  • Collaboration  with vendor  via Portal?

    Hi everyone :
       I meet a problem about collaboration with vendor. Our customer has lots of vendor ,and our customer expect that their vendor could query related R/3 report real-time via Portal on Internet .
       I had done the SSO between Portal and R/3, and the user who had Portal user and R/3 both  could access R/3 via Portal easily. We can create user for vendor in Portal easily, but it is impossible that we create user for all of vendors in R/3 , because of R/3 user need to pay for license. So vendors could not query R/3 report via Portal now .
        My problem :
        1. Vendors can't query R/3 report via Portal now.
    Is there anyone met this problem ever , and How to solve this problem ?
        2.On the assumption that our vendor can query R/3 report via Portal now, how can we control the authorization that certain vendor could query his data only, can't query other vendor's data ?
        Any advice and discuss is welcome!

  • How to display links in a text-field in Portal forms?

    In a database the content in a varchar2 field could include a link:
    'Shortname <a ref="#" title="Full or long item name">Long name</a>'
    In a Portal report this field is displayed like:
    Shortname {color:#0000ff}_Long name_
    {color}
    where the last part is a link. When pointing to this link with the mouse, the full item name is displayed. If this field is displayed in a Portal form, however, it is displayed exactly as written first:
    Shortname <a ref="#" title="Full or long item name">Long name</a>
    Could anybody tell how this field could be displayed as a link in Portal forms? The field itself does not need to be updated, it serves as an identifier for trailing fields in the details of a MD-form. If the long name should be displayed in the field, you would need to scroll horizontal to see the other details.

    Yes your point is clearer now. You wish to see an abridged form of a field data with the facility to see the full data when you hover on that data. just like what we see sometimes in hyperlinks.
    Both of the methods I told you work to display a modified data value* (without modifying them in the databse) and I floated them after testing. Have used slightly different functionalities in some applications a while back.
    To get the 'mouse hover' display, you may want to use the java-script event-handlers of the form elements.
    Both methods work with the premise that we do not want to change field data in DB; only displayed-data needs to be different.
    1. The idea to edit info using sql-queries or functions from default value attribute work is the main thing. how and what should we edit the data to produce is a plsql-coding problem. So for instance, for a data example like yours, the following works!
    assumption: the desired field is LINKS and is a column in PORTAL.TBL_TEST_FORMLINKS
    SELECT DECODE(LINKS, NULL,NULL,SUBSTR(LINKS,INSTR(LINKS,'>','1')+1, LENGTH(LINKS)-INSTR(LINKS,'<','2'))) FROM PORTAL.TBL_TEST_FORMLINKS
    If you need a different output or have a different requirement, then the example should be sufficient to guide you how to help yourself.
    2. The other case of javascript embedded html in an additional plsql code also works. One such example is this:
    <pre>
    BEGIN
    HTP.PRINT('<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript1.1">
    // find the element you want to edit first;
    // hint: you may use this scheme and some basic jscript to extract the field LINKS : FORM_NAME.DEFAULT.LINKS.01
    // now use javascript to get its value; treat it to fit your requirement; and equate it back to the LINKS element;
    </SCRIPT>');
    EXCEPTION
    When Others THEN
    null;
    END;
    </pre>
    -- now follow my other instruction on FORM attributes in my second reply to see what you want to see.
    these hints should be more than enough for anyone familiar with these technologies.

  • Portal Upgrade Failure

    Hi!
    I ran the portal upgrade script against a copy of my production database to bring it up from 3.0.8.9.8 to 3.0.9. About an hour after the script was running, the database abruptly came down. When I looked in the altert log, there were numerous ORA-07445, ORA-12805 and ORA-00600 errors that only materialized after this upgrade script started running. It filled my system up with thousands of trace files and core subdirectories which I had to delete but the filesystem never filled up. Now I can open the database but it won't stay open for very long before it abruptly shuts down. Here's a startup from my alert log:

    I am running Oracle 8.1.7, 9iAS 1.0.2.0.1 (have a separate 1.0.2.2 which I'll point to the upgraded portal), and Solaris 2.7. There were no errors in the alert log before I started the upgrade script.
    Has anyone else upgrading just their portal from 3.0.8.9.8 to 3.0.9 experienced this difficulty. Thank GAWD this wasn't my prod portal...
    Much thanks for any reply....Kate

    Thank you Bob! My problem turned out to be that the database backup I used to restore a database copy was actually taken outside of my backup window before the database was shutdown. I should have known that using the init profile allowcorrupted_logs was a harbinger of worse things. Anyway, since the database was completely destroyed by the upgrade script, I used the next week's backup to restore a copy of the databse -- this time with much better results. The upgrade script worked fine after this.
    Thanks for the heads up on the bug though. It will probably be useful. Thanks again.

  • ISE Guest Portal and one more SSID using internal accounts

    Hi Guys,
    I have two SSIDs on WLC, the first is related with ISE Guest Portal and the second is related with employee but i realize that the
    Guest user can access the employee SSID and employee accounts can access the Guest portal page.
    I guess this is happen because i cannot split these databases under "Internal Users" on Authentication Policy.
    How can i restrict the access even if i am using the internal databse?
    thanks a lot

    using the Authorization policy is the right way.  Match the corp ID store to the corp WLAN SSID ID in the AuthZ policy, for example (where Employee is your corp ID store and yyyy is the name of your corp SSID):

  • How to access the portal database ?

    Hi ,
    1. How to access the portal database from an abstract portal component program ?
    2. How to insert data to the Table from the abstract portal component program ?
    Please provide me some direction to proceed .
    plz send me the steps how to access the Database using SQL.
    Thanks

    Edited by: Smita Mohanty on Nov 14, 2008 9:21 AM

    Hi Smita,
    In case your portal has MS SQL server as its databse, then I am giving the step by step directions to achieve 90% of what you wish to do. Rest 10% you can try on your own.
    Go through my article given below:
    [How to Create a Web Service using Enterprise JavaBeans|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/b00917dc-ead4-2910-3ebb-b0a63e49ef10]
    First go through pages 1-12 which will help you to create user/table in MS SQL database as well as create a data source in Visual Admin. Page 19 will give you the code which you can use in your Portal component to access the tables you have created in your SQL database.
    I hope your problem gets solved.
    Bye

  • I got the following error when I try to logon to oracle portal.WWC-41439:

    Hi,
    I got WWC-41439 error.Message is "You can't logon becuase there is no configuration information stored in ranabler confoguration table.
    Any solution?
    Regards,
    TLN Reddy.

    I got WWC-41439 error.Message is "You cannot login because there is no configuration information stored in the enabler configuration table. (WWC-41439)"I was having a similar problem. Assuming you are using R2 (really a 1.0 product - thanks marketing) here is what was going on in my case.
    I have Infrastructure on host_01.domainName and Portal on host_01.domainName (what Oracle calls the "Mid_Tier" even though the Portal Installation took place on host_02).
    Here is the error and the solution:
    If I goto http://host_02.domainName:7778/pls/orasso/orasso.home which is the "Access Partner Applications" page and then try to login - get the WWC-41439 error just like you.
    If you'll notice the login URL is
    http://host_02.domainName:7777/pls/orasso/ORASSO.wwsec_app_priv.login?p_requested_url=http%3A%2F%2Fhost_02.domainName%3A7777%2Fpls%2Forasso%2FORASSO.home&p_cancel_url=http%3A%2F%2Fhost_02.domainName%3A7777%2Fpls%2Forasso%2FORASSO.home
    Now if you click on the "The SSO Server (orasso)" hyperlink and then click-on the login URL - the url will be
    http://host_01.domainName:7777/pls/orasso/ORASSO.wwsec_app_priv.login?p_requested_url=http%3A%2F%2Fhost_01.domainName%3A7777%2Fpls%2Forasso%2FORASSO.home&p_cancel_url=http%3A%2F%2Fhost_01.domainName%3A7777%2Fpls%2Forasso%2FORASSO.home
    This works because ORASSO is a schema located in the databse on host_01.domainName.

  • Run RDF with only PORTAL authentiaction & without DB authentiaction

    HI
    I am runnning an rdf report as a component on a portal web page and it works great except that the users need to give databse authentication info,to run the report,even though they have logged in as portal users. Is there any way I can get away from this.

    Benjamin,
    thanks for your reply. Does this mean that there's defnitely no other way and one MUST use SAP NW Portal in order to run a SAP BPM application (at least with the current release)?

  • HOW TO SET UP PARTNER APPLICATION TO USE SSO OUTSIDE OF PORTAL

    If anyone knows how Portal switches context to run as the db user mapped to the lightweight schema and how it knows the db schema password please let me know.
    Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me on 07775 896738.
    From document Oracle Portal Security Overview on PortalStudio.oracle.com:
    In Single Sign On mode (EnableSSO=Yes in the DAD), mod_plsql determines the name of the light-weight user and mapped database schema by calling
    WPG_SESSION_PRIVATE.GET_LW_USER and WPG_SESSION_PRIVATE.GET_DB_USER respectively.
    ** These calls are done using the Portal Schema (PORTAL30) and Portal schema password **
    mod_plsql then executes the procedure in the requested URL by using the N-Tier Authentication feature to connect to the database as the user returned from
    WPG_SESSION_PRIVATE.GET_DB_USER. ..... Note that N-Tier Authentication requires all schemas to be used for Portal user mappings to be granted 'connect
    through' privleges to the Portal schema (PORTAL30).
    The WWCTX packages are also used.
    So this is how it works with standard Portal
    - the document states that the WPG_SESSION_PRIVATE package is only accessible to the Portal schema
    - but I checked and it is also available to PORTAL30_SSO
    SQL> desc WPG_SESSION_PRIVATE
    PROCEDURE CREATE_SESSION
    Argument Name Type In/Out Default?
    P_COOKIE_NAME VARCHAR2 IN
    FUNCTION GET_DB_USER RETURNS VARCHAR2
    FUNCTION GET_LW_USER RETURNS VARCHAR2
    PROCEDURE GET_SESSION_INFO
    Argument Name Type In/Out Default?
    NUM_PARAMS NUMBER OUT
    PARAM_NAMES TABLE OF VARCHAR2(32000) OUT
    PARAM_VALUES TABLE OF VARCHAR2(32000) OUT
    PROCEDURE RESET_SESSION
    Argument Name Type In/Out Default?
    P_COOKIE_NAME VARCHAR2 IN
    In my case only the Login Server (PORTAL30_SSO) is going to be used/installed
    - the SAMPLE_SSO_PAPP application will only work if the DAD used to access is it set to use Basic authentication, i.e. the actual integration with the Login Server
    is done in the sample application code calls, stored in the database
    - when a DAD has enableSSO=yes it automatically accesses Portal (PORTAL30) packages to implement N-Tier authentication
    I'm currently testing:
    1. Configuring the SAMPLE_SSO_PAPP sample as documented with a DAD with Basic authentication
    2. Amending the ssoapp procedure to set context to another (db) user on successful authentication:
    wwctx_api.set_context (
    p_user_name => 'SCOTT',
    p_password => 'TIGER' );
    3. If this works then set_context with get_lw_user instead
    I have now amended the ssoapp procedure as follows to print out
    1. The userid entered when the login box is presented
    2. The Database user which the Portal Lightweight user is mapped to
    3. The Lightweight user Portal has used for authentication
    Amendments to papp.pkb:
    (ssoapp procedure, declare db_user_info and lw_user_info as VARCHAR2 in declare section)
    htp.p('Congratulations! It is working!<br>');
    db_user_info := wwctx_api.get_db_user;
    lw_user_info := wwctx_api.get_user;
    htp.p('User Information:' || l_user_info || '<br>');
    htp.p('DB User Information:' || db_user_info || '<br>');
    htp.p('LW User Information:' || lw_user_info || '<br>');
    The following shows the interesting results from my testing:
    - if the user owning the sample_sso_papp package is PORTAL30_SSO then the call to wwctx_api.get_db_user succeeds
    - if the user owning the sample_sso_papp package is a non-portal schema e.g. SSOAPP below the call to wwctx_api.get_db_user generates a User Defined exception
    Steps to test:
    Created new schema SSOAPP on the database
    - edited it in Portal and checked the use this schema for Portal users checkbox
    - created new Lightweight user SSO_LW in Portal, mapped it to SSOAPP schema
    - created new Lightweight user SSO_SCOTT in Portal, mapped to SCOTT schema
    - loadjava -user ssoapp/ssoapp@portal30 SSOHash.class
    - sqlplus portal30/portal30@portal30
    @provsyns ssoapp
    - sqlplus ssoapp/ssoapp@portal30
    @loadsdk.sql
    @loadpapp.sql
    Created DAD with basic authentication SAMPLE_SSO_PAPP
    - username: ssoapp
    - default home page: sample_sso_papp.ssoapp
    Registered the Sample SSO Partner Application with the Login Server and ran regapp.sql
    Commented out the calls to get_db_user in papp.pkb to avoid exception
    - called http://<server>/pls/sample_sso_papp
    - logged on as SSO_LW/sso_lw
    - got output:
    Congratulations! It is working!
    User Information: SSO_LW
    LW User Information: PUBLIC
    So the Portal lightweight user is not returned as SSO_LW
    if anyone knows why the Lightweight User in my test is returned as PUBLIC not SSO_LW
    Best Regards

  • SSO to ECC (without java stack), BI (on NetWeaver), & Portal

    I have a client that wants to configure their SAP systems in such a way so that the users sign onto their Windows workstations, are authenticated by Windows Active Directory and from then on they can sign on directly to an ECC ABAP instance, a BI instance, and an SAP Portal without having to supply a user/password combination again. (We already have SSO setup for users access some BI reports through the Portal, but in this case we want to setup direct access to the ECC and BI systems without necessarily going through the Portal environment).
    The servers are running HP-UX, the clients Windows XP, and the AD system is running under Windows 2003.
    Is this possible without using a third-party tool and if so,can anyone point me to the appropriate documentation (I've done a lot of searching, but can't find anything).
    Thanks in advance!

    I am sure this has been done before and often discussed here?
    Take a look in the FAQ thread at the top of the forum for a general overview discussion of SSO. If you keep an eye out for the note numbers, terms used and those folks who contributed to it when searching, then I am sure will find plenty of infos to start with.
    Specific vendor evaluation details and comparisons (outside of the technical realm) are generally not provided, as the 3rd parties are generally competitors...
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Partner application access to portal login info

    How can an SSO partner application (Java) tell whether or not a user has logged in to Portal?
    I need to log activity in a public application servlet, so I'd like to log the user as PUBLIC if not logged in or as their actual userid.
    I don't seem to have access to this info until the user has visited a secure part of the app.
    Any pointers would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    DIY answer ...
    The cludge I used to get round this was ...
    Make a PL/SQL item which displays a Login or Logout link as appropriate, based on the current userid from portal.wwctx_api.get_user.
    The login link goes to a secure portal page called FORCE_LOGIN, passing a URL parameter called nextPageURL which contains the URL of the next page to show after the login is complete. You can use portal.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value( '_pageid', 'a'); to help build the current page URL if you want to retun to the current page.
    The FOIRCE_LOGIN page contains a PL/SQL item which builds an IFRAME whos src is a URL to my app servlet ForceLoginServlet, passing on the nextPageURL parameter. Use portal.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value( 'nextPageURL', 'a'); to help with that.
    The ForceLoginServlet is a secure servlet (set up in web.xml) so that forces a silent authentication to my app. All the servlet does is display HTML to redirect back to the URL in nextPageURL.
    Horrible! But it does the job.
    Anyone who know a better way of doing this, please tell me.
