  • Portal Favorites iview always appear in detailed navigation

    Hello,
    I have a problem regarding the Detailed Navigation with the Portal Favorites iview.
    The iview always appears in the Detailed Navigation, although the only thing it shows is the message "there are no items to display" (meaning that there are no favorites). This causes the detailed navigation to always appear even when there is no need for it (no navigation links and no other content attached to it).
    I tried removing the Portal Favorites iview (because we don't use that iview in the portal and have no need for it) from the innerpage of the default framework page, and it works, but after the next restart of the portal, the iview returns.
    Is there any way to remove it completely so that it won't appear again?
    We're running EP7 SP14.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tal.

    Hi,
    Create a new framework page by creating a delta link of the original page and then modify that framework page.
    Also you will have to create a new portal desktop and use the modified page and also set the desktop rules accordingly.
    Thanks,

  • How can you set the default width of the 'Detailed Navigation iView'?

    Hello,
    we would like to reduce the default width of the 'Detailed Navigation iView' in order to save some screen space.
    So far, we havn't found the right item in the portal admin to do this.
    Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.
    Frank Schülke, E.ON Ruhrgas, Germany

    Hi Frank,
    You can change the width of this navigation iview  by changing the value of "defaultExpWidth" in the file WAandNAVPanel.js present in the par file com.sap.layouts.framework.par from default value 220 pixels to the value you want.
    upload the changed par file and restart the server.
    Hope this helps,
    (if not do get  back )

  • Changes not reflecting in Detailed Navigation iView

    Hi,
    I want to change the font size of the links that appear in my Detailed Navigation iView.
    When i change the font size in the List Detailed Navigation section of the Navigation Panel in my theme,the changes are not reflected in my Detailed Navigation iView.
    But changes to welcome area etc are happening.
    Could you please help me on this.
    Thanks
    Saurav

    Hi,
    try to change the "font size" or "base font size" in the "navigation panel styles" under Navigation panel, then the font size will effect to all in navigation panel.
    If you want to apply only to Detailed navigtaion iview, change in "font weight of an item" in detailed navigation list of navigation panel.
    hope this helps you.

  • Portal favorites not displaying the iview.

    Hi Team,
    We have a home role with a welcome page which is the first role to be displayed to every user logged in to portal.
    Now we have enabled the option "Add to Portal favorites" to the portal objects. So when a report (BI / Bo report) is added to the portal favorites we are able to see the report added to the portal favorites iview. But when we try to access the report directly from portal favorites the link is navigating to the exact report path but not displaying the report instead it is displaying the welcome page of the HOME role.
    When i try to add Identity management iview of the User admin to the portal favorites  and try to aceess it from Portal favorites iview, it navigates to the identity management page but the welcome page is displayed instead of the identity management iview.
    Can you please let me know a fix for this.
    regards
    Bharat

    Hi Team,
    Any ideas on this issue will be very helpful

  • User selecting default display page from detailed navigation

    Hello all,
    Can individual users select a default display page from the detailed navigation section? For instance, say I have a list of pages in the detailed navigation each showing a BW report;
    Detailed Navigation
    Report 1
    Report 2
    Report 3
    Report 4
    So when the users navigate from the top level to here then 'Report 1' is automatically displayed. Say that towards the end of the quarter userX will be looking at 'Report 3' mostly while userY will wish to concentrate on 'Report 2', can the users themselves set their default? Or must this be done by the portal admin, rearranging the order of these pages in the assigned role or changing the display priority of them? But then it wouldn't be per user, if they shared the role.
    If the users cannot do this themselves is there a way to do it in Java perhaps?
    Thanks for you time,
    Patrick.

    Hi Detlev,
    We decided on an easy way through.
    Each page has to display a BW report, very simple. So we're going to give the users an iView where they get a list of all BW reports that they have access to (read from a text file). From there they select what they wish to be their default report (written to another text file).
    The default page (first on detailed navigation) reads the text file and displays the BW report found there in an IsolatedHtmlContainer. Not precisely what was wanted at the start but pretty much offers the same functionality.
    Thanks for your help, I'll read the doc. It's always good to know these things.
    Patrick.

    Hi,
    I came across a strange problem with the EP7 today. All the screens in the EP are displayed twice in the browser(IE6). The page is split horizontally and what ever i open in the first half, gets opened in the second half as well.
    Any one has come across this problem? Any solution to solve this?
    Thanks,

  • Put iView UNDER Detailed Navigation on certain pages

    Hey guys,
    anyone have a hint on this??
    I want to have some pages (some - not all where an iView is displayed under the Detailed Navigation iView.
    I have tried to put the standard DTN iView onto the page together with the rest of the content but this DTN iView is not displaying anything - the "normal" DTN iView is still there and displayes the navi structure correctly.
    Working with NW Portal SPS 16.
    Thx and best regards,
    Michael

    Hi Tegala,
    thats guiding me into the right direction.
    Unfortunately, I want to have a KM navigation iView there which is triggering another iView on the page to display the choosen folder.
    At the moment the KM navigation iView is browsing the folders on its own...
    But anyway - a big step forward!
    Thx,
    Michael

    I want to manipulate the 'Detailed Navigation' and 'Portal Favorites' on left side menu of my manuscreen. I want to rename them and manipulate to add my own iViews fixed iViews under the Portal Fvorites.
    Now, I do find the Portal favorites default iView under ortal menu Content provided by SAP - end user content - Standard Portal Roles, but it is an iView, and I can't add iViews to an iView.
    I don't find the default Detailed Navigation iView nor page.
    Does anyone know how I can change these settings to fit my menu, without having to create a pop-up page?
    Kr,

    Hi,
    To fine the Detailed navigation iview:

  • How to Display Detailed navigation passing Top level navigation node name

    Hi All,
    I have prepared a DLN par file but unfortunatly my requirement is such that I need to pass one of the toplevel node name as input parameter and that should display the corresponding DLN which is from 3rd level.
    I have checked in sdn for passing a value to the navigation tag lib which will consider it as a selectednode but could find none.
    Can some body suggest me how to acheive this.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Sai Krishna. K

    Hi Kiran,
    Thanks for your Reply..
    Following is my Scenario:
    I use 2 same versions of portals connected via federated portal concept.
    I have my detailed navigation par file in portal2 and was calling it from portal1 from a iview.
    Since I am not physically navigating in portal2(which mean there is no selected node to iterate ), when I call that iview in portal1 it is picking up only 1st node in top level navigation.
    So i need to pass "My reports" (as 1st level) & "India" (as 2nd level) as parameters such that it gets only its DTN at all times from 3rd level.
    Hope you understand my scenario, below is my iteration code logic.
    <div id="myslidemenu" class="jqueryslidemenu">
    <ul>
         <nav:iterateSelectedNavNodesLevel level="<%=START_LEVEL%>">
         <%-- the 'currentDepth' attribute provides the byte value of the current level --%>
        <nav:recurseNavNodeChildren currentDepth="depth">
             <% current = start + depth.intValue() - 1; %>
             <%=writeClosingTags(last - current)%>
             <%
            last = current;
            %>
            <%-- we want to distinguish between folder and leaf nodes so we can use different graphics --%>
              <%-- complete the html syntax for the 'class' attribute pass it as an anchor attribute--%>
              <li><nav:navNodeAnchor navigationMethod="byURL" />
              <%-- checks for additional navigation level and the appropriate html tags to accomodate them --%>
            <nav:ifNextRecursionDepthWillIncrease>
                <ul>
            </nav:ifNextRecursionDepthWillIncrease>
            <nav:ifNextRecursionDepthWillNotChange>
                </li>
            </nav:ifNextRecursionDepthWillNotChange>
        </nav:recurseNavNodeChildren>
        <%=writeClosingTags(last - start)%>
        <% last = start; %>
    </nav:iterateSelectedNavNodesLevel>
    </ul>
    </div>
    As per the passing parameter concept please explain me a bit more clear with step by step procedure.
    <b>Here if not passing parameters, providing static values will also do for my requirement.</b>
    Many Thanks,
    Sai Krishna.

  • How to disable automatic loading of iView/Page in detailed navigation?

    Hello,
    We've upgraded our portal 7.0 from SP9 to SP12.
    I've noticed that SAP have added this change: Whenever a user is navigating between one role/tab to another in the top level navigation the first folder at the detailed navigation is automatically opened and the first content there is automatically loaded.
    I would like to disable this option - I've looked at the new properties that have been added to the detailed navigation iView between SP9 and SP12 and could only find these two: Display Parent of Hidden Node and Open Folder When Launched.
    These two are not solving this problem and they are disabled anyway.
    Any ideas...?
    Roy

    Roy,
    Role and Workset Hierarchy:
    Folders F1 and F2 (Roles) are defined as entry points and therefore appear on the first level of the top level navigation bar. What happen is when we click F1 (Role), the underlying folders F1a and F1b (Worksets) appear on the second level. On click on F1a the first entry F1a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
    And same procedure happens with F2 role on the first level of the top level navigation bar. When we click on the F2 (Role) the underlying folders F2a and F2b (Worksets) appear on the second level of the top level navigation bar. On click on F2a the first entry F2a (Workset) of the second level is activated and its contents (iViews) are displayed in the detail navigation and the contents of the iView is displayed in the portal page of the content area.
    I think need to configure levels of TLN which includes top level navigation, detail navigation and content area and then need to define the entry points.
    Below are the links for configuring levels of TLN and right below it you will find link for define entry point:

  • Changing the Position of iview in Detailed Navigation

    Hi,
    I want to change the position of the iview in detailled navigation, Ex i have 4 iviews in detailed navigation as
    1
    2
    3
    4
    now i want to bring 4 up, in the sense between 2 & 3.
    One option is by setting the Sort Priority and i'am trying with other option on role level. I'am editing the role which has this 4 iviews assigned, right click on iview 4 and using option Move-->Up. Does this method work, please let me know.
    Regards,
    Pradeep

    Hi Pradeep,
    You can try below options -
    1) Go to content Administration. Locate your Default Framework Page assigned to your Desktop .Double click it, a new window opens on right side. Out of various iviews, Check Desktop Innerpage and select Open tab. It will display 6 iviews. From the Page Content List of the Desktop Innerpage, select the Detailed Navigation iView (com.sap.portal.detailedNavigationTree) and click Properties. In the displayed Property Editor, check, set, and change the properties of the Detailed Navigation iView, as necessary.
    2) You'll get a bak file for detailed navigation area.The par file is com.sap.portal.navigation.detailedtree.par.bak. You can get this par file from server System Admin>>Support>>Portal Runtime>>Browse deployment>>WEB-INF>>Deployment>>pcd. Import this par file into ur NWDS and edit it accordingly.

  • Portal - Details Navigation - stated closed

    Is it possible to set the detailed navigation pane on the Portal Left Hand side to "closed" for the whole portal without individually modifying each individual page/iView.
    All the post I have seen so far only talk about setting the "initial state = closed" at page or iView level.
    If you have a portal with many pages, this is not practical.
    Thanks for any advise or hints.

    Hello Minesh,
        1.      In the Portal Catalog choose Portal Content ® Portal Users ® Standard Portal Users.
           2.      Right-click Default Framework Page and choose Open® Object to display the page in the Page Editor.
           3.      From the Page Content List, select Desktop Innerpage and click Open.
           4.      From the Page Content List of the Desktop Innerpage, select the Detailed Navigation iView (com.sap.portal.detailedNavigationTree) and click Properties.
           5.      In the displayed Property Editor, check, set, and change the properties of the Detailed Navigation iView, as necessary.
           6.      Save your changes.

  • Add iView to Portal favorites

    Hi,
    I need to add some iViews to portal favorites area, that means the portal favorites must be a static list of portal favorites for a group of people.
    Is this possible in EP v.7.0?
    Kr,
    hilde
    Edited by: hilde bakkemyr on Jan 23, 2008 8:49 AM

    Hi,
    The Portal favorites iView is just a KM navigation iView with layoutset: PortalFavoritesExplorer and that points to the folder: /alias/userhome/<user.id>/favorites.
    So you can do with it whatever you like. Copy it, change the folder it points to etc..
    Best regards,
