Portal and BW certificate must be different
Hi,
We've installed BI with BI Java and Portal as Addin on same System.
We've configured the BI & Portal integration via NWA and everything is ok. But after when tested we got " The system is unable to interpret the SSO ticket received " errors during Bex Launcher.
When we checked the configuration via RSPOR_SETUP Repost on ABAP Stack, everything except the following seems ok.
Status 10: Import Portal Certificate into BI <b>Portal and BW certificate must be different</b>
Status 12: Maintain User Assignment in Portal <b>System failure during call of function module RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST</b>
I think the problem is when we imported the Portal Certificate into BI, as they reside on same system error occurs at step 10.
This is the production system. On Development System, Portal+BI Java are on another server than BI and this problem was not occured.
Does anyone experienced this issue?

Here is the section you've to consider ;
Add-In Installation and importing Certificates with identical system ID (SID)
In case of Add-In installation, the system ID (SID) of
AS-ABAP and AS-Java is identical. This causes problems
during import and certificates, if you are using the
Template Installer. Because the ABAP system does not allow
to import a certificate with identical Distinguished Names (DN) (e.g. identical common names (CN), subject names, ...). Also the standard client of the J2EE must be different from the standard client of the ABAP system.
If the common names are identical, the report RSPOR_SETUP
displays the error message "Portal and BW certificate must be different" (English).
If the client of the Portal certificate is existing in the
ABAP system, the error message "Add-In Installation: check logon.ticket_client (see note 994785)" is diplayed.
This issue could be solved by creating a new Portal
certificate with a different Distinguished Name (DN). The
steps to create a new Portal certificate are described in
the report RSPOR_SETUP documentation of step "Export Portal Certificate to the Portal" (step 9):
1. Delete J2EE certificate (SAPLogonTicketKeypair
and SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert) in Visual Administrator under Services Keystorage
2. Create new J2EE certificate (SAPLogonTicketKeypair with other Distinguished Name) in
Visual Administrator under Services Keystorage (as
described in documentation of step 9 "Export Portal
certificate in Portal", report RSPOR_SETUP)
3. Delete J2EE certificate in certificate list
and access control list (ACL) with transaction STRUSTSSO2
4. Import new J2EE certificate to certificate
list in transaction STRUSTSSO2
5. Add new J2EE certificate to access control
list (ACL) in transaction STRUSTSSO2
See report RSPOR_SETUP documentation of step "Configure User Management in Portal" (step 8) or note 994785 how to
change the standard client of the J2EE.

You can approach both Verisign and Thawte and collect information.
In case of Thawte, you can just go their site and there is an option for an online free chat with a Thawte associate. He/she will then guide you further.
They will also share the details required for the certificate to get authorized.
Plus before ordering, you can also check the correctness of ur certificate for free on their site.

Bala DuvvuriYou may a few issues. SSO with logon tickets is based on accessing web sites in the same domain. So, if the portal is on http://ourportal.company.com, then the web site being accessed needs to have a URL like http://adphosted.company.com. Is the ADP system accessible by a DNS alias that is within company.com? If so, you're OK. If not, then there will be problems.
The other SSO method is user mapping, but the security implications are not good... -

If you are asking how to authorise your iTunes account on that computer, then you do so via the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes (pressing Alt-S should get the Store menu to appear) - this screenshot is from a Mac, but it should be fairly similar on windows 8 :

Yesterday my Firefox seemed to spasm and I believe I had a virus (every time I hit the "home" button which is google.com for me, it would send me to this weird site that I knew wasn't safe). I uninstalled and re-installed Firefox and ran virus scanners but nothing was found. After restarting Firefox, every website that I try to go to is giving me an unsafe error and that I must give each site a security exception, even for safe sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc. Once I did get on Facebook, everything is in HTML format and I can't use it at all I tried restarting/uninstalling/resetting Firefox again but to no avail. If your home page is has been changed, and you don't have any suspicious extensions:

You can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/ Search Reset Tool] to reset your home page, new tab page, and search bar back to default. The extension then uninstalls itself once these preferences are reset.

MFA Server - User portal and mobile app web server should be installed where?
Hi. We are in the process of testing the Multi-Factor Auth server and are currently using it for two-factor authentication to RDS for a couple of users. At the moment we are only using the phone call/text options but I'd like to get the mobile app portion
working to test. Also still need to implement the user self-service portal for testing.
Currently I have a vm that was dedicated to MFA where the Multi-Factor Authentication Server software was installed. Now though I'm a bit confused as to if its safe to install the user portal and mobile app web service portion on this same machine
or if they should go on a different server(s)? Currently the box is internal but I'm guessing if it has also act as the web server we would stick it behind the TMG for external inbound access. Is external access to the primary MFA server ok?
What's the best practice for separation of the MFA roles; or is there none and its fine to just put it altogether?

You have a dedicated MFA server and if you install User Portal on the same server as the MFA Server, it uses RPC to communicate with the MultiFactorAuth service locally.
If the User Portal is installed on a different server, it must connect via the Web Service SDK. You can use either a username/password of a service account that is a member of the PhoneFactor
Admins security group, or you can configure client certificates. If using the username/password, you can encrypt the appSettings section of the web.config file if desired.
Under Inetpub\wwwroot\MultiFactorAuth when you edit the web.config file you need to make sure these values are set.

Creating User in Portal and SAP Backend simultaneously?
Is it possible when you create a new user for the portal (in my case, active Directory is used as central user storage) for SSO, that this user will also be created simultaneously in different SAP Backends without creating it manually everytime? Or is it perhaps possible to connect Active directory to these SAP backends as central user storage, too? My Problem is that everytime I must create manually the users in portal and all belonging SAP backends but I think it's not very comfortable.

There are ways to integrate complete User Management where either SAP or the local LDAP (i.e. MS ADS) drive as the central store for users. Ultimately, the CUA concept can be entirely driven by SAP including the MS ADS ID's for the network. It involves a proposal that is uploaded into the ADS which includes the SAP required schema. When populated (or if configured as such) they can be applied as user properties for the backend systems. There is a tool within R/3 called LDAPSYNCH that allows the replication (either direction) of user data.
This concept is referred to as Identity Management. Start at http://service.sap.com/security. Then go to "Security in Detail" ==> "Secure User Access" ==> "Identity Management". There you can find info/docs on the CUA concept within the SAP landscape as well as the integration into the corporate LDAP.
I have seen most customers use separate R/3 backend User Management from the ADS. I assume that this is due to the complexity of adopting a whole new global user management process with existing "cultured" processes. However the SAP systems can support the entire corporate user management driven from within the R/3 core (HR).

System refresh of only ECC and not Portal and PI in MCOD

Our QA landscape has ECC, Portal and PI installed in separate servers, but belong to the same MCOD DB. Its the same in Production too.
Now we want to refresh just the ECC in QA from ECC in Production. We don't want anything to change in the PI and Portal QA?
How can we do this?

SAP migrated their HR system (of several TB) on a weekend, however, this was highly tuned with lots of test runs in front. I can't say how long it takes, you have to do a run to see and to optimize.

This procedure does not work as soon as Java comes into place. If you copy a system with Java you must use sapinst. Java stores tons of information not in the database (as ABAP) but on the filesystem. Some of the information is synced on startup, some of them are only read on the filesystem.
Especially in case of a PI (which itself is very complex) this does not work.
In any case you would need to (after the full DB copy)
- run sapinst on your QA system to "save" your current state (sapinst Java export for the EP and sapinst Java + ABAP (R3load) export for the PI)
- uninstall PI and EP on the target system
- reinstall EP and PI by using the export you did
but
if you'd do it that way and you have then only a database with your ERP and you reinstall the other two systems anyway I would not do MCOD but two new database installations (so separate the instances).
There is no other way of doing that copy and preserving the other system in an MCOD case, that's one reason why MCOD is no more recommended.

I need to watch reports BI J2ee from an EP 7.00. I have configured the single sign On but it works just for ABAP BI Stack.
This is what I have done for SSO JAVA:
Importing the BI JAVA Certificate to the SAP NetWeaver 2004s Portal (SAP EP 7.0)
1. Start the SAP J2EE Engine Administrator with %INSTALLATION_ROOT%admingo.bat.
2. Connect to the portal server.
3. Choose are the values of and of certificate SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert (see above).
You also have to add these values under evaluate_assertion_ticket:
13. Start the SAP J2EE Engine Administrator with %INSTALLATION_ROOT%admingo.
14. Connect to the portal server.
15. Choose (for example, CN=J2E)

Generate and export the Portal Certificate:
Go to Visual Administrator
Choose <SID> - Server - Services - Key Storage - from the tree Select the view TicketKeystore under Views
If the SAPLogonTicketKeypair exist, delete it.
If the SAPLogonTicketKeypair-cert exist, delete it.
Generate a portal certificate using the following steps:
Under Entry choose Create.
Enter the folowing values in u201CKey and Certificate Generationu201D
Organization Unit Name (OU) = J2EE
Common Name (CN) = <SID>
Entry Name = SAPLogonTicketKeypair
Store Certificate: X
Algorithm: DSA

adjust com.sap.security.core.server.jaas.EvaluateAssertionTicketLoginModule:
Choose <SID> - Server - Services - Security Provider - from the components tree select evaluate_assertion_ticket

restart the ICM in SMICM

SSO b/w portal and webdynpro application customized login??

I have one webdynpro application which has a login screen (Created as Webdynpro view). If user enters user/passord, the same gets checked from a custom table in the db (Method for checking user credtentials has been written in view controller). if user credentials are correct it performs some actions defined in webdynpro application.
I want to configure SSO b/w portal and this webdynpro application sothat when user logon to the portal and open this webdypro application, Login page of webdynpro application should not be shown i.e user credentials should be passed from portal and corresponding authentication method in webdynpro should be called to authenticate the user.
How to do the same without touching webdypro application ?
Can we call a method of webdynpro application from portal?

2)Since you have customized login screen, you need to bypass this screen manually when you login from portal.
Add parameter to the application while defining the iview.Give some constant value.

We made many things in accordance with oracle's documentation until add discoverer portlets (worksheet and list of workbooks) in a test page.

We think we have to edit properties before. Is this? Anyway edit worksheet portlet crashes between step 1 and 2. The error is: "The listener returned the following Message: 500 Internal Server Error".
We have a public conection created in EM and a discoverer application which can be viewed using plus or viewer.

Have you applied any patches to 9ias since it was first installed? We had the same problem and had to apply a couple of patches to get the portlets working.
1. Apply the 9.0.2.53.16 one-off patch for Oracle 9iAS Discoverer which takes Discoverer up to 9.0.2.53.16. This patch appears to be password protected and you need to get someone at Oracle support to give you a password.
2. Apply the Discoverer Portlet Provider: 9.0.2.53.00c patch (patch no. 2595444) which gives you a new discportal.xsl file that actually works. It's this second step that solves your problem but you need to do step 1 before this. This is password protected as well.
3. As you've upgraded Disco on the server to 9.0.2.53, you'll need to upgrade Disco Admin & Desktop within your 9iDS installation using patch no. 2555265. This is because Disco 9.0.2.53 uses an upgraded EUL that Disco Admin & Desktop need to be patched to use.
This was the course of action Oracle support advised us about nine months ago. Of course they may have released a further patch to Disco that does 1 & 2 in one go, but we regularly carry out steps 1 and 2 on servers we use and we can use the Disco portlets successfully.

Background: my iphone 3gs was running wonderfully - no issues at all, as normal.
I let the power run down to critical and got the empty battery screen - plugged it in and when it had enuf juice it displayed the cord-to-itunes-of-death-screen...
I had just backed up the previous to icloud so no worries... I just plugged in and thought ok this will just take a second...it completed the restore then said with a glazed amnesic font "Itunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode, and has never seen or restored this iphone ever before, since this is a stranger iphone, itunes does not trust it and must call the ipolice to check for contraban in its orifices and cavities, you must restore"... kidding of course... but
OMG at home I did the whole restore process no less than 20 times while optimizing and accounting for different variables each time (restoring on a new system with a fresh OS, trying to restore and a mac, restoring then restarting empty cache, restart unistall itunes then restore restart restore, installing an older version of Itunes and restoring. going back to Vista and restoring), and every single time it would complete the check, the update/check, the ios reinstall, and then whatever else and say "complete"... and then no icon menu would appear for the device in itunes so unplug the phone and replug and get the whole "Itunes must render restore aid" message. SO I went to the genuis bar at my local iBoutique thrice - each time the bewildered but very courteous and knowledgable genuis wanted to keep trying ... since I had been on this treadmill for about two weeks I decided each time to respect my fellow appletonians and not suck up genius time... but I really want my old 3gs back... why - I like that it amazes the youth who occaisonal are puzzled by seeing something apple that they don't recognize and in wonder and amazement at its age they learn that even though its no longer invited to iOS family gatherings that it still can call home and ask why Apple waited so long when it was a kid to give it copy-paste ability like all the other kids, then ask for money for the shrink bill.. ... . . ..Soooooooo.... You obviously need to restore the device
It seems that you have tried several options to restore it. What I would do is leave it plugged it and hold down the Home button AND the Power button together till you see the white apple appears. Then let go of the Power button but continue to hold the home button. You should get the message in iTunes again saying that the iPhone needs to be restored. Hit OK then RESTORE.

Portal and Internet Explorer problem
Hi everyone. My problem is that I'm using Portal through the WEB AS Java stack SP09 and i can't update to the newer stacks since I'm on IDES system, so it has to be SP09. Well, my operating system Win 2003 x64 comes with Internet explorer 8 by default.
i have some problems with IE8, Chrome or FireFox when browsing through the Portal, for example, I can't add to the Group "Everyone" End user permissions, because the "ADD" button is greyed out.
I tried to uninstall the IE8, but i can't find the way to do it. I can't remove it through the Control panel (there is no option to remove it)
nor can I do it through the Command Line with %windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe because I don't have the IE8 folder!!
Do you have any ideas on how could i solve it?Thank you guys for the answers, but
1/ I can't upgrade the SP lever, since I'm on IDES system and I don't have any Maintenance Certificates to installa packages, besides the fact that they have to be dowloaded through the Solution manager
2/ I tries the compatibility mode and nothings's changed. The problem I'm having is that when I'm in the Portal and do a right-click for example in PortalContent > landscapesystem > SAP_BW. it opens the Internet Explorer menu and not the Portal's, so I can't choose "new" or "open" or "permissions" and when i doble click it the drop-down menu that appears where I could choos the same options is too narrow and empty.....
i donwgraded finally the IE to the IE7 version, but no luck either. i tried to install the IE6, but there is no IE6 version for x64 bits systems.
Any other suggestions? How could i make this context menu available?
