Portal Login Broke after Db Upgrade to 9.0.1.3

Hi -- My portal web page login doesn't work after upgrading my portal database version from 8.1.7.1 to 9.0.1.3. All the scripts I ran (Note 159657.1 and Chap. 7 of 9i Database Migration Manual) ran ok. I also applied whatever patches/fixes required to get Oracle 9iAS 1.0.2.2.2 working with database version 9 per the certification matrix pages. I am still using Oracle 9iAS 1.0.2.2.2 on the middle tier and have only upgraded the database version. Also, I am not using LDAP for authentication.
After the database upgrade, the portal web login page comes up fine, but after I execute a login attempt I get a "Page Not Found" in my browser. This error shows up in apache's error_log:
[Mon Oct 7 03:54:41 2002] [error] mod_plsql: /pls/ssodad/portal30_sso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login ORA-1403

Everything worked fine prior to the upgrade. There are no invalid objects causing this and I can log into the portal database fine through a sqlplus session. Does anyone know why portal login is broke after database upgrade? Has anyone upgraded their portal database versions in place with this issue afterwards?
Thanks for any help anyone can offer...!
Kate

Hi Benjamin,
Thanks for your reply. I already had a working 9iAS Release 1 with a 8.1.7.1.0 database. All I did was upgrade the database from 8i to 9i on the database server. I also applied the jdbc patch on the 9iAS app server so a connection with the 9i database could be established. As far as I know, there's no portal configuration assistant step here because I already had a complete fully-functioning portal install before the database upgrade to 9i. Is there something I'm missing about your suggestion?
Thanks.

  • User account not showing up in login screen after Leopard upgrade

One of my admin accounts is no longer showing up at log in. I did the upgrade and password suggestions on the support sight... titled Unable to log in to account after an upgrade but still no good. The only account affected did have a password of 8 characters or more.
I go to open System Preferences when in a different account with admin rights and I don't see my original account as an existing user? I can see my original stuff in the user folders, but I am not listed as a user in the Account Preferences or Login. I also cannot create a new user with the same name as my old login as that name is apparently(!) already in use. I have an account with admin rights that is showing up.
From a different thread it seems that many others are having this problem thus I think it warrents its own thread. What is the easiest way to bring back my account and data... I know it is there it just is not showing up at log in.
tbigsmo wrote this from other thread... hmmmm
One more thing, I created a new user and copied over all folders from my old user account and that didn't even think about working. The last solution was suggested by the apple 800 number. This is what I was going to try next, but now am waiting. Also the other thread was very hard to follow as many folks did not have access to a working user admin account.
How can I find myself too?

Turns out you're both right, sort of...
    * The Guest Account is hidden because it's a sub 500 user, so you guys were on the money there. (I hadn't realized it was a sub-500 user...)
    * Using the hint at the link posted by V.K. to hide the secret administrator hides it ONLY from the login window, but not from the Accounts section of System Preferences...so, that solution doesn't work for me. (This is going on a master image, and the users will have admin rights, so they would be able to delete the secret administrator account...)
So, I'll just have to live without having the actual Guest account active (which I need active for use with Orbicule Undercover,) and instead I created a standard user (with a few parental controls) named "Guest User."
Thanks, both of you, for your help.

  • No login fields after Mavericks upgrade

After upgrading to Mavericks from OSX 10.8 (through the app store), my computer rebooted but now does not give me an option to log in because there is no username or password field. The gray screen shows up upon booting with the Apple logo and the mouse cursor appears to move around fine.
I can log into another OSx from another partitioned drive and see that the files on the Mavericks' upgraded partition are all there still. Ive tried safe mode, utility repair, cleared PRAM and a few other things but nothing helps bring back the login fields. Since I can not login to the system, I have not been unable to do much more trouble shooting. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
    Mac Pro
    Processor  2 x 2.93 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory 32 GB

I may join you Sebastian and go back to Mountain Lion. I still havent resolved the issue. After reading that some people actually waited 5-8 hours for their username and password dialog box to appear... I decided to wait 18 hours once.. and another time 15 hours after booting in safe mode but...they never appeared.
I did find a number of .dmp files appear on my drive after trying to upgrade (with long randomly named files similar to 32A1F2FA-6GAB-4219-AB20-DEEA343ABBA.dmp) . They were not there beforehand and seem to be created on the times and dates when I tried to fix this issue... with the very first one created on the day I originally upgraded to Mavericks. They seem to coorespond to the times I try to boot the computer up to fix it. I am only able to see these files because I am booting from another partition on another drive which allows me to see the files on the Mavericks drive.
With the disk utility, I always find some epson printer permissions that need to be repaired. I repair them and they always seem to be fixed "at the time". But if I later turn my computer off and on again... they need to be repaired again. I get the same issue on other drives and partitions that work fine so I doubt those specific permission issues are the reason for the Mavericks failure..but who knows....
Looking into other posts.. a lot of people seem to be having luck with clearing the PRAM. Anyone reading this may want to try that while using an Apple keyboard and mouse. Unfortunately it has not worked for me.

  • 'Page Not Found' wifi login issue after ios6 upgrade on iPad2

After upgrading my iPad2 to ios6 and trying to connect to my wifi, my iPad2 tries to login for some reason to the Apple site but all that comes up is a 'Page Not Found' notification. I can browse the Apple site while in this browser but I can only go back, forward or cancel which then disconnects my iPad2 from my wifi.
Is there a solution to this issue? I've already tried clearing my browser history and data and resetting the iPad2 but to no avail

    This one works for me...

  • Login problem after testing upgrade today

Yeah problem after upgrade again   After i enter my username and password to login to Gnome, i get the message
Your session only tested less than 10 seconds. If you
have not logged out yourself, this could mean that there
is some installation problem or that you may be out of
diskspace. Try logging in with one of the failsafe

I sure am not out of disk space so what could the problem be? I am using windows for now till i can find a solution.
    Thanks.

  • Some KDE effects broke after latest upgrades

    Hi all
After upgrading xorg, intel, qt, some KDE effects are broken. So far, I've found that window highlighting in the taskbar and expose windows are broken. Instead of the window contents, there's a bright white space. Anyone else with this?
EDIT: Apart from the above problems, there were also screen flashes and performance was generally awful. I just reverted back to the old xorg and intel packages and kept only the newest qt. It makes me sad that every newest xorg and intel release is much worse than previous versions... .

Are you using compositing?  The Intel drivers seem to be broken with regards to OpenGl.  You will need to use indirect rendering for now.  Personally, I had much better luck with compiz than with kwin.  Compiz also requires thast it run with indirect rendering, but the performance seems to be at least an order of magnitude faster.
The only I saw problem with compiz and KDE is that autohide trays don't play nicely with compiz.
As for me, this was the straw that broke the camel's back and sent me packing for Xfce + compiz.

  • Stuck at login screen after Yosemite Upgrade - 2013 27" imac won't recognize keyboard or mouse

I installed yosemite without issues on my 2013 macbook pro retina so decided to try it on my 2013 27" imac. Install went fine until I get to login screen. Wireless keyboard and mouse won't pair so I can't type in password. Connected generic wired keyboard and mouse and still won't recognize it.
However, when I restart it I can hold down option on keyboard and it will bring up list of hard drives to boot from (I also have windows installed with bootcamp) so I know imac pairs the key

So the iMac was purchased by my father in 2011 shortly before he died.  I thought, why not check if he also purchased Applecare at the same time? Turns out he did! So after calling and trying to reset the SMC, etc. with it not working the Apple tech told me to turn it over to an authorized repair shop here in Louisiana.  Hopefully they can fix it.

  • Login issue after Firmware Upgrade Ver.4.21.5 for WRT54g v2

I just updated the firmware to Ver.4.21.5.  After I log in to the router, each time I change Tabs or I save a change I am prompted for the Admin password.  This is annoying, but not a limiting factor for changing settings.  Is there a fix for this?
    Thanks

  • XFCE4 broke after last upgrade

just upgraded and now xfce4 has no root menu, some of the panel icons are gone or distorted, and it's not loading my background. i wonder if this is just a session manager problem, or if it's more than that. downgrading would be such a hassle because of all the packages - anyone else seeing this or have a fix?
    >> okay, i just downgraded the session manager to 4.4.0-1, and that fixed the menu and background problems. i downgraded the xfce4 icons, but that didn't fix the weird and missing icons. the panel won't downgrade without also downgrading a ton of plugins, and i'm too lazy so i'm not going to bother with that. as long as i have the right click menu and shortcut keys i can deal with it for now. i guess some bug reports should be filed if more people can verify the problems, though. thnkx.
    >>edit2: i also notice that i lost the 3 options in the logout manager. now a completely different window comes up that just says Exit Xfce4 Panel? with an option to Quit or Cancel, no more options to shutdown, restart, or logout. strange, since that's always worked fine in any 4.4. :?:

baze wrote:i had that problem too. hicolor-icon-theme was installed, but all icons installed in that dir were missing. just reinstalling hicolor-icon-theme solved that for me, so i guess that some kind of cache wasn't updated. you might want to reinstall hicolor-icon-theme and see if that works for you aswell.
thanks, that did it! i was looking all over for which ones those were and i couldn't find them. i just have to fix the logout icon, b/c that's still huge, but all the rest are there.
had to go with sudo to get the logout options, and found out my default setting to use the xfce session manager wasn't getting saved, so now everything's pretty much back to normal. thanks everyone.

  • Xorg broke after kernel upgrade!

    Hi,
Kernel upgrade was no problem nvidia is loaded 9631 .... but X refuses to start
I had to force kernel to install [bad thing!] now getting libc.so.6 error ?
back to 2.6.18 atm with no nvidia arrggggg!!!
    TIA

Could you be a little bit more precise about the error message? Often such errors happen because there are old nvidia files from older versions hanging around (this happens if you used the nvidia installer in the past).

  • All my appearances broke after the upgrade to version 20.0.1, how do I fix this?

I now get a dull grey title area where before my appearances was showing up. This happens no matter what appearance I select. Including the default one.
Is there a master setting that turns this feature on/off?

This was updating from 19 to 20, I assume, not from 20.0 to 20.0.1.
I think it could be related to the bug with "permanent" (or automatic) private browsing mode. This thread has a thorough discussion: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/956048 Themes no longer function since auto update to firefox 20].
If that's not the problem, we'll have to consider other possibilities.

  • WAP4410N-E V02 not reachable after FW Upgrade

    Hello Everyone,
I had some issues with our Accesspoints and decided to update the Firmware as it's discussed in several posts here in the forum.
Unfortunately this update from 2.0.4.2 to 2.0.6.1 was crashing the accesspoint eventually.
    So here's what happened:
I downloaded the FW 2.0.6.1 from cisco.com and installed it via the webinterface as it's meant to be.
The installation was running and in the end showing me "Rebooting device". This took some time and then the page didn't reload and since then I've got no way to contact the Accespoint.
So I thought it may have been back to DHCP and had a look into the arp tables of the router, but nothing to see there with the mac address of the AP.
I also restartet it later by taking it from the power and plugging it back in. Still nothing!
Anyone here who had the same issue and was able to fix it?
    Regards

    Hi Chris,
I am Gyanendra Singh from Cisco SBSC. Thank you for bringing up this to our notice.
As mentioned you didn't receive the login page after firmware upgrade. It is possible that device was not upgraded. Try this setps to restore connectivity to your WAP4410N:
1-     Disconnect the device from LAN.
2-     Power cycle the device and wait till the device boots.
3-     Press and hold the Reset button for 30 seconds. This will factory reset the device.
4-     Connect it your LAN network wait for 10 seconds till the time it obtains TCP/IP settings from DHCP server. [You need to check on router for DHCP leased clients a.k.a DHCP binding database to know which IP address the device has taken]
5-     If you find any trouble in step 4, you can try connecting a workstation direclty with WAP4410N with a static IP address from the 192.168.1.0/24 pool. [Device has a default IP of 192.168.1.245/24, don't forget to restart the device after removing it from LAN for making sure it release the DHCP obtained IP]
6-     If all these steps are not helping you please reach to Cisco's Small Business Support Centre for further support.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Gyanendra Singh

  • Blank Login Page after Upgrade from 4.0.2 to 4.1

    Greetings,
I just upgraded one of my Apex environments from 4.0.2 to 4.1. After the upgrade, I tried to access the login url and I get a blank page. Nothing on it, just a white page. However, if I do a View Source, all the html code is there. I wonder if it somehow lost where the Image, CSS and Javascript files are located. I am using the Apex Listener running under Weblogic 10.3.3. The Apex Listener was just a standard install with the image location being '/i/'. I am not sure how to debug this. Any help would be appreciated. Here is a snippit of code from the View Source.

I had the same behavior using apache mod/plsql the solution is:
    a) shutdown apache (opmnctl stop)
    b) unzip the APEX install file in a directory on the machine where apache is installed
    c) correct in the dads.conf the virtual dir /i/ to the "images" directory of the unzipped file
    d) restart apache (opmnctl start)
