  • Portable power query

Hi there, can anybody recommend a means of powering my 15" mbp and ext hard drive, when working away from a mains power source. I am looking to upload and edit footage "out in the field" as it were and need say 10 hours of use minimum. Can I use those portable power packs (the type that campers etc would use to power portable DVD players) etc?
    Thanks
    Stuart

Check out the stuff Xantrex offer, one of them would be ideal for you:

  • Wvc80n Portable Power Supply?

Has anyone found a successful way to power the wvc80n using a portable power supply? I need to place the camera in an area with no outlet. I need the camera to be powered for at least 4 hours but 8 would be optimal. Anyone have any suggestions on a portable power solution like a battery pack or rechargeable power supply? Thanks, any advice welcomed!

What you need to consider most of all is that the portable power supply should support the power specs for the camera. I did check it from the website and the power specs is 5V 1 A.

  • Portable battery pack

I'm looking for a portable battery pack to use with ap350 and br350 when doing a site survey. any recommendations, manufacturers, etc.?

I’m just curios if you bought the battery pack from Terra-Wave and if it worked together with the 350-serie? The specification of the battery pack says that it can deliver 5V and 12V (according to their homepage). My concern it that 350-units uses inline power and that the input power requirements for AP350 units are “24VDC 10% to 60 VDC (Ethernet line power)” compared to the AP340 that have a power consumption of 5V5% @ 800 mA.
I am looking for a battery pack that works with 350 units myself, and I would appreciate any comment of the topic.
The only product I have seen that should work together with AP350 is available here. http://www.ensign-net.co.uk/EWS/mainframe.htm

  • How does one tone down the power pack connect 'beep'

When my S10 Netbook is already powered on (battery operation) and I connect the power pack, it emits a beep that's loud enough to wake the dead. Is there a way to tone it down?
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Follow the arrow > on the right, after Mic Volume, there is the option PC Beep.

  • Which Is the Right Power Pack?

My mother's thumb was amputated due to bone cancer a few months ago. At Christmas, I bought her an iPhone 4S with a Morphie Juice Pack. It's a nice piece of equipment with a few glaring problems. It has no AC adapter. One has to separate it into the upper and lower half to charge the iPhone and the Morphie Juice Pack separately. One cannot charge both at the same time while assembled (from what I read in an earlier post).
I had to jury rig a Bluetooth charger to charge the Morphie.
Is there a power pack with an AC adapter which does not require the user to separate power pack from the iPhone; which allows one to charge both as a unit and then simply unplug the assembly and use it? She can't separate the Morphie Juice Pack as it's too difficult to pull apart and she does not have a thumb on one of her hands to accomplish this.
    -Dr. John

    Kappy,
There was a post on the Apple forums that said Morphie Juice Packs would not charge an iPhone while it was in the case. I found out from the manfuacturer that this information is wrong. One can charge the iPhone in the Morphie Juice case. One need not take apart the case and the phone and charge each one separately. So, I posted due to erroneous information I saw on this forum. Now I stand corrected.

  • Universal power pack for Mac air, Mac pro and ipad

Have an 10 hour flight comming up    Would like to purchase universal power pack for Mac air Mac pro and ipad

I do not take Intergrative Nutrition, but I have some advice for choosing your device.  Your choice of device should be based upon what you will use your device for currently and in the future.
If you are just using your device to use the internet and do light activities (smal typing, etc.) then the MacBook Air is a better choice.  You should note that the Air has no Superdrive(for your DVD's CD's etc.) so you will have to put out more money to get one.  It can also be slow because of the Flash Memory.
If you are going to be doing more "heavy" computing (photo editing, sound editing, lots of multitasking, large file sizes etc) then I would suggest getting the MacBook Pro.
If you prefer tablets, or tablet style reading then the iPad will be better for you.  You should keep in mind that ther are restrictions on the files that you can view or work with on the iPad.
Overall, I prefer the MacBook Pro because of its versatility, durability and capabilities to do multiple file types.  If you have any more questions, feel free to drop by your local Apple Store or Apple Authorize Retailer.  They will be happy to help you!

  • Any portable battery packs that work with the iPhone?

I'll be doing a lot of "line waiting" next week and would like to use the iPhone for entertainment (internet/movie watching). I believe they're rated to last about 6-7 hours but I haven't been getting that much from mine (I'd also want something as a backup in case my battery dies on me and I'm not by a charger (or have the time to let it charge)).
I've seen portable battery packs for the ipod (that plug into the dock connector) but do any work with the iPhone?

I haven't tried one, but I think it's extremely likely that it would work. All the reports are that every iPod charging accessory - wall adapters, car adapters - works with iPhone.

  • Alternative of Microsoft visual basic power packs

    Hello there,
Is there any alternate to Microsoft visual basic power packs??
Now i am using visual basic power packs for displaying email details in proper manner like sender name, subject, date & time in one particular row. So is there any other option for doing such things apart from Microsoft visual basic power packs??
    Thank in advance.

The AutoCad Tutorial in the below link says you can use Visual Studio Express
Jesus Espiga. For 2010 Visual Studio for Visual Basic express version was called Visual Basic 2010 Express.
Autodesk - My First Plug-in Training
You don't provide a link to the Tutorial you are using which of course makes it difficult to know much about the issues you may be having.
Maybe the Tutorial is using a different year of Visual Studio Express or Visual Studio in the video Tutorial. So of course the Visual Studio IDE (GUI, whatever) would appear different, the controls and other things may be different than the Visual Basic
    Express 2010 IDE.
That doesn't mean Visual Basic 2010 Express can not do what you need to do. Mostly it means you are probably unfamiliar with Visual Basic programming and therefore do not understand how to implement the desired capabilities shown in the tutorial on one version
of Visual Studio with the version of Visual Studio you are using.
So unless you can explain in more detail why you are having issues I will guess it is because you can't follow along due to differences in the Visual Studio used in the tutorial and the Visual Basic 2010 Express you are using with regard to limited knowledge
on your part of using Visual Basic 2010 Express in the first place. Therefore unable to transfer what is going on in the video to what you need to be doing in Visual Studio.

  • Portable Power Supply for iPhone 3G

    Hi,
I am looking to buy a portable USB power supply for my iPhone 3G.
I will be flying next month, so I need something to provide additional power while I am in the air.
I have searched around, and found:
IGO® POWERXTENDER UNIVERSAL AA BATTERY-OPERATED CHARGER
    http://www.thesource.ca/estore/product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&catego ry=iGo-HO&product=2739104
IGO POWER TIP-A133 (adapter for iPod/iPhone)
    http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&catego ry=iGo-Tips&product=2739128
I live in Canada (so I can't buy from places such as Amazon.com) and would like to keep the cost to a minimum (I don't fly all that often).
I am wondering what people recommend for an affordable portable power supply, that accepts USB?
    Thanks for your time.
    - Brennan

There is power lost when using these chargers. Loss due to current creating heat in the wiring, loss in the iPhone battery that is being charged due to resistance in the battery, and loss due to the semiconductor devices used to manage the charging process. Not all of your 1000 mAh "ends up" in the iPhone battery.
I said "more than half" and that is literally true but a little pessimistic sounding. Maybe 70-80 percent. But I do not know. It will not be 87 percent. That's still good, to me.
Here is a quote from the instruction sheet for my 1200 mAh Richardsolo battery:
"If you have a 20-30% charge remaining in your iPhone, a fully-charged backup battery will bring the iPhone back to about a full charge. Once your iPhone is below 20% remaining battery charge, you may
not quite get a complete recharge from the backup battery, but close."
I find those percentages to be about right.
Regarding Amazon review, I think that is true only for an iPhone that is only partly discharged, not completely discharged.

  • What product can I buy that will provide portable power to my MacBook Pro and iPhone and iPad when I am flying?

What product can I buy that will supply portable power to my MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad when I am flying?
I recently was on an extended trip and the port for charging at my seat was not working.

    Unfortuntly you can't.
The Apple Airline adapter is only meant to keep a fully charged battery from draining, however with newer computers requiring more power, they tend to drain the battery AND the power at the same time, thus require more power hook up without the computer running to charge the battery.
Since your iPhone and iPad charge off USB, that's going to drain the MacBook Pro battery as well.
To generate enough power to charge all three will require a portable generator which of course can't be used on a plane.
The best you can do is have all three charged up before you board the plane, and use each for as long as you can.

  • TS1713 I need to purchase a new Portable Power Adapter which has a barrel type connection.  The one I have is not working.

I need to purchase a new portable power adapter which has a barrel connector. Can not locate a new power adapter on the web site. Went through the troubleshooting, it is definitely not charging. Any one have info on this?

You can buy from Apple. Or other vendors, such as Amazon.
Check the wattage - it is printed on the side of the charger. Do not buy a lower wattage.
Here's one. Note this is not an endorsement, only an example.
