Portal upgrade path for 10.1.2 to 10.1.4 for OracleAS Standard Edition One?

Is there a portal upgrade path for 10.1.2 to 10.1.4 for OracleAS Standard Edition One? If so, could someone please point me to the document/download?

Hope this helps,

  • GoldenGate for Standard Edition One

    Hi,
I'm considering implementing GoldenGate for bidirectional active-active replication between 2 Oracle Standard Edition databases.
I couldn't find any reference about the deference between GG on Enterprise Edition and Standard Edition.
So I would like to know what are the restrictions for SE1?
Can GG work as bidirectional active active replication include DDL on SE1?
    Thanks, Ofir.

    Hello,
I can not find documentation on licensing restrictions on Streams (SE/SE1) you speak.
Only this is documented in the manual license (https://docs.oracle.com/database/121/DBLIC/toc.htm) this restriction:
With SE / SE1 capture is async , that is you  could not perform real-time capture.
But not indicate any restriction more.
In this case if you want to use real-time capture, GG would have to be used in classic mode.
Any way, A Golden Gate licence you need.

  • OWM is available for Oracle Standard Edition

    Hi there,
I'd like to know if I can use Workspace Manager
buying just the Oracle Standard Edition. In case
OWM is not available for the standard edition,
which separate packages do I need to buy to be
able to use with Oracle Spatial?
    Regards,
    Karina

    Karina
Yes, OWM is included with the standard edition of the database.
    regards

  • Is Oracle Application Server Standard Edition One available for purchase?

Is Oracle Application Server Standard Edition One available for purchase? I don't see it listed in the online Oracle store as available.
More information about this version of OAS can be found at http://www.oracle.com/appserver/feature_seone.html Would like to know
    1) when it will be available
    2) the differences between this version and OAS standard edition.
    Thanks
    Dev

    Yes,
Oracle Linux 5.5 is actually inline with the related version of Red Hat linux as it runs on the same kernel.
So, yes, it is certified on this environment.
Also remember that OBIE Standard Edition is functionally the same ast OBIE Entprise Edition, the core difference are the licensing limitations of the Standard Edition which is based on the # of end-users.
Please award points if this was helpful.

  • Oracle Standard Edition and GoldenGate for replication?

    The Question:
Can GoldenGate run in a Standard Edition RAC ==> Enterprise Edition standalone environment and perform the required rule-based replication without requiring an upgrade of our RAC Standard Edition to RAC Enterprise Edition?
    The environment:
Source System: 2-node RAC running Standard Edition 10.2.0.5 (RHEL5 x86-64)
    Target System: 1-node running Enterprise Edition 11.2.0.1 (RHEL5 x86-64)
    The requirement:
Lossless one-way replication in "real time" of selected schema while excluding selected DDL/DML based on multiple rules.
    Present solution:
LogMiner, but there is a known LogMiner bug (p8977287) that causes data loss when one RAC node goes down or is evicted from the cluster. The bug is reportedly patched in 11.2.0.2 and is slated to be fixed in 12.x.
    Thx.

Yes. Simple enough, it can extract from SE, even XE!

  • Licence for Development Oracle standard edition

    Hi,
I am having named user licence for the standard edition Oracle database.
Can I create multiple instances for the same machine and redstribute my licences internally?
Can we run multiple versions of oracle on same machine under one license ?

WARNING: None of this internet advice has any legal standing and you would be absolutely recommended to confirm with your local Oracle sales representative.
Can I create multiple instances for the same machine and redstribute my licences internally?Yes, as long as you have enough named user licenses to cover all of the users who will be connecting to all those instances
Can we run multiple versions of oracle on same machine under one license ?Yes, as long as you have enough named user licenses to cover all of the users who will be connecting to all those instances of different versions
If you have a large number of users (say > 50) it may be cheaper to purchase a processor license for the server. You will need to check this with your local Oracle sales representative as processor licensing has its own licensing metrics e.g. O/S platform and CPU.
Note that what my sales rep says is ok may not be what your sales rep says is ok, so get confirmation in writing for reference.

  • How do I download standard edition one 10g for linux?

I want to evaluate standard edition one, but I can't find where to download it. All I can find is standard edition. I am a OPN member.

    Justin,
Is that means i can install SE on my 2 CPU server and let Oracle Know that they have to treat this as SE1?
Oooo, i will be saving lot of $$$ with this if its true.

  • ADF and WebCenter 11g libraries upgrade paths for WLS 12.1.3

We want to upgrade one of our WLS from 10.3.6 to 12.1.3.
    (1) The application hosted on this instance uses the following ADF and WebCenter libraries (also deployed on the same WLS). Please confirm if these can be deployed in WLS12c without any changes or if we need to check on an upgrade path to ADF or Webcenter 12c components as well:
    adf.oracle.businesseditor(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    adf.oracle.domain(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    adf.oracle.domain.webapp(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    oracle.adf.dconfigbeans(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    oracle.adf.desktopintegration(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    oracle.adf.desktopintegration.model(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    oracle.adf.management(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    oracle.bi.adf.model.slib(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    oracle.bi.adf.view.slib(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    oracle.bi.adf.webcenter.slib(1.0,11.1.1.2.0)
    oracle.bi.composer(11.1.1,0.1)
    oracle.bi.jbips(11.1.1,0.1)
    oracle.bpm.mgmt(11.1.1,11.1.1)
    oracle.webcenter.composer(11.1.1,11.1.1)
    oracle.webcenter.skin(11.1.1,11.1.1)
    oracle.wsm.seedpolicies(11.1.1,11.1.1)
    orai18n-adf(11,11.1.1.1.0)
(There are other libraries too but not anything related to ADF or Webcenter)
    (2) We also have EM extension template in WLS 10.3.6. How can we upgrade this? Do we need to delete this and install FMW infra 12c with the additional DB schema and then try to extend the 12c domain?

Moved your thread to the WLS Communities since you are not asking if products are certified.
    Thanks,
    Lisa Fedynich

  • Upgrade Oracle 9i Standard Edition

    Hi,
I have a requirement to migrate my Oracle 9i Standard Edition to Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition on Windows 2000 and on Linux
What is the best way for me to do this?
1.I was thinking of taking exports of all the user tablespaces.
2.De-installing oracle standard edition from the machines that have to be migrated.
    3. Install Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition.
    4. Import the user tablespaces again.
The amount of data that is to be exported and reimported is about 100 MB. very small amount.
I was wondering if there is a better way to do the migration- perhaps run a migration wizard (but the universal installer did not contain any such thing)
Would the steps that I have outlined work? Or are there any gotchas that I need to look out for?
Many thanks for any posts in this regard.

    Hi,
Hi, Is there any cost involved to upgrade Oracle 9i standard edition to 11g? The license was purchased in 2004.
As updated by Jim you need pay all these missed years  since 2004.
I recommend you to take new license for 11g that will save huge amount.
    thanks,

We also used following when finishing the standby DB after running "recover standby database;" for a few archive log file:
    alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session;
    ======================================================================================
    This is the status:
    SQL> select OPEN_MODE, SWITCHOVER# ,REMOTE_ARCHIVE ,ARCHIVELOG_CHANGE#,SWITCHOVER_STATUS, DATABASE_ROLE from v$database;
    OPEN_MODE SWITCHOVER# REMOTE_A ARCHIVELOG_CHANGE# SWITCHOVER_STATUS DATABASE_ROLE
MOUNTED 495550636 ENABLED 1.2201E+13 SESSIONS ACTIVE PHYSICAL STANDBY

    The DB version is 10.2.0.5
I can do this to apply at standby DB:
    SQL> set autorecovery on
    SQL> recover standby database;
Then I tried to run this to leave the session:
    alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session;
    Do not seen any apply.

We have the directory /u02/cntus/redolog and /u03/cntus/redolog. But nothing in there. Should we create redo for it? Is this a separate issue?
    Thanks!

  • Database Upgrade from 10.2.0.3 standard edition to 10.2.0.4 enterprise

    Hi Guys,
We are running oracle standard edition 10.2.0.3 in solaris 10 having size of 1TB. We would like to upgrade this database/database server to 10.2.0.4 enterprise edition.
    I am planning as below:-
    1) upgrade 10.2.0.3 standard edition to 10.2.0.3 enterprise edition first.
2). upgrade it to 10.2.0.4 enterprise edition.
can anybody suggest me if its a best way ?
    or
    1). uninstall the standard editiont.
2). install the 10.2.0.4 enterprise edition
3). create a database in enterprise edition
4). import the data of standard edition.
    Regards,

As you are using export/import to migrate database to 10.2.0.4. enterprise edition.
So there is no need to upgrade 10.2.0.3 standard edition.
    1. So take export from 10.2.0.3 standard edition.
    2. install the 10.2.0.4 enterprise edition and Create new database in 10.2.0.4 enterprise edition
    3. import
    4. Drop old database after taking backup. Uninstall 10.2.0.3 standard edition

  • Is Standard Edition free for development purpose

    Hello,
I am using Oracle 10g express edition on a 32-bit Redhat Enterprise Linux 4. My test database have come upto 2gb and after that the database stopped working. I have been told to change to 64-bit OS through forums because of the 2gb file size limitation for 32-bit OS. When I checked the Oracle downoad site, there is no 32-bit Oracle express edition 10g. There is a 64-bit Oracle standard edition. Is Oracle 10g Standard Edition free for development purposes? What about Oracle 11g Standard edition?

All Oracle software, though, is available for download from OTN with a license that allows you to prototype your application. Once the application is beyond the prototype phase, you'd need to purchase an appropriate license for your development environment, but you may just be looking at prototyping...
As well, note that the database size and RAM restrictions in the express edition would not be expected to change if Oracle ever released a 64-bit version. The whole point of those restrictions is to ensure that the free express edition doesn't cannibalize sales of the standard edition databases.

  • Recommended upgrade path for 9.0.2.0.1

    Hi,
Could you please help me in finding the recommended upgrade path for Oracle Application Server 9.0.2.0.1?
What would be the sequence of upgrade and can we install in the existing oracle homes?
The current scenario is given below:
Host #1 - Infrastructure Installation with OID database (9.0.2.0.1)
    - Seperate portal database with portal schema
    Host #2 - Middle tier installation (9.0.2.0.1)
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sindhiya V.

If you are upgrading to 10.1.2, the upgrade process is automated and the error reporting is very good (in case you run into any issues). Please check the Upgrade and Compatibility Guide available at
    (For Windows - http://iasdocs/iasdl/1012win_doc/upgrade.1012/upgrade/toc.htm
(Oracle® Application Server Upgrade and Compatibility Guide 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) for Microsoft Windows )
    and For Unix - http://iasdocs/iasdl/1012sol_doc/upgrade.1012/upgrade/toc.htm).
(Oracle® Application Server Upgrade and Compatibility Guide 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) for UNIX )
(there should be the same doc available on OTN, so search by the doc name)
The upgrade of AS to 10.1.2 has gone through complete QA cycle and is a robust and easy process.
If you are upgrading to 10.1.3.x, then it's a different process; since there are lots of significant new features in 10.1.3. You will need to install the new Application Server and deploy your application.
Note, for database access, Oralce has re-implemented the dataso urce in 10.1.3.x releases. so for the config file data-sources.xml, it's automatically converted to the new format file underneath. So your existing data-sources.xml should work. But you could use admin.jar command to convert the file manually as well. please check service guide data source chapter.
