Port Access Covers for MacPro

Hi,
I just wondered if anybody knows where to order (in the UK) port access covers for the Mac Pro (early 2009). I just need to cover a port, and cannot find anywhere on the internet that sells them.
Any help would be very gratefully received.
Many thanks,
Adrian

Hi Dave,
Is my mind playing tricks, or is that a new bar I see? Regardless, my heartiest congratulations!
Yes, what I was trying to get across to the poster is that while an Apple site may not list them, they could have them anyway. And, two, calling an Apple Tech might get some through them. They will send out small items from time to time.
Lastly, I know for myself I have a dozen or so for different models, including this one, hanging around somewhere. A walk-in Apple Store must have many more than that, just taking up space.
And truly, the last, last, temporary but effective solution one can do, as I had to awhile ago when my room looked like a meteor hit,... Duct tape. Even has the added benefit of being a dust magnet, but it's not cool looking, so temporary only.

  • Where can I get Port Access Covers

I purchased a MacPro with 4 video cards from the Apple Store, of course they did not keep with my purchase the Port Access Covers. Does anyone have any idea how to get 3 of these. I have called everyone on Apples so called Tech support, Apple Stores etc. Seems to me they should have shipped them with my Mac Pro since I paid for them.

    Hi Alan,
if you send me 1 of the 8 Cinema-Displays you presumably bought with your 4 graphic cards Mac Pro goodness, I'll send you 1 of my port access covers
But joking aside, these parts should actually come in a standard size, so if you have some old computer-wreck somewhere that still has the covers, you should be able to use it in your Mac Pro.
Other than that you can buy them pretty inexpensive, for example here or here.
    Hope that helps, Lars

but how i can i acquire image with IP camera and fpga ???
The Ethernet hardware interface in the cRIO is not directly connected to the FPGA backplane in a way that you could directly access it. Even if you could it would be a pretty bad idea to try to do. A fully operational TCP/IP network stack implementation in the FPGA would not leave much resources for anything else even on the biggest FPGAs available. That doesn't include support for the typical image compression algorithmes which are even more complicated to implement on FPGA. Even if you would go to highly optimized VHDL code directly it would be a pretty difficult thing to do!
In fact implemenintg the MAC and PHY of an ethernet interface on the FPGA is totally trivial in comparison. The IP level could also be implemented fairly easily in the FPGA but anything above that is going to give you bad headaches and still will be very limited in number of connections and packet sizes it can support.

  • EA2700 port forwarding issues for DVR access

So start this off I searched these forums for answers and new here but not to the router world, I have been having issues lately I set up a DVR and need to view remotely, ports are 7000 and 8080, I setup DVR on a static IP and it can access the internet and I can ping the DVR internally than I go into router and port forward those ports on DVR's IP address disabled upnp I setup dhcp reservation on DVR's IP but when I check can you see me.org it shows those ports are closed for my external than I check port 80 and shows closed looks like all my ports are close is there some firewall in this router that would do this please help

If the ISP modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: Link>http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm and http://cognitiveanomalies.com/cisco-nat-how-nat-works/. If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.
Glad you got it working. Enjoy.

  • Can I use the Ethernet Port for a computer when it is also used as a wireless network with an Airport Extreme as the access point for the wireless network

Can I use the Ethernet Port  of the A1264 Airport Express to connect to the Ethernet port of a computer that does not have wireless capability when the Airport Express is also used on a wireless network with an Airport Extreme 5th generation as the access point for the network?
    I have AE 5th gen

Various computers, printers and hubs for the network
    Is this possible to do?

Bob, Thanks for the info. I have read different articles that said yes, but I wanted to make sure before I commit to buy. I have an older A1084 which I could not use the Ethernet port. I know at one point I was able to when I was on 10.4. Now that I am on an Intel processor and 10.8 I am going to have to upgrade some of my Apple wireless hardware.

Following is the output on the Console when running the command. It asks for a username and password for the JKS store (If i provide the wrong password, it gives a different error, which shows that it is able to authenticate aganst the Keystore). After i put in the password, it throws the error as shown below "java.security.AccessControlException: Unsufficient rights to perform the operation"

Did you create the weblogic domain with the Oracle Webcenter Spaces option selected? This should install the relevant libraries into the domain that you will need to deploy your application. My experience is based off WC 11.1.1.0. If you haven't, you can extend your domain by re-running the Domain Config Wizard again (WLS_HOME/common/bin/config.sh)

  • Low Level Serial Port Access

This question has gone unanswered several times on this forum in the past but I thought I would try it once more.
Is there any Java API that is in, or will work with J2ME to allow direct read and write to the serial port similar to the functionality that javax.comm provides for j2se.
This would be useful for a project where a palmos device is used to communicate with equipment used to monitor industrial processes.

Some MIDP 1.0 devices support access to the Serial
    Port.
I have done it with Motorola i85, i50 (iDen) and
    Motorola T720i.
I think 95cl also supports it. I'm ALSO having problems with serial port access on
my T-Mobile Moto T720i phone. I've had MUCH success
with the Nextel i85, i50, i95cl, etc phones, but the
same code isn't running on the T720i.
What do I need to do differently???
    Thanks,
    -Tim

  • LDAP access levels for wireless users

How is it possible if I want my Directory Server 5.2 to authenticate only few number of users to have wireless and dial-up access. LDAP should not permit the other users when they try to login by wireless or dial-up. But everyone should be authenticated when they try to login through a direct ethernet connection. Currently all my users are under ou=people.

    Hi,
Directly-connected APs are supported in 7.4 code, if you are not on that code then
The PoE Ports are not for the APs
Ports 3 and 4 are PoE only ports; do not connect access point devices to these ports. The ports can be used for infra-switch connection using multiple an AP-Manager or data interface
Connect port 1 to a trunk port on the switch.
configure the native vlan ON THE TRUNKPORT only eg vlan 10
Let's assume your wireless is on vlan 10 and your WLC2504 is 10.10.10.20 /24 gateway 10.10.10.1
Enable and Configure DHCP scope for vlan 10
The APs are then connected to a vlan 10 access port on the switch
    Configure the SSID
    DHCP server tips
    - enable bridging mode if using the controller as the DHCP server, otherwise disable it.
    - if using other DHCP server and the DHCP server is in the same vlan as the controller, nothing further is needed.
    - if DHCP server is on another vlan, you will need to configure option 43 (vendor specific into)
Check with these configuration it will hopefully fix your issue.

  • Port Access Mapping Table

    PORT_ACCESS
    TCP|*|*|192.168.1.121|* \
    $C$[IMTA_LIB:conn_throttle.so,throttle,$1,1]\
    $N421$ Too$ Many$ Connection$E
Anyone has any idea what does these lines do? Especially, I would like to know whether $1 refers to the 1st "*" or the 2nd "*" ??

I suggest having a look at the improved documentation for 6.1:
    http://docs.sun.com/source/817-6266/filter.html
A particular IP address can be limited to how often it connects to the MTA by using the shared library, conn_throttle.so in the Port Access mapping table. Limiting connections by particular IP addresses may be useful for preventing excessive connections used in denial-of-service attacks.
conn_throttle.so is a shared library used in a PORT_ACCESS mapping table to limit MTA connections made too frequently from particular IP addresses. All configuration options are specified as parameters to the connection throttle shared library as follows:
    $[msg_svr_base/lib/conn_throttle.so,throttle,IP-address,max-rate]
IP-address is the dotted-decimal address of the remote system. max-rate is the connections per minute that shall be the enforced maximum rate for this IP-address.
The routine name throttle_p may be used instead of throttle for a penalizing version of the routine. throttle_p will deny connections in the future if theyve connected too many times in the past. If the maximum rate is 100, and 250 connections have been attempted in the past minute, not only will the remote site be blocked after the first 100 connections in that minute, but theyll also be blocked during the second minute. In other words, after each minute, max-rate is deducted from the total number of connections attempted and the remote system is blocked as long as the total number of connections is greater than the maximum rate.
If the IP-address specified has not exceeded the maximum connections per minute rate, the shared library callout will fail.
If the rate has been exceeded, the callout will succeed, but will return nothing. This is done in a $C/$E combination as in the example:
    PORT_ACCESS
    TCP|*|25|*|* \
    $C$[msg_svr_base/lib/conn_throttle.so,throttle,$1,10] \
    $N421$ Connection$ not$ accepted$ at$ this$ time$E
    Where,
$C continues the mapping process starting with the next table entry; uses the output string of this entry as the new input string for the mapping process.
$[msg_svr_base/lib/conn_throttle.so,throttle,$1,10] is the library call with throttle as the library routine, $1 as the server IP Address, and 10 the connections per minute threshold.
$N421$ Connection$ not$ accepted$ at$ this$ time rejects access and returns the 421 SMTP code (transient negative completion) along with the message Connection not accepted at this time.
$E ends the mapping process now. It uses the output string from this entry as the final result of the mapping process.

  • Ricoh Aficio MP C4501 with access codes for color printing

    Hi,
I read the discuss called "Ricoh 3245C with access codes for color printing", and I have a similar problem with a Ricoh MPC4501 printer. The printer is connected to many Windows PCs and my brand new iMac. It requires just User Codes authenication. PostScript is not installed on the printer (could this be the problem?). I've tried all the suggestions brought up in the mentioned discussion but I still can't print. It seems like the printer is not connected to the Mac. Here are the answers to the questions asked in the previous discussion:
    Is PostScript module installed?
No, I guess. PS is not one of the languages included on the Configuration Page.
What languages does your printer understand?
    RPCS [3.10.14], PCL 5c [1.02] and PCL XL [1.02]
    What drivers are you using?
I tried the one from the Ricoh site for OS10.8 (http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_e/ra/model/mpc41/mpc41en.htm) as well as the driver (three downloads) from Linux (http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/pxlmon o). Neither worked. It might be helpful to mention that the Linux driver enabled me to print to a Ricoh Aficio MP 4001 that doesn't require authentication.
How are you entering your User Code?
Depending on the application. For Adobe apps, which are my main concern, I would have to click on the Printer button in the Print dialog to open the system Printer dialog, then enter the user code there under Job Log. I had to use the script provided in the previous discussion (http://webpages.charter.net/mbroughtn/beta/RicohUserCodes.zip) to add my User Code.
How are you connecting to the printer -- what protocol?
I'm not sure. I didn't find any of the protocols cited in the previous discussion on the Configuaration Page. If it helps, I know that the printer has an IP address on the network. And as I mentioned, it's mainly connected to many Windows PCs.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Can't help with user codes, but I suggest you try IP HP jetdirect first whenever you add an enterprise net printer. You could always look on a windows computer for printer port configjration. There, you will find jetdirect called raw port 9100 protocol.

  • Port Access mode allow tagged frames ?

    Hello,
From my understanding Cisco Catalyst switch port access mode only allow untagged frames to be received and proceeded. Tagged frames received on access mode port should be discarded.
But I have found in BCMSN course Student Guide following phrase
If a non-802.1Q-enabled device or an access port receives an 802.1Q frame, the tag data is
ignored, and the packet is switched at Layer 2 as a standard Ethernet frame.
Is in this case term access related to non Cisco equipment ? Or where are some Cisco Catalysts HW/SW combinations in which access mode port accept also tagged frames ?
    With Best Regards
    Tomas

    Hello Tomas,
802.1Q tagged frames with a vlan-id = access vlan of the port are accepted on Cisco Catalysts.
for Sure it was in 2004-2005 when I did L2 security tests and read about the following:
This is the basis for one of the L2 security attack that is called vlan hopping:
if you send a frame with two 802.1Q tags and:
    a) the external tag vlan-id = port access vlan
    b) the same vlan is used as native vlan in a inter-switch trunk
the attacker can send a frame from vlan X to vlan y bypassing L3 security and routing devices.
the recommendation is to use as native vlan a dedicated vlan for all trunks that is never used on access ports.
    Hope to help
    Giuseppe

  • HT201272 I get this message when I try to download purchased music, never seen it before, never had a problem before. you do not have enough access privelages for this operation

I get this message when I try to download purchased music, never seen it before, never had a problem before.
"you do not have enough access privelages for this operation"
This computer is authorized, auoto download is enabled and I can download on my ipad without a problem.
Any ideas what might be going on?

    Hi jimbowby,
If you are getting this error message just when attempting to download previously purchased music (new purchases work fine), and it's only occuring on the computer (redownloads on the iPad work fine), it may be a permissions issue. It may be worth taking a look at the Resolution section of the following article, which covers other issues that can throw that same error message: Trouble adding music to iTunes library or importing audio CD Hope that helps.
    Cheers,
