The 9i AS installation guide talks about some database requirements (supported database versions, tablespace sizes, init.ora settings, etc.) that you should review prior to beginning your install. After meeting those requirements, you can install the portal into the starter database that is created during the database install.

Hi,
Can any one explain me how to write a test case for SAP HR. I have been recently assigned this job and dont know how to write test cases. can anyone please provide me one or two samples of test cases.I really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.
Thanks
Tanmayi RaoHi tanmayi rao,
Which tool you are using for SAP HR?
Test scripts are totally depends upon the functionality which client requires.
For example:
1. You want to check the reference code is populating into the field or not?
Test scripts will be like:
1.Login to the E-rec portal.
Expected Result: User should be able to login.
Actual Result: Login succesful.
2.Click on maintanace:
Expected Result: maintanace page should be opened.
Actual Result: maintanace page is being opened.
3.Click on Job postings and press Reference code button.
Expected Result: Refcode should be populated.
Actual Result: Refcode is being populated.
Like this Testscripts are depends upon Business scenarios.
Reward if useful.
Thanks,

Redirect to Portal Login page from portlet
We have lots of applications on the portal and many of them need the logged in user information to provide the right display context. For example, "My Notes" where notes are stamped with the user's login id. Our portlet applications show exception messages when the user id is unavailable. Pressing a refresh button takes them to the portal login page.
Does anyone know how to redirect to the portal login page? Here is how I would like it to work: A user has the application up beyond the session timeout period and does something that causes the page to submit. At the application server we look for the logged in user ID which is missing due to session timeout and we send them to the portal login page.
Thanks! MikeHi James,
<br />
<br />I fear this isn´t possible to do with ADDT, as it will - when using its Restrict Access To Page behaviour - always redirect to the page you specified in the Control Panel.
<br />
<br />However you can help yourself with a simple custom PHP redirect script
<i>(place it @ @ line 1 of your document)</i> which checks whether the "kt_login_id" Session Variable is set, and if it´s not set, redirect to a different login page:
<br />
<br /><?php<br />if (!isset($_SESSION['kt_login_id'])) {<br />header('Location: http://www.example.com/directory/login.php') ;<br />}<br />?>
<br />
<br />Hint: users who login via a different login page will still be redirected to ADDT´s default login page when logging out
<br />
<br />Cheers,

Errors while running load test scripts in Oracle Load Test
I am a QA Analyst and this is my first time using the Oracle Load Test application. Acutally this is the first time I have done anything related to load test scripts. The Oracle Load Test version I am using is 9.10.0219. When I run some of the scripts with a user ramp up of 1 user per step, the load tests complete successfully. When I begin to adjust the number of VUs per step to 2 or more, I begin to get some of the following errors. By the looks of these errors can you provide any feedback as to whether these are issues with OLT or with the application I am running the load test against? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John

It looks like an application issue since you are getting a HTTP 500. The other errors relate to the fact that ti can't resolve some dynamic values in needs to extract from the resonse content since the pages are different (probably due the 500 error).

Issue running Load Test Scripts in an SSO environment
Hello,
I am performance testing some of our web applications that use SSO. Any script I record will play back fine but upon running them in the Navgation Editor I am getting HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized error messages. To combat this I configured Internet Explorer securuty settings to always prompt me for a username and password to access this site. I then used the dialog and authentication managers to have e-Tester automatically enter login information.
However even with all of that configured I still get the error message when playing back in the navigation editor or Load Teser. How can i get around this issue short of having a login page as oppossed to the dialog message i use to login now?Yes I understand your SSO authentication scheme as well as the 401 error you receive. What type of authentication is your SSO using? Is it NTLM or something different?
When you run in the navigation editor, which Options->Playback Agent have you chosen? The best agent to use is "Java Agent", though to debug authentication problems you should test the other 2 options, which is Thin Client with and without Wininet.
I did not mention it before, but if you are only interested in creating performance testing scripts you may consider the new OpenScript tool. In the near future you will also be able to use this tool for Functional UI scripting. See my comments in [this thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=3356340#3356340] -
Hi guys,
Ive done everything suggested and my PS is still crashing. I will attatch my crash report to see if it helps with anything. I used Font Doctor and Font Book to check for bad fonts and removed the two that came up. Tried again and still nothing. What should I do now? I really need to use the type tool for a project Im working on. I can edit pictures and use the program just fine up until the point I hit the type tool. I try to run the font test script I found here on the website and the program crashes before the scrip starts running. Its getting a little frustrating.
Here's the crash report:

Also, sometimes you need to restart the machine after removing bad fonts because apps can hang onto the fonts while they are open.
There is nothing more we can do on the Photoshop side - this is an aknowledged Apple bug, that we cannot avoid (it even happens sometimes when we aren't touching type code directly, because other OS code touches the type code). -
Coded UI test script works in VS2010 but not in VS2012.
I have a test script for an application that adds 3 part numbers (i.e., rows) to a table displayed on the AUT web page. Each row in the table also contains an
HTMLInputButton called View Audit Trail. The purpose of the test script is to select the correct button, which then calls up the
Audit Details page for the selected part number. The code used in the test script driver is as follows (the same code is used for clicking on either an action button or a hyperlink contained within a table):
case "ClickTableItem":
// Note: An input example would be
03-0024-0-0001:Button>View Audit Trail
string[] keys = action[key].Split(':');
string cellvalue = keys[0].CheckGlobalValue(global); // The key data identifying which table row.
string[] objtypeANDobj = keys[1].Split('>'); // Data consists of the Object Type, and the Object to be clicked.
// Identify the table... (The name of the table from outside the
Switch statement.)
HtmlTable actionTable = (HtmlTable)map.GetType().GetProperty(key.FieldName).GetValue(map, null);
// Identify the individual table cell containing the key identifier...
HtmlCell cell = new HtmlCell(actionTable);
cell.SearchProperties.Add("ClassName", "HtmlTableCell");
cell.SearchProperties.Add("InnerText", cellvalue, PropertyExpressionOperator.Contains);
UITestControlCollection tablecells = cell.FindMatchingControls();
// Set the row index...
HtmlCell myhtmlcell = (HtmlCell)tablecells[0];
int myrow = myhtmlcell.RowIndex;
string smyrow = myrow.ToString();
HtmlCell myCell = new HtmlCell(actionTable);
myCell.SearchProperties.Add("RowIndex", smyrow);
#region Click on Hyperlink
if (objtypeANDobj[0] == "Hyperlink")
myCell.SearchProperties.Add("FriendlyName", objtypeANDobj[1], PropertyExpressionOperator.Contains);
UITestControlCollection testclickobjects = myCell.FindMatchingControls();
UITestControl tableclickobject = testclickobjects[0];
HtmlHyperlink myClicklink = new HtmlHyperlink(tableclickobject);
Mouse.Click(myClicklink);
logger.Write(" Action", "Table Select - Row: '" + cellvalue + "': Hyperlink '" + objtypeANDobj[1] + "' selected");
#endregion
#region Click on Button
else if (objtypeANDobj[0] == "Button")
// Search child level...
UITestControlCollection testclickobjects = myCell.FindMatchingControls();
UITestControl tableclickobject = testclickobjects.Where(btnCell => btnCell.GetChildren().Any(btnChild => btnChild is HtmlInputButton && btnChild.FriendlyName == objtypeANDobj[1])).First();
HtmlInputButton myClickbtn = tableclickobject.GetChildren().Where(btnChild => btnChild is HtmlInputButton).First() as HtmlInputButton;
Mouse.Click(myClickbtn);
logger.Write(" Action", "Table Select - Row: '" + cellvalue + "': Action Button '" + objtypeANDobj[1] + "' selected");
#endregion
break;
In VS2010, the correct button is always selected, and the correct audit page always appears. In VS2012, though, the correct button is always selected, but the green progress bar speeds across the screen and the test crashes, even though the message
log records the correct action. (It crashes because it can't find the verification information that the correct page was displayed, seeing as the correct page doesn't appear.) If I manually re-open the application, the table containing the added
part numbers is still displayed, and I can click on the appropriate View Audit Trail button and go to the correct audit page.
What really has me stymied, though, is that the script actually passed twice. Both times, though, either VS, the test script, or the app itself hiccupped, and only added 2 of the 3 part numbers to the table. As always, the correct button was
selected, but in these two cases the audit screen actually appeared, so the rest of the test passed successfully.
I've tried removing one of the part numbers, but the script still failed despite once again selecting the correct button. The first thing I thought of was re-mapping the web page objects using VS2012, but it turned out that they have the same properties
as with VS2010. Unfortunately, it didn't help. I've also tried changing the following parameters:
HtmlInputButton to HtmlButton
<PropertyCondition Name="ControlType">Button</PropertyCondition> to
btn
<PropertyCondition Name="Type">button</PropertyCondition> to
submit
<PropertyCondition Name="Class">PageButton</PropertyCondition> to
Button or btn
The only other thing unique is that the AUT for the VS2010 test script uses a different login screen than the AUT for VS2012 (different URLs for the login screens). Other than that, though, once the login screens are passed, the web pages accessed
are identical (i.e., the same URL).
Has anyone else run into a similar situation?Hi Jack,
Here is the applicable part of the error log. Unfortunately, it doesn't explain why the Audit page doesn't appear when you click on the View Audit Trail button. It only fails because it can't find the Return To Search button (which makes sense,
because the page wasn't opened). As you can see, I stuck a 60-second Wait step (Step 14) to see if the page would eventually appear, but it didn't.

not display the page, even though a significant Wait period has been inserted to allow the application additional time to process the page request.
I tried to attach the screen shots of the two pages in question, but wasn't allowed to because apparently my account hasn't been verified. If I can upload them or email them somewhere else, let me know and I'll give it a shot. -
HI,
We have a login problem with IE and portal 7.0.
When we open login window in IE with IP address,
http://192.168.3.33:50100/irj/portal
all works and is OK, but with URL by name as
http://bitest.you.com:50100/irj/portal
we got an yellow '! ' mark in left corner of the IE and after username/password nothing happens - on error message, just the same login window. When you insert wrong password, error message is displayed.
Doubble click on yello '!' mark shows message:

On Firefox login works with IP address and with URL .

has been written in to the C:WindowsSystem32driversetchosts file in local PC.
Have already read SAP Note 1462523 and iexplore -nomerge doesn't help.
Regards,
MartHi,
SAP Support solves this problem and their answer is:
Please note that the issue is not related to Enterprise Portal but
caused by Internet Explorer.
The issue is with the number of dots in the url (<host>.xxx.xx works
perfectly well), but only with urls with the
specific format, where the domain and sub-domain have two characters (
<host>.xx.xx does't work) in your case 'eklsapbitest.yo.ee'.
Internet Explorer does not allow cookies to be set for such a domain -
it treats it as a top-level domain. Microsoft has acknowledged that thisis a problem in IE (cf. Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 310676:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;310676).
Microsoft has also provided a fix for this issue (which involves
applying a service pack and editing the registry). In addition to this
fix, you can have the below two workarounds:
1. Redirect requests for 'eklsapbitest.yo.ee' to 'eklsapbitest.XXX.ee'.
2. Change the portal domain from 'yo.ee' to 'xxx.yo.ee'

Mart

Portal Login Broke after Db Upgrade to 9.0.1.3
Hi -- My portal web page login doesn't work after upgrading my portal database version from 8.1.7.1 to 9.0.1.3. All the scripts I ran (Note 159657.1 and Chap. 7 of 9i Database Migration Manual) ran ok. I also applied whatever patches/fixes required to get Oracle 9iAS 1.0.2.2.2 working with database version 9 per the certification matrix pages. I am still using Oracle 9iAS 1.0.2.2.2 on the middle tier and have only upgraded the database version. Also, I am not using LDAP for authentication.
After the database upgrade, the portal web login page comes up fine, but after I execute a login attempt I get a "Page Not Found" in my browser. This error shows up in apache's error_log:
[Mon Oct 7 03:54:41 2002] [error] mod_plsql: /pls/ssodad/portal30_sso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login ORA-1403

Everything worked fine prior to the upgrade. There are no invalid objects causing this and I can log into the portal database fine through a sqlplus session. Does anyone know why portal login is broke after database upgrade? Has anyone upgraded their portal database versions in place with this issue afterwards?
Thanks for any help anyone can offer...!
KateHi Benjamin,
Thanks for your reply. I already had a working 9iAS Release 1 with a 8.1.7.1.0 database. All I did was upgrade the database from 8i to 9i on the database server. I also applied the jdbc patch on the 9iAS app server so a connection with the 9i database could be established. As far as I know, there's no portal configuration assistant step here because I already had a complete fully-functioning portal install before the database upgrade to 9i. Is there something I'm missing about your suggestion?
Thanks. -
Using tcm to load test scripts into mtm, but action fails.
Hi,
I am trying to load test scripts into mtm but action fails saying : "The work item cannot be saved because at least one field contains a value that is not allowed."
My guess is that this issue is due to the parameters/attributes we give to a test case([testmethod], [description()], etc.). I am unable to find what all parameters/attributes that can be given to a test case.
Please help me with this issue.

Payal Prajapati.Hi,
I use VS 2012.
One of my test method code is:

/// Test Scenario to validate auto escalation of chat if within some time analyst does not respond to user.

[TestMethod]
[Description("Validating scenario, Auto-Escalation of chats to other Analyst.")]
[Priority(2)]
[TestCategory("Acceptance")]
public void ValidatingAutoEscalationOfChatsToOtherAnalyst()
User alice = new User(User1);
alice.SubmitChatInfo();
Analyst admin = new Analyst(Analyst_Admin);
admin.Login();
Analyst analysttier1 = new Analyst(Analyst_Tier1);
admin.SelectQueues(Tier1Queue);
admin.MakeAvailable();
alice.USendMessage("I have a problem.");
admin.AnalystWaitForAutoEscalation(25000);
string Message1 = alice.GetAnalystName();
analysttier1.Login();
analysttier1.SelectQueues(Tier1Queue);
analysttier1.MakeAvailable();
alice.USendMessage("I have a problem.");
string Message2 = alice.GetAnalystName();
analysttier1.ASendMessage("hello, i'm here to help.");
SprtTestContext.sprtTestContext.WriteLine("Earlier agent was: '" + Message1 + "' and present agent is: '" + Message2 + "'.");
Assert.AreNotEqual<string>(Message1, Message2, "=> Issue in auto escalation.");
analysttier1.WrapChatClose(4, "fixed", "comments"); }

Instant Portal login.jsp
Hi
We are looking at Oracle's Instant Portal product which seems to do what we need except as this system is to be used solely internally the project manager has decreed that no login is required (Instant Portal requires an authenticated user and does not support public pages). So unless someone has a better method I have been working on modifying Oracle's default login.jsp script and hard coding a read only users username and password. These works but the user still has to press the submit key. Is there a way to auto submit this page? Is there a better way to achieve this? Note I have never used jsp so a simple example script would help.
I have check out some of Oracle's SSO doco but there is a lot to learn and the project manager is not going to give me the time I suspect he will just choose another product. So I am hoping for a quick and simple solution from the forum.Can you elaborate on this 3rd Party Integration Module you are suggesting. You are correct that in addition to the read only user access some other means is required to access the system using a more privileged account. I had intended to create two separate logins, the first being the default one with the read-only username imbedded and the second would required a username and password.

Dreamweaver portal login problem
We have successfully deployed the EAR file, correct the xml file and installed the installed the Dreamweaver extension.
We configured the portal and test it successfully. When we tried to login we recive login incorrect... message.
Any idea why?
If we try to login to portal with this user (portal) everything works normal.
The portal version is 9.0.2.30B, the Dreamweaver is version MX 2004. The EAR and Dreamweaver extension were downloaded today (11. 03. 2004) so we assume they are the latest version.
Anybody had anything similar?Hi -
UI Templates are Shared Components under the providers tab. As such the user you log in as must have the appropriate privs. From the documentation:
To create or use a shared component, you must have at least one of the following privileges:
* Edit or higher access privileges on at least one provider.
* The CREATE ALL PROVIDERS global privilege, or higher.
* The CREATE ALL shared components global privilege, or higher.
* CREATE shared component access privileges, or higher.
By default , all members of the PORTAL_DEVELOPERS or DBA groups have these privileges.
Hope this helps,
Candace
