Portal Blueprint please help

Hi EP guru,
I was never involve on working with a blueprint before, so i don't know where to start. Could someone please be kind and send me an example of the EP blueprint.

Need help with Portal Themes -- Please help

I need help with Portal Themes. I have read every document I can find but I am having no luck. All I want to do is change the colors for the Exceptions on one of my queries. I have created my own Portal Theme where I have changed the colors but I do not know how to assign my newly-created Portal Theme to my query. Can someone please give me the detailed steps on how to do this? Please help because this is driving me crazy.

New To WL Portal Server - Please Help!!

Hi-
I practially started reading about WL Portal server this morning and I
do not even have an installation accesssible to me. But, I need to
figure out a quick thing and I am pretty sure that it is staraight
forward, but due to my ignorance with WL Portal server & portlets, I
am posting for some getting help and direction..
I have 2 portlets (PortletA and PortletB) on a page. Portlet A has
links (news.html, aboutus.html etc). Once the user clicks on one of
the links on PortletA, the contents of the links should be displayed
in PortletB. (Similar to frames)...
Can some one please point me in the right direction, how to do it? I
will keep looking.

Your problem lies with the code. You have tried to use the System.setSecurityManager in the applet. Applet unlike standalone application run inside an environment such as a browser, therefore it does not allow to create the security manager. If u do not use System.setSecurityManager(new RMISecurityManager()) u will get the RMI classloader disabled error at the client side. So the solution to this is add the setSecurityManager to the server program

XML toolkit or XERCES + XALAN in portal component Please HELP

Hello,
is there anybody that has succesfully used xalan and xerces in a portal component?
I have an application that requires them but have found no way to have them working in the restricted classloader area of portal component developed in java.
Best case my portal component still uses xml toolkit, worst case, when I try to add them as j2ee or irj libraries, portal does not even boot.
Help needed !

Victor, Xavier is right.
I have already tried that but does not work. Classloader still finds SAP XML Toolkit factory. I also tried forcing System properties but things go even worst: it affects portal behaviour.
The only working way seems to be to load the parser implementation directly instead from the default factory but this is far from being a clean way.
Any suggestion to ensure my PDK will see Default factories from xerces and xalan and keep off from XMLToolkit?

Issue with Value Help not showing in Portal screen Please Help

Hello Guru's,
What is the best practice for doing ESS/MSS upgrade.
Since everytime we upgrade the BP we need to redo all the customizations again in the new track and deploy.
I have gone through Note 872892 and read the NWDI cookbook.
I feel there should be some tool (which will tell the differences in Code from one track to other if so how to install and where to install?) or a better way to apply the customizations to the new track when we upgrade the ESS/MSS components.
Appreciate your help.

MS Azure - Can Logon says Free Trial Active But I cant get into portal , Please help ?

Last Week I subscribed to the free trial of MS AZURE ,
created an account , used a credit crd , got confirmation from MS Azure,

I logged in and was able to go to portal no problem.
Today I log in but cant get access to portal.
Get I have no Subscription but when on Subscriptions it says Free Trial , Your free trial expires in 26 days.

I see that you are trying to log into the accounts portal. Please try logging into the management portal ( Old azure portal ) / Ibiza portal ( New Azure Portal ) using the below links.

I'm a newbie in weblogic portal, so much documents for me on Oracle's website, but I didn't know where 's startup? please help on this :)
1. Weblogic Portal: I could connect to jdbc datasource (using ms sqlserver 2005) and created database successfully. But I didn't how to my application can get data (from database), e.g. using portlet to connect? I'm really need to help to get data from db, and display it, please help understand it.
2. I had a existing struts1 project (spring + struts1 + hibernate + ms sqlserver), this project could connect and get data from database. And I implemented the following guide on oracle's website, but I faced with so much problem, please help me clearly on integration struts1 in weblogic portal, what's required? if can, please step by step.

Please help: Portal masthead destroyed

Dear portal experts,
in great est humbleness I admit that I have messed up the masthead (in EP7) and have no clue how to repair it. This will teach me....
However - could someone please help me repair the masthead?
I have a functioning Quality-System where everything works fine. I now need to copy/transport/deploy the com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead application back to the development system, where I have destroyed it.
When I log on to the portal, the masthead iview is not displayed, but an error message appears there. the rest of the portal works.
I have no NWDS so how can I transport/copy the masthead from Quality to the Dev system ?
here is how i destroyed it: According to some SDN blog I tried to change the masthead header.jsp slightly. I downloaded the .par from the portal, unzipped it, changed the jsp, and then uploaded it again in system admin>support>portal runtime-->admin console. the file had the name "com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par".
That was it, it doesn't work now. If I check the deployment in the admin console with the "archive deployment checker", I see that the local version and repository version are in status undefined.
As you have probably assumed I am not a Java-savvy person and should better not have put my fingers on that issue...
Please could you give me a hint on either how to repair the masthead or how to re-import/transport/copy the masthead from the quality system, where it still works.

Hi,
1. Download the par file from System Admin -> Support -> Runtime from your quality portal.
2. Upload the quality par to development portal.System Admin -> Support -> Runtime->admin console, you can see upload , select the par and upload. Before that you have to decide whether you want standard one or custom one.
3.If you want custom one - rename the par to your own name like custom masthead like that.
4. Then once you upload, if you uploaded the stand name , it will replace the existing one.
else, go to PCD, create an iview using the custom masthead.
5. the iview has to be added as delta link for your Framework Page.
6. Thats it , now you will have new masthead for your development portal.

Error during import. Please HELP!

Hello All,
We want to export / import some page groups and are faced with the following situation.
We were able to get the transport set of the page group from the source and create the dmp file using the command:
File.cmd -mode export -s portal -p <portal_schema_pwd> -c iasdb -d pqr.dmp
We also created the transport set in the target system by executing the command:
File.cmd -mode export -s portal -p <portal_schema_pwd> -c iasdb -d pqr.dmp -pu <portal-user id> -pp <portal password>
Browsing through to see the transport sets, we could see the status of the created transport set to be "EXTRACT_COMPLETE"
But when we tried to import it, the status changes to MERGE_FAILED and the log shows: MAPPING NOT FOUND AT PAGE ID:xxxx SITE ID:yyyy.
We are not using any web providers. All are DB providers. Our page groups do not share any object. And we are using release 9.0.2 .
Someone must have come across this error. Please help.

I am working with XI Developers and Basis Team and we did updated all the Required Exchange profile parameters.
Per this Document - User Authorizations in Integration Builder Tools - Do we need to update the server.lockauth.activation in Exchange Profile. When We updated, It removed Edit Access from all XI Developers in PI
In both the Integration Repository and the Integration Directory, you can define more detailed authorizations that restrict access to design and configuration objects.
In both tools, you define such authorizations by choosing Tools ® User Roles from the menu bar. The authorization for this menu option is provided by role SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR_J2EE. Of course, this role should only be granted to a very restricted number of administrators. To activate these more detailed authorizations, you must set exchange profile parameter com.sap.aii.ib.server.lockauth.activation to true.
The access authorizations themselves can be defined at the object-type level only (possibly restricted by a selection path), where you can specify each access action either individually as Create, Modify, or Delete for each object type, or as an overall access granting all three access actions.

Hello,
so to give you status of our issue.
We were able to export missing business component .
But we also exported some interfaces after that and we had some return code 8, due to objects still present in change list on quality system (seems after previous failed transports , the change list was not cleared completley...).
So now we have checked that no objects is present in the change list of quality system and we plan to export again our devs on quality system.
Hope after that no more return code 8 during imports and all devs transported correctly on quality system.
Also recommending to read that, which is pretty good.

Access denied error for BW Report iView..Please help :(

Hello All,
I have created a BW Report iView..containing a Bex query.
Have created the required BW system object too.
When I preview this iView, it asks me for BW system authentication....since am not mapped to this BW system.
Its alright till here......
Problem:
Now, when I copy paste the URL (URL generated when you preview this iView) into a new browser window, I get an error saying:

See the details for the exception ID in the log file "
I checked tha bove mentioned log and it says:
Permission check failed - Object <iView path> Pcd.Use Principal: Information not available with current trace level#
Changed the iView authentication scheme to every value present but it did not resolve.
Please help me resolve this.

When trying to open any of the 4 apps in Adobe Creative Suite Design Standard I own outright, , I am unable to use the software and instead am being prompted to "Renew your Subscription to Creative Cloud". Please help me

I have purchased and used Adobe Products for 25+ years and I own CS6 Design Standard outright.
I had previously subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud but did not renew the annual subscription.
The CS6 Design Standard serial number is listed in my Adobe user account. I have run the the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaning tool, uninstalled the Adobe Creative Cloud App and all other CC apps from my iMac. I reinstalled fresh copies of the CS6 software two different times, first from my CS6 DVD disk and then from the Adobe Download page. During each installation of CS6, all seemed to run normally and I was prompted to enter the license number and it was accepted. However, when trying to open the software after completing the installation, I am being prevented from doing so without renewing the Creative Cloud subscription.
Who knows of a solution to this problem?
Contacting Adobe’s Chat support and Customer Support portal has not resulted in a solution, even though they have confirmed the license number as being accurate and linked to my account. After weeks of waiting on their responses, yesterday I was told to go to the Forums to find a solution….Please Help Me….Thanks

 I have a ABAP report that contains a selection screen with 3 select-option elements and a search button. On pressing search button an ALV grid opens with data from a SAP table based on selection screen criteria.
I want to web enable it so that it can be accessed from Enterprise Portal. i will be using IAC iview in Portal.
Now the IAC iview needs my ABAP report to be ported to ITS?
1.How to port it to ITS? What are the steps?
2.In order to port in to ITS do I need to change my ABAP code?
3.Are there any known limitations of porting ABAP reports in ITS? For example Performance, ALV not supported, Table control not supported etc.
4. Does it handle dynamic programming?
5. Are there any documentation for porting report to ITS?
6. How much time effort it will be for porting ABAP reportys to ITS?
To add some more points. SAP transaction iview is not allowed in my organization. Webdynpro/BSP is also not supported. Thats why I am using IAC iview which needs ITS.

hi,
step1.create a transaction for ABAPreport in SE93.
step2.Go to transaction SICF and create a service in the following path sap/bc/gui/sap/its.
Check the following Url to create a service.

step3. create a system object setting the following property categories.
 1.Connector
 2.Usermanagement
 3.ITS
 4.WAS
In the usermanagement do the user mapping.
step4. While creating an IAC iview, in the third step for the Internet Application Component (IAC) property give the service name you have created in SICF.
you need not change the abap code. The only limitation while porting abap report in ITS is you cannot view the icons in the tool bar, instead you view the buttons.
ALV is supported. Functionality wise nothing will change except the appearance mainly with the icons.
