Port for recieving sms

I'm working on a sms application and was wondering if there is a port which is available (not used by phone software or app) on mobile phones of all brands?

Hi
If you want to send to the standard port then leave the port number out.

    Hello..
This might point to an unhanded exception. There should be a backend dump (ST22) available and that would help in more analysis. You might need a ABAPer to look into the dump. You may paste the dump here for more analysis.

    Hello Prashant
We're using/trialling Orange API. Seems to be a low cost way of sending and potentially receiving SMS from your PAEX App
We only use it to send SMS messages out but the APIs exist to recieve SMS messages also.
In a nutshell, the SMS API enables you to:
    - send text messages
    - receive text messages through your e-mail and URL

  • Re: Sending SMS and Recieving SMS from chat server

Hi all, I would like to know how can i send sms from J2ME wireless toolkit to a macromedia flash socket server (electroserver) and recieved a feedback from the server that the message is successfully recieved.
as example of what i want was:-
    1. user send a sms using j2me wireless toolkit to chat in the flash client chat (IRC)
    2. if is a new user, user will need to register their nickname on the server and the server will acknowledge them wether their nickname is already in used or not. so the server will reply the SMS.
Is there any way to do it using J2ME wireless Toolkit or the server may not support such function. please help me and give some advice on how to make this work. Help from all is much appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Inconsistent prob when adding listeners to serial ports for sending AT cmds

I have an app that sends and receives SMSs from two different cell phone carriers (lets say verizon and sprint by example).
For that matter i have two cell phones, exactly the same model, one from each carrier, connected to the PC serial ports, COM, COM6 and COM7 being aware that they are available.
-The application communicats with the phones through the a serial communication API and sending AT commands.
-The application can send messages correctly from both phones within the same transaction, this is, i click in send message and the message is sent from both phones.
The problem is when receiving, getting the SMS received by the phones:
-When i have ONE phone connected to the PC it work properly for both phones.
-When i have BOTH phones connected, only Carrier1 phone receives properly.
When checking, i just find out that the problem rises when i try to add the listeners (see code comments below).
When both phones connected there seems to be a problem that i cant figure out, and may be its a conceptual misunderstanding from me.
I attach the code if you can help me,

Thinking of a java application as its what I am most
comfortable with, but also thinking of having an
apache server, and using jsp pages or servlets...
because I hate formatting things in a java frame..
have never quite mastered that! Any thoughts on what
I should use?I'd prefer a Swing GUI for a maximum of controls. If you have any problems regarding layout, you can post concrete questions here (or even better: the Swing forum).
And my main stumbling block would be how do I send
signals to the green light from the computer? How do
I get signals from the light beams to the computer?
How do I use a serial port (for eg) from a java app. There's an additional library for serial I/O, it's named javax.comm ... should be downloadable somewhere on the java.sun.com site.

  • API's for sending SMS messages

Where can I find documentation on how to send/receive SMS messages via Oracle WE? Are there any API's available? I am currently on v1.0.2.2.

    Hi Friend,
It is a great difficult to find API for sending SMS messages....but i succeeded....for sending SMS messages there is a Class Calles SmsSender and use
sendSms(String mobileno, String message).....it will send message to the given mobile no...before i hope u have configured SMS Properties in Notification.properties file..
and Coming to receive SMS...there is one more Class SmsServer which listens to all the messages coming on the configured port..now you need to customize this class...
    All the best....
    Cheers

How can I send & recieve SMS via Mac ?
Handoff is already working fine between my iPhone 5 & Mac, I want to know how I can send & recieve SMS using my MAC

    Thank you so much
    I have another problem please:
Handoff is working perfectly between my iPhone 5 & my Macbook pro, I also can receive calls on my mac and iPhone 5 at the same time, but when I try to make calls from my laptop it says that message:
I am already using the same account for both of them

  • Unable recieve sms messages

I've got a 6230 which has always worked fine until last week it stopped recieving sms messages.
I havn't changed any settings on it - the only thing i can think of thats different is that i swapped batteries with a friends phone, but the new battery i have in it is still the standard BL-5C that comes with the model and the phone was recieving messages for at least a day after i changed the battery so i don't know if this is the cause of the problem..
    Any ideas??

    Hi there
The same thing happened to me on my brand new N95. I went through all possible tests with my carrier and they determined there was nothing wrong on their end. Was so weird as, like you, I could do everything except receive sms. I ended up taking the 10 day old phone back into the shop and they put the sim card in another handset and it didn't receive sms in that handset either, and the shops sim card did receive sms in my handset.
So I was given a new sim card and problem was fixed. 2 days worth of received sms lost in the ether though No explanation as to why this happened. The sim card was also only 10 days old.
So I would suggest trying your sim card in another handset and seeing if u still have the same probs.
    good luck!

  • Cannot recieve sms, or log sent sms and calls

    Pearl 8130
This issue has come and gone a few times while I've had the phone. As of yesterday my phone stopped recieving sms messages. I'm able to send messages however they are only viewable on the sms list for a few seconds then it dissapears. I can send and recieve calls but there is no logging of these at all. Email seems to be unaffected. I've read that this is a problem related to my memory, so I've deleted almost all of my pictures; recordings and videos are gone.
    Help me sms again!

Look in Options >Status and post the number next to "File Free."
    1. Please thank those who help you by clicking the "Like" button at the bottom of the post that helped you.
    2. If your issue has been solved, please resolve it by marking the post "Solution?" which solved it for you!

  • Using Serial Port for Non-Serial Data Acquisiton

I searched the forums and couldn't find anything related to this topic.
I saw that it was possible to use the parallel port for simple digital I/O and I was hoping the serial port can be configured the same. It seems all the VISA VI's only want to use the serial port to recieve ASCII chars at a given baud rate, but is it possible to simply poll the status of the serial line at my own speed to see if it is high or low, kind of like a single pin DAQ?
It seems it would be possible as long as the serial data is read and controlled by labview and not by Windows. Let me know if you have any ideas how to approach this problem, or any feedback as to why it is not possible.
    Thanks everyone!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Select Property>Serial Settings>Modem Line Settings. For example, the CTS State is an input to the pc.
Using these lines is a very poor replacement for a scope or DAQ board. The only things you can get back is Asserted, Unasserted, or Unknown. The range of acceptable signals is quite large. Anything between +3 and -3 is an unknown state. Your other signals are +/3 to 15 volts. what kind of signals do you actually want to capture?
edit: There is no such thing as VISA Status so I have no idea what you are actually using.

    Hi,
Please can anyone tell me how to create an inbox for the WMADemo that is used for sending and recieving sms. PLEASE HELP!!!

For this you will need persistant storage. The only persistant storage available on J2ME devices are RecordStores. You'll probably need to use that.
Everytime a message comes it, store it in the RMS, and only delete it if the user requests that op.
