwarding  only allows me to forward a given port to a single IP, yet I need that port open for five differnt IP's, all at the same time.
How do I do that on an AEBS?
In the same way, I have a small office of four iMacs using an old airport with the same exact issue.   I would like to be able to connect to all of them remotely with Apple Remote Desktop, but the port forwarding on the airport only allows a port to forward to a single IP.   I want to be able to tunnel into the office network and log onto any machine behind the Airport extreme... not just a single IP.    I currently have it set up where I can tunnel into the office from my house, I can find the one machine that the port forwarding has been assigned to, I can log on and everything is just fine... with one machine.    How do I open the firewall for the other machines?
TL,DR version:  How do you open ports on an Airport Extreme Base Station instead of forwarding ports?   Forwarding ports doesn't work for multiple IP's.

You can open a single or multiple ports to a single device or different ports to different devices, but you cannot open the same port to multiple devices via the AirPort Utility for the Apple routers.

  • W530 – Solution for lack of eSATAp port

    Hi All,
When I was analyzing laptop specifications to buy a new one, I was disappointed because I have some external eSATA disks, and there were no eSATAp connector on any W530 model. Anyway, I brought one and I can assure you it is a solid and great machine.
Meanwhile I found a good and almost inexpensive solution for this problem. It is a small adapter from Addonics that connects to USB 3.0 port and converts to an eSATAp port. (Since I live in Portugal to avoid customs costs I got mine from Aimtec (UK)).
I measure transfers of 120 MB/s with my 2,5” external disk and so far I am totally satisfied with this solution. To avoid mechanical stress in the laptop port, I suggest using an small USB3.0 extension cable (15 cm) instead of connecting directly the adapter to the computer.
(NOTE: I have no comercial interest or own any stock options on the referred companies. My only purpose is to share with other members this workaround since Lenovo dropped the support of eSATAp ports on W530 model).

    Dear sophware,
I don't think this Sonnet adapter supplies power to the external drive. It is eSATA not eSATAp. In this case it is necessary to connect another cable to an USB port to supply power to the external disk.
In my own opinion I think it is better to have an external adapter than an internal one:
    a) If outside, the heat it generates will be dissipated in the air while the heat generated by the internal adapter will be added to the one already inside and generated by the CPU, graphics etc..
    b) Call me a too much careful person, but in case of internal adapter problem or short circuit, I prefer it occurs outside my machine. The electrical isolation is greater in a USB port than in the ExpressCard/34 Bus. Any electric pick or static discharge and the motherboard internal bus buffers may be damage.
These are the reasons why I choose an external adapter.
    Best regards,
    A.Nuno

  • No Service for System SAPECC(Sender Port), Client800(R/3 system client 800)

    Hi friends,
I am new to XI/PI I am working with IDOC to Flat file scenario I am facing the folllowing error.
No Service for System SAPECC(Sender Port), Client800(R/3 system client 800) in integration Directory.
can any one tell what was the reason for this error.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ravi Yasoda.

    Hi Ravi,
Have you imported the Business System in Integration Directory?
Check whether  you see the logical system name in adapter specific identifiers or not...
Also check from integration directory that cache notification was done and also check SXI_CACHE in the abap stack.
    See this thread...
No service for system SAP***, client 001 in Integration Directory
Please go through below content from sap note  for your issue...
Error message: No service for system SAPABC client 123 in the integration directory
    Solution:
You send IDocs from system ABC to XI. In the control record of the IDoc,the SNDPOR field contains the value "SAPABC". The client of the sending system is determined by the MANDT field of the control record. The system ID and client are then used to determine a service without party of the
    type (business-system/business-service):
    Business system
-> Activities in the System Landscape Directory (SLD)(Create technical
    system):
Create a technical system for system ABC in the SLD, and create the client for this. Do not forget to assign an "ALE logical system" (for example, "ABCCLNT123") to this technical system.
    SLD (Business system):
You can now explicitly assign a business system to this client. For more details, refer to the SLD documentation.
Activities in system ABC (self-registration in the SLD):
Alternatively, you can register the system in the SLD in system ABC with Transaction RZ70. You will find detailed information about the SLD registration of systems on the SAP Service Marketplace for the
"Exchange Infrastructure" in the document "Exchange_Installation_Guide.pdf".
In system ABC, you can check your configuration with Transaction SLDCHECK.
Activities in Integration Directory (import business system from SLD):
You will find the business systems under Services Without Party in the Integration Services. In the Service menu, you will find the system identifiers, the client, and the corresponding ALE logical
system under "Objects"->"Adapter-specific identifiers". Use the Import/Update button to copy the data from the SLD, to create business systems, or to update their identifiers.
    Business service
-> Activities in the Integration Builder directory:
You want to create a service without party that is not part of your system infrastructure and is therefore not maintained in the SLD. In the Integration Builder directory, you will find the "Business-Services" under Services Without Party. In the Service menu, you will find the system identifiers, the client, and the corresponding ALE logical system under "Objects"->"Adapter-specific
    identifiers".
Activate the change list in Integration Directory.
In system ABC, you can restart the incorrect entry from Transaction SM58 .

  • What ports need to be open on Fw for Waas Communication--Urgent

                       Hi All,
This product is new to need your help in configuring this. I am explaining the architecture below:-
We have a requirement to use WAVE-594-K9 Software Release 5.3.1 and in our Manila location and it will not talk to Waas central Manager in our client location instead client has installed one same model Wave-594 in PHX.
So now client has said it will only be used for caching contents and not for optimizing, they have some video training on web which will be passed through this wave and for making them highly/fastly available to agents they want to use this.
We have installed one Wave in Manila in application-accelerator mode and using PBR to redirect the desired traffic via Wave. As per our client Manila Wave will talk to PHX wave and PHX wave will get registered to Waas Manager in client network.
We have firewall between PHX wave & Manila wave, please let me know do we need to opened tcp/udp ports on FW for opening the communication between these two waves?
and what else i need to configure on Manila wave?
This is very urgent quick reply will be highly appreciated!!
    Thanks!!
    Bhisham

Thanks for the quick reply Kanwal!!
I checked with my team in PHX and we have Juniper FW in between these two Wave's, so what i understand from the links which you have shared.
In Manila Wave i need to configure that in Directed Mode and udp port 4050 needs to be opened bi-directionally on Juniper FW between IPs configured on wave devices.
In Manila we have 10.111.x.189 (Virtual-Blade IP) & 10.111.x.190 IPs & in PHX we 63.149.23.x & 63.149.23.x (VB) so from both IPs we required to open udp 4050 bi-directionally? Want to be sure before raising any request :-)
In PHX wave i am not sure whether we can configure that in directed mode and if it’s not then also it will work by opening port 4050 on FW Right?
In last our client was saying that Manila Wave will only be used as cache engine (VB is configured as content-engine) and it will download contents from PHX Wave (which is registered to CM at client side), what does it mean and do i need to do any special config on wave to achieve this?
I am very new to this device and lot of research on net confused me a lot, please don’t mind!!
Will wait for your reply then only i will raise request with FWteam.
    Thanks,
    Bhisham

  • IMac27' for PC Screen ( MiniDisplay Port - VGA ) issue

    Hi everyone,
I want to use mi 2009Late iMac27' as external display. I use a MiniDisplay Port to VGA adapter for conecting the iMac and the PC via VGAs
The problems appears when i connect them and nothing happends, only a "Blue Screen" ( like when you change the resolution ) and nothing more. CMD + F2 does nothing and i dont know what can i do for fix this...
    Anyone can help me?
Thanks and sorry about my poor english =(

    Hi BDAqua,
the PC graphic card has not MiniDisplay Port...
So if i want to use mi iMac27' as screen the pc has to have at least a MiniDisplay Port, no? That's the only way?
Can the graphic card use a adaptor for this task ( Like VGA - MiniDisplay Port adapter )? My graphic card has DVI and HDMI ports for more info.
Thanks for the help, you heal me a big headache

    Hi,
I'm attempting to install oracle 10.2.0 on Solaris 10.
When I create a database i get the error:
Failed to allocate port(s) in the specified range(s) for the following process(es): .....
So I look at the logs and there looks like to be some configuration issues but i'm not sure where to start.
I've changed the port from NULL to 1521 in listener.ora.
It worried me that it was set to null.
Ive tried running emca -config -all db ( not sure what central agent home should be set it as /app/oracle/product/10.2.0/Db_1 seemed to accept that)
This gives me the same above error.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Please note im both a novice solaris and oracle user

  • Is there a fix for a dead ethernet port besides a new logic board?

My ethernet port went dead on my IMac.  I unplugged the ethernet cable and plugged it into my laptop and it worked instantly.  I am still able to connect wirelessly.  I bought an apple USB to Ethernet converter and plugged it in.  It worked for about 3 days and then it went dead.  Once again I was able to unplug the ethernet cable, plug it into my laptop and instantly had a connection.  Is there a fix for a dead ethernet port besides a new logic board and if not how do I figure out which logic board I need?
    Thanks
    Step

This problem baffled me. I kept getting the "ethernet cable unplugged" error after testing my cables good. Was abut to write it off as port gone bad when I found this thread.
The YouTube video reference above fixed my problem. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1P6X87qArs)
Basically go to SETTINGS/NETWORK. Then highlight your ETHERNET port and click the ADVANCED button. From there click the HARDWARE tab.
    Set
    CONFIGURE to MANUALLY
SPEED to whatever your ethernet speed is, in my case 1000baseT
DUPLEX - FULL DUPLEX, FLOW CONTROL
    Leave MTU at Standard
    Hit OK.
Then don't forget to hit APPLY. I didn't do this the first couple of times assuming hitting OK applied these settings. You gotta hit APPLY.
In about two seconds, my Ethernet connected again.
I went back and reset it to AUTOMATIC just to test and after doing so got the cable unplugged error again. So I am leaving it on manual and it's working.

  • DFM alert for shutting down a port?

I am using LMS 3.2, and when are shutting down a port, I don't receive any alerts. Is there any alert for administratively shutting down a port of a device?

DFM criteria for a interface down is
ifOperStatus = down and ifAdminStatus = up.  If you down the interface then ifAdminStatus will be down and not up, so DFM does not treat this an alarmed event.

  • Best QOS Practice for a congested Uplink Port?

I have an MPLS uplink port to a carrier that carries both voice and data.
For example, Customer 3750 Switch 100MB Uplink--->100MB Uplink Carrier Router---Carrier Router 6MB MLPP Voice/Data MPLS Uplink with QOS configured for Voice subnet on carrier side too.
The port occasionally suffers from overutilizition and spikes to the full 6MB
I have a centralized CUCM that has phones that occasionally reset due to TCP 2000 timeouts (usually during the period of high utilization)
So that I can avoid most phone resets during high utilization I have prioritized all voice traffic (signalling and RTP streams) to EF
My question: What is best practice configuration for a congested uplink port? I'm going to assume the answer is it depends (the all great technical answer )
Here are my thoughts on how to configure the 3750 uplink port so far:
    apply mls qos trust dscp
    apply priority-queue out
(Here's where I'm looking for help)
apply some sort of policing or bandwidth statement on the interface to protect the voice traffic: What are the recommendations and what would those configurations look like?
I would apply these these configurations to the uplink ports at the edge site as well as the central site.
Any thoughts as to the best way to accomplish this?

You want to prioritize VoIP traffic at congestion points, which for you, looks to be whenever your LAN bandwidth hits your 6 Mbps WAN.
If the carrier takes your 100 Mbps, and doesn't just generally police all traffic to 6 Mbps, but instead has different priority queues for the 6 Mbps, all you should need to do, is insure you traffic is correctly processed by your WAN vendor.  This, though, might require marking your traffic for the WAN provider.
If you carrier first polices all your traffic at 6 Mbps (many do), then you need to shape the traffic (with you own prioritization) before the provider "sees" it.  If you need to "shape" on the 3750, there's a command to limit a port's bandwidth utilization, as a percentage.  However it's not exact, so you may need to "shape" slower than 6 Mbps to insure 6 Mbps won't be exceeded.  (BTW, for 6 Mbps, if you need to do QoS, you would be better off with an ISR.)
You also mention 6 MLPPP, but it's unlclear what your device is for that.
How to configure 3750 QoS is involved.  Basically when you enable QoS, each port has four dedicated egress queues.  By default, different traffic markings go into one of the four queues, each queue has same share of the bandwidth, and almost same share of the buffers.  The PQ command you noted, enables the first queue to always transmit its packets first.  Normally, you'll want to do that for VoIP bearer packets, which you've (insured are) directed to that queue.  You also want to insure that VoIP signally packets are not likley to be dropped and, more or less, are forwarded quickly.
Cisco has multiple papers on QoS configurations, including papers for 3750s, so instead of my trying to present that, the above is intended as an overview.  Feel free to post additional questions, the more specific, the more likely you'll get an answer.

  • New command for radius-server source-ports

I am trying to find the new command fro radius-server source-ports 1645-1646 since it appears to be depricated.  We use tacacs so we do not have the radius server specified but we do need to put in the ports.  Can someone please tell me the new command for radius-server source-ports?
    Thanks

Both of the links that Peter posted are interesting and helpful. I would like to take a slightly different approach in answering your question.
In every version of IOS there are certain commands that get inserted into running-config when a particular feature is activated. It looks like in your version the radius-server source-ports is one of those commands. I do not think it is anything that you should be concerned about.
And I do not believe that having the radius-server source-ports command would prevent TACACS from working. I believe that there is likely to be some fault in your configuration. If you would post the aaa parts of the config then maybe we could see what the problem is.
In my experience configuring aaa some of the common problems include not correctly identifying the TACACS server, not having exactly the same key configured on the Cisco device and the TACACS server, not having connectivity to the TACACS server (can the Cisco device ping the server, and can the server ping the device), or errors in the authentication or authorization prameters specified.
Post some information and we will see what we can do.

  • Is anyone having a problem connecting 400 firewire thru an adapter for the 800 firewire port on a Macbook Pro 2011? It does a kernel panic every time I connect it. Is there a "proper way" to connect it?

Is anyone having a problem connecting 400 firewire thru an adapter for the 800 firewire port on a Macbook Pro 2011? It does a kernel panic every time I connect it. Is there a "proper way" to connect it? Just in case it makes a difference I am trying to hook up an Avid Mbox Pro for Pro tools.

What is the part number and model of Firewire adapter?
I have used them in the past without any problems whatsoever.

  • Proxy settings for dynamic ftp send port

Does anyone have an idea how to configure the proxy settings when using a dynamic send port to connect to an ftp server?
When using the FTP send port there is the property 'Server' to specify the proxy settings, but how would this be done with a dynamic send port?
I can't find anything about this. And there doesn't seem to be a property
FTP.Server according to intellisence in my orchestration.
    Kind regards,
    Mitch Vanhelden
    Blog: http://mitchvanhelden.blogspot.com

It seems like most or all of the FTP properties are exposed in the Global Property Schemas assembly.  The FTP properties are under the "FTP" namespace (see FTP property schema below).
One thing you might try is to get it working (simple messaging) using a static FTP send port.  Once it is working, turn on send port tracking of message properties (before and after port processing).  Inspect the tracked message for the FTP
related properties set during static transmission and try setting these within your orchestration.
