Port forwarding settings don't last

Hi I have a synology NAS I set up the port forwarding and all worked fine, confirmed open port 80, all OK
All settings within home hub 2 have not been changed but now the NAS does not respond, and port 80 can no longer be seen  any ideas please

There is a guide here.
Port forwarding problems
I assume that you are using a DDNS service to update your IP address, and you have manually configured a static IP address for the device on your LAN?

  • Airport Extreme removes port forward settings every reboot

    I have set up various port forward settings on my Airport Extreme from OS X Server. However, every time I reboot the Airport, all port forward settings are lost except Contacts, Calendars, and DNS. It gets very troublesome to constantly readd all my settings in there. Port forwards are the only settings that are lost.
    Please help!

    I found the issue – and it's fairly simple and obviously really.  I'm guessing you were adding the ports from OS X Server in the order they are listed within Server.app (where they are listed in alphabetical order).  After Calendar, Contacts and DNS is "File Sharing".
    If this is enabled, whilst File Sharing is enabled on the AirPort Extreme, the port forwarding entry for File Sharing, and anything below is removed.
    Simply disable "File Sharing" from AirPort Utility before continuing (as recommended by Server.app when setting up the service for File Sharing).
    I understand you replaced your AE and no longer have the issue – I thought I'd leave the explanation should others encounter it.

  • Help please, with port forwarding settings

    I have an MSI RG60 wireless router (Ethernet hard wired to my XP Home PC) and don't know what settings to use for port forwarding, to enable my WinMX and BitTorrent clients to work successfully.
    I have the port numbers, and assume that this information goes in the Service Port box, i.e. 6699, or 6881-6889.
    I know which ports are TCP and which are UDP, but I don't know what IP address to enter or which Common Service Port type to choose. Can anyone help please?
    I'm pretty sure that other settings in my PC are OK as I have successfully been running a Belkin router for a couple of years, and have only replaced it with the new MSI unit due to reliability problems.

    It does indeed have port triggering, but it wants incoming and trigger port protocol info, along with trigger and incoming port numbers.
    How can I type ipconfig into either of teh clients...WinMx or Bit Torrent?

  • Cannot save Port Forwarding Settings

    I have a Wireless-N Home Router WRT150N (firmware upgraded to v1.01.9 ).
    When I try to set Port forwarding, I get the screen "Settings are successful. Continue". When I click Continue, the Port forwarding page comes back with empty fields, like if I did not enter anything. I tried to reset the Router twice. No result.
    The same thing happens for Port Range and Single Port forwarding... Impossible to save any settings in there...
    Any suggestion welcome...

    Correction: caching was not the problem.
    The problem was that before posting on this forum, I did not enter a existing IP for destination (left the default 192.168.1.0. What got me confused is that the Linksys interface comes up with a message saying that the settings have been successfully updated, even though nothing was done for lack of an existing destination IP, hence the virgin table served back.
    I think Linksys should revise the GUY to alert the user when the destination IP is not properly set rather than pretending to have registered a new non functional setting.

  • WRT160Nv3 port forwarding settings not being saved

    Hello there.
    I am using a WRT160Nv3 router and am having trouble getting port forwarding to work.
    Specifically, my settings are not being saved properly.
    I am trying to set up a server to run for Minecraft, and I have eliminated all issues save port forwarding.
    I open up the router's settings by going to 10.10.10.1 in my browser.  I go to "Single Port Forwarding."  I then choose a blank spot on the left and label the application (in this case, Minecraft), then I type in the ports I want to forward (minecraft uses 25565).  I check the box "Enabled."  Then I go down to the "Save Settings" button below and click it.
    This brings me to a mostly black screen with a white box in it, and big black letters saying "Settings are successful" and a button to click, labeled "continue."  I click this, and it returns me to the last page I was on (Single Port Forwarding).
    But here is the problem- that page is EXACTLY the same as when I began.  None of what I typed in or changed is actually saved on the screen o_0
    This definitely baffles me, as it seems as if I did nothing in first place.  I use the program whose port I wanted to forward and it still doesn't work, the error messages being the same as always.
    So what is the matter here?  Why aren't my settings being saved properly?  Do I need to get a new router-this one is only a year old...
    Any ideas?
    PS- I also tried to do port range forwarding, and the same thing happens there too.

  • WRV210 loses port forwarding settings after reboot

    Along with wireless problems that have already been documented about this device I am having problems with port forwarding where it will lose all its settings after losing its power.  I then try to go into the management for port forwarding and am not able to put the settings back in as every time I hit 'Save' it just loads the page back up with no settings applied.  Another strange thing is that the protocol comboboxes only have options for UDP or Both.
    I then reapply the latest firmware and am able to enter the settings again.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm at my wits end with this one.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Can someone point me to the open port settings for ichat? I cannot find them on the web and the hints and tips section above this forum says I do not have permission to read.

  • [WRT310N] Single Port Forwarding - Cannot save settings

    Alright, I updated the firmware on my WRT310N (actually after contacting support asking if No-IP.com was added to the DDNS settings, and I was told that the new update would include it, which it didn't) to v1.0.07-LS-HND and now I cannot save any settings in the Single Port Forwarding settings.  I've tested with both Firefox 3.0.7 and IE7.
    Everytime I select "Save Settings," I get:
    Error: F.from0 is undefined Source File: http://192.168.0.1/SingleForward.asp Line: 137
    This is really annoying.  Luckily everything I have set I don't need to change...I just want to add.
     This is the function code:
    function chk_port_range(F)
        var i;
        var from, to, pro, ip;
        for(i=0; i<15; i++) {
            if ( eval( "F.enable"+i+".checked" ) == true ) {
                from = eval( "F.from"+i+".value" );
                to = eval( "F.to"+i+".value" );
                pro = eval( "F.pro"+i+".value" );
                ip = eval( "F.ip"+i+".value" );
                if ( chk_range_helper(from, to, pro, ip) == false ) {
                    alert ( errmsg.err74 );
                    eval( "F.enable"+i ).checked = false;
                    return false;
        return true;

    I have exactly the same problem
    Does Linksys/Cisco have plans on fixing this issue?
    cabozone, thank you for the workaround, but its true that the slots are not enough, crap !

  • WRT400n Not Port Forwarding Even With Correct Settings

    As the title of this post says I have the port forwarding settings correctly set for FTP (and other ports) but no luck. I'm not dumb, I know computers and routers. Even after hard reset, firmware upgrade and setup, still not working. Confirming with third party port scanner that ports not open even though they are setup, enabled and DMZ a few tries. Not firewall issue, worked fine with my previous tomato router setup. I should have never upgraded. Any suggestions other than buying a new router AGAIN?

    I would suggest you to upgrade/reflash the router's firmware and re-configure the router.
    You can download the firmware from linksys website.On the router setup page,Click on the Administration tab to upgrade the firmware.After upgrading the firmware...Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • Setting up router for port forwarding - WRT54G

    Hi all. I'm trying to set up my WRT54G wireless router so.i can port forward the relevant ports for my programs. I understand that you have to set up a static ip address before you can do a port forward which makes sense as you do not want to keep changing the ip address for the forwarding settings every time your network refreshes. But I cant seem to have it set up. And is there a rule that the static ip that you set should not be within the dhcp range?
    After setting up the static ip and setting up the port forward settings how do I test if the port is being forwarded correctly?
    Please assist! Thanks!

    IIt;s usually to set the static IP outside the DHCP range like you said. You can use the router's DHCP reservation feature to set a "static IP", and as for your last question, you can find different methods on how to do that by searching the web.
    I don't work for Cisco. I'm just here to help.

  • Airport Express:  port forwarding won't "stick"

    I have a new Airport Express, and use Airport Utility 6.1 to configure it.  It works fine, but I can't get port forwarding settings to "stick".  I set them (Public TCP Ports and Private TCP Ports) both to 4282 for a particular computer (that has a DCHP reservation), Save and Update, but port forwarding doesn't work and when I come back to check my work, both port settings are blank again!  Thoughts?
    Before:
    After:

    It's finally working!  I changed quite a few things, including getting a different cable modem from Comcast (a Cisco - and apparently all but one Comcast device do NOT include routers), but what made the difference is reading an Apple wireless manual (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/Designing_AirPort_Networks_10.5-Windows.pdf).  Following its (subtle) advice, I:
    Changed the Airport's DHCP range to 10.0.1.2 to 10.0.1.200.
    Moved my Unix box's IP back to 10.0.1.202 (a printer has 10.0.1.201), and removed the DHCP reservation for it.
    Made related changes on my Unix box and Mac (/etc/hosts, etc.) using Webmin, etc.
    Created my "custom" port forwarding by using "Personal Web Service", changing the ports to 4280 and 4282.
    From the beginning I didn't know if my Unix box's IP should be inside the DHCP range with a DHCP reservation, or outside it without one.  Now it is clear that the latter is correct - I should have gone with my gut feeling.  Why it makes such a difference, I don't know, and I don't know if the .200 cutoff for DHCP is an Apple convention or part of a standard.
    Halleluiah!

  • Linksys WRT54G, iChat & port forwarding...

    I changed a lot of the port forwarding settings on my router so that iChat AV would work nicely. Problem is, these commands took up all of the room in the list, and I'm hoping to play around with these settings a little more to get some extra juice out of some online gaming... Can I condense the iChat port forwarding commands into one command, opening all those ports for both instead of just TCP or UDP? Say, from 5060 to 5678, all open for 'both'?
    Thanks for your help, in advance. I realise the better solution would be to buy a router that doesn't make me want to throw it out of a window...

    Hi rodstrout,
    If you do not use Bonjour as you do not have another Mac take out 5297, 5298 and 5353 for the TCP AND UDP settings they have (save four lines)
    If not using Jabber delete 5220, 5222 and 5223 on the TCP setting (or change this to 5220-5223 as it is only 4 ports)
    Setting UPnP if you have it does change it to a Once only ON/Off setting without any typing of ports.
    If you do not have this look for Port Triggering (Special Applications) as this can open the ports in less lines.
    Depending how the ports can be listed the main iChat AV ports can be done in one or two lines.
    On some it can be:
    Trigger port 5678 on UDP to open 5060,5678,16384-16403 (no spaces) on UDP
    ON others it is two lines
    trigger 5678 on UDP to trigger 5060 on UDP
    Trigger 5060 on UDP to trigger 16384-16403 on UDP
    In both cases the Login port of 5190 needs to be a TCP trigger to Both protocols (UDP and TCP) but still on port 5190.
    The Jabber and Bonjour ports are also added as single ports.

  • Port Forwarding (Http, 80). Please Help, its been 24 hours now...

    Hi every one,
    Since last 24+ hours i am struggling to port forwad the Http port (80) to one of my PC connected to Linksys Router. Here is the Senario:
    Cable Modem (Motorola SB5101) is Connected to the WAN port of Router (Linksys Cisco WRT54G2)
    My PC (vista ultimate) is connected to one of the lan ports on the router. (with a static IP, set on the PC's TCP/IP settings: IP address is 192.168.1.100)
    Internet is working fine.
    In the "Port Range Forward" section of the Router Setup Page (accessed by 192.168.1.1) I gave Start:80, End:80, Protocal: TCP*, IP Address: 192.168.1.100, Enable: Checked.
    * I have tried setting Protocol:Both as well
    I have disabled all of my Firewalls on the Router and on the PC as well.
    Now when i test my port 80 accesibility through http://www.canyouseeme.org/, it says connection timed out. (i.e. my web server is not accessible).
    If I connect my modem directly to the pc (without router), and then test port 80 through http://www.canyouseeme.org/ it says connection was sucessful (webserver accessible). (so there is no blocade from ISP)
    DHCP is enabled on the Motorola SB5101 Modem
    DHCP is enabled on the  Linksys Cisco WRT54G2 Router
    Tried following flavours as well:
    DHCP disabled on Modem, Enabled on Router. UPnP enabled on Router
    DHCP enabled on Modem, Disabled on Router. UPnP enabled on Router
    DHCP disabled on Modem, Enabled on Router. UPnP disabled on Router
    DHCP enabled on Modem, Disabled on Router. UPnP disabled on Router
    with the same above flavours, i have also tried DMZ (after disabling all port forwarding settings and making sure no port trigering is set), but that didnt worked as well.
    there is no NAT (enable/disable) settings on my Motorola SB5101 Modem. The only option that i can enable or disable on my modem is its DHCP settings.
    I'll be greatfull if any one can help. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks alot for your guidence.

  • Port Forwarding Issues with WVC210

    Hi,
    I have just purchased a WVC210 and had managed to setup the IP Camera to view internally through either Wired or Wireless at the IP address of 192.168.1.152:1024.
    However, I am not able to set up the IP Camera for remote web viewing. My last attempt stopped at the point where I can remotely access my router admin login when typing the dyndns domain name I had created (e.g.  myhomexxx.dyndns.biz).
    The road  to  Cameera seems so near yet so far... Can someone help me out to see is my port forwarding is done correctly. I had tried on two different models of modem/routers and both don't seem to work and the vendor support blame it on compatbility issues and ask me to check with linksys:
    This is what displayed on a Shiro modem/rounter :
    Application :  WebCamera (user defined)
    Protocol : TCP,UDP
    Source IP/Mask:   192.168.1.152 / 255.255.255.0
    Destination IP/Mask:  192.168.1.152 / 255.255.255.255
    Port Start / Port End:   1024 / 1024
    Port Map: 80
    Can someone help/tell me if I doing the right port forwarding values....  my modem/router IP is 192.168.1.1
    thanks,
    Crispin

    I saw an article that details how to remotely access the camera. Try to follow this link:
