Portal Screens are displayed twice

Hi,
I came across a strange problem with the EP7 today. All the screens in the EP are displayed twice in the browser(IE6). The page is split horizontally and what ever i open in the first half, gets opened in the second half as well.
Any one has come across this problem? Any solution to solve this?

Reverting to default settings
Use the Restore Defaults button to reset the content and layout of the page to the default settings defined by the content administrator.

How can I prevent that error messages are displayed twice.
The FuBa is called at the backend more than one time (at least twice)
therefore I get every message twice.

I'm not sure if I understood your problem. Are you saying that you have a service which you call in a loop, and display the error message in the loop as well? If so an option would be to have a [HashMap|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/util/HashMap.html] where the key is the error message id, and the value is the error message. In the loop check if the error message id returned by your service already exists in the map and add it only if absent. Then after your loop is complete use the MessageManager to display your consolidated error messages.

Portal favorites Iview Displaying twice in detailed navigation iview

Hi All,
I am facing one issue in portal...
In all the roles Portal Favorites Ivew is displaying twice in the detailed navigation iview. And the options in the Iview are different like details, refresh, Open a new window....
I have only one default framework assigned to my desktop....
I cldnot trace out which is causing this issue...
Could someone adivse me on this...?

In my application in validateEntity() method of a entitiy I do some validation like this:

but displayed error massage displayed twice :

Pictures are displayed twice when attached to messages

When I receive an email with a picture attached/embedded as part of the page, it shows up twice--once within the page, and once again with the attachments at the end of the email. It doesn't happen all the time, but ALWAYS when I get an email from my school. They send out a lot of announcements for shows that are coming to the performance center on campus. Is it some weird thing they are doing with the formatting of their messages, or can I fix this on my end?

Yeah, but I have that checked, too. It's been so long since I've had it unchecked, but as I recall, all that does is not send the resource forks along, those pesky little files comprised of a few random jumbled letters that everybody always tries to open first instead of the actual attachment, so then they can complain that Apple dorked up the attachments that you sent.

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

ODSEE 11gR1: DS server instances displayed twice in DSCC console

I recently migrated some DSEE 6.x DS instances to ODSEE 11gR1 (dsconf : 11.1.1.5.0 B2011.0517.2145) on RHEL 5.7 x64 .
When running "./dsccreg list-servers -aC" on the DSCC host, I can see all my ODSEE instances.
However, in the DSCC console, some instances appear twice, in the "Directory Servers" -> "Servers" sub-tab, and some others appear
only once, normally.
For the instances appearing twice, I have the following in the "Server" column:
server shortname:389 (server not registered)
server FQDN:389
I'd like to know how to remove the "server not registered" lines. I don't know how does DSCC build this server list, but I've checked it's
not defined under th cn=dscc tree.
The problem with that wrong display, is that for example in the replication agreements tab, some replication agreements are displayed twice too,
which is confusing.
DSCC runs in a Tomcat 6.0.35 container, and my java version is as follows:
java version "1.6.0_20"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.9.10) (rhel-1.23.1.9.10.el5_7-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode)

I did what you suggested. Both commands worked fine and produced no errors but the problem remains in the DSCC GUI.
When running ./dsccreg list-servers, it still works fine, I see all servers only once.
Also, I noticed that if I look at the GUI between the remove-server and the add-server command, each server appears
twice with the following comment between brackets: (server not registered).
After registering the server again, one the "(server not registered)" comment 's been removed but the other instance
with the comment remains.
So, the remove-server command doesn't prevent an instance from being displayed in the DSCC GUI. This is what I'd like.

On march 14 2008 I take my computer to original factory settings because advice given by IBM customer care.After that windows updates were downloaded and installed automatically.
But after this three users names are display twice.

You will not be able to reinstall Omnipass because Lenovo does not supply the setup files. It is possible to "retrieve" the setup files using certain methods, but it is not advisable to do so.
I do recommend that you try the Lenovo Fingerprint Software, since I believe it is much better than the Omnipass software in terms efficiency and integration.

Portal Forms are not getting displayed in the new oracle environment.

Hi All,
The Forms in our Portal applications are not getting displayed after we have done the upgradation of Database in Unix from 8i to 9i. The reports are working fine.The forms that were added as portlets are not getting displayed and other forms that are called thorough links returns error when it is run. The Newly created forms are also not running but returns error. The Portal Version is 3.0.9.8.3. Pls help.

How do I limit what movies are displayed at the top on the main screen

Is there any way to limit what movies are displayed at the top on the main screen when menu Computers are selected?
Currently it shows ALL of the content in the Movies folder in iTunes, but I would like to not show my 1 million 5-second videoclips and only the "real" movies.
Any suggestions?

I think you are right. It's the latest videos added that are displayed first. Makes sense.
I'm using a PC so it's a bit hard to work with iPhoto . However, your comment did give me a hint to how to solve the problem.
I moved all my video-clips out of my Movies folder and into my Pictures folder.
Then I changed Photo Sharing in Itunes to include Videos
And voila! The main screen now shows only my "real" movies. Sorted by latest added - but I guess that's the best we can do.

SAPUI5 Application doesn't display in Portal Content Area

Hallo Guys
We are developing a SAPUI5 application that needs to be displayed inside the portal.
The problem is that the SAPUI5 app doesn't display in in the content area, no erors, just a blank page, you have to set the iview to open in a seperate headerless window, then it works. But it needs to work in the content area.
Our findings: a possible cause is that the IE mode when inside the Portal content area is IE5 Quirks, and when it displays in a new window, the mode changes to a more recent and acceptable mode for SAPUI5, IE9.
Is there any solution to this? We get the same result with both URL iView and using the SAPUI5 iView in content provided by SAP. We are on NW 7.4

Hi Antonette,
As Lawrence explained the reason is indeed that quirks and standards mode can't run together on the same page (not only in portal but it's a limitation by MS).
Since your framework page is in IE5 quirks mode the UI5 application doesn't run in the content area, you can run it by selecting in the iView properties "Launch in a new headerless window (strandards)", that will open the UI5 application in a new window and will work.
If you wish to run UI5 applications in the content area you can get latest SP of 7.4 and there you will have a new framework page: standards AFP, basically an AFP framework page that works in standards mode.
In that framework page you can run UI5 applications in the content area, however trying to run old applications (HTMLB, not WD) may fail, for WD you have a paramater you need to pass called sap-ie, passing it with the value of "Edge" will make sure WD applications run in standards mode as well.
When running the AFP in standards mode you will need to open your HTMLB and other old applications in a new headerless window or new window so you can see the content.

How to set full-screen page displaying automatically on portal.

one viewset included two views (named topView and detailView)
putting a table control in the detailView,boz of many columns of the table exceed the width of portal screen,which result in the topView is the same width to the detailView.both of the two views exceed out of the full-screen width.but i don't wanna move the topView when i drag scroll horizontal bar control. so i added a ScrollContainer into the detailView,and put the talbe control into it.
the confusoning is :i don't know how to set the the width of the ScrollContainer cotrol , to keep it full-page displaying any time on portal .
u know the IE'Screen resolution setting maybe different ,e,g,:1024786px and 800600px.

Give the width in % instead of mentioning in pixels.
ie. for full width, give 100%.
Make sure the layout is GridLayout.

You can't get rid of those icons because that means that you MUST connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and restore the device. You have no choice. There is no way to remove that from the screen. Something went wrong on the iPad and you need to restore it now.

The display of sub screen exceeds the sub screen area

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement, that i need to make changes to one of the screens in the standard transaction. I found there is a screen exit exist for this. This screen is called in the tab strip(In the standard transaction). I have done the screen changes in the sub screen. When calling the standard transaction this sub screen exceeds the sub screen area of the standard transaction tab strip. I know if the sub screen size is more than the sub screen area then scroll bars will be displayed automatically. But i am facing a strange problem that the display of sub screen exceeds the sub screen area. I need scrol bar instead of exceeding the sub screen.
Please help me to solve this problem
