Port Flapping Alerts from PI2.1

Hi All. We have a significant number of a particular type of device on our network which during a reboot cycle causes the port to drop 3 times in the process. Since migrating to PI 2.1 we now receive 'critical' alarm e-mails for port flapping every time this happens. Is there a way to change the threshold of what triggers a flapping alarm? Failing that, I can't find a relevant condition under Severity Configuration in order to make them non-critical either.
All help appreciated!

Then DFM will be polling these devices.  How are you testing the fault conditions?  That is, for one device which should be showing an alert in DFM, what is wrong with it EXACTLY?  If you have brought an interface down on the device, make sure that interface is down long enough for DFM to see it down.  For example, the default polling interval in DFM is four minutes.  If you bring down a managed interface, make sure it is down for at least four minutes for DFM to detect the fault.
If you're sure that DFM should be seeing these faults and it is not, start a sniffer trace filtering on udp/161 and ICMP traffic to this one device.  Let that trace run for at least eight minutes, then stop it.  If you post the trace, I can look at it to see if there are any obvious problems.  Additionally, post the output of the pdshow command.

  • Fwding alerts from CCMS to ALM

    Hi all,
I am working on fwding alerts from CCMS to ALM.
We have solman in place fully configured. I have followed guides from service.sap.com/alert page.I can see alerts generated from the alert test report RSALERTTEST in the mail box(say Outlook) but not in the alert inbox of RWB
Can any one please help me on this.
    reg

Did you configure ALM to run on your XI machine or on SolMan?
If it runs on Sol Man you won't be able to see them on XI RWB.
To find your alerts lokk at:
    http://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/alrtinbox
where host:port is the host where ALM runs. Note that the BSP service must be active in the trx. sicf.

Apple TV: "Check that any firewall software running on this computer has been set to allow communication on port 3689" alert in Windows

After a few hours the same issue started again. (Port 3689 error) I checked my router settings and it shows ATV asd connected to my netrwork. ATV also shows in iTunes devices. It asll works till I try to sync. Then the error pops up
I tired restoring ATV to factory settings. Even backed iTunes up to version 8 and every combonation therein. I started an older Gateway running Vista 64bit and it syncs fine with ATV although it's slow and I have to transfer movies  from my Win 7 to tyhe Vista machiner.
I cannot find any reason for this issue. Can anybody solve this before it dribves me crazy? (Crazier)

  • Network Port Flap

We are having an issue of network interface flaps which is causing a port flap in our network. Our goal is to have a tcl script that will be able to run whenever we have 10 flaps within 10 secs, the script should be able to shutdown the port that is flapping and then re-enable it after the flap stops . below is a tcl script we have so far and will need advice or if anyone has a sample tcl script that can help us achieve this task
    a1#ifchange
    Syntax: tclsh ifchange.tcl interface flap
    a1#ifchange loop0 off
Interface loop0 changed state to off
    a1#
%LINK-5-CHANGED: Interface Loopback0, changed state to administratively down
%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Loopback0, changed state to down
    a1#ifchange loop0 on
Interface loop0 changed state to on
    a1#
%LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Loopback0, changed state to up
%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Loopback0, changed state to up
    a1#ifchange loop0 flap
    changing state of loop0
    shut down interface loop0
    ... waiting ...
%LINK-5-CHANGED: Interface Loopback0, changed state to administratively down
%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Loopback0, changed state to down
    changing state of loop0
    enable interface loop0
    a1#
%LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface Loopback0, changed state to up
%LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Loopback0, changed

That is one of the challenges that I am facing . Since we cannot tell when the network flaping has stop if the port is shutdown. I was thinking of  using a delay mechanism of say 2 mins after which the port should be enabled. We can adjust the delay time as we start testing the script to something more accurate according to the network test baseline that we will get from the test results

  • How to port database changes from development to a production environment

How do I port database changes from the development to the production environment?
I am using v8 and have always had to redo everything using the schema manager all over in the production environment. Is there an easy way to generate a script, for example to dump the database changes on the development machine to be executed later on the production machine?

This should already be a clearly defined change control process. Once a procedure, function, package, trigger, or whatever completes the testing rounds, it should be promoted to production.
Forgive me if it seems I'm trivializing, but I don't see the problem, just copy the object(s) from your software library (or development) into production using whatever tool works best or has been chosen. If you are doing data copies then you have various options again including good old export/import.

  • How do I port a number from Sprint?

I just signed up for Verizon yesterday with an individual line, and need to port my number from Sprint (also an individual line). What number do I need to call?

    Good morning tommaxwell,
Welcome to our happy wireless family! We LOVE welcoming new members to Verizon! Since a cell phone is one of few things that we keep within reach at all times, I can certainly understand the benefits of keeping your current number! Some of these benefits are:
    • No new number to remember
    • No need to contacts friends, family member, and associates for a contact update.
    • No unnecessary expense of printing new business cards and other stationeries.
May I ask have you started the port process yet? If not then it will be my pleasure to assist! First, I would like to provide a link to some frequently asked questions, http://bit.ly/qDhvBY. Once you are ready to start the process then you can send me a direct message with your full name, contact number, and a brief summary of the task at hand. I took the liberty of following you and it is pending your approval. I look forward to hearing from you my friend!
    Thank you…

  • On iOS 7, my wife receives alerts from my calendar even though she chose not to see my calendars on her iPhone (We have the same iCloud account). How can I turn off my alerts on her iPhone 5 but nor her alerts ?

My wife decided to use her calendar on her iPhone 5 via our iCloud account so that it will be synchronized with her iPad 3.
I have been using it for many years for leisure activities and for my work.
Althought she chose, in her calendar settings, to only see her calendar and not my calendars (I have many for leisure activities, for one of my job, for my other job etc...), she still gets alerts from my calendar events even thought she do not see the events on her iPhone nor on her iPad.
Has anyone a solution for this ?
I read many things on internet about this but found no solutions yet.

Well, let take the personal service point of view : let say, I had two calendars on my iCloud account : one for work, one for my leisure activities.
On my MacBook Pro that I use at home as well as at my office, I would want the two calendars to show and since I am alone in my office, I would want the alerts for both my work and my leisure activities to show (and make a sound at the same time).
But on my iPad that I only use at home, I would only want my leisure activities alerts to show (and make a sound) and on my iPhone that I only use for work, I would only want my work alerts to show (and make a sound).
That is a personal service that simply does not work.
Why would Apple give us the opportunity to hide some calendars on certain devices but not allow us, on these same devices, to switch off the alerts linked to these calendars that we have chosen to hide ? Why having alerts of calendars that do not even show on these devices ?
And I am an Apple fan since 1984, since the very first Mac. I still do believe Macs and Apple devices and/or software (iOS, OS X and others...) are much better and much more efficient than " Microsoft, Windows, Google and other Android devices and software.
But that does not mean everything's perfect (and I find that quite normal).
Nevertheless, in this case, letting alerts make a sound on a device where a specific calendar is not shown, that does not make any sense : when uncheking those calendars, the alerts linked to those calendars should be automatically switch off (but alerts should be able to work on the calendars that are shown.)

  • I have moved from a G5 Powermac to an Intel Mac Pro and am porting over Items from a Backup HDD. How can I access and use drawings and documents created on the PC computer on the Intel computer ?

I have moved from a G5 Powermac to an Intel Mac Pro and selectively porting over items from a backup hard drive.
How can I access and use documents and drawings created on the PC based computer ?

Clarisworks, you need Appleworks, which will only work with Mac OS X10.6.8 or earlier.  See this tip if you must go newer.  Mac Pros with newer hardware configuration than July 20, 2011 can't use Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier without this tip and then it would be Mac OS X Server.  I'm not sure if the new black Mac Pro supports that configuration or not.
iPhoto, there is an iPhoto for all versions of Mac OS X.
iTunes, there is an iTunes for all versions of Mac OS X.  Note with iTunes versions 11 and later, which are needed for syncing with iOS 7 or or later, you will lose coverflow, if you liked that feature.  Sadly you can't run an older version of iTunes from within Mac OS X 10.9 or later.
Sketchup: http://help.sketchup.com/en/article/60107 shows the versions that will work with intermediate Mac OS X versions, and this shows the latest version: http://help.sketchup.com/en/article/36208 be sure to click on the operating system you choose to use.
GIF - Viewing GIFs Apple's Preview can do that.  Editing them, I like http://www.lemkesoft.com/ Graphicconverter.
DMG is able to be opened by all versions of Mac OS X.  This are just "disk images" which store programs on a virtual disk that will open when double clicked.    Frequently you'll find the installer of the said program inside.  To find out if the program itself is compatible with 10.7 through 10.9, see http://www.roaringapps.com/
    Otherwise see the resources on:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2455

  • Alerts from ECC

Chek these... i have a doubt which is bold below.....
    Alert Rules
Message-based alerting is used to notify about errors that occur during message processing. It is based on the alert framework, among other things, so you can leverage the functions it provides, such as sending the alert by e-mail, fax, or SMS.
By defining rules within the RWB, you can filter the monitored messages according to error code, error category, and message header attributes for sender and receiver. For instance, if a customer only wants to be informed immediately when his core business scenarios fail, the message-based alerting can be restricted to the respective interfaces only.
    -     Use RWB to define Alert Rules within PI
    -     Use ABAP for defining rules within ECC and generate an alert from ECC to PI by passing the right variables.
    My question is
how do to this.....how to define rules within ECC and generate  an alert from ECC to PI by passing the right variables...?
any idea guys....i am going with ALRTCATDEF...

What do you mean by alert?? is it some mail that you want to send from OAF page??
sample code to send mail from OAF:

    * This program sends e-mail using a mailto: URL
    public class SendMail {
    public static void main(String[] args) {

System.out.flush(); // Tell them right now
c.connect(); // Connect to mail host
PrintWriter out = // Get output stream to mail host
