Port required by 12.1.3

HI
I have a requirement to install EBS 12.1.3 on a Linux server, which already host some oracle and non-oracle applications.
I want to check beforehand  if all the ports required by EBS are available or not.
is there any utility or tool which I can use to check if all ports are free or do I have to check every port manually using netstat command?
Thanks

Out of the box, 1024-65535 for all of the client ports.  :)

You'll want to tune your client ports a bit
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204760.aspx as seen here, and then the client ports would use those ranges which is easier to set QoS markings.  I'm not sure the mobile clients respect that setting.
Elan's got the best writeup for Windows clients here:
    http://www.shudnow.net/2013/02/16/enabling-qos-for-lync-server-2013-and-various-clients-part-1/
However, the marking of the packets is the tricky part.  Windows can do it via Group Policy, but for the other clients you'll need to have the network specifically prioritize ports regardless of DSCP markings.  You have to do it based on ports
as the traffic could be peer to peer.

    Hi Everyone,
What are the exact ports which are required to be opened between the client machines and the Report Server so that users are able to use the Reporting Studio. (I guess opening port 8200 only will not suffice, will it?)

When using SCSM 2012 (SP1) you also have to install the analytic services on the instances. I can't remember exactly if it was on the DW or MS, but it would tell you during the installation of it.
And make sure your FIM version is at leat 4.1.3451, I went through a lot of pain with version 4.1.3419 en the

Based on some reading, not sure if it uses other website besides the following http://www.perfigo.com/clean_machine_1/version-se.txt on port 80.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
For CAM checks and rules update, that's the only site required.

  • Ports Required to open between Exchange 2010 & 2013

    Hi,
I have to introduce Exchange 2013 into Exchange 2010 environment that is in same Organization. There are 3 sites connected on which Exchange 2010 installed and 4 site will be Exchange 2013 and then mailbox will migrate to E2k13 servers.
All 4 sites and connected to MPLS link, please let me know what ports are required to open for Communication between mail flow.
From Internet OWA : 443 & 25 is sufficient for Mail flow.
    Amit

Exchange does not support blocking any ports between individual Exchange Servers as well as Exchange to DC communication, so for internal communication everything has to be opened.
If you are just talking client traffic (OWA, ActiveSync, Outlook Anywhere) and smtp mail traffic from external sources, then you should only need 443 (client traffic) and 25 (smtp traffic).

  • Lync onpremise, exchange online and UM ports requirement

    Hello Team,
Could you, please point us to the relevant articles or answer my question in the email.
For the scenario with Lync on-premises and Exchange on-premises there is a requirement to have 60000-64000 ports open between Lync client and UM server in both directions for
    SRTP/RTCP traffic.  Our questions are:
    1.
What are ports requirements for Lync 2013 on-premises with Exchange UM in Office 365?
    2.
How to limit ports used by client for UM traffic? (is it with
    Set-CsConferencingConfiguration?_
    Please advise. MANY THANKS.

    Hi SBHV,
As far as I know, it does not require special port.
You need to configure the Edge Server for federation, because the traffic will through Edge.
60000-64000 ports won’t be used in this case, they are used with on-premises.
    Best regards,
    Eric

  • Port required for Veritas cluster implementation

    hello there ,
i need to know what are the port required for veritas cluster implementation on Sun Messaging Server 6.2 . anybody care to help me on this ?
    thanks

    > We are planning a 2 node Oracle 9i RAC cluster on Sun
Cluster 3.Good. This is a popular configuration.
Can you please explain these 2 questions?
    1)
If we have a hardware disk array RAID controller with
LUNs etc, then why do we need to have Veritas Volume
Manager (VxVM) if all the LUNS are configured at a
hardware level?VxVM is not required to run RAC. VxVM has an option (separately
licensable) which is specifically designed for OPS/RAC. But if
you have a highly reliable, multi-pathed, hardware RAID platform,
you are not required to have VxVM.
    2)
Do we need to have VxFS? All our Oracle database
files will be on raw partitions.No.
IMHO, simplify is a good philosophy. Adding more software
and layers into a highly available design will tend to reduce
the availability. So, if you are going for maximum availabiliity,
you will want to avoid over-complicating the design. KISS.
In the case of RAC, or Oracle in general, many people do use
raw and Oracle has the ability to manage data in raw devices
pretty well. Oracle 10g further improves along these lines.
A tenet in the design of highly available systems is to keep
the data management as close to the application as possible.
Oracle, and especially 10g, are following this tenet. The only
danger here is that they could try to get too clever, and end up
following policies which are suboptimal as the underlying
technologies change. But even in this case, the policy is
coming from the application rather than the supporting platform.

  • Enterprise Service Bus Port Requirements

What are the minimum ports required to open to have ESB work with firewalls. The topology will be
    users ------> |(firewall) ESB server ------> |(firewall) database server
HTTPS needs to go through a firewall to reach the ESB server. The ESB needs to go through a firewall to get to database servers. So far it looks like 443 through the first firewall and 1521 through the second. But what about JMS what port and where. Is there anything I'm missing. Can it managed via 443 or does 8888 need to be opened.

  • Ports required during installation

    Hi,
We have to install the SAP Portal 7 in a distributed environment on the extranet server. Each (db, scs and CI) server has firewalls installed.
I want to identify the ports that would be required to be opened for the installation and functioning of portal.
I have identified the following ports on SCS and CI
    SAPINST Ports 21200, 21212, 4239,
    Message Server 50000, 3300, 3200, 3900
I have identified the following ports on DB
    SAPINST Ports 21200, 21212, 4239
    Listener Port 1527, 3200, 3300, 3900
Could you please add/ modify the current list of ports required to be opened?
    Thanks,
    Antarpreet

    Hi,
Basically, the port numbers are as follows:
32XX, 33XX, etc. where XX is your instance number. Since you wrote 00 above, you have listed the ports only for the instance which would be having the nr as 00. Mostly that would be CI. But your SCS would be having a different instance nr. So please consider that also in this list.
Other than the ports you listed here, all the other ports that you will ever need to use in SAP NW AS Java are listed at:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/7c/9817be794d804c920aaed073b7b0ed/frameset.htm

  • Network Ports requirements in Enterprise Lync Infrastructure with DR

    Hello,
We are in process of Lync Server 2013 enterprise deployment where all the workloads will be used. We have two distinct datacenters representing two different sites. Below is the infrastructure information
    Single Forest
    ContoBill.Com
Empty root domain with three child domains
    Users.contobill.com
    Resources.contobill.com
    Staging.contobill.com
Two AD Sites Default and DR both of them will have DC/GC/DNS for all the domains
Physically we have three tier architecture
Two Datacenters both are identical, details below
Tier1: DMZ that will host the servers that are not in domain and are used for internet gateways like Edge, Proxy etc
Tier2: Internal network (intranet) that will host the database servers and applications
Tier3: Internal network (Intranet) that will host Exchange, SharePoint and Lync
Each tier is a different IP subnet and there is a firewall between each of them, and also there is a firewall between the datacenters as well.
I have following questions in order to plan the lync deployment in highly available environment and maintain supportability.
Q1. Does Microsoft support having firewall between a pool pair, the pool is active/passive and will be utilized only in case of disaster recover.
Q2. If this scenario in Q1 is supported what are the required ports that are required to be opened on the network firewall. In order to successfully synchronize between the pairs
Q3. Does Microsoft support having a firewall between the frontend and backend servers, if yes what are the required ports to be opened on the network firewall

You can find all the Ports and Protocols required by all Lync components at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398833.aspx

  • MGCP FXS ports requires a license in CUCM9

    Hello!
I am connecting Some analoge phones to VG350 FXS ports which is  configured as a MGCP Gateway in CUCM. I beleive MGCP did not requires any license for it. Can some confirm this ? is there any Cisco doc on it ?
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Sambit,
Technically u are correct but legally I think u would be requiring license.
even the ordering guide says Analog devices are supported with Essential USer license  and must be purchased through UCL.

  • Ports Required for SMTP access from DMZ

We have a Windows 2000 Adv Server on a DMZ interface of a PIX firewall. We are using native Windows SMTP services as a Front End server for Exchange mail. Our Exchange server has a SmartHost entry that sends outbound mail to the server on the DMZ. Our MX record points to the server on the DMZ for inbound traffic.
We originally allowed DNS resolution and SMTP (Port 25) traffic to the server. We've done this numerous times from the Internal interface of the PIX. Yet, there apparently is at least one other port that needs to be opened up because the mail stays in the Queue of the SMTP server on the DMZ. We got around the problem by opening up all outbound ports from that server.
My question is: "Does anyone know what ports are required for an SMTP server to work on a PIX DMZ?"
    Thanks

Should just be TCP/25 and probably DNS (UDP/53). Probably the easiest way to figure out what other port it's using is to look at the active connections from this going through your PIX.
Let's say the IP address of the mail server is 10.1.1.1. Doing:
    sho conn | include 10.1.1.1
will give you all the connections. This will tell you where it's connectig to and on what ports. The output will look something like:
    FW1(config)# sho conn | incl 10.1.1.1
    UDP out 10.2.2.1:17127 in 10.1.1.1:10655 idle 0:01:23 Bytes 1000
    UDP out 10.2.2.1:18733 in 10.1.1.1:10477 idle 0:01:38 Bytes 1000
    UDP out 10.3.3.2:18429 in 10.1.1.1:10789 idle 0:01:10 Bytes 1000
The numbers after the colons are the port numbers on the connection. Of course yours will show TCP and port 25 (and something else hopefully), but you get the idea.
