com.bea.p13n.security.realm.RDBMSRealmHello Henry,
Windows XP is not a currently supported platform for Weblogic Portal.
Please see http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/install/platforms.htm
for currently supported platforms.
Thank you.

    Hi Sarbjeet,
I first thought of creating URL Iview and passing the user id and other required details as parameter to that URL Iview.
Then reading your mail i thought of creating a web dynpro java application and then pass all the required values to the url in the application only but i am confussed how i will call the dot net application.
If you have a better suggestion please let me know how to do it.

  • 2004s BI Portal (BI-Java) and BI-ABAP: doublestack vs. separated stack

    Hi specialists,
We plan to migrate our NW2004 System (no Portal in use) to NW7.0.
For the NW7.0 Portal Architecture we are not sure what to choose:
    - BI-ABAP and BI Portal (BI-Java) on the same instance (doublestack)
    - BI-ABAP and BI Portal (BI-Java) on seperate instances (separated stack architecture)
Medium term we assume, that the portal is used for Web-Reporting and integrated planning. The development of applications (Java, Visual Composer) will be the exception.
But if our reporting requirements changes and the number of own applications is increasing?
Which is the best possibility to be future-proof?
    - Is it possible to separate the doublestack architecture later?
    - Is it possible to "transport" Portal stuff/applications from a doublestack system to a separated stack system?
    - If the number of Portal-applications is increasing, is it an opportunity to set up an additional BI-Portal which is connected to the doublestack BI system?
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards
    Karin.

    Hi
Too many questions .But its interesting.Ok lets take one by one.
You can have either of the options depending on the amount of data and your hardware.
I would suggest if you have the hardware go for seperate machines for each kind of installation.I mean have a BI system((dual Stack) + Portal or you can have portal on a seperate machine also. Then you can have another portal (single stack). And using the FPN(Federated Portal Network) concept you can actually implement ur scenrio.
Note :BI-Java cannot be installed seperately you need a portal for it.
Yes FPN can be used to transport the data from one portal to another. To the last questioin i have already answered ,its better to go for a seperate BI system.
Any other doubts feel free to ask:

  • SSO between SAP Portal 7.3 and Ruby on Rails

    Hello Everyone,
We are planning to integrate SAP Portal 7.3 and a RoR application and I am wondering If someone can share some experience (If you have any of course) on how to establish SSO between SAP Portal and RoR.
The SAP Portal will act as service provided and RoR as a consumer, we don't have LDAP, so the Portal UME is in ABAP and RoR uses an own UME database. We have SSO between our Portal and SAP Backend systems.
In RoR customers will have access to their own information (Invoices, etc..) that will be provided by the backend system.
URL transaction and iFrames is not an option for us.
The second option is to call Web Services, directly or through the SAP Portal (we are using a central sr).
I am a NetWeaver consultant who heard about RoR but have no experience in this field.
All help and tips are greatly appreciated!.

  • How can I uninstall a damaged installation of Fusion - PFRD 11.1.1.6.0 - Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer

    Hello,
I am upgrading EBS 11i to 12i, Discoverer 4 to 11. After completing ebs installation and upgrade successfully, I am now working on the Oracle Fusion piece of the upgrade.
    I have installed
    1. JDK
    2. Repository Creation Utility - RCU (schema)
    3. Weblogic - WLS 10.3.6
    4. Oracle Fusion - Discoverer 11g Release 1 Patchset 1 11.1.1.2.0 PFRD
    5. Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g Patchset 11.1.1.6.0 - Patchset 13517084
    6. Executed config.sh and it failed with but continued.
During the Configuration of Oracle Fusion with config.sh there was failure at with "fails at creating data sources" and accidentally proceeded and all seem to go well until after shutting down the servers when Weblogic Managed Server is unable to start.
The start log indicated: "weblogic.store.PersistentStoreFatalException: [Store:280105]The persistent file store "_WLS_WLS_DISCO" cannot open file _WLS_WLS_DISCO000000.DAT." and I have been unable to find a solution for this error?
See log file error at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15497130/oracle/ebs11/startManagedWebLogic.sh_nohup.out
If re-installation is my only option, then what are the steps to uninstall, and which components do I have to uninstall given that I had upgraded all the schemas involved?
    Mathias

    Hey,
You can always change the JDBC datasources in the Weblogic admin console . but have you recorded what is the specific error you got during the datasources creation .
I prefer...create a new user , give him sysdba privillages . Start RCU and create the DEV_DISCOVERER , DEV_DISCOVERER_PS schemas (prefix is your choice)
The Admin server will start . so go to admin console .
    click services -> Data Sources
Check the data sources you have . edit each datasource and update the connection pool information .
after this you can start the Managed server WLS_DISCO
i believe this will solve this .........
if you still get issue again . you can try the link Using the WebLogic Persistent Store
    Thanks

  • Install and config issues with Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer

For a while now I've been struggling with migrating a testing database to a newer version.
And right now I'm pretty much stuck at trying to configure Oracle Portal, Forms Reports and Discoverer
    What I've got:
    Windows server 2008 R2 64bit
    Oracle 11g database
    Java 6u27 64bit
JDK 1.6 64bit (using this after 1.7 ended up throwing out bugs while trying to start a weblogic server)
    JDK 1.7 64bit
Weblogic 10.3.5 (or so i think - I've installed from the wls1035_generic.jar from the oracle website)
PFRD 11.1.1.2 with 11.1.1.3 installed over it, installed without config
    and a hanging up configuration
Basically I've been trying to install PFRD (only forms, reports and enterprise manager from it actually) but it kept failing once it got to the configuration stage, so I installed without config, applied 11.1.1.3 and now trying to run the config manually with the good old \bin\config.bat
Result - the config froze for approx.18 hours then failed
There isn't much useful info I could deduct from the logs, mostly just says one or more configuration parts failed. At one place it mentions trying to set up a domain and starting up an adminserver for it - and apparently that's where it hangs up and finally times out and fails.
I'm a little clueless what to do about it as the logs don't say anything else of use I could understand. Any ideas there?

Trying the step by step, the only difference between that and what i do seems to be the file copying (which I can't do - there is no windows\extra\ directory anywhere, the files mentionned seem to already be on their places and either only there, or exactly the same) and clistering
So far the news ain't good - the config process hangs on creating domain ->Step Creating Domain started
It isn't frozen per se - the process doesn't use up any processor time, memory consumption within bounds, it reacts to button clicks and all..it just doesn't do anything concerning the said domain
the last thing the .out file shows:
Creating a new AdminServer Object ...

  • Can Portal 3.0 and 8i/9i Database Software exist on same Machine?

Our current setup at work is webdb 2.1 and Oracle EE 8.0.5 residing on ONE physical server.
(Sun Solaris)I need to upgrade the Software to Oracle EE 8.1.7 and Portal 3.0. We do not run Webdb as part of an internet or intranet site(These are controled by other departments)We use these products so a small number of users (9-30) can easily access a data warehouse via a browser. I will never get the funding for a 2nd Physical machine to act as as application server. I am hoping I am confused but can Portal 3.0 and 8i/9i Datbase software be installed on the same physical machine? I was led to believe that 9i Application Server Software can not be installed on the same machine as the 8i/9i
database. Why do I need application server software or the 9iAS http listener when Oracle 8.1.7 comes with an inbuilt http listener?
If we have to have a 2nd physical machine,
management will pull the plug on Oracle and will go with another vedor solution. I don't want to loose my Oracle SQL skills, can someone please help!

I've installed Portal 3 (production) and database 8.1.7 on one machine running Windows 2000 and 99% works fine.
    The procedure is:
    1) Install the database from operating user X in Oracle-home A
    2) Turn off the http-listener for the database.
    3) Install iAS from os-user Y in Oracle-home B.
If you do not use separate users or use database 8.1.6 or earlier, you get problems with the java-patchs and libraries.
By the way - it is NOT possible to install a development environment (Designer 6/6i, Developer 6i, Discoverer 3.1) on that same machine. Cause is that ias9i installs Developer 6i patch 2 (runtime) and that version doesn't operate against the latest available development patches. So, I think in your case you have to install the development software on the clientmachines.

Since your weblogic is on version 10.3.3, you can only succesfully configure your fusion middleware when you are on version 11.1.1.3.
So (1) restart the install of fusion middleware 11.1.1.2, (2) choose install type INSTALL ONLY, (3) start installation of fusion middleware 11.1.1.3 and finally (4) configure fusion middleware using AS_ORACLE_HOME\bin\config.bat

  • Help in Installing Oracle Portal,Forms,Reports and Discoverer(11.1.1.2.0)

    Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) for Linux x86-64.
I have installed weblogic 10.3.5 generic jar file.
When i try to install forms and reports server the configuration step fails while creating weblogic domain.
Please help me installing portal and reports.
Is there any patch i am missing or the weblogic version is incorrect?
    Thanks.

You cannot configure Fmw 11.1.1.2 against WLS 10.3.5. They are not supported nor compatible.
If you want to use WLS 10.3.5, you need to "install" 11.1.1.2, but do not configure. That is an installation option. After you have successfully installed 11.1.1.2 you will need to patch it to 11.1.1.6. After patching, you then can run the configuration (config.bat).

You said, "...+I would like to install Release 2(11.1.1.2.0)+ ...". Be careful. 11.1.1.2.0 is not Release 2. The version for Rel 2 is 11.1.2.0, notice that there is one less "1". Also, there is no way to patch from Release 1 to Release 2.

  • Portal Activity Reporting and SAP Business Warehouse

    Hi,
Does anyone out there know if SAP has or plans in the near future to deliver Portal Activity Reporting content via SAP Business Warehouse?
I would have thought BW would have been the ideal solution to enable some "out of the box" Portal Content in terms of extracting the data from the tables used for the Portal Activity reports, and then extracting them to BW for slicing/dicing & Presentation.
The current standard Portal Activity reporting does not supply what we need. We don't want to spend time and money developing this ourselves if SAP has plans to deliver it in the near future.
    Any news please?
    Cheers, Phil G.

    Hi,
Check this blog which tells about the future of Activity Reporting..

  • How can I include a portal component look and feel in a java servlet

Does any body know how can i include a portal component look and feel (tables, buttons, etc) in a java servlet?

    Hi José,
I don't think that is possible. But you can import the css files that ep uses for its look and feel and try to give your web pages similar look and feel. The tables and other controls used in EP are totally different and are done through complex JavaScript coding instead of simple HTML tags. If you want exact lok and feel then i thin you must go for a Webdynpro based application rather then a J2EE application with JSPs.

    Guru.

  • Differences between the Portal Data Collector and the Activity Data Collect

    Hello,
I want to know what are the differences between the Portal Data Collector and the Activity Data Collector?
    Best Regards.
    Pablo Mortera.

All of my SQL Server instances  are sql server 2008r2 standard edition(10.50.2500). MDW is existing database, I try to setup collection sets for multiple instances and store data in one central MDW database
I create MDW in one instance, then run run configure Management Data Warehouse in target intance. collection sets were created successfully, but job failed with following error:
Executed as user: COCAD\INTDEPT01SQLAgentC10. The Management Data Warehouse version "00.00.0000.00" is not supported by the current data collector. Please upgrade the Management Data Warehouse by running the Management Data Warehouse Configuration
Wizard.  Process Exit Code 5.  The step failed.
    Thanks
