Portal and Delegated Administrator for Messaging

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has managed to get the iPlanet Messaging server Delegated Admin working properly with the portal gateway.
In particular - was anyone able to adjust the gateway rewrite rules to prevent the gateway only from appending to the URL's in the left control frame? We have tried various rewriting combinations but none have worked so far. A rewrite of the hRefStr variable comes close does not work as it does not handle the escape character "\" properly and appends extra info as well. The URLs turn out like the following example:
https://gateway.com/http://portal.com/servlet/"/servlet/getPage?op=createMLM&mode=edit"
If anyone has suggestions on how to overcome this it would be greatly appreciated.

Can you tell the version of Portal Server that you use. There are some known issues with SP2, and it is rectified in sp3. Or else this should be an issue with iPlanet Delegated Admin.
Thanks,

  • Delegated Admin for Messaging does not run properly

    Hi, my environment is:
    iDS5.1, iMS5.2, iCS5.1 and Delegated Admin for Messaging 1.2.
I have installed all the components and it seems to run fine, but when I log on to the Delegated Admin I cna't see the frame in the middle of the browser window. An error appears that "The page cannot be displayed".
I had a look in the error log of the WebServer to see what might happen and I saw the following error message:

Does anyone can give me hint what this might be?

Why is anybody installing 3-year old software today?
The error message implies that not all installation steps were done correctly. The most common problem is that when ims_dssetup.pl is run, the entries there are not correct for what you intend to put in during Messaging install...

With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

Yesterday,I could.Given that you have provided nothing in the way of usable information to isolate the problem I can only suggest restarting your directory server (assuming it hasn't crashed) then restarting the web-container hosting Access Manager and see if that fixes the problem.
If not, you will have to look further into the web-server logs and the directory server logs to see why the problem is occurring.

  • Manage subscription, billing and Co-Administrator for Azure Account

    Hi All,
I am new to Azure, I have Windows Azure account.
My requirement is like I will create multiple subscriptions under my account for individual clients, I will add clients as Co-Administrators for each Subscription, I have my payment information for paying to Azure and for subscriptions also
I will pay from my account. I want to make clients able to see their billing information, so my questions about this scenario are:
    1. Does Co-Administrator needs password of Azure Account to logging in to https://manage.windowsazure.com or https://account.windowsazure.com/Subscriptions?
    2. Can each Co-Administrator check his/her subscription from https://account.windowsazure.com/Subscriptions and is able to see his/her billing information?
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks, Dilip

    Hi Dilip,
    Thanks for posting here.
    Appreciate your interest on Azure.
It is not possible to buy multiple subscriptions for the single account meaning single LIVE ID .  You may buy multiple subscriptions with same account holder but you need to have different Live ID for every subscription.
You can add users as co-administrators for a subscription using their Microsoft account or organizational account. To do this, you must be a co-administrator or the Service Administrator for the subscription yourself, and you should be designated as a global
administrator in the directory for the subscription. Adding co-administrators using organizational accounts is recommended
See Add a co-administrator to an Azure subscription for more details.
For both of your questions above : Co-administrator will not have access to view  Account information by co-admin's credentials. The only options is to view the account information is by using account owners credentials.
For further details, you may contact Billing team via
http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/options/ , select get support and select the support type as billing.
    Hope this helps.

  • Integrate PI and TIBCO together for message exchange

    Hello All,
We have an environment where we need to integrate SAP-ECC with a 3rd party CRM system using PI and TIBCO.
So the data flow would be ECC>PI>TIBCO-->CRM system and vice versa.
I wanted to know if anyone here has done this before.
If yes, would you be able to help me with the following:
    1. Which adapter can we use to integrate the 2 middlewares.
    2. If anyone has used this before, are there any known issues
    3. Based on SDN search it is suggested to use SOAP adapter for PI TIBCO integration - can someone confirm if we can use both synchronous as well as asynchronous methods in SOAP adapter.
    Any other inputs are welcome.
    Many thanks
    SK

    Hi,
I wanted to know if anyone here has done this before
Yes, someone has done this before
    1. Which adapter can we use to integrate the 2 middlewares.
HTTP or SOAP can be used.
    2. If anyone has used this before, are there any known issues
No issues as such, that I noticed. But do consider the security between the two systems, data size, Monitoring, Message processing etc.
    3. Based on SDN search it is suggested to use SOAP adapter for PI TIBCO integration - can someone confirm if we can use both synchronous as well as asynchronous methods in SOAP adapter.
Yes, SOAP (& HTTP) is the most common adapter between these two middleware tools, for both async and sync processing.

  • Memory and CPU Allocation for Messaging Device

    Hey Everyone.
I'm writing a code for a UDP-based controller right now.  The gyst of the code is that it takes in command inputs, writes it to a UDP message, and passes this message to aconditioning unit.  The conditioning unit passes a message back ensuring that it received the initial prompt.  This happens at a rate of 1 Message per 2000 us, back and forth.  My problem with this system is that when other, additional programs are launched upon the same computer (the HOST) the message rate drops and they system initiates a shut down.  The new programs are not wire-communication based.
Are there any practical ways to reduce data/memory usage within this program?
    Attached is my current code.
    Attachments:
    HostControler.vi ‏72 KB

I agree with what nathand has said - it's almost impossible to get accurate timing from a Windows OS and anything the computer decides to run in the background (defragment, anti-virus scan, some scheduled service, launching another program) will have an impact on the reliability of the timing.
There are things you can do to reduce it (stopping all unnecessary services, running your application as higher priority) but Windows really isn't designed for determinism so you wouldn't really be able to eliminate it.
If you need deterministic timing you need to think about using a Real Time OS. Otherwise you'll need to make your timing requirements more relaxed as in try to send a message every 2ms but don't shutdown the system unless you don't receive a message for 500ms.

  • Delegating administration for several primary sites

    Hi everybody again!
Could you tell me, can one primary site admin help out in managing clients to other primary site admin. I've noticed that altought i granted him access to that site collection he could see only it's count not members....

I understand that deployment will bring up to all of these collections members.....but i won't see them in collections, it will not be able to use remote tools, resource explorer and etc....How should we work with other site collection members till we can't
see them?)))) I thought that RBA model makes users to work (i mean visibility of that computer resources) with any resources in hierarchy not in primary site only...
Torsten, you've made discuss about that here:

  • Assign a message store partition using delegated administrator

    Hi!
i'm using messaging server and delegated administrator that comes in the JES Q5 2005 i'd like to assing the message store partition to the user when i create their account but i can't see any option to do that using delegated administration console. Is there a way to do that.?
In older delegated administrator versions i could do that.
    Thanks in advance

It does appear that the current DA does not have this capability. There is a RFE for it in place.
At present, the only options you have are to:
    1. Use comm-admin to change the partition
    or
    2. Use ldapmodify or Console to make the change in Directory.

  • Portal theme not picked for SAP Web Dynpro Iview

    Hi,
We have used light framework page for our portal and all the iviews display the content within the iviews in the same set of colors (blue for buttons). However, for a WD java content, I have created an SAP Web Dynpro iView and the contents displayed here appear in the SAP colors without picking those set for the portal.
The same application parameters display the portal colors when we use the Web Dynpro Proxy iview.
Any idea how I can make the SAP Web Dynpro iView appear like the other portal iviews?
Note: The stylesheet property for the iview is already entered (ur), and I have also set the 'Supply Portal stylesheet' property to 'Yes'.
    Please provide your inputs.
    Thanks,
    Vinay

    Hi ,
In ABAP Webdynpro for similar problem we used WDFORCEEXTERNAL Sheet property of WDA.
The Web Dynpro framework automatically compares the versions of the portal and Web Dynpro
for ABAP style sheets. If the Web Dynpro for ABAP has a newer version, the WDA style sheet is used. This avoids unattractive rendering and JavaScript errors. You can deactivate this behavior again using the WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET application parameter of WDA.See also SAP Notes 1033496 .
If you use the stylesheet of the portal to display the application, the rendering may not appear correctly and Javascript errors can occur(If portal style sheet is lower than WD).
Though Iam not familiar with WD java , the property force portal style sheet in WD java application should be enough to make WD accept portal theme.

  • Using Mail, Calendar and Delegated Admin

Ive installed mail, calendar and delegated admin for one of the domains Im hosting.
I cant figure out where I can adjust the settings for service packages ex earth. Id like to have 60 mb mail box in stead of 6. (Changing this on user level in LDAP is not an option.)
Any one who can give me some tips about where to change this?
    Tnx.
    Kristian

Sounds like you need to change one of your Service Package templates. Alas, I've not had time to dive into that.
There is a default config setting for quota, that's global. If you set that, and don't put anything into the user's individual ldap entries, then everybody gets that quota:
    store.defaultmailboxquota

  • Single directory Server for Messaging and Portal

We are trying to unify our directory services.
At present, there two directory servers, one for iPlanet messaging 5.2 and another for Portal server 6.0.
Messaging's Directory server is v5.1 and Portal's Directory server is v5.2. Their BaseDN is same.
Now, What we are planning to do is as below.
    1. LDIF everything from Msgr Directory and import into Portal's Directory.
    2. Point Msg Server to the Portal's directory.
But, we are not sure what to export or how to tell messaging server to look at the Portal's Directory. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks
    Srini

What you are trying to do is non-trivial.
Setting the ldap server for user and groups on the mail server is easy enough -- look at the output of configutil and you will find the values of local.ugldap*
define the values you need to change.
    e.g.:
    local.ugldapbasedn
    local.ugldapbindcred
    local.ugldapbinddn
    local.ugldaphost
    local.ugldapport
    etc.
These are all listed in the messaging reference manual.
You need to ensure that the schemas of the two apps. match. For example, if you are using schema 1 for mail and schema 2 for the portal (quite likely), there will be a lot more work to do on the directory than simply moving the user entries accross and merging them.
Unless you have done this sort of thing before, or feel very comfortable and knowlegable about how the messaging server in partuicular works with LDAP, I would suggest that you seriously consider getting help from Sun Professonal Services.

    Babu

    Hi Babu,
I have some tests in my environment using Exchange 2013, you can create a transport rule such as follows to achieve your goal.
Hope this can be helpful to you.
