Port Translation (Standard 80 - Non 4468 )

Hi Guys
I would like some advise/ideas on the best solution for the below.
I have a application server which uses non standard HTTP/HTTPS ports.
What I want is a solution to translate these ports to standard ports.
Client 1 accesses the site on port 80 – from a gateway or something similar – the gateway accesses the application server on port 4466 etc and presents the site to the client on port 80.
I have various application servers which use non standard ports and want to create a central solution so that all three of my clients will not have to make any changes to the firewall/ proxy servers as to them they will be accessing the site on a standard port 80.
Any advise much appreciated.
Many thanks
Ed

Hi Jorge
Thanks for the prompt response
I havent purchase the kit yet as i wanted to make sure what i want to do is feasible
and also which is the best solution for me.
I belive  Port Redirection (Forwarding) is the best solution for my ports issue.
In terms of load balenceing which i will need for this would you reccomned a Cisco ASA.
Do you think this will meet my required needs
Many thanks

The translation is from one port to another, not many to one.
Meaning that we can't redirect all three ports to just one on the outside.
We have to use one port per IP.
Would this work if i had multiple ports ?
Only if you have multiple addresses.
    Like:
    Test1.com:80---internalTest1.com:4445
    Test2.com:80---internalTest2.com:4456
    Test3.com:80---internalTest3.com:8776
They will allow the traffic through as normal?
Yes, the clients in the outside will just go to the websites as usual, the whole process will be transparent for them.

  • Port Forwarding with Port Translation RV042, RV016, RV082

This is a feature request for the Linksys RV series Routers.  Currently, it appears that the Cisco/Linksys RV042, RV082, and RV016 only support port forwarding and 1-to-1 Nat.  One item that I find very helpful with customers is port forwarding with port translation.  I am requesting that this feature be included with a future firmware relase for these RV series routers.
Here is an example of the request.
Take an incoming service request on a TCP or UDP destination port and forward it to an internal IP on a different TCP or UDP port.  For example, customer A wants to allow different machines on the internal network to receive Windows RDP connections inbound.  To make PC maintenance identical between the internal machines, the customer does not want to change the listening port for RDP on the individual PC workstations through the Windows Registry.  The customer also does not want to dedicate separate IP's to each machine in a 1-to-1 NAT setup.  The only option is to have remote connections to each of these PC's to use a different destination port.  So, for example, PC one could be reached on TCP port 5151, PC two on TCP port 5152, and PC three on port 5153.  This requres a firewall that is able to translate each of these connection requests to a different internal IP on the default RDP port (TCP 3389).  So, the following setup is required:
    Port Forwarding with Port Translation:
Router External IP on TCP port 5151 ---> forwarded to PC One's internal IP on TCP 3389
Router External IP on TCP port 5152 ---> forwarded to PC Two's internal IP on TCP 3389
Router External IP on TCP port 5153 ---> forwarded to PC Three's internal IP on TCP 3389
There are several comparable "small business" class router competitors to the RV042, RV082, and RV016 that will perform this port forwarding with port translation process without incident.  Unfortunately, these Cisco/Linksys small business routers will not accomplish this task currently.
Please implement this feature in a future firmware release.
    Thanks!

Excellent.  I see this now.  None of our customers actually use the UPNP feature, so we never realized that Port Forwarding with Port Translation features existed on this page along with the ability to enable or disable UPNP.
Perhaps, in the future, this functionality could be moved to and incorporated into the port forwarding page which seems to be a more logical location.
In either case I'm very happy to know that this feature is available on the RV's.
    Thanks for your assistance.

  • LR214 port forwarding / port translation config issue

I am trying to create multiple ssh tunnels through  LRT214 with portforwarding. - basic ssh tcp forwarding works fine :  I added new service TCP port 22; and than forwarded it from the WAN port to an internal server; - now I am trying to to forward 4 external tcp ports (I am port values values in 5xxxx  range) to four different intenal servers to standard port 22 on each: in portforwarding services I created 4 different TCP (WANip->internalserver[1-4]ip)  and created 4 forwarding entries;in port translation I created 4 port translations  port5xxx1->port22, port5xxx2->port22, etc..opened it all in firewall (tcp ports 5xxx[1-4] are open any to any) when I try connecting to one of 5xxxx ports from the outside I get 'connection refused', port scan shows for all 4 ports 'port closed' What am I missing ?

You can use Port Address Translation (PAT) to address your concern. Simply follow the steps below:  1. Add the Service port your device will be listening into. a. Configuration>Setup>Port Address Translationb. Click on Service Management. Service Management window will show up.c. Give the Service a named. Chose TCP or UDPe. Input the External (ex.: 10001)  and Internal (ex.: 22) portsf. Click OK  2. Point the Service port to the device. a. While in the Port Address Translations page, select the Service port in the "Services" drop down menu.b. Enter the IP address (ex.: 192.168.1.11) of the device.c. Put a check on the Enable box.d. Click on Save.

  • How to translate Standard Text

    Hello experts,
I need to translate Standard text created in SO10. Where I can find it in SE63? What Object Type corresponds to Standard Text?
    Thanks in advance.

ok i was hmmm lets say in a Hurry,
first use FM copy_texts, when ready use FM commit_text.
    When changing or copying texts using FM´s SAVE_TEXT, DELETE_TEXT, COPY_TEXTS, ...
you need to fire FM COMMIT_TEXT afterwards.

  • Standard and Non-standard exports and queries issue

    Hi,
We have created a few STANDARD books with standard exports in them. The standard exports use standard queries.
The ISSUE is that in the Verifications/Filters tab, where we have put in a lot of queries - ONLY the STANDARD queries show up. We would like to have all the queries show up. I am the adminsitrator and still only the standard ones show up.
I am worried that if I "Save As" the export as a non-standard export, it does not allow me to uncheck the standard tick column and save it but I have to manually change the name of the export. Can we change this in anyway?
Is there a system preference where I can allow all the queries to show up in the verifications/filter tab at least for the admnistrators if not for all? Thanks
    - Ad

Thanks for your input but DRM does seem to be behaving what you said or may be I am still missing something here.
    I created a standard query.
    I have a standard export.
Now, in the verification/filter tab of my Standard export, I am able to see my standard queries.
    But,
I am unable to see the Non-Standard Queries.
    HOWEVER,
If I have a Non-Standard export --> I am able to ALL the queries. This makes it a lot more flexible in doing things.
My question is the WHY are my standard exports not able to reach the non-standard queries. What I wanted to do a twist in my export for analysis purposes for a particular use. If non-standard exports have access to Standard and Non-Standard queries --> it just makes more sense to always use a non-standard export and create non-standard queries.

  • LRT214 Accessing Web Services with Port Forwarding & Port Translation

    Good afternoon to all,
Purchased the LRT214 yesterday afternoon and it was a breeze to configure the internet settings and get back online. But after the initial configuration, I ran into some trouble getting the router to do port translation together with port forwarding.
The port forwarding setup is straighforward and works perfectly, the same cannot be said for the port translation which does not seem to work. I programmed the following,
    1) external port 88 forwarded to internal port 80 for 192.169.1.12
    2) external port 89 forwarded to internal port 80 for 192.169.1.13
Can someone point me in the correct direction to achieve the above?

  • Oracle standard reports (non FSG) using Report Manager

    Hi,
I was wondering if Oracle standard report (non FSG reports) can be run/published from Report Manager. If yes, can somebody provide me the steps to run/publish these reports?
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks
    Sam

    Sam,
I have never tried this believe but I think it is not possible (I am not referring to standard concurrent programs which are submitted through WebADI/ADI). You may give this a try by assigning certain module/application and make it print to this concurrent manager and see if it works.
BTW, what is the point of running standard concurrent requests on Report Manager?

  • Homehub 3 - port translation / redirection

I have a network problem which I am hoping someone may be able to assist with: I am planning to deploy a number of wifi range extenders in my home network. The extenders, once configured, can be administered locally (i.e. from within the LAN environment) via an HTTP / port 80 web browser. I need to administer these devices from the internet side of the router. By implementing a rule on the port forwarding screen I am able to route all inbound traffic on port 80 to a specific range extender in the LAN. This is where my problem begins as the router can apparently only route traffic to one such device via port forwarding (I need to access several such devices). The range extenders themselves can only listen on port 80. A possible option would be to use port redirection within the router but I cannot find any port translation / redirection facilities in the Homehub 3  router to enable this for multiple devices. For example, I could target port 8000 (inbound) which might then be converted to a local address on port 80, so 2.120.45.247:8000 would be translated at the router to 192.168.1.5:80. Further to this I could then target 2.120.45.247:8001 - this would be translated at the router to 192.168.1.6:80. If what I am proposing is not possible please could anyone advise any alternative method for achieving my requirement?

Its more likely to be a coding issue within the web site. You need to check that any internal references are relative to the actual page, and do not use the absolute address.
I had a similar issue when I ran my website on port 8100. Some of the images would not display because the were given full web adresses, and not coded relative to the actual page they were needed on.
I would imagine that your form data is being returned with a port 80 header, and would not leave your server.
I am using a normal ADSL connection, and in the end, I had to move the web server to the normal port 80, as it was too much hassle to deal with the coding. Also I use Wireshark to keep a random check on traffic, and having to alter it to decode http on port 8100, was too much bother.
This is only a guess at what may be happening in your case.
Is it not possible to run your website on port 80?

  • Are QOS BUM Policer BUM Parameters applicable for virtual ports or only for non virtual ports?

Are QOS BUM Policer BUM Parameters applicable for virtual ports or only for non virtual ports?

    Just FYI.
I probably overestimated RHEL/OEL-5.3 capability to "compete in Music Showbiz" as a digital studio workstation OS. Seems that "very old" alsa kernel drivers (1.0.17), compiled with actual kernel, don't like Audigy cards when it comes to MIDI interface, despite the fact the audio is perfect. Although I am still not sure nothing could be done as a workaround in order to get MIDI worked on OEL-5.3, the fact is that SB Audigy MIDI works like Roland Synth, sounding amazingly, if the kernel 2.6.18-128.1.1.0.1.el5 is recompiled with the actual alsa driver version 1.0.19 (modules snd-emu10k1, snd-emu10k1-synth, etc).
It's interesting that overall device and loaded-modules schema's picture is the same as with old alsa (original kernel). That's why I still think something could be done, at least as workaround, to get MIDI worked with original OEL-5.3 kernel.

  • Translating standard portal messages

    Ladies and Gents,
I'm trying to find out how one can translate standard portal messages. Or rather modify the translations, which isn't always complete or correct.
For example the "Your request is being processed..." message when you click on something and the portal loads.
In the previous portal versions this could be modified directly in the DB, but in our current portal (not so current actually) NW04 SP14 I don't find any db tables that resemble string / translation.
    Any ideas are most welcome
    Thanks in advance,
    Dimitar

    Hi,
All the messages are located in Resource bundle files, so nothing in DB.
So for example, if you want to change the "Your request is being processed" message, then you will find it in Localization.properties files in com.sap.portal.htmlb.par under htmlb.jar file. (com.sapportals.htmlb.Localization)
So all the translation files are in their respective par files.

  • L550/010 USB port not working properly, non-standard USB ports

I wondering if anyone can shed some light on this strange problem I'm having with my laptop USB ports.
    Background.
I have a USB device (CED-M2 USB Chronograph). The device comes with Windows 7 software to upload fps readings.
The CED has a calculator style keyboard - so you can lookup data without the laptop.
My L550 PSLWSA-01000Q, is running Windows 7 professional.
    Problem.
When I connect the CED into the USB port the buttons on the CED no longer operate, As soon as the USB lead is disconnected the buttons work. Uploading the data doesn't work either. The buttons freeze occurs as soon as I plug into a powered USB port (even if user not logged into Windows and programs are not running).
I've installed the upload program onto two PC's at home (Vista Home and Windows 7 Home) and both PC's connect to the CED and upload fine. Furthermore, the CED push buttons works perfectly! So, this leads me to think that the hardware or signals from the laptop USB ports is not standard.
I've tried all three laptop ports (e-Sata/USB and normal USB ports), same problem.
Any ideas what could be causing this problem?

    Hi Jerry
    Firstly, thanks for repsonding.
All L550/010 USB ports appear to work well on other devices (Sierra Wirless card, HP optical mouse, HTC phone), doesn't matter which port (USB, Esata/USB) all works fine with these units.
I've tried connecting the Chrono via a USB 4 port expander - same problem, no comms, chrono buttons locks up. Connect to Home PC running Vista Home and Windows 7 Home and works fine 9 - just can't take those to the range.
The Chrono unit is self powered (9V Alkaline) and it's new, so USB supplied 5V is not a problem.
The buttons seize whenever the laptop is powered up. Also, if the chono unit is powered down, connecting the USB lead to the laptop turns it on (wakes up). This wake up functions on both home desktop PC's and laptop (good), however, with the laptop I can't power down the Chrono as the buttons don't work.
Whilst laptop connected, and rebooting the Laptop, the Chrono buttons will work just before the Press F2 for setup screen comes up - so could it be electrical.
I've downloaded the latest BIOS from Toshiba and Intel chipset too - no change.
I got the unit to connect once tonight - when I plugged my mouse in at the same time - USB configured for mouse, and whilst doing that the Chrono worked. Once mouse working, Chrono stopped. Can't repeat results.

  • HTTPS port not activated on non-central Advanced Adapter Engine

    Hello,
we have upgraded our non-central adapter engine from XI 3.0 to 7.1 EHP1.
Before, we were using port 58201 (5<InstanceID>01) for HTTPS and it was working fine. On the new system, the port 58201 isn't active, which I've checked with 'telnet <host> 58201'.
On XI 3.0, the port could be configured in the Visual Admin -> SSL Provider, but I don't find the corresponding setting in NWA.
I've already checked miscellaneous SAP notes (856597, 891877,...), HowTo-Guides and Blogs, but didn't find any hint...
Any idea, where I could edit the HTTPS port in NWA of the non-central adapter engine?
    Thanks,
    Juergen

    Hello,
I didn't get access to ExchangeProfile over URL http://<host>:<port>/exchangeProfile and didn't find the settings in NWA.
Reason was the missing CryptoLibrary as discribed on http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/f1/2de3be0382df45a398d3f9fb86a36a/frameset.htm
