  • User Management for e-Commerce ERP

    Hello Experts,
    I am working on e-Commerce ECC6.0 version.
Had some questions in the area of user management:
    A)
The scenario is that the e-commerce application needs to be integrated to Poral, now my doubt is which userType option is the best to be chosen for such cases.
Is it mandatory to use user type "ERP e-Commerce logon via UME"?
I have not worked with UME before and hence if you can also share some links / pointers in that area?
what other SSO logon options are available?
    B) In case there is no portal and e-Commerce is working as standalone application:
There is already a ECC6.0 system in place where until now customers have been maintained. The client has been using a custom Online Store application on which login was via the customer id. Now they want to use e-Commerce for ERP, but still want the logon to be via the customer id only. In such case the only option that I can think of is via "R3_SU05Customer_LoginCustomerNo" userType. But since su05 type is not recommended now, I was wondering if there could be some other option as well? Can you guide..
    Thanks

UME makes the user management simple and central to the Security / System group.

UME is not something any developer / functional analyst will do. We should leave that to the security group. If you insist, here is a starter [Help on UME.|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e5/618a3eacd49076e10000000a114084/frameset.htm]

There are some steps on migrating from SU05 to SU01. You can always have the current customer number as the alias for the internet user.

  • User Management in SRM too Difficult

    Hi Guys,
I'm in SRM Add-on component in ECC 6.0.
I've some doubt regarding how the user management has to be handled.
    Our Scenario:
1> We are not going to generate users from the Web. So there is no question of users requesting for ID from SRM screen.
2> All user id has to be maintained in SAP.
3> Roles and assignment of authorization has to be done in SAP
4> SRM will be just for procurement, not for user management
I know SAP has a transaction USERS_GEN, which takes care of most of these processes. But unfortunately we don't have USERS_GEN transaction. Its not supported in out system.
So we are following a big loop to get the users correctly attached to Org Structure. I'm describing below the whole process and can anybody tell me an alternative to this loop.
    1. Creation of Personnel number by PA30 transaction
    2. Creation of User id by SU01
    3. Assignment of User ID to Personnel number
    4. Assign users to the Org structure
    5. Now I run the consistency check for Business Partner. It gives an error that 'CP number XYZ has not been attached to S PQR. So here I know the CP number.
    6. By transaction PSO3, I key in the attributes to the CP in above step.
    7. By transaction PO13, I create a releationship between CP and the Org unit
    8. By transaction PRAA, I create employee vendor. It is necessary as I've to maintain Contact person for employee. In the vendor master I maintain the contact person.
    9. In SRM user management I maintain the Goods Recepient for every user.
After I've done all these 9 steps, I can create SC. This seems to be too difficult. Anybody has any idea how to manage all these? I'm sure there is some alternative to automate these processes. Can anybody tell me how to go about it.
    Thanks
    Debashish

    Hi Deb,
" We are not going to generate users from the Web "
so you can not use the link "manage user data" in the administrator log in ??
that was one alternative to users_gen!

  • User Management (for dummies?)

    reposting from a different forum...
I'm trying to use User Management and my head hurts...
...I'm on 11.5.10.2 ATG RUP5 and I've tried to connect all the dots referencing the User Management Admin Guide. I'm trying to create a role that I could grant to an apps user, allowing the user to grant a subset of possible responsibilities to other users - essentially a delegated user admin, as I understand it. I get close, but I'm always off - either I can't limit the role to just the single 'Search/Edit Users' functions, or I can't get any menu functions to display, or something else. <cry>
In one place, the Admin Guide gives steps for defining user administration privileges for roles; in another place, it talks about role inheritance hierarchies; in another place, separating navigation menus and access control. Via the forms interface, I tried looking at the definition of the menu 'User Management: Top Level Menu' -- it seems to contain submenus that contain redundant submenus. Once again, a bit confusing to me. For example, what do I keep / delete when I only want a delegated user admin responsibility to have an HTML navigation with just 1 subtab for 'users'? Do I use this menu and prevent access to the other 'tabs' or functions by a security policy or do I need to build a new menu?
I'm thinking the seeded roles have all the components needed (functions, security policies, menu navigations, etc.) to demonstrate an integrated example -- but I haven't been able to put it all together.
Could someone help with a clear, simple, example?

    Hello,
In one place, the Admin Guide gives steps for defining user administration >privileges for roles; in another place, it talks about role inheritance hierarchies; >in another place, separating navigation menus and access control.
Could someone help with a clear, simple, example? I am working on something relative maybe helpful in which it has decided to make delegate administrators (local administrators) the departmental heads but obviously training them might be a different story.
Normally not many new menus are used as there are many seeded menus that can be used instead atleast in my case it has been. Instead of creating new meuns trying altering the current ones.
Try to understand role inheritance hierarchies as follows there are two roles sales person and a sales manager (this is a simple example), sales manager being the higher role will have (all functions, security policies, menu navigations, etc) of the role sales person. Mangement of users can be much easier.
Normally using on exclusions of functions works for me. Please ask if there any confusions or doubts?

  • Portal Users name for auditing

    Hi,
How can i get the name of portal users. Some one told me that there is some Portal_api through which i can get Portal user and then i can write custom code to insert that name for auditing purpose in tha database table. Can any one tell me what that Portal_api is? If any has done this before then can you expalin it with some example.
Your help in this matter will be highly appreciated.

    muhammad
I can't tell you the exact name of any particular api but I can tell you where a good place to look.
If you are familiar with any of the MONITOR functions on the Oracle main page, there is one sub category for "chart by user". The contents for these are located under the navigator -> contents -> monitor -> chart by user.
I haven't drilled down far enough to find any specific calls, but since documentation seems so lacking for these thints, I have to go find an example to take apart for the pieces I need.
    Hope this helps.

  • The URL in Solution Manager for SRM Standard Configuration

    Hi Experts,
We all know that after SRM 5.0, all standard configuration guid are presented as URL in SAP Solution Manager like below:
    http://help.sap.com/SCENARIOS_BUS2005/helpdata/EN/ac/136341acd3001de10000000a155106/frameset.htm
My question is: is there any other way to find these configuration url? If I don't have solution manager enviroment, how can I find these urls? Many thanks.

    Hi Dinesh,
Thank you for your reply.  I checked this site before(maybe one year ago). At that time, there was no configuration guide for 5.0. Now it's great...
My question is there any place contained those urls in solution manager. I can't find those urls in any configuration guide. SAP make such a configuration online help, why it doesn't open for those peopel who don't use solution manager. It confused me...
Anyway, thank you very much for your reply.

  • SRM -- MDM -- ECC integration for central contract management for SRM 7.0

    Hi there,
I am questioned by a client with respect to the possibility of the following scenario -
    1. There are several SAP back end systems in place.
    2. SRM 7.0 will be implemented as single sourcing system.
    3. The SAP back end systems carry different material master codes for the same material and this will remain the same and no cleaning effort to have a unique code across all systems is going to be done.
    4. If we use MDM in the mix - will it be possible for the SRM system to act as a central contracting solution and create a central contract with the unique material code in MDM.
    5. On distribution of this contract across to individual SAP back end system the back end should map the MDM code to correct material code in that respective system.
Any insights with respect to if this is possible with some enhancements or not at all possible will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Shantanu Joshi

  • User management for the Identity Management User Interface

    Hi everyone!
We have set up synchronization users from Identity Store in UME UI([Guides|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/304280b4-25d0-2b10-b6a4-89c27409dea7?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]).
When we assign the privilege priv: ume should be performed three tasks:
    1. creating UME user
    2. modify UME user
    3. Add Password
But we see the fulfillment of only 1 and 2 tasks.
Why not fulfilled the task number 3?

    Ivan,
In the workflow called "#Create UME user" from attached MCC files of the Guide,
Job "Add Password" will be executed only if the selected user does NOT have attribute MX_ENCRYPTED_PASSWORD set.
So, if the user on who you tried to provision UME privilege has already an MX_ENCRYPTED_PASSWORD defined correctly (DES3 encoded string), the job "Add Password" will not be executed.
To check this, get the MSKEY of the provision user and execute the following SQL query of the conditional task :
If you get a line in return, result is TRUE, else it's FALSE
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT mskey) FROM MXIV_SENTRIES WHERE is_id=%$glb.SAP_MASTER_IDS_ID% AND
((mskey IN (SELECT mskey FROM MXIV_SENTRIES WHERE attrname='MX_ENCRYPTED_PASSWORD' AND searchvalue LIKE '%' AND mskey= <Enter the MSKEY of the provision USER>)))

  • "Starting user manager for UID 120" loop during startup

    Hi guys,
Recently after not turning on my computer for a week and a half, I got this issue when I start up. Basically after I load into Arch Linux, that message loops for like 12 times before the computer gets stuck at a random part of the boot process. I think it is a hardware issue but I am unsure. Here's a pic of it below:

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
If you have a new installation and you do not have any data to preserve, the easiest thing is to go back, reformat and erase HDD, then reinstall software. If you have data on it that is not backed up the do an Archive and Install.
Please do post back with further questions or comments.

  • User Management in ESS Portal

    Dear Gurus.
I would like to request help on how to configure user management in the ESS portal by assigning to our Information Security Office (ISO) the resetting and unlocking of password only.  Is this possible without giving the assigned person an SAP Application Professional license?  We don't want to give this person access to R3 where he can create and assign SAP_ALL profile to himself.
We are just using SAP HCM and only HR people are given the SAP Application Professional license with access to R3.  Appreciate help on this, especially if you can tell me SAP Notes or documentation that will detail the step-by-step process.
    Thanks a lot.
    Ariel

    Hi Ariel,
Looks like this query is more related to SAP ECC (r/3) system, nothing related to portal user management. And the way i've see and also checked it's not possible to enable a ECC User only with Resetting & Unlocking the password. There are no auth-objects that can restrict the user to do so!!! This is neither possbile in Portal User Admin also..!
But still suggesting you to open a query in Basis Admin forum for admin-experts opinions.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks,

  • Current portal User ?

    Hi all,
Can somemone tell me how to get the current portal request in the Repository Manager. Because I need to have the current portal User and for that I need the request object in the RM.
    Plz. guide.
    It's urgent.
    Thanx in advance.

    Hi,
I think the solution could be:
    IPortalComponentRequest request =(IPortalComponentRequest) this.getProxy().getDynamicPage().getPageContext().getRequest
         IUserContext user = (IUserContext) request.getUser();
It works for me on the render() method of my layout controller.
I found the answer in this <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?messageID=549647#549647">thread</a>

  • Lookout 6.02 User Manager Non-Functional

When User Manager is launched from Lookout menu (6.02 Full Development Version),  a "User Manager for Domains" window opens and an error dialog with the same title says "Could not find domain controller for this domain."

Hmm..  do you perchance have LabVIEW / DSC 8.0 installed on the same machine?  I know LabVIEW / DSC 8.0 has added "domain" funtionality to the security stuff.  It could also be the latest Logos.
