Portege M600 - Nothing Appeared On Screen (After Shut On)

Hello again all,
So, yesterday, all of sudden I had no voice in my Portege M600. And today, I had no computer at all!!!
I have no clue of what is goin on. Yesterday I still used my laptop until around 23:00. And today, I tried to shut it on around mid day, but it was nothing appear on the screen. I pressed the on button and the power light is on, so did the light of the processor. But the light of processor on just for a couple seconds and off again. There was no noise that I use to hear when the processor is running. I let it for minutes, hoping that it will work. But it was still not working. Then, I decided to take off the baterry to shut it down, coercively.
I have tried to shut it on again for 3/4 times. But it still doesn't work. Nothing appear on the screen. Just the light of power and light of portege symbol are on (well.. as I have described the light of processor is on but for just a couple seconds).
What's happened to my laptop??
And how should I do now??
For information, I live in city near Stuttgart (Germany). I googled that Toshiba Service center is in Neuss, where Neuss is far from my place. And I am on my examination week now (so it's impossible to go to Neuss). So, what should I do?

Very good question but I think you should ask this question someone who has checked your notebook and ran some diagnostic tests
Simply said you should contact the ASP in your country and should ask for the further handling
The M600 is not very old and I assume the warranty is valid. In such case the faulty part should be replaced for free.

Try to launch your Mac in Safe mode by taking these steps:
- Click on the Apple sign() at the upper left corner of the Desktop, select 'Shut down' from a drop-down menu;
- Wait until your computer turns off, then press the Power button(⌽);
- Immediately after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift(⇧) key. It should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone;
- Release the Shift(⇧) key when you see a grey Apple sign() and the progress bar below;
This will force the system to perform several maintenance routines and load essential system software.
Once you've seen the Desktop
- Open Disk Utility application:
1. Click on Finder at the bottom of your Desktop;
2. Select Applications folder from Finder's left sidebar and then open Utilities folder (or press Command(⌘)-Shift(⇧)-U), double-click on Disk Utility icon;
- Choose your main hard drive from the left sidebar ('Macintosh HD', usually);
- Click on 'Verify Disc' at the bottom right corner, your Mac will perform a diagnostic test. Click on 'Repair Disk' if prompted to fix problems, or follow instructions given on the Disk Utility window;

Wait until it will finish and restart your mac

Sometimes Firefox 5 opens perfectly and sometimes it opens and stuff is missing from the toolbars and NOTHING appears on screen even though the address appears and it says done.

I a running Vista 64 bit on a HP touchsmart relatively new computer. I have been using Firefox 3 and have had nothing but troubles since I downloaded 4. Finally got that to work and now that I have downloaded 5 sometimes it works perfectly and sometimes when I open it seems to load up another version and nothing appears in the screen area even though it says in the address bar it is at the home screen (or any other site I go to). If I completely close out Firefox and my AT&T communication Manager dial up modem and then reopen it will sometimes then open the proper version perfectly - any thoughts??

Well since you asked, On my old system which I am still using, I experience
the blank frame on a regular basis but usually only when I have about 20 or more instances open with more then 850 meg of memory in use by firefox 25.0.1, also it tends to crash when I approach a gig in memory usage. I never complained about that since that system is an older dual core that was in place upgraded from vista to win7 pro so it is a special case that may not be good for evaluation. I plan to move to the Lenovo as soon as I am confident it is stable then I will rack it out with similar usage
and report any meaningful information.

Blue screen after shutting down

Hello, I'm have this issue with my Toshiba satellite. When I go to shut it down it goes to a blue screen that's saying it has encountered a error and etc and then at the bottom it says dumping files etc and the the computer will reboot back to the start up screen. I have sent it in for repair and they replaced the mother board and when I got it back it works for a while then it goes back to the something. So I updated the windows and then I have it start not wanting to start up so I was told but a Toshiba tech to do a total reboot which I did. It started working without any problems until I update windows then it starts going back to the blue screen after shutdown. Any got any ideas on how to fix this ? thanks trey

KDL-40EX720 horizontal thin lines that appear on screen after 10 minutes of turning on the TV

Hi, I have a KDL-40EX720 that is showing Horizontal Thin Lines on screen after around 10 minutes of turning on the TV (that is when TV is warm), this incident occured after three years of purchasing the TV so it is not covered anymore by the warranty policy or terms.
These thin lines are too many and very thin that seems that screen is partially showing blurred images, this means that my TV screen is split into a part that is like 80% of the screen and covered with these blurring thin lines while the 20% of the screen is still showing normal picture.
I tried several sources of input, to confirm that problem is not only from HDMI, but in all cases it is showing the same, even when you press on the menu button, the display is also affected by these lines.
I sent the TV to Sony Repair and Maintenance Center in my county Lebanon. They said that problem can be in T-CON board that is inside the TV screen, and they also said this board can't be replaced because it is built-in with the screen. Also they can't repair it.
They said that screen need to be replaced, but it will cost me around 600$ that is equal to the price of a new KDL-40W600.
It is obvious that my TV has a faulty component, and I need community support in letting me know what could be the cause of these horizontal thin lines, and if really T-CON board in KDL-40X720 can't be replaced or repaired.

Blue screen after shut down, service station won't work on reboot

A blue screen suddenly appeared on shut down yesterday, and my laptop immediately restarted after. On restart, a message popped up saying that Toshiba Service Station stopped working. Last time I shut down my laptop the blue screen doesn't appear anymore, but on reboot Toshiba Service Station still wont work.
My laptop is a Satellite L510 (PSLGJL-002001), running on Windows 7 Home Premium

Macbook suddenly frozen at grey Apple screen after shutting down

For the first time, I had a bit of trouble starting up my Macbook yesterday. I would turn it on 3 or 4 times, and it would stick at the grey Apple icon screen. The 5th try worked, albeit a little longer than normal, and led me to the login screen.
After a full day's work, I shut it down. Upon trying to start it up again this morning, I was greeted by the same grey loading screen, and nothing happened. I tried restarting it umpteen times, to no avail.
This Macbook is only 8 months old, and I've never experienced anything like this.
After reading about several similar cases like this in the forum (on my old clunky PC), I inserted my OSX cd, and ran disk utility. It seemed to find a dozen or so files that were misplaced or broken, and repaired them after verifying the issues. All was green and good to go, it said. Restarted the Macbook, and am still stuck at that grey Apple screen.
Unfortunately, I don't have a backup of my files, and a clean install of OSX is not an option (yes, I know, stupid on my part). If anything, I need to get in there one last time, and over several hours back up all my files, apps, and settings, then do a dreaded reinstall.
I've tried booting into safe mode (holding shift before powering the comp on), but it still wouldn't go any farther than that grey screen.
I'm probably going to have to pick up my AppleCare plan tomorrow, but am hesitant, because if they tell me I have to lose all my files, I'll snap. Paying $300 to not even get a straight-jacket, isn't really a bargain.
So a huge PLEASE goes out to anyone that might have some suggestions, methods, secrets, that might allow me to get in there one last time, or fix this bug for good.

This exact thing just happened to me last night. I've had my Macbook for almost a year and a half with absolutely no problems (and for a former windows user, this was astounding). But last night as I was checking accuweather.com with Firefox, the whole computer froze. I couldn't force quit or anything, so I held the power button down and it turned off. I restarted normally and got the grey screen of death with no usual spiraling circle icon. I tried rebooting again with the same problem. Luckily i took advantage of two great Apple offerings: AppleCare when i bought the computer, and then I installed Leopard a couple months ago. Time Machine backed up everything 2 days ago when i last hooked up my external hard drive. Yay for no data loss!! I fear a hard drive failure, but maybe the OS simply needs a fresh install? I have an appointment with a Genius tonight... i'll let you know how that goes and what they say is the problem. Sounds like we're not the only ones with this problem as i've seen multiple threads outlining the issue, but none with clear cut solutions.

Hey im running snow leopard on mac book pro .When i try to shut down i get a blue screen with a spinning circle and then it stays there forever .I tried repair with mac os cd , i tried repair disk permissions , disk utility says that everything works fine (no need to repair) . I tried shutting down through safe boot and it works ok.
When im in nornal mode it doesnt shut down . If i turn on and then shut down without opening any applications it works ok , when i proceed using it then ; it doesnt shut down

i did clean reformat (full re partition) ... it works on start up ... but after 1 reboot ... it will hang at blue screen forever with the blue cycling from darker to brighter ... the apple rep say it my 3rd party HDD ... but the hardware internal self check is passed ...
i am very frustrated

As I press the 'On/Standby' nothing appears on screen.

Touchsmart HP IQ772/Windows XP
As I go to turn on my PC nothings appears on the screen, however a fan is still running. The fan will run for as long as the computer is connected to the power, as if it is just the screen that isnt working(the SD card port light is still on and the 'On/Standby' light is on).

Apps icons not appearing on screen after ios7 upgrade

After updating to IOS7, my apps are not showing up on screen. They appear in the App Store under purchased, and open when I press the "open" button. How cai I get the icons back on the screen?

I think I am having the same problem.
After updating to iOS 7, a couple of my Purchased apps have icons on my iPhone 4S screen, and some of my Purchased apps do not. If I go to App Store/Updates/Purchased, all the apps I Purchased show up, even the ones I deleted from my phone (before and after the upgrade).
All of my active apps have the "Open" button next to it. But how do I get the active-apps-that-aren't-showing-on-my-phone to show up on my phone?
I haven't found any Apple support string that talks about this and it's frustrating. My commonly used apps are no longer easily accessible, which is counterproductive.

Horrible Blue Bands appear on screen after Mavericks update

Hi there,
I recently upgraded to Mavericks and was greeted with a horrible strip of vertical blue bands across the screen with shimmerings in places that are grey.
When I attempt using Photoshop, all my gradients were appearing as low res bands.
My videos are worse hit as they all appear in low res.
Please, is anyone out there with a solution for me? I am a Graphic Designer and the concept of guessing colors right now is not healthy. Help me.

Itunes not appearing on screen after downloading update

On 10/7/08 I downloaded the itunes update that appeared on the screen. Since then itunes does not load on the screen. Itunes and the toolbar appear at the top but that's all I see. I can click on CONTROLS and then play. the entire music library will play but that's all I can do.

I downloaded the latest iTunes and now I can't connect to the store and it won't read any of the cds I try to rip (I have to enter all the info in manually).
When I try to connect to the iTunes store, I get this message: "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The network connection was refused. - Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again."
Is this similar to what's happening to you? Can anyone help???
