Port forwarding error in WRT54GL setup

ok so Im not understanding this. opened some ports in the port forward menu of my router and everything works fine. then all of a sudden my game, or whatever im using (bittorrent), wont work anymore, like the port isnt open. i go to the port forward setup in my router settings and some of the boxes will be yellow. I cant get rid of the yellow boxes, nor do i know what it means. the only way ive found that works to get rid of them is to format my pc. i really, really do not want to format it again, i just did it like 10 hours ago >. anyone know what these yellow boxes mean and how to fix them. any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

What is the model # of your router and have you tried it on another computer to check if you'll have same yellow box on the port forwarding tab???

    Hi,
How to check 'Logical system ' in Place or not ?
Path: Go to transaction SALE -> Sending and Receiving Systems -> Logical Systems -> Define Logical System
I always generate the partner profile manually (via WE20) and always work fine. Sometimes I face an issue when try to generate froom BD64 and the error does not make sense (though happened). Give it try ...

  • HH3 Type B port forwarding not working.

    Hi there.
I have searched absolutely everywhere for a solution to my problem before posting here. Basically port forwarding isn't working at all on my HH3 Type B router.
I've read all about the problems people have had with the Type A's but as far as I see nobody seems to have a problem with the Type B in regards to port forwarding or loopback.
I've set up port fowarding on many different routers with many different ISP's so I don't think it's something I'm doing, or rather, not doing but you never know.
These are the steps I take when setting up port forwarding:
Firstly setting up my static IP (obviously only needed to be done once) which I've chosen one outside of the routers DHCP range as I've always done in the past. Then I open the router screen, go to Settings / Advanced Settings / Port Forwarding / Supported Applications and click "Add new game or application".
I then enter a name, change "Copy existing game or application" to "No", and then change the "Protocol" to UDP or TCP as needed (also have tried using "Any" too with no luck). Next add a "Port Range" for example 12345 - 12345 then add "Translate To" 12345 - 12345 (port ranges obtained from portforward.com per application) then click "Add" and repeat for additional ports as needed.
Once that is all done, click "Apply" then go to Port Forwarding / Configuration or go to Home Network, select the applicable device and choose the newly added application from the "Port Forwarding" drop down list (and choose applicable device if doing it from Port Forwarding / Configuration). Click "Add" once application is selected.
Add additional applications where needed then finally click "Apply" to store the forwarded ports.
Close router page and port forwarding should be fully setup and working.
That's basically how I would do it anyway, but I also checked on portforward.com and it says pretty much the same and on these forums as well as a few other sites and I see nothing different but port forwarding still isn't working.
In my router "Event Log" it does show "The Port Forwarding entry of [xxx.xxx.x.xx] has been added or modified.".
My Firmware version is V100R001C01B036SP03_L_B. Last updated 19/05/13.
I have no firewall on my pc and the one enabled on the router is set to default but have also tried disabling it. Have tried enabling DMZ as suggested in various places with no luck and have tried changing UPnP settings again with no luck.
So if anybody has any suggestions I am all ears because this is bugging me so much as there are a few applications and games that require port forwarding and are pretty useless without it really.
    Thank you.

If you follow the instructions on this page, it should work. Please see note about CG-NAT.

  • Hr200 port forwarding problem

I have a problem - when i follow all the 'correct' procedures for setting up port forwarding on this router when i chose to save the settings the port numbers change - to irrelevant things
    whatever port i use
    often displays start 0
    and end 4294967295
also seen it refresh the page on save with 256 start and 255 end, and start 1 end 0.... which are also just nonsense
i really dont understand what i have done wrong or if there is something wrong with my router (it has the latest firmware version as it is quite new) - i have tried with static i.p inside 192.168.1.100 - 149 and also outside that range with the same results???
has anyone come accross this problem?

Hi… Here the screenshot for the Port Range Forwarding for you router. Login to this router with its IP address (default IP 192.168.1.1) in IE and setup the port forwarding. On the setup page, click on gaming and administration under which you will find port range forwarding..... Also make sure that port range should not be in reverse order like 1 to 0 ... it should be like 0-1 ... You need to assign a static IP address on the computer for which you want to forward the ports. You cannot forward the same port for more than one computer. In that case you can use port triggering. Port Forwarding is used when you host any service from that computer. Port Triggering is used when you access any service on the computers behind the router.

  • Can anyone tell me how to port forward and setup an XBOX 360 using my Time Capsule??

    Xbox 360
When playing the game online, the minimum speed of your network should be 128kbps. The ideal network speed for playing the game online is 768kbps. If you are having a problems with lag check the following:
    Network Troubleshooting:
Disable any firewall or security features on your router.
Set port forwarding on your router to the IP address of your Xbox 360. This game uses port 3074 (UDP/TCP). Additionally Xbox LIVE requires ports 80, 53 TCP and 88, 53 UDP.
Place your Xbox 360 into the DMZ of your router.
Disconnect your router and try the game. If it works regularly at this point something about your router may not be completely compatible with the specific needs of this game. Check with your router manufacturer and Microsoft's Xbox Live Connection Issues page for additional steps that may need to be done to resolve the issue you are having. You can also verify that you have an Xbox Live compatible router.
If you are having issues connecting while multiple Xbox 360 consoles are connected on the same network, try forwarding port 3074 (UDP/TCP) for one Xbox 360 and setting the other as DMZ. There is a chance that this may not resolve you issue,  if it doesn’t then you may want to consider getting an additional public IP address by contacting your Internet Service Provider and assigning it to one of these two consoles.
NOTE: If setting port forwarding or DMZ helps your connection issue, you may want to assign your Xbox 360 a static IP address within your home network. This can help to ensure that the configurations you made do not need to be done again. You can visit PortForward's Static IP Guide for a detailed guide on how to do this.
NOTE: Many broadband internet modems are coming with routing capabilities built in. Please contact your internet service provider to determine if your internet modem has an integrated router. If it does, they should be able to assist you with the steps above for setting up your router.
Once you have verified that your network setup is not the cause of the issue, try the following:
Try connecting to a different server. Some servers may have other players connected to them that you do not have an optimal connection with. In most games this is accomplished by backing out to the main menu and then selecting multiplayer again. From there you can try connecting to another online game.
Run the Xbox Network Self Test to see how strong your NAT is currently set to. Once the test is completed you will be notified if there is an issue with your connection. If you select "More Info" you will be given information about your NAT type and some steps to resolve any issues with your connection.
Moderate and Strict NAT types may have issues connecting to online matches. You may get the error "Notice - The game session is no longer available." If you do then enabling UPnP, forwarding port 3074, or placing your Xbox in your router's DMZ may resolve this issue. Please consult your router documentation for instructions on how to do this.

Whoa....this just went way over my head.... I already have 6.1 installed for my Airport Utility.
Read again what I wrote.. 6.1 is the problem.. or part of it.
You need to install the earlier 5.6 version which I have given you explicit instructions to do.
I have done something now and can not connect the XBOX at all now....unless you can provide me step by step directions I may have to call Apple Support.
This will happen over and over.. just press reset and start again.. you need to learn how to do the setup and using 5.6 utility will help you.. as will using ethernet from the computer to the TC.. trying to fix things over wireless is like sitting on a tree branch you are sawing off. As soon as you update you will fall to the ground.
I am not that sure that Apple Support will have any idea.
Do a google search .. you will find most people struggle with this.. Microsoft made the xbox to use upnp with vista specs.. if you use a router without upnp, ie any apple router.. you will have issues.
Have a go at bypassing the problem.. I have no idea if this will work.. I do not use a TC as the main router because much of my network including xbox and ps3 is just a pain.. I use a modem router with upnp. And bridge the TC.. that is the setup I would recommend.
Try this.. once you have installed 5.6 utility.
Get the IP of the XBox and click enable default host.. and put the IP address in there.. this is called DMZ.. all unassigned packets are forwarded to this ip address.. it is like a port forwarding for all ports.
See if it helps.. If it does you will need to lock the xbox address so it doesn't change.. we can get to that.
Tell me what kind of broadband you have and what modem router first.. none of this will work if you have double NAT.

  • Ekiga network settings error (port forwarding)

I've been haunted by this error since I started using Ekiga and have never figured out how to get it to go away...
Ekiga did not manage to configure your network settings automatically. You can still use it, but you need to configure your network settings manually.
    Please see http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Enable_ … g_manually for instructions.
maybe I'm just slow, but when I go to that page, I don't seem to be able to find what the error is referring to for fixing this issue.  Ekiga itself seems to work fine for fairly long periods of time, but it does randomly stop taking/sending calls, so I'm guessing this is the reason why it does that.  Could someone PLEASE explain to me what I am missing or failing to understand...?

I'm getting this problem now....  can't seem to get it to connect..
Its the exact same message, the funny thing is when i installed/used ekiga last week, it worked.... this week it doesn't for whatever reason, i've even set this computer as the dmz on the router... still nothing...
is anyone else having this problem, i'm bewildered
    hmm, if i run ekiga -d 4 2>&1 | grep STUN
    i get:
2011/06/03 14:58:25.030      0:06.320    StunDetector:0xb314fb70    STUN    Poll of secondary server 216.93.246.17:3479 failed, NAT partially blocked by firwall rules.

but i've changed all the settings on the router.... it shouldn't be blocking me in any way...; i've tried the wiki's port forwarding setup, i've tried changing the mtu on the router, turned off nat, set this comp as the dmz, etc; it just won't work, so it must be a local problem? (it worked when i first installed it a week or two ago w/ no config)

  • I am trying to setup port forwarding

I am trying to setup port forwarding for a mfi 5510l hotspot. I have made the changes on the hotspot but the hotspot doen't respond when tested. Can anyone help?

If you examine the About section of the Jetpack’s web style user interface, you should find that it has a reserved IP4 IP address. That means your Jetpack doesn’t connect directly to the public internet, your Jetpack is connected to Verizon’s private network. Your port forwarding has no affect on Verizon’s private network.
    The standard recommendation is:
Purchase a public facing static IP address from Verizon for a one time fee of $500.
Use a VPN to go around the issue.
Use another ISP that provides a static IP address.

  • How can I setup port forwarding for RDP (3389) using MHS291LVW?

    Hi,
I went into my MHS291LVW and I enabled port forwarding.  I didn't see an option for Remote Desktop (RDP) so I added a custom application called RDP and I set "Global Port" and "Private Port" to port number 3389 and I set it as TCP/UDP and then entered the local IP (192.168.1.135) of the PC I want to connect to.  I made my local PC use a static IP so this 192.168.1.135 will never change.
Then when I go under "About Jetpack" I see that there is a WAN IP address listed; so I wrote this down and then I tried to connect remotely to this PC from outside the Verizon Jetpack network but it didn't work.
Then the strange thing is when I go to Google and type "what's my IP", Google shows me a different external WAN IP address that Verizon Jetpack showed me in the admin web interface.  Anyway, I tried this WAN IP address that Google gave me but it still didn't connect to my local PC.
Can someone please help me in figuring out why this is not working?
I've setup port forwarding on plenty of other routers (Linksys, Netgear, etc.), but I never tried it on a Verizon Jetpack MHS291LVW but it should work the same so I'm not sure why this is not working for me.
    Thank you!

    > If I can't use the "Microsoft Windows RDP" service because of the private IP; would I be able to use a software like "TeamViewer" to gain access to my PC?
Yes.  This is how a VPN server works around the private IP address restrictions of the VZW network.  It will work and you will be able to access anything that is centrally connected to a VPN server.
    > Also, if I were to take the VPN option and setup a VPN server on the PC
Not on the remote PC silly guy.  Hosting a VPN from within the VZW network wont do you any good as its IP will be masked by the NAT firewall.  You must setup a VPN server off of the VZW network for it to work.  That way when you remote into the VPN server it is already outside of the VZW NAT that is restricting you in the first place.  There are many VPN vendors that you can test out and pay access for if you don't have any interest in setting up one on your own.  Some are free where others charge more money for more bandwidth and customization features.
    > If I were to try to connect to this PC on the JetPack side from an external PC on a different network I don't know how I would be able to access it since the JetPack IP address is private.
The idea is that everything rests on the VPN server when remote connections are made.  The Jetpack PC, VPN Server and your current local PC all connect to the VPN server so everything is then local communication.  The VPN will make it appear as though everything is virtually connected to the same appliance even though they are physically separated by whatever distance you want.

  • How to setup a UDP port forward range

    Hi,
We are trying to figure out how to setup UDP port forward range. This is the configuration that we are using.
ip nat pool voip-rtp 10.10.10.3 10.10.10.3 netmask 255.255.255.0 type rotary
ip nat inside destination list 114 pool voip-rtp
    access-list 114 permit udp any any range 16384 32767
Where 10.10.10.3 is the host I want to forward the ports 16384 to 32767 to.
This is not working. We use a similar set of commands for TCP range forwarding which work perfecting. Can anyone advise of the correct way to port forward a UDP range.
    Damien

    thanks for the suggestion.
I tried the same , but still the udp port 514 is not available. when i run nmap tool to scan the ports, the udp port 514 is not available to the external world and hence the syslog msgs i send to tat port is not being received. kindly help me out.
    thanks again!!

  • WRT54GL v4.30.7 Port Forwarding

I am unable to get port forwarding to work with this HW/FW combo.  All outgoing access works perfectly.
I've tried all the common suggestions:
Bypass router to confirm ISP is not blocking ports (In fact, I enabled logging via the Administration | Logging tab and can see the incoming traffic, but it never gets to the destination on the LAN side).
LAN-side server machine has a static IP.
Enable DMZ (and disable port forwarding).
    Disable all router security.
    Still nothing gets through!
I have yet to try 3rd-party FW, but I doubt that will work.  I've seen no other posts on this forum with a similar problem, so I doubt it is FW.  I think I have a defective router.

Yeah, I thought it was strange at first too.  Apparently v4.30.7 was pre-installed to aid those folks upgrading to DD-WRT.  Check this out for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WRT54G
    I was thinking...
I am still using the BEFSR41 as a switch on my network.  It's configured for "Router" (as opposed to "Gateway" ) mode and it's uplink port is connected to one of the LAN ports on my WRT54GL.  But I might have another computer connected to the port shared with the BEFSR41 uplink port!  I'm not sure because I'm not at the site right now.
Could that be the problem?  I can't believe it would be the only problem.  I'd expect to have no connection on the computer hooked to the shared port.  That's not the case.  I'm betting that I did not make that mistake.  I'll certainly check when I get the chance.

    Hi Folks,
Same error here. I can successfully video chat with my mom, who has a G4 iMac, connected from her house via cable modem + Airport Express + iSight. I cannot video chat with my sister (G4 Mac Mini, cable + Linksys WRT54G + iSight) nor with my dad (Intel iMac, DSL + Linksys WRT54G).
Skype video, however, does work with all of them.
    I tryed so many alternatives:
    - changed streaming configuration in quicktime prefs
    - disabled firewall in macs
    - disabled firewall in routers
    - changed local network ip address range in each house
    - there are no iChat add-ons (are the BBB games that came bundled with Intel iMacs iChat add-ons?)
This is so frustrating... no audio or video chats. Text works fine.
Anything else I might have forgotten?
    Thanks!
    Leo

  • How do I setup "port forwarding" on a Time Capsule on Mountain Lion?

I am trying to set up a Foscam FI8910W so that I can access it remotely.  I have some tutorials about how to do it, but most seem to involve using an old OS and I'm getting hung up at the step that involves setting up port forwarding.  I have never done this before and I'm flummoxed.

    Tap AirPort Utility
    Tap the AirPort Extreme icon
    Tap Edit
    Tap Advanced
    Tap Port Settings
    Tap New Entry
Enter the port type and values provided by the manufacturer

  • Port Forwarding in WRT54GL Router does not work

When i forward ports in the firware it does not work correctly. I tested it using http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and it still said that the port was closed.

Who is your ISP. When you do port forwarding make sure you have entered the IP address of the computer for which you need to enable port forwarding. Under "Security" Tab uncheck "Block Anonymous Internet Request" and click on Save Settings. After this try testing if that port is opened or not. What ports numbers you are trying to open on your router.

i have 3 questions as u can understand from the subject
First's lets make a rough sketch of the net topology
    Internet --------  DSL Modem ------- WRT54GS  >>>> 2 wireless laptops
                                                                   |
                                                                   |
                                                                   |
                                                        Wired Desktop PC
My DLS Modem is a Siemens Speedstream4200 connected to WRT54GS using an Ethernet cable. WRT54GS is v7.0 using firmaware v7.50.0. The 2 laptops run Vista Home Premium and my Wired Desktop Windows XP Pro.
    So, now to the questions:
    A. I tried using PPPoE in the Internet connection box of the WRT54GS, i supplied the username and pasword of my ISP but i couldn't establish an internet conection. Of course i didn't turn off the modem, router and pc as pointed out in topic with AnwerId = 2210 which i found today, will do that tonight, so hopefully there will not be a problem. I just switched from DHCP to PPPoE.... so, there might not be a prob after all... (is turning on and off the hardware that substancial ? )
    B. I am currently using DHCP as the preferred Internet connetion type. I tried to forward a port to use with uTorrent. I gave my desktop pc a static IP (192.168.1.199), forwarded the port to the corresponding area of the router's page (port 59876, both protocols, enable) and unchecked the Block anonymous requests. Had no luck . Thing is that i am not sure about the TCP/IP settings i have used...
    Static IP :               192.168.1.199
    Subnet   :               255.255.255.255 (default value)
    Default Gateway :  192.168.1.1  (the router's IP)
    Preffered DNS    :  62.178.90.17
    Secondary DNS :   62.178.90.18
The DNS's are the ones that my ISP gave me. Are these the ones that i am supposed to use here or should i use my routers IP as a DSN? (my DSL modem is accessed in the network at http://192.168.254.254)
    C. I have also a second WRT (currently not connected) and i want to use it as an access point (extending the range of my network in a building)
I am thinking of something like the following
    Internet --------  DSL Modem ------- WRT54GS  >>>> 1 wireless laptops (floor 2)
                                                                   |
                                                                   |   (this is an ethernet cable)
                                                                   |
(this is an access point)   WRT54GS >>>> 1 wireless laptop (floor 0)
                                                                   |
                                                                   |
                                                        Wired Desktop PC
What do i have to do ? connect the 2 WRT54GS, make sure that both WRT54GS have the same SSID and use different channels? What about port forwarding ? i guess i will have to forward the IP of the access point to the router and the IP of my PC to the access point ? ? ?
Well, thx at least for your time to read my email

    A. If you cannot set PPPoE on the WRT although it is supposed to be required for your DSL connection then probably the SpeedStream is operating as router as well. That's why you can use internet connection type DHCP. You should post the full information on the Status tab of the router. It will show how you are connected to the SpeedStream and whether it is a router or not. Otherwise you could also do this test. If both IP addresses are not identical then you have a router/modem. You should consider putting the SpeedStream into "bridge" mode. In bridge mode it operates like any normal modem. Then you should be able to configure the PPPoE connection on the WRT.
    B. Obviously, if your modem is also operating as gateway router port forwardings won't work unless you configure port forwardings on the modem/router as well. The modem/router is the device with the public IP address. You have to forward ports from the Speedstream to the WRT WAN IP and on the WRT to the computer in question. You should assign a static IP address in the internet connection settings of the WRT (for similar reasons like for the computer). As this is complicated this would be another good reason to put the modem into bridge mode. Then the WRT is connected to the internet and you only have to configured port forwardings on the WRT.
    C. See here. For a roaming network wireless settings on both WRTs must be identical except for the channel numbers. If you set up the second router like suggested there is no port forwarding on the second WRT.
