Portal in portal

Hi!
Anyone who has experience on how to make access to external EP6.0 portals from an EP6.0 portal through an iview?
I have tried to do this by using the appintegrator iview, using usermapping. I open the external portal in an external window, but I get javascript errors when I try to activate any links.
This is not a problem when I'm using the url-iview, but I can't do this because then I have to pass my username and password as parameters in the webbrowser's address line. And that's too risky.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Øyvind

Hi Jorn,

  • Can CSD be configured on a portal by portal basis?

I have the need to use CSD on one SSL-VPN portal, but not another. It apprears to me that CSD is a global setting for the appliance. Am I missing something or is this a feature available in more recent code.
    Currently we are running:
    ASA 8.0(3)
    ASDM 6.1.1
    CSD 3.2.1.118
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Oracle Forms and Portal. & Portal Security

I need the following questions answered for a client who is
trying to move from IIS to Oracle Portal. any pointers would be
    extremely helpful
    1. How to configure Oracle Forms to run with Portal.
    2. Is it possible to display forms inside a Portlet. If so, will
the forms hold the same state when the page is refresed.
    3. Is it possible to display WORD/PDF/EXECL documents in their
    native format inside a Portlet.
    4. Any information on how IIS security integration is possible
with POrtal. i.e ( if there are ASP pages running on IIS

You can create roles in Oracle with the appropriate privileges to access the application. For example,
you could create a role that has only read access to all the tables in the database. You could assign this role to the menu. Also, you may want a role for a manager that whould enable him to insert data or to see a few special forms. You could assign this role to the menu associated with the form.
Using Form Builder, you can manage menu security with Oracle server roles. After defining the roles to use for a menu module, you could then specify the roles that have access to each menu item. When you set the 'Use Security' property of a menu module to 'Yes', the form enforces security. After setting the 'Use Security' property to 'Yes', you can use 'Module Roles' property to construct the entire list of roles with access to that menu module.
    I hope it helps.

  • Link ECC roles to Portal roles (Portal is using LDAP source for UME)

    Hi all,
If a user is assigned a certain ECC ABAP role, they should also receive a related portal role.  Our portal is using LDAP.
If our portal ume source was an ABAP system, I think it would be easy to achieve the ECC to ABAP role linkage.
We were thinking of developing a UME java webservice and have an ABAP proxy class consume it to allow our abap system to assign the correct portal role, and delete the portal role.
    Any other ideas?

    Rajendra,
Thx for your reply.  Can you provide any more details as to the design of your solution with the web service?  We are thinking of running a batch job nightly with a some mapping table in ECC to determine what ABAP role should link to the portal group then call the webservice to add the user to the portal group or delete the user from the portal group.
A second question is...does SAP Identity Manager offer any solution for this type of requirement?
    Thanks

  • CE7.1 portal and Portal 7.0 difference

    Hi,
I am trying to search on the diff between portal that comes with CE7.1 and Portal 7.0. What comes in EP Core? KMC?
    Please help,
    Alpana

CE is a light weight and cannot be used as a main portal. You need to use federated portal network(FPN) setup  for CE and EP 7.0.
As CE is a light weight, there is no KM  exists. If you want to use KM then you need to connect main portal for that.

  • Portal to Portal Federated Search

    Hi All,
There is probably a really simple answer to this but I'm having difficulties seeing it at the moment. As you can see from the title I'm trying to configure a federated search to search for documents within another portal instance. I've read the admin guide, online help & various discussion and yet I'm still none the wiser.
I understand that when you install the portal (v5.0.4) you get an incoming federated search for free. This allows someobdy to search as guest user. What I also assume is that on the portal which will be doing the search I need to set up a Outgoing federated search. Is this correct? If so then no problem but the question is that this needs to be based on a Web service. The documentation points to the EDK search API to develope this and hence the problem. I'm not familar with search web services so not sure what I should be aiming to return? Or infact anything that should be contained.
I'm developing in Java and have looked at the 2 examples but still feel lost. Can anyone point me in the right direction or further explain what I should be trying to achieve and how to get there.
    Many thanks, Adam

    Hi Rani,
    see my answers bellow:
    1. You mean you are in the Room Maintenance iView and add a new room member, and you can give him any role but the owner role? That's strange. Could you send me a screenshot?
    2. By default, the search for rooms, for example, in the room directory, in the room list, in room administration, or in the room relations manager, is performed using the SAP search engine Search and Classification (TREX). If you deactivate the TREX search for rooms or you have not installed TREX with the portal, the system switches automatically to the Content Management search function (CM search).

    3. Here the definition from SAPHelp: "A federated portal network allows organizations with distributed portal installations, both SAP and non-SAP, to provide a single portal access point per user to portal information, services and applications distributed on portals throughout the entire organizational network. This implementation allows existing content and configurations to be utilized, and to minimize necessary administration efforts". So you were right about your assumptions. • Linking of Public URLS to FIM PORTAL & Registration Portal & Reset Portal

As we all Know we have 3 Portal
    We have
    1) FIM Portal on port-80 :
        Internal URL- http://<appserver name>/IdentityManagement/default.aspx
    2) FIM Password Registration Portal- Port 8080
        Internal URL- http://<appserver name>:8080/default.aspx
    3) FIM Password Reset Portal- Port 8081
         Internal URL- http://<appserver name>:8081/default.aspx
I want these URLs to connect to Public Urls
    1) fimportal.com
    2) fimregportal.com
    3) fimresportal.com
I have tried for FIM PORTAL- Alternate MAPPING USING DNS -- but it's goin to TEAM SITE and then we provide Credentials >> then All SITE CONTENT >> then Microsoft Forefront Identity
    Then we have the portal.
We want whenever user browse "fimportal.com" >> goes to http://<appserver name>:8080/default.aspx  url >> ask for credentials >> Fim Portal.
    Please suggest.

    FIM Password Registration Portal :
    Open the 8080 Port.
    Add a “A” Record for http://<appserver name>:8080/default.aspx in
DNS and pointing it to Public IP.
    FIM Password Reset Portal :
    Open the 8081 Port.
    Add a “A” Record for  http://<appserver name>:8081/default.aspx  in
DNS and pointing it to Public IP.
    FIM Portal:
We can Redirect to the FIM Portal.

    Hello,
    Question is :
i copied a standard theme : SAP_TRADESHOW to make a custom theme. I used the portal theme editor in the portal.
i changed the colors and the pics.. The Screens of the portal is like i changed it.
But my problem is, when i open a WD4A Application which is included in the portal, for example "Travel Management" it is showen in the standard sap_tradeshow colors.
I also checked the versions of the backend themes in the mime, but the version of the theme in der portal i used is younger than the backend theme.
Is it necessary, that to make a backend theme with the colors of the changed portal theme, and contain the URL of the mime in the theme_root parameter of the WD4A Applications?
What kind of options do i have ??
    Can anyone help me ??
