PortalRolesSearch

Good morning,
I have created the index with:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/b2/d59a4271c80a31e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
But when I am going to search appears the following error:
Search Failure
Error during search occurred - com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException
An unexpected severe error occurred during the search call.  If the situation persists, inform your system administrator.
If I delete the index of portalRolesSearch, the search is correct.
The version is SP15
Thanks,
Mercedes

Hi Mercedes,
Not sure of this could be related to your current problem but just wanted to check....
Did you try searching for any iview or pcd object using the search tab which is provided in Portal Content second level navigation......
Awaiting Reply.
Warm Regards,
Ritu R Hunjan

Go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Repository Managers (Show advanced option) -> PCD repository.
Choose the Edit option and deactivate the Hide in Root Folder.

  • PortalRolesSearch Configuration

We have enabled the portalRolesSearch index in our Netweaver 7.01 portal.  We make extensive use of the related links functionality in our iViews.  The problem is if you have iViews with related links to one iView (example: Dental), when searching for Dental, you will get all of the iViews that have a related link to Dental, not just the Dental iView.  How do we stop related links from being included in the index?  I'm guessing it must be a configuration parameter for the portalRolesSearch index, but I have not been able to locate any documentation on additional parameters.
    Thanks.

  • Indexing folders in PCD

    Hi all,
I want to index a few iViews, so the users are able to find them through portal search.
For this reason the pcd-folder is now visible in km content and the index service "portalRolesSearch" is enabled,
like discribed in the thread: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3322
But now, when I create an index with the service "portal roles search" and try to define a datasource, I'm not able
to save this index. There comes an error "Error while saving null".
Do I need one more setting to enable search for one folder out of the pcd?
I am able to save the datasource pcd, but while indexing there also appears an error.
    Can you please help further?
    Thanks in advance!
    Lydia

    Hi,

  • PCD Index

I'm trying to open the PCD for searching of iViews and Pages.  I followed SAP documentation.  Enabled the portalRolesSearch service in
Index Management Service.  I made the PCD visible in the root directory.  Restarted portal as needed.  I then created the index,
but it appears to be stopped and I cannot get it started.
If I try to reindex from the Index Admin screen, I get message: "Operation failed Method not supported on PCDSearchIndex."
When I try to reindex from the Index Monitoring screen, I get a runtime error:
    pcd:portal_content/administrator/super_admin/super_admin_role/com.sap.portal.system_administration/
    com.sap.portal.system_admin_ws/com.sap.portal.system_configuration/com.sap.km.AdminConfig/
    com.sap.km.AdminSystemIndexes/relatedItems/RelatedLinks/com.sap.km.CrawlerIndexMonitor
    Component Name : com.sap.km.cm.crawlerindexmonitor"
Is there something that I missed?  I had this working on our Sandbox, but had to delete the index for other reasons.
Now I can't get it to work on Dev or Sandbox.
Anyone know what I missed or what the fix would be?
    Thanks,
    Shelly

    Hello,
as far as I know it is not neccessary and possible to reindex a portal roles search index. Such an index has its resources already stored in the system and does not need to start crawlers to collect them as it is done for Trex indexes.
You only have trouble if you cannot find something if you are searching in this index.

    Achim

  • Portal Roles Search & TREX Search

    Hello,
We need to search some pages and documents. The search results should be based on the permissions set for that user on the pages and documents. We created Portal Roles Search. It works fine for pcd objects. But it doesn't work for documents.
When we create an index with TREX Search service, it works for documents. But it doesn't consider the permissions.
When there are 2 search indexes, one with TREX Search and the other with Portal Roles Search, the TREX Search throws WcmException.
    Any ideas?

    Rukmani

    Hi Sudha,
    Portal Roles Search
The objects found using the portalRolesSearch index service in the PCD cache are converted to KM objects and can be displayed in the search results list.
