Portal webservice - SP14 NWDS issue

Hi Experts,
Is it possible to create Portal webservice from SP14 - NWDS?
Issue: I have created a Portal service, trying to create a webservice from Portal service but I am not getting the Portal Webservice option (Select the Portal Service -> New -> Other -> Portal Application -> Create a new Portal Application Object -> Clicked on Next button -> Selected the Portal Service -> Next button ->Here I could able to see only three options ( (1)RF Component Wizard7.1.5 (2)Portal Component (3)Portal Service ). I am not getting the Portal webservice option. In my previous thread got the info that, in SP12 we could able to have the Portal webservice option. May I know the proper link to download the NWDS which supports Portal webservice from service market place?
Regards
Sara

Hi,
    From service market place http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks , choose NW04 or 04S. Choose source and destination patch, check WAS and others. From next page, you can check the box for studio alone for download.

  • Portal Webservice from Portal Service

    Hello community...
    I'm trying to build a Portal Webservice from a Portal Service, but the wizard doesn't appear in my Portal Application Object. There are only Portal Components, Portal Services and a RF Component Wizard. Are there any options configuring the NWDS to show the other wizards like the "Portal Webservice from Portal Service" one or do I have an old version of the nwds (7.0.14)?

    Hi Ozzie,
    in newer NWDS versions this wizard doesn't exist any more.
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/1f/4554426dd13555e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/1f/4554426dd13555e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] describes how to create a web service from a portal service.
    I personally didn't create a web service by this description however. I just created a normal Java class and created a Web Service out of this class (using EAR deployment).

  • Consume an RFC webservice in NWDS 7.0.9

    Is it possible to consume an RFC webservice in NWDS 7.0.9. Please provide me with the steps for the same.

    Runtime server local path should be:
    /usr/sap/EDH/JC04/j2ee/ -- if your WSDL is saved in a local path with only one folder say /wsdl/ then the WSDL should be located there as well as what the tutorial is said. So, in this case it should be:
    /usr/sap/EDH/JC04/j2ee/wsdl/myABAPWebService.wsdl

  • Portal WebService User Authentification error

    Hello all,
    I created a portal webservice similar to the one described in tutorial "Creating a Web Service in Enterprise Portal 6.0".
    When I tried to test it in Enterprise Portal Web Services Checker I got the error below:
    <b>The User Authentification is not correct to access to the Portal Service com.sap.portal.prt.soap.ContentService or the service was not found.</b>
    I already added group Everyone to my service in Portal Permissions and it still does not work.
    I read weblogs below but none helped me:
    1 - Unable to access portal service from web service..........urgent
    2 - IllegalAccessError when calling a WebService
    I checked the proxy settings and it seems to be ok.
    Does anyone have another suggestion?
    Regards,
    Mauricio

    I found the reason.
    I did not check End User checkbox for the Everyone group we inserted into Permissions of the Web Service.

  • Java.rmi.RemoteException - on deploying a webservice through NWDS.

    Hi All,
    We have created and successfully build a webservice application in NWDS.
    Now when the activity is activated in Activation view, the build goes fine but deployment gets aborted with the following error:
    Caught exception during application deployment from SAP J2EE Engine's deploy service:
    java.rmi.RemoteException: Cannot deploy application syngenta.com/crmws~usprvwebservice..
    Reason: Webservices common deployment exception! The reason is: Error occurred, trying to update web services for application
    The Runtime system is on SAP J2EE ENGINE CORE 7.00 - SPS 19.
    For the same issue i checked in SDN and found out a SAP NOTE - 956443, according to which 2 sda files 'webservices' and 'webservices_lib'  were to be deployed on the server.
    We have done the same and restarted the engine also. But still on deployment we got the same error again.
    Just wanted to know the workaround for this issue and whether some updated version of this SAP Note does exist?
    Regards,
    Shailesh

    Hi All,
    Now the above issue has been resolved and the webservice is getting deployed successfully, and is visible under Web service Navaigator of the desired server.
    But when i am clicking on the webservice name i am getting an error:
    Cannot download WSDL from http://<name>:<port>/webservicename/Config1?wsdl: java.lang.NullPointerException.
    Could you please help out with this issue.

  • Portal WebService and Complex Parameter (Array) Response

    Hello Colleagues,
    i use the function „Create WebService from Portal Service“ in the NWDS.
    It Works fine for methods that take or give flat Parameters like this:
    public String getValue(String value) {
    return value;
    But I need to use Complex structures. My first try was this method :
    public String[] getArray(String value) {
    String[] valueArray = new String[5];
    for (int i = 0; i < valueArray.length; i++) {
          valueArray<i> = value;
    return valueArray;
    This works too, but i only have unnamed parameters. Also there is no semantic in my parameters and i can not identify them (only by order). So i need to take a method like this:
    public File[] getFiles(String value) {
    File[] files = new File[5];
    for (int i = 0; i < files.length; i++) {
        files<i>.setFilename("filename " + i);
        files<i>.setCreated(new Date(System.currentTimeMillis()));
        files<i>.setDescription("description " + i);
        files<i>.setLastModified(new Date(System.currentTimeMillis()));
        files<i>.setContent(new byte[20]);
    return files;
    I put the class "File" in the same package as the Service class. I also make a Interface to the File class.
    When i deploy this to my Portal i get an "error_NoClassDefFoundError" in the soap response. What is the right way to make an webservice from a Portalservice with an complex parameter response?
    Every hint is welcome.
    Best regards,
    Patrick

  • Error in Consuming Portal Webservice

    Hi ,
    I created a portal web service(RetrieveAndValidateUserService) and then consumed this portal service in an AbstractPortal Component application(RetrieveValidateUserComp).
    On deploying that application on portal I get the following error -

    1. I added a Private Sharing Reference Property in portalapps.xml of the application -
    <application-config>
        <property name="PrivateSharingReference" value="com.pseg.webservice.RetrieveAndValidateUser"/>
      </application-config>
    2. I modified the Java-Build Path to include the Portal Service Application.
    3. I deployed the Webservice par on the portal. I can see the service listed under Applications in
    System Administration->System configuration->Service Configuration.
    Is there anything i am missing or doing incorrectly?

    Hi Lokesh
    I created a Portal Service consuming a webservice.
    It turns out the Private Sharing Reference that i gave had some fault. That's corrected now.
    Now on deploying the Portal Application I created for accessing the service, i am getting the following error -
    java.lang.Exception: The parameter Accounts is null before the serialization but in WSDL definition this field cannot be null
    Here, we need to pass this parameter "Accounts" as NULL only, for test purpose.

  • Tree structure of portal application in NWDS

    Hi all,
    Im new to portal applications and I did not under stand the tree structure that appears after we start portal application in ep perspective in NWDS. Especially the PORTAL-INF and src.code in the tree structure .If any body has any relevant information or document about it please send me.

    portal applications are same as the Web applications developed in Java, JSP ....
    PORTAL-INF is same as the WEB-INF in normal web application structure.
    in Web application we create .war file whereas here we create as .par file.
    in web application we have web.xml inside WEB-INF folder where as here we have portalapp.xml.
    src.core and src.api is used as the source code folder.
    You can check this in "Java Build path" if u go to the project properties.
    Hope this give u a small idea on portal files structure.
    cheers.

  • Sharepoint browse portal from AD users issue

    Dear All,
    for my sharepoint 2013, i am able to browse the portal from system admin user with no issue but not for AD users !!
    it keep showing windows security credentials required despite i put the correct credentials,
    what should i do?
    please help

    Hi iwadds,
    According to your description, my understanding is that SharePoint keeps on prompting for authentication.
    I suggest you test with IE and add the site into Trusted Site.
    If you configure proxy server for IE, please try to bypass it.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc750194.aspx
    If this issue still exists, please disable lookback check. You can do as the following blog:
