Portal session in Lotus Notes browser

Hi Gurus,
In our portal we have enabled IWA..so when ever user click on the IE..its load with the home page of portal ( portal is set as default home page).
Till the time session is active, user can navigate from one pages to other. However when a user send link of any pages in lotus notes, and recipients click on the link..its is directed to home page..as the session is not available in lotus notes browser..I wanted to know that is there any way, or can we use redirect url ( they how) ..so that when a user click on the url in lotus notes ..they are taken to the desired page not the home page.
Thanks!!

If you are trying to configure your phone on your companys Blackberry Enterprise Server you need to get in contact with your IT Department as they are the ones who manage the server.

  • Lotus Notes browser

As a company, we're forced to use Lotus Notes. I have an issue on two out of five MAC computers, (meaning three are OK). The problem on two is that their browser setting for links in Lotus Notes to open to will not stay set. I have made sure their browser settings default to the correct one (one wants Safari, the other Firefox). (Of the three that work OK, two of us are using Firefox and one is using Safari, so either should work.) I've also gone into Mail (though we don't use it), and made sure its setting defaults to the browser of their choice.
Then, in Lotus Notes, I set and save the browser preference in locations and I go into their Lotus Notes address book and do the same there. All addresses related to their internet domain mimic what the OK computers have. These settings stay in place until these two computers are restarted, and then the Lotus Notes browser preferences have to be reset. I cannot figure out what is different on these two computers from the other three!
Another strange issue - on one of these computers, the Lotus Notes browser defaults to "2" whereas the other defaults to Internet Explorer (which is really strange, because IE has never been loaded on that computer!
For the record, all of us are on OS 10.6.3 and our Lotus Notes is 7.0.4. I don't know if this problem would go away if we moved up to Lotus Notes 8, but I understand until the rest of the company moves up to 8, we'd lose our instant messaging capability (with all the PC users). Besides, Lotus Notes 7.0.4 is working fine on three computers running OS 10.6.3. The three computers that are OK are two MacPro 2 x 2's and one MacPro Quad Core. The two computers with a problem are a new iMac 21 and a new Mini, both purchased last December.
Is there some other browser master default I'm overlooking (that I may have forgotten since I first set-up Lotus Notes 3 years ago)? I don't remember this problem earlier, though.
Any ideas to fix this pesky problem would be greatly appreciated. (I've not had any success finding an answer to this on the Lotus Notes forums!)

Ibm uses features not supported by the blackberry browser (and I don't think supported by any 3rd party blackberry browser either).

  • Urgent: Lotus Notes and TREX

    Hi,
We are planning to use SAP’s TREX to search for word documents and ppts embedded within Lotus Notes. However, we have a couple of queries regarding our requirement and would appreciate your help.
    1) Is it possible to use the TREX server for indexing documents within Lotus Notes without an Enterprise Portal platform (For Ex., Is it possible to set TREX as the default search engine of Lotus Notes?)?
If the above is not feasible then please read requirement 2:
    2) We are currently running Lotus Domino 6.5 and the portal platform is NW 04, SP15. I understand that there was a limitation of not being able to connect the portal with any Lotus Notes repository having version greater than 5.0.8. Does this restriction still exist?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and suitably rewarded.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vibhu

    Hello Vibhu,
regarding 1) in the notes client, the search button actually contains a dropdown. This dropdown list may also contain HTTP URLs (e.g. in the standard R6 client you find AIL, Altavista and some other search engines linked). You may think of adding the TREX URL also there
regarding 2) please use the KM repository manager by Conet for doing so. To do so, please take a look athe the portal Content portfolio here on SDN or direcly access the business packgage at:
    https://www2.iviewstudio.com/sdn/detail_view/index.cfm?action=package_information&CatalogSet=Vendor%20Content&ItemID=17344&CFID=7410541&CFTOKEN=5471887

  • Portal session not being terminated. browser "unload" event

This line of code is in the portallauncher.default and eventually causes the problem:
    EPCM.subscribeEvent("urn:com.sapportals.portal:browser", "unload", releaseProducerSessions);
releaseProducerSessions eventually calls a portal component
WSRPSessionRelease.. which is causing the problem.
When we upgraded from EP 6.0 to NW 2004, users started recieving the Netweaver Login Screen when they logged out and logged back in, in the same browser. We think this error occurs because NW 2004 implements Web Services Remote Portal functionality.
We are using SiteMinder as a third party session management tool.
What we found was that the Siteminder session was being killed but the Portal session was not. Therefore, when users logged back in they would see the generic Netweaver Login Screen, and they could actually just hit "enter" and continue to the portal.
A successful logoff, users clicked the logoff button, the DSM terminator was being called, thus killing the portal session, then a form was submitted redirecting the users the the siteminder loggoff page, which logs the users off siteminder.
When the logoff failed, we found that after the DSM Terminator was called
and before the page was being redirected, a portal component
(WSRPSessionRelease) was being called, which in turn, RECREATED the portal session. So the user never actually gets logged off from the portal.
We found that the WSRPSessionRelease component is set to
a "browser" "unload" event when the portallauncher.default component is first loaded. This is the same component that is being called when the user clicks the "X" to force close the browser.
Not everytime is the WSRPSessionRelase component being called before the redirect to the siteminder logg off page. Sometimes this component is called after the redirect, and we find that this is a successful loggoff.
    The component is:
    irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.wsrp.coreconsumer.WSRPSessionRelease

    Hello Michael,
The 'log off' issue is a known issue with Portal since EP 6
Had faced similar issue and SAP suggests to redirect the 'log off' link to another non-SAP site...like your company intranet site.
This will help the session to break.
There are 1-2 SAP Notes on this as well.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to integrate Lotus Notes and upload Help Docs into SAP Portal

    Hi Experts,
I got 2 questions with regards to content in portal...
    1) I got nearly 30 to 40 help documents (PDF & WORD) which users may refer when accssing CRM & BW system in portal.
Currently they are stored in the Local Drive....i am trying to find a way to upload them portal...so the users can always have the docs the require
    and
    2) Can any one please update me in detail ...on how to integrate Lotus Notes into portal and configure Single Sign on  currently my Portal and Lotus Notes user id's are different
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Geethika,
    1. IF documents are on your local computer, Netweaver Portal has a KMC Addon (Knowledge Management and Collaboration). Within KM it is possible to run a Document Management Scenario. You can Create Folders within KM, give Access Rights to Users, Create an Iview to browse KM Folder then add that Iview to a Page or Role so users can access it.
For this, please chech the online documentation via http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/20/b46d42ea0b3654e10000000a155106/content.htm
    2. For Lotus Notes Integration, your Lotus Notes Server must be running on Windows Platform.
For the rest configuration please check the following:
Single Sign-On from SAP Enterprise Portal to Lotus Domino
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/94c4e390-0201-0010-09a3-d09e11b80671
I've the latest version of SAP Ticket Verifier, if you couldn't find it, I can send it to you.

  • Portal session does not teminate from completly.

    Hi Guys,
I need a favor, we are implementing Portal 700, having some issues when we connect from browser and if teminate user from visual administrator it terminates session user and admin but when I refresh my browser re-connect with Portal without asking password, can anyone please help me in regards.
    following parameters are already set
    MaxUsersCount and SessionExpirationPeriod
Thanks very and hope hear soon,
    Reh.

    Reh,
Unfortunately you can't kick people off, without them closing their browser.  This is why:
When they log on to the portal, they get issued with a saplogonticket (cookie).  This is valid for between 8 and 12 hours (depending on what you set it to).  Whenever they access the portal, it sends this cookie, is validated by the portal and in effects authenticates them.
When you kill a session, it kills the session, but does not delete the saplogonticket.  So when they access the portal using the same browser session, it sends the saplogonticket cookie, this is valid, so it creates a new session for them and allows them to access the portal.
    I hope that makes sense.

  • Why does Firefox 5 open external (internet, SMTP) e-mail in the browser rather than the Lotus Notes Client?

Using Lotus Notes as the system's primary mail client, '''some''' users experience external mail being opened in the browser rather than the the client. When they revert back to using an older version as the OS default browser, or indeed a different browser altogether, this does not happen.
Again, this does not happen with all installations of 5.0 - just a few.

go to "preferences" in Lotus Notes and enable "disable embodded browser for MIME mail" and it shoudn't open the browser anymore

    Dear
You will have to create one System for R/3 Server Access, Once you have created that you will have to maintain User mapping for System Access for each individual users, who want to access the DMS Documents from Portal.

  • Open a Lotus Notes Document as a SPRO HomePage URL resource in Portal

    Hello,
I have specified the link to a Lotus Notes document as a URL to Resource while defining a Service in the SPRO HomePage Framework. This service is called when the corresponding link is clicked from the area group page for ESS.
When I click on the corresponding link in the Area Page, the link is unable to open the certain content due to a security error being thrown. However, the left navigatiopn opens and when we click on the relevant link from the left navigation, the corresponding content is opened as required.
Is there any configuration which needs to be taken care of, to bypass the initial security error? I would really appreciate any available pointer on this scenario.
    Cheers!

After more testing and some pointers from Brian Hayes, I have it working.  If the Tidal client is running via Citrix it won't work.  The Tidal client has to be installed locally on the same machine as Lotus Notes because the document will open in Lotus Notes, not as a web page.
