Portal:portal is down

Hi

thank for any replay

Have you taken a look at the portal configuration guide on the portal center (http://portalcenter.oracle.com)?
This forum is really for general iAS questions while the portal forums can be used to ask portal specific questions.
Good luck.

    hi all ,

    HI Jawla,
    1) apologies, i was busy yesterday and dint see your mails and SDN to reply u back
    2) i already told you , you need to specify the correct path of the services, if the path was wrong how it can be reflected. the path you specified doesn't contain any data so it was reflecting the blank page
    3) to reflect the old changes, you have the screen shot of old scenario which you have attached in SDN, you can make the changes in the same way
i implemented this scenario in my project one year back....it was working fine with no issues...i feel very bad as mentioned as don't try this scenario it will collapse your portal
Sorry if i troubled you at any part on this issue

  • Why Portal server goes down?

    Hi All,
We are currently running on EP7, SP9.
Suddenly one day our portal server went down.We checked the logs but could not find the correct information. Can any one of help me as why our server went down at that particular time.
Please reply as soon as possible.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Ramalakshmi.S

Portal server goes down for several reasons:
    1) Check the portal license. If the trial license expired, it goes down every 30 mins.
    2) Check your J2EE settings. If the portal cannot handle the user requests, you should increase the MaxThreadCount and other parameters.
    3) Check the trace files at D:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC01\j2ee\cluster\server0\log
    Hope this helps.

  • Component Portal:portal is down in OAS 9.0.4.1.1

    Hello,
i think i know why is down but i don't know how and where can i repair this.
Inside the component Portal:portal is almost at the bottom Related link and beside is "Portal End User Default Homepage" which URL show me to
    http://http//server.domain.si:80/pls/portal.
    So, twice http://.
    What can i do?
    Tilen

    so,..
i've got the solution from metalink and i write here for somebody else....
It seems the problem for this issue is someone has inserted or altered the targets.xml file for the portal:portal target.
The PortalListeningHostPort parameter includes "http". This parameter should not include the http because there is an already param
    eter that calls http, HTTPProtocol.
The PortalListeningHostPort should only contain the hostname:port. For example,
    <Property NAME="PortalListeningHostPort" VALUE="name.domain:port"/>
Stop the iasconsole, make the changes, restart iasconsole and update the SR with your results.

  • 9iAS v2: OC4J_portal versus Portal:portal:7777

After 9iAS installation. EM Website shows OC4J_portal is up running,
Portal:portal:7777 is down. After I clicked the Portal:portal:7777 link its
    status changed to running.
    1. What is the difference between OC4J_portal and Portal:portal:7777?
    2. Do they need to be both started on mid-tier?
    3. Which portal is the one corresponding to the 9iAS v1 Portal?
    Thanks,
    Lin

    Ans 1:
OC4J_Portal and portal:portal:7777 are two targets.
    (Components)
OC4J_Portal status is based on OC4J_Portal is Up.
portal:portal:7777 status is based on /pls/portal is
    accessible.
OC4J_Portal takes you to the metrics specific to only OC4J_Portal
If you drill down to portal:portal:7777 > PPE .. Here you
will see a link to OC4J_Portal, clicking on which takes you to the OC4J_Portal page.
    Ans 2:
    **Portal:portal:7777 is down
I remember seeing a Bug (Not publised) for this. Can you tell your portal version?
Does it show as down the first time the page is accessed?
Does it shows as Up on Refreshing the Page?
    Ans 3:
I did not get this question. What are you trying to ask?
Do you mean the Portal Version??

Make sure the hostname you use in your URL (short and FQDN) can be resolved.
    ie:
    myportal:<port>/irj
    myportal.mycompany.com:<port>/irj
eg: in your hosts file make sure
    10.23.2.50 myportal myportal.mycompany.com

    Hi,
could any one update my question why the DAD is down (checked from OEM console) even after the properties set are correct? is there a way to troubleshoot it? I would be thankfull if I could get the answer/How to trouble shoot it?
    Thanks,

Looks like you are referring to an earlier post -- if so, which?
You can check the error_log files from the HTTP Server in $OH/Apache/Apache/logs for information as to why the connection to Portal could not be opened.
This should give information as seen from mod_plsql, such as login issues to the database, or problems resolving the service name.

  • Remove .par from syste not using the portal(it´s down),should do offline

    Hi
we have a portal that have an iView called in the framework.
This iView is causing an error, so when accesing the portal we inmediatelly have the issue and we have no access to the web and the content admin.
This error is caused due to a problem in the last version updated.
I have 2 options in mind to change this:
-Upload a new version of the file withot the proble. This could be done with NWDS but it´s not working.
-Remove the iView with the problem but this should be done offline. And i don´t know how.
    Any idea?
I´m lost and in a rush.
    Regards
    Fernando

    Hi,
    Offline undeployment:
Here is the way you can undeploy your par file manually:
    Remove your par.bak files from:
    ..\usr\sap\<SID>\<JC-->\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
    and
    ..\usr\sap\<SID>\<JC-->\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\temp
Mostly the par.bak will be present either in pcd or temp folders but not in both.
    ex: C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
After that restart your J2EE engine and check your par file again.
To remove the IView you should goto Content Administration and Portal Content and remove the IView from there.
    Greetings,
    Praveen Gudapati

  • How to call Java WebDynpro iViews from Portal (Portal Content Directory)

    Hello everybody,
I am trying to call a Java WebDynpro iView, which was created within the Enterprise Portal and is stored in the portal content directory (pcd).
I have created an HTML-iView in VC, where I have put in the pcd-link into the default-url field (pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.cprxrpm.ppmdc/com.sap.pct.cprxrpm.iviews/com.sap.pct.cprxrpm.iviews_cprojects/com.sap.pct.cprxrpm.cpr_projects). This iView is calling the cProjects WebDynpro Application. But after I run my model, the portal page is running and running, but nothing happens.
I did the same with transactional iView, which was also created in the Portal before. I have also created an HTML-iView in VC, where I have put in the pcd-link into the default-url field (pcd:portal_content/IBU_content/SAP_for_Service_Provider/com.sap.pct.issp.ps.professional_services/com.sap.pct.issp.prs.iviews/com.sap.pct.issp.prs.display_sd). This is working fine!
What I also tried is to call another VC-Model with an HTML-iView. Here I have put-in into the default-url field the pcd-location of my VC-model (pcd:portal_content/IBU_content/SAP_for_Service_Provider/com.sap.pct.issp.vcmodels/com.myComp.myProduct.1DM9.CreateEngagement/com.myComp.myProduct.iviews/com.myComp.myProduct.1G62.Cprojects_neu). This is also running fine!
Now I do not understand the difference between this three objects. There are all iViews within the portal but the WebDynpro iView is not callable through a HTML-iView in VC.
Could you help me in this case? Your help is very appreciated!
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Aylin.

    Hi Marcel,
when you mean the preview within the portal, yes, it is working fine.
URL is not the way to solve my problem. I am working with IDES-Systems. This is our Demo System within SAP. I have to build my VC-Model in a Master IDES-System which will be transported than into the other IDES-Systems. The URL of the WD is not the same in the other systems. It is changing depending on the several Sysems. But the pcd-location is in all systems the same. Therefore I have to specify the pcd-location of the application.
Is there a restriction with WD within VC?
If we can do some kind of a netmeeting, I can show you my problem exactly.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Aylin.

  • (ESS) FPM applications, cfg DCs & Enterprise Portal / Portal Content DC

    Hi everyone,
I just replied to the Road Map Step Label Changes Issue thread in the Java Programming forum. Since I had a very specific question that seems more suitable in this forum, I decided to post it again over here.
    short introduction
The SAP ESS SC contains FPM (Floor Plan Manager) applications that you can modify at runtime from within the portal using the Self-Service Administrator portal role. The point is that this content is also contained in the SAP_ESS SC in NWDI. It's contained in all those cfg DCs. They basically contain a (zip)archive that contains other (zip)archives that contain different XML files that eventually describe the FPM application. So what happens is that you can modify the FPM applications at runtime, but your changes are overwritten when the cfg DC is deployed afterwards.
    the details... and the questions...
Concerning those cfg DCs. They're a very specific type of DC. The type is "Enterprise Portal" and the subtype is "Portal Content". In NWDS, this is described in the following XML file: C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse\plugins\com.sap.ide.eclipse.component.provider_2.0.0\componentTypes.xml When I was using NWDS 7.0 SP12, this particular type of DC was not visible (if I remember it correctly), i.e. I could not create a new DC of this type. NWDS SP12 also didn't contain the necessary plugin, com.sap.portal.pcd.ide.eclipse.nwdi.ui.NewPortalContentWizard, as described in the same XML file (or at least I couldn't find it). Since I installed NWDS SP14, the plugin is present and I can create this type of DC myself. But that doesn't help me that much, since the wizard just creates some empty DC and I don't have a clue how to populate it with the content of the FPM application. Unfortunately I also don't have a clue about how to modify the existing cfg DCs in SAP_ESS.
BTW, some changes, e.g. a small textual change, is relatively easy to do: unzip the archive(s) in the cfg DC, modify the text in one of the XML files (for some reason the translation of the roadmap steps are present 4 times, if my memory doesn't fail on me) and zip everything again. This works fine for me.
    the $1 million question...
Obviously, what I really like to know: how to modify the FPM applications on the portal using the Self-Service Administrator role (that's easy) and export it to a suitable archive that can be imported in the (SAP_ESS) cfg DCs? As long as this is not possible, meaning I don't have a clue how to do it, I'm forced to deploy the modified FPM applications, which I exported as an epa file, after each NWDI transport. And this is not very practical...
I hope my (probably a bit too complex) explanation makes any sense.
If someone else knows more about this subject or how to deal with it, please let me know. tnx!
    Kind regards,
    /Sigiswald

Did you ever found a suitable solution for this. We are facing the same problem at the moment.
