Dears,
Is there any functionality in EP6.0 by which if any enduser forget his password,he could reset it himself without going to SU01.
Shivam

Hi All,
Many Thnaks for your help.
Just One more thing as sugested on link:
Start user management configuration.
For more information, see Configuring User Management.
       2.      Choose the User Admin UI tab.
       3.      Choose Modify Configuration.
       4.      Determine which optional features you want to configure and save your changes.
¡        To configure what data business users must provide, set the Require First and Last Names in Logon Help indicator.
¡        To configure a security question choose from the following options:
u25A0       To enable business users to enter their own security question, select Enable Security Question.
u25A0       To enable business users to select their security question from a list of predefined questions, select Use a Predefined Security Question.
In User Admin tab I am not finding any option of modify configuration.
Please suggest as I want to enable security Question Policy .

  • Portal Password Reset Application In webdynpro for ABAP

    Hello Friends,
I am new to WDA . I want to create a Password Reset application in WDA like this
    [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f0c09b9d-52e0-2d10-3981-86bfa8e19dc3?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]
Can someone pls give the solution , how to start??
    Thanks in advance
    Himani

I am afraid that this is not going to be possible for you. From WebDynpro for ABAP, you do not have portal API's to do that.
May be an idea ,If you have SSO in place you could try to call some FM's in r3 side to change the password in r3 system and this would synchronize the UME in portal.

  • Portal Password Reset problem

    Hi All,
My scenario wants an automated process where the users can reset their own password. Do you know if the user password reset on the logon page is a automated process? Does the email with password go directly to the user or the email goes to the administrator and then the administrator has to reset the password? Do I need to configure the SMTP in my client system for this? If so can you give the steps involved for configuring SMTP?
I have configured SMTP server by logging as Administrator in portal -> System Admin -> Sys Confgiruation ->
Universal Worlist & Workflow -> Engine and gave the notification email as 'JavaMail'.
The again portal -> System Admin -> Sys Confgiruation ->
Universal Worlist & Workflow -> Email edit it gave the Host name as my SMTP mail server name. I checked my mail server through telner <mail server> 25 and it is opening in command prompt. Am I missing anything here in SMTP configuaration. Fileds like Pop3 User and Pop3 Password I wanted to leave as blank but when I click save in Portal , it self add some encrypted values.
can Anybody has done the above scenario. Its urgent.
I have read on help.sap.com and it looks like it sends an email to administrator and then the administrator resets the user password. Is my understanding correct on the above.
Can anyone provide me a step by step approach on the same.
Suitable answers will be rewarded definitely.

I found some information about this on SDN and on the help.sap.com site that might help:
    First look at:
Change/Reset password option on the login page
    and:
    Password Reset
    Then check here:

  • Portal password reset page text changes

    Hello Experts,
We are using Portal 7.02 SP13. We use the standard password reset tool for allowing users to reset their passwords.
On the logon page there is a link Get Support which the user clicks to reset his/her password.
Following this user sees the below where they select the option Password Reset and click Submit button.
We want to change the text Are you a suuplier having trouble logging in?
I have tried looking in the portal logon page PAR file to locate this text in some properties file, but a unable to locate it. Where do I find this text? Is it present within the logon page PAR or is there some other component within which I can find this?
    Regards,
    Saurabh

    Hello Experts,
In the logon page PAR file I am able to find a JSP page umHelpPage.jsp which contains this line
    <div class="urTxtH3" tabindex=0><%=logonLocale.get("HAVE_TROUBLE")%></div>
and when I do a View Source from the Password Reset page I can see the below line
    <div class="urTxtH3" tabindex=0>Are you a suuplier having trouble logging in?</div>
I have looked at the logonLabels.properties and logonLabels_en.properties files under the umlogonbase.jar file within the portal logon PAR file, but for the key HAVE_TROUBLE I can see the text "Having trouble logging in?".
Howevert at runtime I see the text "Are you a suuplier having trouble logging in?", does this mean that this text is not getting picked up from the logon page PAR file?

  • Portal: Password reset and unlock User via UME?

I'm new to Portal and SAP.  I'm trying to find options to have a username unlocked and password sent to user based on a userid from our Portal logon page.
The end user needs only to know their user ID, and based on this user ID I need their username to be unlocked, and a temporary password to be emailed to them (Looked up from their user ID via Database)
From what I've been reading UME can do this, but when I look into configuration of it I'm not seeing anything that can define this to show up on the Portal logon page.  Does this have to be developed and built in or linked as a separate page or is there a prefab one made already(nothing I could find showed evidence of this, although the documentation regarding UME hinted at this)?
The end user doesn't need to answer security questions because to get access to the portal they already have to be on my secured network.
    Any help would be great!

    Andrew,
This link might help explain what is possible with SAP Portal in terms of allowing the user to reset their password from the logon screen.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/45/7e6313d8780dece10000000a11466f/frameset.htm
As for allowing a user to unlock their account from the logon page, there is no such functionality that I know of.  This would need to be developed.  We are doing something similar.  In our case, we are developing a module that allows user to retreive their user ID if they forget it.  This also is not functionality that SAP provides.  The user can specify their email address, and it emails them their user ID.  This is being developed in Web Dynpro for Java utilizing the UME APIs.

  • Portal Password Reset - Active Directory - Urgent

    Friends
We are using SAP Portal 6.0 SP 18.  The Portal UME data source has been configured with Microsoft ADS.
Now we have an requirement to change the user Password in the Active Directory from the Portal.
How can we achieve this...?  I am OK even to do some development for this.
Please let me know the mechanism.

You can use the UME API to change your own password on a Microsoft Active Directory server, but before that please see the SAP note 876938. Also please see the SAP note 613577, this note have an attachment, it is very helpful. Useful blog <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/1789">User management API in WebDynpro</a> for how to use UME API's.

  • Error during password reset using self-service portal

I am working in a poc (proof of concept) using oim with ad, exchange, sap and database application tables connectors. During some tests I noticed that password reset through oim's self-service portal works fine for ad, exchange and sap, but it fires an error for the database application tables connector. The odd part is that i can change the user password using web console as xelsysadmin nicely. Also I can change the password when i retried the failed task.
    Any help is appreciated.
I'm running OIM 9.1.0.2 with BP05 applied, Weblogic Server 10.3.2, Oracle Database 11.0.7. The OS is Windows 2003.

  • Password Reset Issue in Portal

    Hi All,
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Issue : We have resetted a password for one srm user in Portal. The User when he tried to login after the password reset initially it was asked to change the password. User changed the password. He is succesfully logged into the portal. Now the problem is when he tries to access a srm work item in worklist it is opening a new window and asking to reset the password again with the error message "No switch to HTTPS occurred, so it is not secure to send a password & This is an initial password that must be changed". It is not asking to change when he tries to login to portal and this error is promting only when he tries to open a work item. Because of this the user could not proceed to work further.
Can any please let me know if faced with the same error.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Viswes

    Hi Viswes,
There are two solutions for this issue,
    1. Create a custom application which will change PWD in all the systems once you change your Portal PWD.
    2. Change the backend PWD before accessing UWL. (Login to backend system directly, it will ask for change of PWD).
    Thanks.

  • Password reset option in Portal

    Hi Experts,
I would like to integrate password reset option in between help and logout option in masthead.
    The issue is:
1.how to integrate a link in Masthead which on clicking enables end user to reset Password?
2.is there any coding that i have to do for password reset?
    Thanks Inadvance!
    regards,
    Siva

    Dear Siva,
I will try to address your questions as best as I can.
But what you're asking is too much I'm afraid.
It seems you're needing to learn the basic concepts of Portal development first.
And explaining all those concepts on a forum post is simple impossible.
Moreover, the component you're trying to develop is not an easy one to start with.
My advise to you is to first read some manuals or attend a few SAP training sessions on the
    subjects:
    - JAVA development
    - JSP development
    - Developing Portal components
Nevertheless, and trying to answer your questions as best as possible, here's some tips that I
hope can guide you the right direction (and again, if you don't have the basics, you
might not understand part of it):
I have been through above wiki, its not indetail.
    Yes It is.
The wiki shows you just what you need - the code.
It is not a "how-to" develop a portal component. It assumes you know that already.
I could not understand where to start from?
You need to develop a Portal Component on your NWDS (Netweaver Developer Studio).
    On you NWDS go to
    File > New > Project.
And inside that box, choose: Create a Portal Application Project.
Now you need to create the Portal Component.
Go with your left mouse button on the project you have just created and choose
New > Other > Portal Application > Create a new Portal Application Object
I would suggest JSPDynPage (here you can choose to create a JSP, Bean and a Java main class)
    Where do we find the 1. portalapp.xml, 2. Implement the Bean, 3. PasswordChange.java, 4. PasswordChange.jsp, 5. Success.jsp, 6. Redirection.java?
You need to create all those JAVA and JSP objects yourself.
The bean is a JAVA class that you need to create as well.
The portalapp.xml is a file that is automatically created by the NWDS when you create a Portal Project.
Provides configuration information for your application - it is like a "business card" of the application itself.
And that "business card" will be presented to the Portal when deployed - saying "hello, I'm a Portal application
and this is what I have inside".
You can learn more about this XML file here:
    Hope this helps you.
    Good Luck!

  • Is multi-factor auth required for self-service password reset and portal registration?

Hi, hoping someone can give some clarity on this.  I'm dealing with strictly online accounts, no AD sync to local servers.  I have enabled and configured self-service password reset in AzureAD.  In that config I have required users to register
their alt contact info when logging into the portal.  While testing this, I don't get prompted to register unless I've enabled multi-factor auth for the test user account.  I need users to register in case they need to use SSPR, but I don't want
to force them into MFA.  I've gone over the following article and it says nothing about requiring MFA for SSPR or forced portal registration to work.
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn683881.aspx
I know there is a separate link for the registration portal that will guide users through the process, but that's a separate link.  Maybe they'll set it up, maybe they won't.  I'd like for the first sign-on to be a smooth process that gets them
set up for SSPR if needed.  Can someone clarify and point me in the right direction? Thanks.

    Hey acook15,
I work on the password reset engineering team.  Right now, you are correct, you cannot enforce registration for password reset during first sign in.  This is a feature that we are working on right now, which will be available very soon for sign
ins to Azure, your connected apps, and the access panel, and will come a bit later for Office 365 sign ins, as well.
In the interim, you can configure SSPR to require users to register when they access the access panel at myapps.microsoft.com by following the instructions here: http://aka.ms/customizesspr (search for "Require users to register when signing in to the
    access panel?").
You can also read more about other ways to get SSPR data in the system for your users here: http://aka.ms/ssprbestpractices.  Let me know if this helps, and if you need to get in contact with me, feel free to email me at [email protected]

  • SCSM 2012 - password reset facility through the portal

    HI,
I have what would seem some very basic questions about resetting passwords through the portal, but I hope someone can help.
    1. My company want users to be able to reset their own passwords, so they see on their from loging screen an option to reset or unlock the password. I don't believe this is achievable in SCSM - is that correct?
    2. Is there any 'plug-in' to SCSM or other System Center product to achieve this?
3.I believe that SCSM for password resets is really designed so that a manager (or someone you decide has the relevant authority) can reset one of their staff's passwords - is that correct?
    4. This is outside of SCSM maybe, but has anyone got any recommendation for a password reset tool? for a small company of under 1000 staff.
I am looking to use the System Center products but don't think they have the option my customer is looking for.
    Sorry for so many questions.
    tamrep

    Hi tamrep.
If I understand this correctly, you need users to be able to reset their own password if they have forgotten it 'pre-logon'  If this is the case, there is an add-on for SCSM - by
Cased Dimensions.  However, you are also correct in thinking that this is possible without add-ons if you want managers (or other designated users) to be able to request password resets.
The latter is the most common method I have implemented, and generally works well.
Another alternative would be to use Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) as this has the capability to do this also.

  • Allow Anonymous Access to the Password Reset Portal

How do I go about enabling Anonymous Access to the Password Reset Portal?
The following instructions don't seem accurate anymore.  Has this setting changed with Sharepoint Services 3.0 SP2?
When I click on "Settings" in Step 4 the only option displayed is "Permission Levels".
Allow Anonymous Access to the password reset portal
In this procedure you will configure the portal to allow Anonymous Access to users who need to reset their passwords.
To allow anonymous access to the password reset portal
Log on to the password portal (http://<portal hostname/PasswordPortal) as an administrator.
On the top right hand side of the portal homepage click Site Actions, and then click Site Settings.
Under Users and Permissions click Advanced Permissions.
On the Permissions page, click Settings, and then select Anonymous Access.
Under Anonymous users can access, select Entire Web site, and then click OK.

Yes, that was very helpful.  Thanks!
Just in case that site dissapears and someone else needs this info, here it is:
If you don’t see the “Anonymous Access” menu option in the “Settings” menu, it might not be turned on in Central Admin/IIS. You can manually navigate to “_layouts/setanon.aspx” if you want, but the options will be grayed out if it hasn’t been enabled in IIS
First get to your portal. Then under “My Links” look for “Central Administration” and select it.
In the Central Administration site select “Application Management” either in the Quick Launch or across the top tabs
Select “Authentication Providers” in the “Application Security” section
Click on the “Default” zone (or whatever zone you want to enable anonymous access for)
Under “Anonymous Access” click the check box to enable it and click “Save”
NOTE: Make sure the “Web Application” in the menu at the top right is your portal/site and not the admin site.
You can confirm that anonymous access is enabled by going back into the IIS console and checking the Directory Security properties.
Now the second part is to enable anonymous access in the site.
Return to your sites home page and navigate to the site settings page. In MOSS, this is under Site Actions – Site Settings – Modify All Site Settings. In WSS it’s under Site Actions – Site Settings.
Under the “Users and Permissions” section click on “Advanced permissions”
On the “Settings” drop down menu (on the toolbar) select “Anonymous Access”
Select the option you want anonymous users to have (full access or documents and lists only)
Now users without logging in will get whatever option you allowed them.
A couple of notes about anonymous access:
You will need to set up the 2nd part for all sites unless you have permission inheritance turned on
You must do both setups to enable anonymous access for users, one in IIS and the other in each site

  • OSX Server password reset portal doesn't communicate password requirements

    Here's the story:
We are migrating our users to a new fileserver running OSX Server 2.2.2 on 10.8 from an existing 10.4 server.  We have prepopulated the user accounts with the same login names as our old server, and set temporary passwords for each user that they will need to reset.  The plan was to have each user set their custom password via the built in web portal.  We've got Windows and Mac Users, so we are expecting at least the windows users will have to set their passwords this way, as the Mac users can be forced to reset their password at first login.
The issue is that we are are implementing stronger password requirements on the new server, but the password reset portal doesn't seem to communicate that at all.  When entering the existing password, and a new password that is not strong enough, we get the error:  "Your password could not be changed.  Please retype your old password and try again" which is misleading because it is an issue with the new password being too weak, not the old password being incorrect.
Is this normal behavior for this reset portal?  It's pretty basic, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's just the way it is, but we are looking for a way to keep it as simple as possible for our users, and to avoid unnecessary confusion.
For the record, our password requirements are:
password minimum length = 8 characters
    passwords must contain:
    at least one letter
    at least one number
    at least one special character
differ from last 5 passwords used
    be reset on first login

    Another helpful forum user said:
Then you might try this procedure to create a new administrator account:
    http://osxdaily.com/2010/08/10/forgot-mac-password-how-to-reset-mac-password/
Which i tried. I ran through the help link above which all seemed to work until the end... and i got this error...
Which means i couldn't get to the part that sets up a new user. :-(

  • Issue in reset portal password.

    Hi Experts,
I have implemented "Forgot Password" functionality in our portal (EP7). It was working fine. But now we are getting an issue.
If we locked the user from r/3 end using TCode 'SU01' or if the user get locked for too many wrong password attempt and then  he/she try to reset the password then this functionality not working. If we try to reset the password we are getting the mail with new password but with the new password portal not allowing us to enter. It's giving " Authentication failed" error.
But If we reset the password without locking back-end user then itu2019s working. we are getting the mail with new password and  portal  allowing us to enter.
Means if by any chance the backend user is locked then it's not working.
    what could be the reason?
    Thanks
    Sujan Indu

If an administrator locks a user explicitly from SU01 (User ID Locked), then the user should not be able to unlock himself using the portal password self service application. That is the whole purpose of an administrative lock.
However, the application should work if the password is locked due to a number of unsuccessful logon attempts.
    See SAP Note 1397312 -
"users are allowed to reset their passwords only if it is locked because of too many failed logon attempts. If the user is locked by administrator he is not allowed to reset his password."
