Portal Hide property in Portal 7.4

Hi experts,
I need to hide the Wd-java iView/page at runtime and should not be visible to portal front-users. As it includes some logic to change the language of the user from any language to English_UK.
But in Portal 7.4 SP6, I am not able to see any iView property called "Display State", as in earlier this property hold the state to hide the iView at runtime.

Hi ,
Can you please check whether Portal Navigation cache is enabled or not? If enabled please clear it and then try.
System Administration > System Configuration > Cache Management > Navigation Cache

Hello,
I'm including 3rd party plugins in my RCP Application. Unfortunately these plugins add Property Pages to my Settings.
how can i remove or hide these pages. or how can i configure Eclipse
to prevent adding them (something like a filter)?

PS: i use default settings for the 3rd party plugins and the user should not be flooded with too much. therefore a clean menue would be preferred

You can't do that easily - I'm not sure if activities apply to
preference pages but I found this

where they are removing the preference pages the hard way!
The ideal thing would be if you upstream dep would move the preference
stuff in an extra plugin so that you have:
* ...my.bundle
* ...my.bundle.preferences
or even better
* ...my.bundle
=> here is the implementations of views, preference pages, ...
* ...my.bundle.wbcontrib
=> here are the contributions they are making to the workbench (the
plugin.xml)

Is it possible to hide / show columns in Dashboard?

Hi All,
This is my very first post in this OBIEE forum.
My requirement is to allow users to select what columns they want to see from the answers request in Dashboard. For example in Answers request there are 10 columns and 5 of them are hidden. Is it possible to change this hide property of these hidden columns in Dashboard?

My requirement is allowing client to add columns in the result section from the Column selector or some other drop down list. For example lets say we have 4 columns in the result section and 10 values (columns) in the drop down, client could be able to add these some columns to result section, which means 4 columns in the result + selected column from drop down.
Its not normal column selector which replaces one column to another.
Is there any way to achieve this?

Adobe Form - Hide a table row if a condition met

I am learning how to use Adobe Form - and I am trying to hide a table row if a condition is met by using Formcalc/Jave script - but I donot know how - I was told that I can use "....presence = 'hide' " property in on of the event(?) but donot know how to write the qualified name for the varable row and what event to use. Could someone please show me how

To HIDE only Value not the Infobject at Query Execution?

Now at runtime I want to hide VALUE2 only,but the scenario is VALUE2 infobject should display in report without TOTAL i.e.,only the TOTAL value should'nt display?
OUTPUT should come like this
Infobject-----TOTAL
VALUE1----
100
VALUE2----
VALUE3----
100

Since the TOTAL of VALUE1,VALUE2,VALUE3 are same in down TOT_VAL should display as 100 only,how to do this?

Hi balaji,
u can achieve CASE1 be defining cells.for this u should have two structures.
1.create a structure in rows with VALUE1,2 and VALUE3.
2.create one more structure with u r keyfigures and total.
3.now go to 'define cells' in Query designer.
4.double click at the intersection point of TOTAL and VALUE2.u will se like 'TOTAL/VALUE2' in that cell.bow rght click on that cell>properties...here set hide property as "always hide"...-->ok...now save u r Query...
execute the query and u will see blank for VALUE2 in TOTAL Column.

Hide / show grid in a graph programmaticly

I would like to hide / show the grid (minor / major) progammaticly. I try to create a property node, but I don't find the way to access the 'hide' property... Thanks.

I might need corrected, but I don't believe you can change the 'minor' grid color, but yes on the 'major'.
Its a Write-to property node called Grid colors, and you can have the X & Y grids as separate or Clustered together elements. You'll need to add 2 color boxes [Controls > Numeric palette] to your front panel (X & Y). The user's selection is a numeric value sent to the property node(s) you wired.

AddChild or visible property

I am brand new to flash and I have been reading lots of tutorials and help forums. I am to the point now where I am working on my own project and this is the best way for me to pick it up is to get down and dirty.
So far so good but I have a question, more like a poll.
I have 80 symbols that at any given time, 10 of them will be turned off and then some animation in their place. What is the best way to acheive to constant on and off of these symbols. Should I use an addChild and removeChild in AS3 or drag them to their stage points and use a a visible and hid property in the actionscript? The locations of the 80 symbols never change, just their visiblity. Excactly the same with the replacement animation.

Hiding a Measure Column in Pivot Table view in OBI 11.1.1.6.7

I have checked the flag available in column property to hide the measure column . Any idea

Measure Columns can't be hidden like an attribute. How ever you can use custom style sheet for Value and Header Properties to not show the measure.
for the "Custom CSS Style Options (HTML Only)" under measure properties of the column set "Use Custom CSS Style" value to 'display:none'.

Using IIF and AND in SSRS Expression

I have a table like below
I want to hide the rows where ALL 3 columns are 0. All the columns are of INT data type
My expression is like so:
=IIF((Fields!PastVal.Value=0) AND (Fields!DatePay=0) AND (Fields!Line.Value=0),False,True)
But no data is returned except the column label(heading). What could be wrong with my express?

as below
=IIF((Fields!PastVal.Value="0") AND (Fields!DatePay="0") AND (Fields!Line.Value="0"),True,False)
Or irrespective of data type make every column as string as below
=IIF(Cstr((Fields!PastVal.Value="0") )AND (Cstr(Fields!DatePay.value)="0") AND (Cstr(Fields!Line.Value)="0"),True,False)
Make sure you select the details row and set the hide property

Currency display in report

I have two Keyfigures created as Amount with Ocurrency ref.
In report when i display its also showing the currency near the Keyfigure value.I dont need that ,
for example

Follow the below steps.
1. define a column structure.
2. define one selection with your key figure.
3. define a new formula with NODIM() function. and pass the selection which you have created as above.
4. Hide the selection using "Always hide" property.

It is possible to have a dynamic Oracle Label Security procedure/script to configure data label (compartments and data label) for multiple rows at same time?

Error when including hierarchical column in repot

Hi All,
I am getting following error [nQSError: 42039] Columns in BY clause of REPORT totalling function must be in select list. (HY000) when i include the Hierarchical column, Is it something i should set for it.

Hi,
Problem was not with hierarchy column, but with another column which i used to sort the entire report on (fiscal_priod_number), and fiscal_period_number column was in excluded section in the pivot, once i dragged the column to pivot section and hide it from colum properties hide property report is functioning normally, This is something intresting behaviour, and this happens only with reports which use hierarchy column.

Load Rules into Dictonary using JAVA

I want to load the rules (Written using RL) in to Dictionary. I wrote java client which will read Rules from XML but i dont understand how to load it in to dictionary ?

now i can read rules form above xml but portion i dont understand how to load it in to dictionary so that i can access same dictionary using rule author.

I understood now. after searching a lot i found there is no way we can load RL in to dictionary. but we have very critical issue for version the rules. we dont want to version binary file or .ruleset created by rule author. we dont want to write chunk of java code to write rules as we have many rules. i dont understand what is other way we can version rules and can see all the changes in rules.can u suggest something ?

Stacked canvases - best settings for Visible / Raise on Entry

Hello,
I'm currently migrating a Forms 6i client-server application to 10.1.2.0.2 WebForms. I'm familiar with the advice that, to minimise network traffic, tabbed canvases should be changed to use stacked canvases with Visible=No, Raise On Entry=Yes. That way, tabs other than the first one don't get loaded into memory unless you actually go to them.
My question is - does this apply to stacked canvases in general? I have a number of forms with quite a few stacked canvases that get called up depending on user actions; the code calls up the canvas by doing a Go_Item. These stacked canvases are generally all set to Raise On Entry=Yes, but Visible=Yes. Would setting Visible to No give me a performance improvement? (I know, it depends on the application, but in general...) If I do set Visible to No, would I have to add code to change Visible back to Yes when the application goes to an item on the canvas, or will that be handled automatically by Raise On Entry..?

Thanks for replying. So when you say 'HIDE=Yes', I presume you mean the 'Visible' property on the Canvas? (Looking in my Forms Builder, there's no 'hide' property on canvases - unless I'm being really dim...)
I do have some fairly large forms with a lot (> 8) stacked canvases, so I may need to consider changing those to hidden - although if it involves extra coding, I might wait to see how performance looks once the application is fully up and running. The tab canvases I have tend to be fairly simple so I'll leave those alone.
I'd be really interested to hear of anyone else's experiences of how multiple canvases affects performance.
