Portal Drive Connection Issue

Hello,
I am using Portal 7.0 SP16.
I setup Portal Drive in my local system. I am able to connect to a folder in km repository for a machine having only one portal instance.
But when I tried to connect to folder for a machine having two or more portal instance, it is not able to connect.
I tried all the machine with only one portal instance and it works fine but it doesn't connect for machine having more than one portal instance.
Any help would be great to resolve this issue. I am getting error like:
" server is currently experiencing a problem connecting users. Please try later."
regards,
Jaish

Hi,
Please check the below link.

Please make sure your portal drive is installed properly and the configuration settings and you are using the supported version for your system.

  • Portal Drive Authentication Issue

    Hi Folks,
    I have installed the Portal Drive on my Desktop. It works quite good except the authentication of my user-id.
    This means, whenever I connect to a KM folder that can be accessed by "Everyone", everything works well. All functionalities are proper. If I cange a document, I can see that the user is "Guest".
    But whenever I try to connect a KM Folder, in which the Access Rights are set only to my user, then the Authentication fails.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance

  • Hard Drive Connection Issue on MacBook Pro

    Hi,
    A couple weeks ago my MacBook Pro was running and suddenly went into a non-stop pinwheel freeze. After waiting a few minutes I decided to do a manual shut down and when I attempted to reboot it, I just got a blank white screen that wouldn't go away and then a blinking question mark folder when I tried it again. Luckily I already had an external HardDrive Dock so I removed my Hard Drive, used the system startup Disc that came with the computer to redirect the start up disc, and I've been able to boot my MacBook from the Dock since then through a USB cable. So I have a temporary fix, but of course it requires a lot of set up, it's a slower connection, and is less convenient when I take my laptop from place to place.
    What I want to do is replace the connection between the Hard Drive and I my MacBook but I want to make sure that I purchase the right part. My MacBook is two or three years old now but it runs fine (besides these issues) and is fast enough for all of my needs. My Macbook is a MacBookPro5,5 with an Intel Core 2. I believe it is a 15 inch model. I'd like to avoid taking this to the Apple Store if possible because I have a limited budget and this should be a pretty simple repair as long as I'm replacing the right part. Can anyone tell me what the probable part is that I need to replace?
    Thanks,
    Todd

    SuperDuper is not compatible with Leopard, but CCC 3.0.x is.
    Put the new drive in an enclosure and connect it to the computer. Prep the drive by partitioning and formatting with Disk Utility. Clone your existing system using either the Restore option of Disk Utility or CCC (CCC is a bit faster.) Test the clone to be sure it boots the computer. If all is well then replace the old drive with the new one and put the old drive in the enclosure.
    Bear in mind that doing this yourself is not approved by Apple.

  • Jdbc:odbc driver connection issues

    I need to use the jdbc:odbc driver to access a non-oracle db from a jsp. I am sure my dsn is fine as I can use a non JSP java app to connect to the odbc db. I have loaded the sun.jdbc.odbc classes in the schema I am working in as it is not loaded by default in 9.2.0.7 currently I am on a windows system. I have found the following:
    public static void doTest()throws Exception{
    // load the local Oracle Driver
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    connLocalOracle = new OracleDriver().defaultConnection();
    // load the odbc driver
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    if I exit at this point the jsp does not through an exception
    however if I include the line:
    connODBC = DriverManager.getConnection(odbcURL,"XX","XX");
    I get the error:
    SQL> execute do_jdbc_odbc_test;
    BEGIN do_jdbc_odbc_test; END;
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception:
    java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbc.allocConnect
    ORA-06512: at "TU1.DO_JDBC_ODBC_TEST", line 0
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    So I am assuming I am loading the driver but the driver is not talking to the odbc configuration in windows.
    What permissions would I need to give to the user to allow this connection to occur?
    How can I find out if this is indeed the case?
    If not how can I make this connection happen using ODBC?

    If by jsp you mean Java Stored Procedure, the hybrid JDbc-ODBC stack won't work. You can connect to non-Oracle RDBMS from within Java in the database by using a pure Java JDBC driver of the target RDBM. Fwiw, a complete example connecting to SQl Server from with JavaDB is described in my upcoming book. (See http://db360.blogspot.com/)

  • External Hard drive connection issue

    I'm using Mac G5, FCP 5.0.
    I bought a La Cie external hard drive, and transfered all the files which relate to this feature length project. It opens and works well, but every time when I open the project on FCP, it starts searching maybe 30 files, and I have to wait about 7 minutes.(It's not the one which is in a big gray window and ask you if you want to reconnect. It is a small white box, and it says "it is searching"file name"", and it actually finds the files automatically) Is it normal? Or did I do somthing wrong when I transfered the files?
    If there is someone who knows how to solve this problem, please teach me how.
    Thank you very very much in advance.
    Kiki

    Select the drive on the desktop and type cmd+i. This opens a window that reports the formatting of the drive. If it's msdos you need to reformat it Mac OS Extended with Apple's Drive Utility found in the Utilities folder in your Applications folder. You'll lose all of the files, but it will actually work right.

  • Server 10.8.4 drive connection issues

    With Server 10.8.4 Disk Utility sometimes is unable to open drives (spinning wheel cursor) and users are unable to access drives: "A volume on the server failed to mount. There was an error mounting a volume."

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Script error while mounting Portal Drive

    Hello All!
    There is a command in KM navigation iViews which can be used to mount the Portal Drive to the chosen folder. This command lets you download a file named .davmount and if you open it, Portal Drive connects automatically to this folder. Now the problem:
    As I open this file, a standard windows message box opens and tells me:"Für die Dateierweiterung '.js' gibt es kein Skriptmodul". I don't know exactly what message would be in english, but it should be something like "There is no script module for file extention '.js'". Well, if I now install the Windows Scripting Host, everything works. Until I reboot my computer. After rebooting I get the same error. Now i can install WSH again and it works, butI don't want to install WSH everytime. Well, not rebooting the computer is also not the solution I'm looking for
    It seems that this problem regards rather Windows/Mircosoft than KM, but perhaps is anybody out there, experiencing the same problem or having a suggestion to solve this issue.
    Best regards and thanks for help,
    Christian

    I found a solution. In the Windows Explorer, I changed in "Extras" -> "Ordneroptionen" (Folderoptions?) -> "Dateitypen" (Fileextensions?) -> DAVMOUNT the call for the Application from wscript "C:\Programme\SAP\PortalDrive\davmount.js" "%1" to wscript.exe //E:jscript "C:\Programme\SAP\PortalDrive\davmount.js" "%1" and now it works. I hope this can help everybody with similar Problems.

  • SAP Portal Drive store Password

    Hello Portal Experts,
    in the configuration of Portal Drive Connections there is a Option to preset username and Password. Yet the Password field ist grayed out.
    Is this done by a Windows Security Setting ?   How can I preset the Password ?

    Timothy,
    My first port-of-call would be to find out why the OPTIONS request does not include the content-type field in the HTTP header (it's a violation of spec: <a href="http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec9.html">HTTP/1.1: Method Definitions</a>).
    I'd imagine that the reqest is being rejected by TAM because it needs to know the content-type to determine what to do with it...

  • Oracle RDB driver – Version 3.01.00.01 Connectivity Issue

    I have a SQL Server 2000 extended stored procedure connecting to an Oracle RDB data server via an ODBC connection (using Oracle RDB driver – Version 3.01.00.01). The SQL Server 2000 runs on a Windows 2000 Server.
    This extended stored procedure opens up multiple database connections and maintains them for processing. Usually, everything runs fine.
    However, every so often, we have connectivity issues. What happens is as follows:
    When we bring a station down and then try to reconnnect, our connection is denied, and we get the error: "recv() unexpected close Ret 0 Err#0 UNKNOWN Unknown WINSOCK Error 0". (This error is logged by the .dll running in the SQL Server processing space.) From the first time we receive a connectivity error like this until the Oracle RDB box is rebooted, we cannot establish another new ODBC connection to that Oracle RDB box --- whether we are trying to establish it programmatically or just via a "test connection" in the ODBC dialogue on the SQL Server box.
    We can, however, establish an ODBC connection to another, identically configured, Oracle RDB box from the SQL Server box (without restarting the SQL Server box).
    Has anyone had experience with instable connections from Windows system using the Oracle RDB driver to connect to the Oracle RDB? If not, can anyone point me in a direction that would help me research this? I am more familiar with SQL Server than Oracle, and the Oracle DBA on the other end isn't very accessible.
    I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give me.
    Thanks!

    I got same error.. Are you already solve that problem? how? please help me. Thanks

  • Oracle Discoverer 4i (portal db - oracle 8i) connectivity issue with 11g database

    Hi All
    We have oracle discoverer 4i with portal db (oracle 8i).
    We connect to the external databases using db links in the portal db and the reports will use the db link to retrieve the data from views in the external databases.
    External databases we were connecting is oracle 10g version and now we have upgraded these databases to 11g version.
    Now i have a created a new db link to this 11g database and i have created a new EUL in portal to connect to this 11g database.
    But when i try to create a report using the discoverer from this new EUL after login to the discoverer we get a "cannot connect to database" error.
    We have all the necesscary privilege to the user and the new database link works perfectly fine. (when we try to query directly using SQL plus from portal database using this db link the query works perfectly fine).
    Im not sure if this is a compatibility issue in connecting from oracle disc 4i to a 11g database.
    Can any one advise if this is the case and if there is any workaround for this?
    Regards,
    Raj

    Are you saying you are having issues with a database link between 8i and 11g (pl post exact versions to 4 digits) ? If so, it should be expected as database links between these two versions are not supported. Is there a reason you cannot upgrade the portal database to at least 10gR2 ?

  • XI adapter polling issue & JDBC  / DB2 driver connection timeout properties

    Hello Group,
    We have a long running issue with our XI 7.0 system running on iseries. (V5R3) The issue occuring is that our XI adapters stop polling and the only resolution is to restart the J2EE engine or to resart the adapter framework services.
    We have had several OSS messages open on this subject for over a year and are going round in circles with the a number of different SAP consultants.
    The one topic that we keep coming back to is that we are being asked to set DB2 driver connection timeout properties. We are using the toolbox driver and have upated to the latest JTopen driver, but have not managed to find any inofrmation on how to set the timeout parameter. Does anyone know where the timeout parameter set?
    Has anyone experienced polling issue like this before and how did you resolve?
    SAP referred to the SAP note 1078420 - XI/PI JDBC Adapter: Setting JDBC driver properties for DB which is for Oracle, but this will give an idea of what timeout parameters SAP are asking about.
    Extract of the note is below:-

    This note gives an option to set JDBC driver properties while acquiring a DB connection. When connecting to DB using JDBC adapter there are instances
    where DB connection take a long time to establish connection. Some times call made to Driver will hang permanently. Setting driver properties would resolve this problem.

    Connection timeout, time out, query timeout
    Cause and Prerequisites
    Solution
    In the advanced mode table section of sender channel and receiver channel configurations, we can set driver properties for each DB connection. Any
    such property would have to contain prefix 'driver:'(with out quotes) For example, for Oracle Database JDBC thin driver 10.2.0.3 version, the
    property oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout helps to set read timeout while reading from the socket. Also for setting login time out in Oracle, we use
    oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT. To set these two properties use as follows:
    driver:oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout 1000
    driver:oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT 1000
    (The TimeOut Driver properties like ReadTimeout and CONNECT_TIMEOUT are in milliseconds)
    Refer to your DB documentation/ JDBC driver documentation on this. Please note that properties can vary from each driver version. For instance, some
    of properties of Oracle JDBC thin Driver 10.2.0.3 properties may not be present in older version drivers. Please contact DB vendor for the complete
    list of driver properties. In addition to above, we also provide another parameter for query time out.
    sqlquerytimeout (prefix 'driver:' is not required) is the parameter that is to be used for SQL query time out. This is case-sensitive and should be
    configured as positive integer value in seconds(greater than 0).
    Any help on this would be much appreciated.
    With regards,
    Steven

    Hello,
    I am not talking about the XI timeouts. But the timeouts which can be used to get the connection timeouts for DB2/AS400 databases.
    So please provide that information.

  • Intune Company Portal iOS app - Connection Issue: Unexpected connection issue occured

    Greetings,
    I am in the process of enrolling an iOS device and I have installed the Intune Company Portal App.  When I attempt to sign in, it starts to redirect me "We are taking you to your company sin-in page" then the app says "Connection Issue,
    an unexpected connection issue occurred.
    However if I attempt to enroll via the web site, "manage.microsoft.com" I am redirected to our companies sing-signon portal which is expected. When I login there it attempt to connect what I think is "manage.microsoft.com" but the
    page never loads.
    Earlier I was able to get to our Companies Portal but there was no option to "Install a Profile" onto the device.
    The Intune Service Dashboard is reporting issues so I am wondering if this is part of the cause.  However when I was able to connect I still did not have any options to install a profile onto the device.
    We are utilizing Intune with Configuration Manager 2012 R2.
    Thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hi Jörgen,
    Thank you for the response.  I am able to bring up my company portal page now via the iOS browser which looks like the area to install the managed profile, however their is no option on the screen to "Install".
    When I look at my Intune admin portal, the Enterprise Mobility Suite selection boxes are greyed out and it does not appear from the console I have any options to enable this for my user account.  I am thinking this is the reason
    I am not getting any options to install the manage profiles.  We are integrated with SCCM 2012R2, and I have configured the Intune subscription inside of SCCM and have added the site system roles to the server as well.
    I think part of the issue is we recently enrolled in the Enterprise Mobility Suite and we had a trial of Intune which has expired.  I do have the option in the portal to enable "Microsoft Intune" for my account
    but that service is expired and should have been replaced with the Enterprise Mobility Suite but those options are currently greyed out.
    I don't know if this is going to prompt a call to MS Support to see what is going on with our account.
    Thank You
